As you know, we do not usually bother to put reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Butcher Shop corresponds to the category of Butcher shop.
I'm appalled at myself for not writing a review for this place already. I grew up in a small neighborhood with a local butcher. We used to go here and get fresh meats and local grocery items. The place I knew is long gone and replaced with chains. The Meat House has really brought me back to that local feel. This place is amazing and their meat selection is unbelievable. The butchers here are very friendly and welcoming. You can also ask for items that aren't on display, such as selections of fresh lamb cuts or pork belly slabs and they'll cut it fresh, or order it if its not in stock. They are always open to answering questions and giving advice on food prep and cooking, as well as giving you ideas for a meal. Great place and worth the extra cost.
The employees are very nice and the store has everything you'd need for a nice dinner or to host a party. You can pop in for a bottle of wine and two burgers or you can stock your party with different cuts of meat, sides, and desserts like …
Travel down from So. Central VA great place, great quality. Always satisfied.
Have been buying Sunday dinners here for over a year. Lots of variety/specials and incentive programs. Got to say nothing can beat the marinated beef tips and pre seasoned veggies. Extremely easy to prepare and absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys grilling, I will never purchase meat from the grocery store again, even if it costs a little more.
Always great service and selection! If they don't have what you are looking for in the case just ask. They cut steaks and roasts to order. Best butcher I've found locally.
The difference in quality here is unmatched. I often would try to buy some of the best meats at my local grocery chain and even their best cannot come anywhere close to the level of quality, taste, and tenderness of The Butchers Market. The difference is real with their ground beef, steaks, and you must try their bourbon steak tips. I’ve still yet to try their chicken, fish, pork, or their exotic options but I’m sure those are also excellent quality. The customer service has also always been top notch anytime there’s a discrepancy or question or a rare one-off issue, they have always been polite and quick to resolve it in a manner that benefits the customer. Highly recommend The Butchers Market.
Thanks for contacting me I guess. I sent an email and I never heard anything back. I have used this market for my butcher for a few years and I have generally been very satisfied. Every year we purchase a 3 bone prime rib roast for a group on Christmas Eve but normally in a different state. This year we came together in NC and I ordered a prime rib roast from the Butcher's Market. I am sad to say it was the worst prime rib roast I have gotten in almost 15 years. There was an extremely thick and tough band of fat or something through the middle. It was almost too tough to cut with a sharp knife. All of the meat around this band was tough and flavorless. It was very disappointing for a $250/ $25 per pound cut.
Great sandwiches!
I'm a big fan of butcher shops, and fell in love with The Meat House the moment I walked in. Their meat selection is top of the line, and their additional offerings are amazing as well. With choices of pasta, artisan sauces, craft beers, and wild game selections, you can ensure our dinner is perfectly paired.
Great sandwiches. Quality meat and great menu. Staff is friendly and portions are great for the price! I've tried the steak tips and pastrami and Swiss. Both were excellent.
Cooked their pork tenderloin per their exact instructions and it came out amazing!...Garlic and almond green beans were on point as well!!.. Will def go back and get different offerings
First time visit today and everyone was extremely nice. Gave a free sample of signature steak tips
Their signature in-house chicken and steak are a must try. Samples are amazing too.
Wow - just wow. Hands down, the BEST Filet Mignon I've ever purchased and extremely courteous staff in an awesome store with some wonderful unique flavorful items. I was feeding a party of 7 and popped in to pick something out. In the case they had several of varying sizes, and so I asked about placing an order for seven cuts that were closer in size (did NOT want to deal with people fighting over the big ones). The butcher did his thing right then and there without me having to come back - I was amazed. Also, they had some "stuffed grape leaves" (Dolmas for you people who know) that were the best I'd ever had - and coming from a traditional-ish Lebanese family, that's saying a lot.
Jackson shares great tips for great tips Thanks!
This place doesn't miss. Slinging the highest quality meat in town.
Great selection and service! Quality above anyone around!
Great meat and knowledgeable staff make this place our only go to store when we have a hankering for a hunk of meat!
