The staff I interacted with were attentive and knowledgeable. The store is super clean and well organized and there was no line-up to check out. They allow you to order your groceries in advance and pick up curbside. The store is on the more expensive side but the products are top quality so that is to be expected. There was so many different kinds of meats and cuts to choose from. They had a nice cheese section as well. There was a small selection of prepared meals and soups as well.

Truly excellent quality meats and prepared foods. Really looking forward to their expansion opening across the street in a few months. Pro tip from a 5 year regular: if you plan to move into the area, budget on spending more than your mortgage payment every month by simply walking up and down this section Bayview, with the obligatory stop at Cumbrae's. You will be extremely well fed, until the bank forecloses.

Really amazing customer service, cleanliness, more than adequate number of staff to serve everyone very efficiently. The line outside was very orderly, and staff were constantly checking the line for people with pre-orders, to keep pickup's moving smoothly. I have never been inside this store before and was really blown away - it is a really good quality curated selection of product, carefully prepared foods, and of course amazing selections from the butcher counter. I have eaten Cumbrae's dry aged beef in many restaurants, but today grabbed my first 4-5 Week Dry-Aged 1-lb RibEye Steak from the store. I am super excited to cook this tonight!

I hate writing bad reviews. But honestly? I wasn't impressed. Prices: expensive (which I don't mind) Display: beautiful/clean Service: atrocious, and when that happens, price/display don't mean much. Beautiful young people working the counters and cash - summer jobs during Covid aren't easy, but it's NOT my fault. They want their lives back. Again, not my fault. I just didn't feel remotely welcome, and when I asked a question across the counter (both of us masked), I'm sorry if I had to ask you to repeat your answer. I work for my money, and I don't feel like giving it to you. Sorry Cumbrae's. The food I bought (which I regret not abandoning in a corner) will probably be delicious, but I can find great food elsewhere.

Asked the store whether they can provide me with 4 racks of fresh pork back ribs for Sunday, and was told no problem. Picked them up on Saturday evening, just to learn that the ribs are already 3 days old. They were in fact already smelly. No apology was offered. This is not what I expect from Toronto's premier butcher....

Shopped at Cumbrae's on Bayview yesterday and was VERY disappointed by their handling of the processing a refund of a overpriced item by both the cashier and manager on duty. Purchased a number of items including 3 similarly-sized Provimi Veal Ribeyes. After checking out at the cash I carefully scrutinized my bill and noticed that 2 were priced at $20.39 and $18.89 one at $29.99 (the price per pound). When I brought this to the cashier's attention she shrugged her shoulders and said that "they are priced by weight". I insisted that she re-weigh all 3 Provimi Veal Ribeyes then low and behold the $29.99 item should've been priced at $20.99 (see attached photos). It wasn't even weighed out on the original price tag. The cashier was completely uncertain what to do so I insisted on speaking with the Manager on duty. So, Evan, the manager, arrived on the scene, seemingly unconcerned at all about the pricing anomaly blaming it on "human error". No apology was offered, and he retrieved a $10 dollar bill from the cash, tossed it on the counter, saying "how's that?". Any member of the Cumbrae's management team with even a sliver of customer service orientation would have immediately gone to the products on display to inspect for similar errors that might be in need of rectification. Then profusely apologize to the customer for the error. Finally, compensate the customer for the full erroneous purchase price of the overpriced item. Inconveniently, Cumbrae's place/face all their items on the shelves/racks with the price tags on the back of the product. I would conservatively estimate that my annual family spend at Cumbrae's to be approx. of $5,000. After such shabby treatment at Cumbrae's today I will take my business elsewhere. Attention Cumbrae shoppers - caveat emptor..... buyer beware!

Went for lunch to order two sandwiches. Staff were lazy, didn't acknowledge us. Finally a staffer at the butcher counter flagged us over to take our order. Alas, they managed to make one of the sandwiches wrong and didn't even validate it was correct and with requested hot sauce. Clear that top management needs to look at their system and processes for training and execution of orders. For a better experience, go to the Queen St. location.

For a high end butcher shop, I am very disappointed. I ordered 2 steak salads on uber eats and was very clear in the special request notes section saying "please no pumpkin seeds due to allergy". Sure enough once it arrived. Pumpkin seeds were on it, along with missing toppings. The Queen st west location is much better. You'd think a butcher and restaurant of this caliber would not make errors of a fast food restaurant.

Nice large shop with lots of people working but service still felt chaotic and disorganized. About half the store footprint is ready to eat/food counter. Their lunchtime burger was tasty but on the pricier side for a take out counter ($40 for 2 burgers, 1 fries, and 1 water). They got one of our two burger orders wrong (wasn't worth the time to ask them to correct it). While my husband was waiting he overheard another patron who was still waiting 15 mins for the second half of her order despite already receiving the first items. In summary, communication with the staff wasn't the greatest and they could use a better system to make it clear where people should wait, line up, place orders or pay for food. Food and their products are good if you can get past all the other stuff.

