This place has great quality meat and great selection also the staff is generally very knowledgable. If they don't have what you need out front ask the staff and they can usually find it for you.

I live with disabilities I also believe in good concience that I cannot support mask wearing. I was refused service and ejected from this store and threatened to have police called on me for wanting to shop. The people in this store seem to have their own ideas of discrimination and what laws they may create that have no jurisdictional or parliamentary or constituitional standing. They have violated my human rights based on a law that does not apply. See my video on youtube.

Scam artists!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They will take advantage of you as soon as they realize you are not an expert on cuts of meat. Total let down. Just paid 20 bucks for an awful steak.

I understand that you are under immense pressure given the current situation and I am grateful that you are able to remain open to serve your customers. However, I don't appreciate rude and aggressive behaviour when trying to place a phone order by phone. A simple "I'm really sorry we're overwhelmed by orders at this time" would have been well received and appreciated.

When your oldest friend tells you all he wants for his 50th birthday is for you to cook him a steak…. You cook that man a proper steak topped with mushrooms sautéed in butter of the gods (look it up). Great BBQ absolutely must begin with a great cut if meat, at Saslove’s you will most definitely always get that great cut. Thank you so much to Saslove's Meat Market - Byward Market for supplying these amazing Prime Rib steaks and the marrow needed for the butter of the gods for this very special and important event!

This place has high quality meat, and a good variety. It has the standards, good cuts of beef, porc and chicken, with more specialty items like veal or lamb or foie gras as well.

On occasion I've shopped at Saslove's. Recently however, I've found their customer service seriously lacking. The first time I was treated badly I thought everyone has a bad day so let it go. It is now my fourth time since that incident and have been treated badly every time. I now absolutely won't set foot in there. I'd rather shop at the organic meat shop on York as their meats are better and customer service amazing! If the owners at Saslove's are tired of customer service simply sell your store to someone who is willing to output a smile instead of a scowl and an insult. Their demeanor is borderline racist.

Best butcher shop in town. They have a wide array of product. The staff is awesome and they are always happy to answer questions. They also added online ordering with other shops in the market so you can bundle groceries and they deliver!

Stayed at an AirBnB nearby and we needed some high quality steaks. The price was decent, especially because we saved a ton from not having to go out and eat. Glad it was close by and located in the Byward Market.

I recently ordered some meat with them. Well, the short version is I will not recommend to my friend and family. First reason, they wouldn't tell you the price when I order through the phone. They reason they give to me is they have to cut the meat to know the price. So I guess the price is depends on how much I ordered maybe. Second, they are very expensive, for example I ordered 1lb beef tenderloin and cost $37. Wow, I have no idea what kind special cut cost that much, in Costco the good one cost about $20/pound. Third, they said they will delivery it first thing this morning, and I got it around 2 pm. But they do charge me first thing in the morning. So I want to support local business. But this kind of business I would not like to support them. Since the owner respond to my review and I have no way to respond to them, I only want to say, your attitude to the customer will kill your business.

Requested a duck to be brought in for our early Christmas dinner. Duck came in just in time, just as promised! Beautiful duckling, was never frozen, and it tasted wonderful. Very impressed, looking forward to be returning here for more cuts!

The best butcher shop I've been to. They have friendly staff, great customer service, and absolutely the best marinated steak, and chicken. They also have a great variety of sausage, bacon ( the double smoked is my favorite), bison, duck, rabbit.....If you live in or around the market definitely give them a try. I believe that even if you had a bit of a drive to get there still very much worth the trip.

Saslove’s is Saslove’s. What I mean by that it has never failed us for the meat we have purchased. The sausages are great, the London Broils are divine and make sure to try the Armadillo Eggs. Almost forgot, the dried liver dog treats are our pup’s favourite.

I've been shopping here for close to ten years. Best quality of ground beef in the city. Nice steaks, cheese, and staff. I can't recommend it enough.