We received a text for a weekend special ($19.99 for a slab of ribs and 10 jumbo wings). Seemed like a great deal so we responded to the reservation text and called in to make sure this would be available to pick up as we live about 25 miles away, like to confirm before making the drive. When we arrived, we were told there was an issue and they were out of stock. We shared the experience with two others there and barely received an “I’m sorry for the inconvenience”, not even an offer of anything else to make up for issues on their end. Really not a good way to take care of customers. Especially, the general attitude of “oh well”. We have been coming here for years and enjoy the quality. You know what they say about reputation, it’s takes years to build and minutes to ruin. Today’s experience did exactly that. It will be along time before I ever consider spending my money here again.
Today was our first visit to this market. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. I did not catch the name of the staff member behind the counter but she was really helpful and surprised us by giving us a free sample of steak tip to try. So far what we've had had been fresh and delicious. We will most definitely return.
RUDE!!! young woman at the cash register. Excellent meats and marinade. Am a regular customer, but won't be returning for a while because of not so welcoming attitude from young cashier.
Best tips ever! The staff is so helpful. The prices are more than a grocery store but worth it.
Love shopping here. The meat is great. And as I have celiac disease, they always are very courteous in checking their salads, etc to make sure they are or not gluten free.
My in-laws have been obsessed with this place bc they’re always bringing super expensive cuts of meat. Dry aged beef is good but the real gem is the bacon. Omg the bacon is unllike any bacon you’ve had before. We used to get bacon from Costco and thought that was good. Now I spit Costco bacon out bc now I am hooked on this bacon. It is insane and thank god my in-laws bring it over regularly, mostly bc my 2 yr old who is very picky eats it, or id be broke by now.
Very friendly and helpful staff
I brought my 6 lb dog with me. The manager came to ask me if he was a emotional dog, I said no. Then he said, the dog is not allowed. I respect that, and I said I will take the dog back and leave her in the car. I was actually holding her. I admit I was in the wrong for bringing the dog,. And I am happy to respect and follow the rule of the place. But he was very rude. He could have let me know without being rude. I think he felt I was a elderly Asian Indian women, he could talk rudely. I may be a Asian Indian elderly women but I am also a very highly education and influential person who is a business owner with 12 staffs working for me. Not only that I treat from my gardener, housekeeper to any one with ultimate respect and kindness. Seems like rudeness is the new norm in our culture now.
Amazing beef tips. Best prices on Boar's Head cold cuts. Friendly and helpful staff. Can't say enough about how great this place is! Compares favorably with what one can find in The Strip District of Pittsburgh, PA ... albeit on a smaller scale.
Had better steak from Harris Teeter.
Very disappointed! I ordered a "twice baked " potato. This was merely a half of a baked potato with cheese! That is not considered "twice baked"! No bacon, no sour cream.
Best butcher in the area! Awesome selection with very fresh and local meats.
They just keep getting better. I love their “classic” for both chicken and beef. Great selection of local beers and they keep expanding the selection of sides and deserts.
Great selection of gourmet meats, super clean, and a friendly, helpful team! Looking forward to my next visit!
this is THE place to grab your meat.
5 stars. This is the only place to go for steaks. The selection is great, the employees are personable and willing to educate you and get what you want. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic. The only reason I went to this place is because a friend of mine brought some steak tips to a cook out and they were so amazing I wanted to get some for myself. It's conveniently located so that it's easy to get to. A friend of mine and I went in and started looking around and I instantly fell in love with the store. It has an old time, welcoming feel to it with the way the store is arranged. They sell break, meats, spices, and much more. It didn't take long for us to locate the Steak Tips we were looking for. I also found a steak tip, pre-made lunch which I grabbed to take to work with me. The woman at the register was extremely friendly and spoke with us for a few moments while she rang up our order. As for the lunch box I got, the steak tips were delicious but the rice wasn't to my liking. To each their own, someone else might love the way the rice was prepped and flavored. I definitely plan on returning to this location when I need some specialty meats or I just want to stop by and grab something. I do have to warn you though, this place is a little pricy, so be prepared to spend a little money. Then again, you pay for what you get and what you get is amazing!
