I usually buy fresh red meat and chicken at bold butchery & grill since last year. I decided to retire cooking for tonight and want to try their hot meals. We ordered beef burgers, chicken shawarma wrap and chicken shawarma poutine through what's app message this afternoon and they replied fast and we picked up food on time! they were so delightful! sorry I wish I took a picture of them but they already are in our tummies :D will come back again.

They’re not located at the best street in Victoria so we had to walk about a km to find a decent place to eat our food. Also, their fries weren’t good. Their staff is nice and friendly though.

I tried shawarma from all other places in Victoria. This is the real one I felt. They do not mix up with potatoes or pickles. Veggies, garlic,mayo. Super taste for my tongue. I always go there whenever I get time and hungry or need chicken.

It was ok. I had a burger that was pretty good but the fries were a disappointment. Sure they're homemade, but they weren't cooked correctly so they were soggy. I also asked for a double burger but apparently they can't do that which is weird. There's also no menu anywhere so unless you know what you want going in, there's no way to know what's available or what the pricing is like. Someone else mentioned a homemade ginger ale which I totally would have tried if I knew about it.

Bravo! The Bold Butchery is bold indeed. And it is amazing and fresh and so full of flavor and damn, now I have to move here. We visit Victoria once every year for the wonderful food. The Shawarma bowl and hamburger at the Bold Butcher were the highlight of our trip this year. If restaurants were in the Olympics, these guys would get gold and if we ever send people back to the moon, they should take some BBG shawarma along.

I was homesick to alberta until I knew about this place, it’s so authentic and everything is made and served with passion, and of course built from scratch, so you eat homemade food away from home! Their Shawarma is to die for in anyway you like it, wrap style or in a rice platter salad and even poutine. Portions are filling and generously portioned. Veggie eaters don’t worry this place got you covered with their to die for homemade falafel, in a rice platter or salad style and of course a wrap. I gotta go but lastly not certainly least you haven’t lived yet if you haven’t given this place a try!

I have been dreaming about this place since I tried it last week. I insisted it be my birthday lunch! 03/10 - So went by today for my birthday lunch. My partner wanted to go early so we got there around 1130, there was no one else there, it was great. Ordered my Shawarma Bowl but just couldn't finish it so I got a take out container and filled it with my leftover shawarma. I was soooo looking forward to finishing the chicken, hummus and quinoa when I got home. When we were done I bussed my own table and used the restroom. When I came out of the restroom I forgot to pick up my take out container. I made it all the way to the car but in the two minutes I was out of the restaurant they had taken my birthday lunch and thrown it out. When I got back to the restaurant and asked about it they apologized but I was so choked. I hate to say but it ruined my whole day. I was really looking forward to that shawarma bowl. Valuable lesson learned.

The best poutine you can get in Victoria. It's the closest thing the the incredible, world famous poutines of Montreal that you will find in Victoria. Make sure to ask for extra sauce! Their chicken shawarma wraps are incredible also!

The owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful in choosing the right menu items and even made super helpful suggestions for things to do in Victoria. The food was simply amazing. We ordered the beef burgers and the shawarma poutine and it was delicious. As someone who doesn’t normally enjoy beef, this burger was incredible. Highly, highly recommend this joint. You can’t visit Victoria without going! We can’t wait to visit again.

Delicious shawarma bowl. Very good quality, nicely spiced chicken. I had mine with the quinoa tabouli, which was more just quinoa not much tomatoes, parsley, etc. so not a tabouli per say but perfectly cooked quinoa. Next time I would get the fries instead, they somehow stay crisp even though they’re underneath the shawarma. The spicy harissa hummus is hot! Nice and spicy. I love that they come in compostable container. Yum!

Wow! Amazing! This place is great! I was looking to try a new place for lunch with my wife and son and decided to the Bold Butchery and Grill. …and we all loved it! And not easy pleasing kids with new foods. First of all, the service was fantastic! Staff was kind, informative and very welcoming. The food was even better, we had the shawarma poutine and the shawarma salad bowl, both delicious! So tasty! This is very much a take-out kinda restaurant. We took our meal to the park and had a great afternoon. We will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends. Thank you for an amazing meal!