The new store is much larger and has MANY more additions compared to the old store. This includes a section for (marinated and ready to eat) roasted chicken, a variety of vacuum packed meats, pates, sausages, bacon etc. As well, they have a section for sandwiches and meals that can be consumed on site or for take out. Plenty of staff members so there us hardly any wait time even during busy periods.

Busy and efficient....expensive but worth it...a vacation grocery for me.....but when I think of the expense of dining out, it seems reasonable. And I like Knowing that the farming practices of their suppliers is humane and sustainable. Animal life shouldn't be taken cheaply. And the employees are knowledgeable and friendly even in pandemonium pandemic.

Amazing food and products. Staff are very nice. Yes prices are higher than your average supermarket but consider this an upscale boutique. Oh and their steaks are amazing. You can get a couple of nice rib eye steaks for about $85. Enjoy.

The Bayview location of Cumbrae's is the better of their two Toronto stores, and they are one of my three go-to butchers in the city. Good selection, excellent service and quality, plus other foodstuffs and some prepared foods. Not cheap, but good value for the money.

Okay, sandwiches are not usually my go to. Cumbrae’s sandwiches are another story. Having had the opportunity to try two now, Cumbrae’s has changed my opinion on this North American staple altogether. The fried chicken sandwich my friend ordered not only looked epic but was packed with crunch, texture and flavour. The steak sandwich with the aioli was an absolute pleasure to eat. Every ingredient on both of these sandwiches was fresh and well though-out. The rice bowls on the other hand were surprisingly very bland, particularly the Mexican inspired version.

We went there 30 mins before its closing time. Everyone was in a rush to clean everything, running in the store. I wasn't sure whether I could still be able to order some food to go. They were taking away everything. Especially at the meat counter, there was a lady whom I didn't like her attitude. She was talking to us like we did something wrong. She was talking to the staff loudly in the store too. Although there were good stuff, the attitude of the staff was not nice.

This Bayview location is wayyy bigger than the queen west one, which is great for covid times because you don't have to stand in line. Awesome meats, cheeses, pickles etc. Once you try cumbreas lean ground beef for burgers you'll never go back to the grocery store stuff!

I find the meats very expensive. I never buy those. I like the prepared meals like beef bourginon etc. Very tasty, no preservatives and cooked fresh and packaged. Enough in a pack to share amongst 3 people typically.

The best butcher shop I've ever been to. The negative reviews on this page are stupid, like complaining about dead animals in a butcher shop or that they were closed one night for processing 500 orders because you drove 3 hours like a donkey without calling ahead. Everyone is friendly and attentive. The prepared food is beyond great. If you think it's too expensive, go to metro instead.

I picked up bacon at 5:45pm get home at 5:55pm look at my bacon its all fat zero meat. I call no one picks up.. i call and call knock on the door someone picks up the phone at 6:15pm... I am told to come back the next day.. i guess my dollar fifty a pieces for fat is fair.. shity service customers come first..

Visited a fortnight ago and ordered the Steak Sandwich. The meat was grilled just right and quite juicy, while the onions, mushroom & cheese really helped bring out the overall flavour. Pretty decent for the price, given the good quality ingredients. Definitely going back again.

Picked up a couple of New York strips here the other day. Grilled them on my BBQ and I must say, they were the best steaks I've cooked. They were up there in taste with some of the best steaks I've ever had from nice Steakhouses. They were two solid pieces, each one was just under one lb, so in total was about 2 lbs for $60. The 3 stars are for the awful customer service I experience most of my time at this location. This time in particular was pretty bad. But the steaks were top notch, even though they were expensive, so 3 stars is the middle ground.

I arrived with my family at the butchery on Sunday, May 23! Maybe 5:40 pm. First time visiting. - We asked (a girl): hey how are you? Do you have something like a sandwich or something to buy to eat? - her answer: yes, there! She points to a tray with many wraps inside a fridge! - we said: ok, so which Flavours do you have? - beef, ......... - we said: perfect, please give us the beef’s wrap! - she put the wrap in from of us! Cold! So, - we said: can you heat the wrap? -she: nop! So, mmmm ok so! Buy! We didn’t buy anything! During the covid many stores need help! We were trying to buy something and that’s was the attitude! No, thanks! Money for service! I do not recommend going to this place!

Beautiful location, staff was helpful. Prices are OK but the quality is worth it. The store offers a wide variety of products, which I also appreciate. There is a small "grocery" section. Love that everything is locally sourced and antibiotic/hormone free. Yum!