Love this place - friendly, knowledgeable employees, quality food, and nehi peach in glass bottles.
After frequently getting substandard meat from the local grocery stores, I realized I could get better quality meat, fresh, to order, and at not much more cost. Totally worth the extra stop. Great gourmet food and beer selection too, and everyone is super helpful.
Great selection.
A very popular place with quality meats and NC specialty items. Or if you're game, you can find exotic meats in the freezer section like buffalo, goat, or rabbit.
Fresh meat at competitive prices. Quality is amazing!
The sandwiches are always amazing! We have tried most of them and we love the turkey and provolone. But all of them are delicious!
Best steak I've ever had. Seriously. I did their steak of the month club, which is a good deal, and it's a good way of trying cuts I would not have normally tried. They also have incredible sandwiches.
Get your meat here! Absolutely huge steaks to choose from!
We love this place. We usually we get steaks but tonight - burgers BUTCHERS BLEND and macaroni salads. You should try some! We also have tried the slices of cake YUM. But my favorite is candy apple bacon SO GOOD!
Great selection and service. Very friendly employees. If you're looking for hard to find meats, like duck bacon, ostrich filet, and camel ribeye, this is the place.
Save your money and grill at home. These meats beat any restaurant in town. The staff are also extremely knowledgeable about cooking them and what rubs or marinades will go best.
Andrew was absolutely fantastic in helping up choose our steaks, explain the best cooking process and his butter complimented the steaks so well. We will be back to buy our meats and see Andrew again.
Went there for the first time yesterday. I walked in with my wife and wad promptly greeted. While we were looking at the steaks, the gentleman behind the counter was very quick to show us around since we told him this was our first time. They have meats ive never even had before such as rattlesnake and alligator. Wer picked up lamb, steak, some kind of new sausage and some spices and spent less than $50! I will be going back for sure.
Expensive but the best quality you can buy in NC.
It's hard to find a proper butcher, and this place delivers. I love this place! Maybe don't take their advice to slow cook lean meats though.
Excellent everything
Excellent market very friendly and helpful staff
Great place to shop for prime beef, wine, eggs and local ingredients
Great place
My first time there, it offers a lot of variety, some specialty marinaded meats and prepared foods. The Chicken Marsala( pre-made) I purchased was disappointing..the quality of meat was excellent, plenty of mushrooms, but NO taste of Marsala wine! The main ingredient flavor was totally absent. I would not purchase that again, but may try something else, from the butcher case.
Friendly service and best meats in town!
Customer service with a smile, will recommend to friends and family and will return. Great prices!
They have excellent quality meat products. They stock local ingredients and have a great selection of wine and craft beer. The location is easy in and out. Highly recommended to people that grill and enjoy entertaining.
Fantastic little shop with friendly staff and tons of high-quality meats and more.
My first time ever walking into a "meat house" was an awesome experience
Great quality meats, seafood and helpful people here
The salmon was fresh and buttery. This was my first time here. It will not be my last. Impressive quality and very clean. Thank you for being extraordinary.
This place is an adventurous eater's dream come true.
I was looking for a special cut of pork so I decided to try the Butchers Market. I expected them to be overpriced and underwhelming. I was flat wrong. The staff was great and when I described the particular cut I wanted, he excused himself for a few minutes and came back with the exact piece I described. As for the price, you really do get what you pay (when it comes to meat). While I waited for the butcher to wrap my purchase, I shopped for some spices and was pleasantly surprised at both the large selection and the low prices as well. I got home and prepared Italian Style (upstate NY) pork roast. I t was amazing and well received by my family. Thanks Butchers Market. I will be back soon!
Amazing
Helpful staff and quick ordering. Did not take butchers long to trim the beef tenderloin I ordered. Selection in store is amazing!
We went here just for a look but left with steak tips and bacon. Dinner and then breakfast was fricken awesome we will 100% be back again.