Very good food here! I recommend the shawarma bowl with chicken. This thing is the real deal. I would have given them 5 stars but the bowl is so good I started eating it on my drive back and was pulled over for distracted driving. I offered the police offer a bite but they declined and still wrote me up for distracted driving. 4 out of 5 because it won't get you out of a ticket. Only 5 star foods can do that.

These guys are awesome. I initially saw Bold Butchery advertised on Instagram and had never tried shawarma before. Since that point I figure I go maybe 2-4 times a month for their chicken shawarma poutine. Food is excellent, the staff is awesome and always make you feel welcome. They can understandably be quite busy so I personally find it easier to call ahead and order if you're not wanting to wait. Cheers guys!

Tastewise, Bold Butchery nailed it. I tried the Chicken Shawarma (hot sauce + pickles) and it was the best one in Victoria, hands down. The fries were pretty good too! However, as many others mentioned here their portions are quite sad... especially at the price they're charging ($16.99 for a combo meal). The "Shawarma" I got looked more like a burrito that was thrown together by a lazy high school student. If you can easily wrap your hand around a shawarma, something is wrong. If they add a little bit more meat, I think this would be comparable to the real deal.

I live in Toronto where we have two shawarma joints on every corner and I can say without a doubt this is the best shawarma i’ve had. It's not bad, and definitely one of few shawarma options on the island, but odd that toum isn't included, and for $1.50 you get a pop caps worth... That's a slap in the face. To get enough garlic to make a proper shawarma, it'd cost more than the shawarma itself. Also, on my order they forgot to add the pickled turnip. Included fries are generic and disappointing.

I’ve had the Shawarma Poutine (very big portion!) and Shawarma Bowl, as well as a side of their Falafel. Being from Middle Eastern decent and growing up eating these foods, I can attest to the authenticity of the flavours, especially the spices used. Well done! I haven’t purchased any of their meats yet but the fact that they offer Halal meats and you can see the quality of the meat cuts in the display case is very appealing.

My husband and I are originally from Calgary, AB. We love shawarma. We could not find any on the island except for this place. The moment you walk in you can clearly see it’s clean as a whistle! I was informed that they sell meat there as well. I checked the prices and they are such a great price. I will from now on be purchasing my meat from this shop. It’s nice to know your meat is local and being cut up in an extremely clean place. The shawarma was just as good as home! ... even better to be honest. Visited this place for the first time today. Great staff, awesome interior, and an accommodating menu. Glad to hear they are bringing in more menu items as this was an awesome place to have lunch. Their ginger beer is quite good; I hear more flavors are coming soon. Low prices compared to your usual butcher shop.

Lowest quality of food! We ordered Chicken Shawarma Poutine but it had all fries with 5-6 super tiny pieces of Chicken Shawarma! That would be more honest to name it as “Fries” instead of Chicken Shawarma Poutine! Taste was also bad which we put them in the garbage! Waste around $40!

Nice halal place in Victoria for a quick lunch. Located right next to subway so you can pickup your favorite salad from subway to complement your beef sandwich. Parking is scarce

PRICE: My cousin and I just got take out. Burger and fries. No drink. 15.50$ Little pricy honestly but... would willing to pay that much if it was worth it. It's not sadly. VALUE: Kind of confusing that a butcher that understands meat, would make the beef paddy nearly the size of a McDonald's normal cheeseburger. Very disappointing. Kinda small portion of fries too. TASTE: Really good! Quality of meat was excellent and the taste was flavorful. SUMMARY: Very nice staff and well put together establishment buttttt Wouldn't come back again sorry.

So good! I've just been here for take out. Chicken shawarma and the beef burger were both tasty and pretty satisfying. Love the sauces. The falafel is amazing! The butcher counter is pretty awesome looking but I am usually here during the work day, so haven't bought anything yet. I'll be making a point to try their goods in the future.