Great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, top quality products. Love the beef, and as a bonus they even have rendered duck fat! Worth the trip if you are serious about your meat.
Ever since I heard Bobby Flay from the Food Network talk about the importance of using dry cured bacon in a recipe; I have been searching for three years for dry cured bacon in raleigh-cary-durham to no avail. That was until I found the Meat House. Commercially processed pork products are cured with water, salt, sugar and nitrates which is why when you fry up a pound of bacon that costs $4 per pound, what you're left with is more sizzle and pop than bacon which is why you also have to cook the hell out of it otherwise you're left with limp soggy pork belly. That's not the case with the dry cured bacon @ the Meat House - WARNING: If you like crispy bacon and are accustomed to cooking your bacon until it is crisp, you will burn the bacon and at $9 per pound you may want to heed my advice. Whatever your preferred method of cooking your bacon, be it stove-top, oven or microwave, reduce the time and heat, and watch it like a hawk until you grow accustomed to the new cook time, otherwise it WILL burn. Once you've tried it, you'll never buy commercial cured bacon again. They prepare it in a variety of flavors and they are generous with uncooked samples to take home to try. I like the Mesquite Maple, the Jalapeno Pepper and the candied Applewood.
We’ve been here a few times and today we had a hankering for sandwiches and made an online order. I recently had to give up all forms of dairy and requested my sandwich to be dairy free. My visiting parents picked the order up and when they got home, my sandwich had the wrong bread and had cheese. However…this is not a sad story. Due to the great customer service, they made me a new sandwich and gave us a gift card for our troubles. 5/5! Great sandwiches and great employees!
Never have I been met with anyone less than friendly. Someone is always willing to help, offer suggestions, and generally be a friendly conversation. Love this place. I'll always come here for a good steak!
Great selection of amazing food. I usually get their signature chicken and veggie medly. Whenever I am planning on grilling or cooking for a special occasion I always go here.
Clean, great selection, friendly employees. Everything we've bought has been fresh and great tasting. My only complaint is that it's too far from our house!
Their filet migon has a lot to be desired especially at $29.99. Its fatty and full of chewy parts. I called and Danny corrected the issue without any questions. He was very concerned that I was not completely satisfied.
I'm so spoiled having this shop so close to the house. I favor the sausages, burgers, strip steak, and marinated chickens. Always top notch and tasty products, and my guests always say the same when I finish grilling them.
I've bought the marinated beef tips many times and although we love them it's been hit and miss with the quality. Sometimes, we get ones with a lot of gristle. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
The Butcher's Market is a great place. The location in Cary is my favorite, and they are very customer oriented and friendly. There was an incident with my beef ribs not being appropriate. The cashier noticed the issue, presented it to the butchers, and the butchers agreed. An appropriate cut of meat was provided, and the general manager also took care of the charges. I had know idea the quality was inappropriate. This situation proved they truly care for their products and customers.
Extensive selection. Prices expectedly higher than most places. Worth it for a treat.
Great service and great selection as usual. Freshest meat around.
Unique place great selection of meat. Have local products as well as a good selection of cheese and spices
THAT BACON ???? that they had was phenomenal. Both that smoked apple wood and Jalapeno. I cant wait to go back for more.
Really good Italian sandwich! Friendly staff.
Outstanding Customer Service from Management!!
Recently went to the newer location in Raleigh, LOVED the staff, the meat was great and it was our first time there. We've been back twice already in a week.
Absolutely love this place
Great sandwiches with interesting combos. We had the Korean pork with slaw and cuxumber and turkey with fig and roasted tomatoes. Delicious! Plus the full deli and butcher counter, Along with prepared foods is extensive and super high quality! Friendly and attentive staff as well.
Extremely disappointed in the steak and cheese sandwich that had an extremely small amount of meat and was not on a baguette but on a below food lion quality soft hogie roll. I was told that the sandwhich was popular which is very hard to believe. Any chance of enjoying the small though tender piece of meat on the sand which was further made impossible by the worst cheese sauce which seems to be melted velveeta. The sandwhich, with the exception of the quality of meat which I would say was above average, was way overpriced at $9.99 plus $1 tax, considering that it was like eating half a 6 inch sub at subway but with zero vegetables on it with the exception of the included pickle slice.
Excellent quality and variety.
First Class service with higher prices that reflect their First Class quality.
Crowded, but very quick and efficient!
Had the steak of the month club given to me for Father's Day and it was great. You drop by once a month to try out another selection of their meats for six months. I never had anything but excellence delivered. Their selection of bacon was interesting and worth dropping in to pick up just a couple strips of each kind. I made it a week of bacon with a different kind each day. They also had natural sausage casings if you are into making sausage. The folks behind the counter are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend.
Two words, steak tips... okay... two more words... BOTTLED CHEERWINE! This is a wonderful place to get premarinated meat, veggies, or local beer. They also have a great selection of local icecream, dry goods, and prepackaged meals.
Had their Beef Tenderloin on a herb focaccia and I was impressed as it was freshly made with super fresh ingredients and a choice of chips plus a pickle wedge and a york peppermint pattie - Yummylicious!!!
Great selection of meats!
I purchased my $67.54 boneless rib roast on Saturday 12/23 for my Christmas dinner on 12/25. Following the cooking directions that The Butcher's Market recommends I just opened the package to let the meat come to room temperature. The first thing I noticed was all of these gray/brown spots all over the roast. Then there was a distinct odor coming from the meat. Needless to say, dinner was ruined. No roast for us tonight! I have photos for proof but don't know how to post.
Great selection and even better staff!
I want to love this place - but unfortunately have been dissatisfied lately with the steak & chicken. Last few times we got steak and chicken there has been A LOT of fat. I recommend picking out the steak tips individually and avoiding the pre-packaged vacuumed packed marinated meat. I will say the staff are great. Always friendly and helpful.
I love this place! I called in today to see if someone would be able to pull together some meat for me to pick up at the register quickly so that I could let my 16 month old sleep in the van. Josh was more than willing to help and took care of this for me. In addition to outstanding customer service, the meat is so tender that you can't possibly mess it up when you cook it. Anybody who has not tried this store definitely needs to check it out!
Love The Butcher's Market for many reasons, but most recently the Turkey Sandwich lunch. There is magic in that sandwich- some kind of sweet fig spread and delicious roasted tomatoes. So fresh. I would highly recommend stopping in for one!
Great food great service! I'd you're looking for the goods for your next big BBQ, this is THE place to go and stock up. While you're there grab a turkey and provolone sandwich... there's a surprise in the bag waiting.....????
Great delicious food!!
Anything less than 5 stars is an insult to this remarkable establishment!!
If you are looking for a nice cut of meat of pretty much any variety -- the kind and quality that you won't find at the grocery store -- this is the spot to come. They also have a great variety of interesting beers that you can take home, too. Definitely worth a stop if you want to elevate your grilling game.
This place is meat heaven. Everything is good! Their service is phenomenal and fast too. Daniel is always a good guy behind the counter for specific recommendations
Great selection!
Love this place. Specialized bacon. USDA Prime meat available on request. I've never seen that in any grocery store. This is a nice place to pull together a great fancy dinner or get high quality meat in bulk for a big crowd. Plenty of specialized spices, oils, and vinegar as well. 5 stars!
First rate market
I could spend half my paycheck on the delicious meats they have. Bacon and steak tips are my favorite here
They didn't have beef liver when I went. How does a "butcher shop" not sell liver???? The boudin I got was prepackaged and lackluster.
The place is awesome!
If u force people to wear masks, be able to provide these masks. Rude people work here, wouldn't recommend
The guys and gals here are always amazing super helpful and knowledgeable with helping me pick out exactly what I need. Outstanding staff.
❤️❤️❤️. Great Meats and always GREAT Service
I have had excellent meat from Butcher's Market. I purchased a prime 2 rib roast about a week ago and it was incredible. Ditto the marinated steak tips. However, my one disappointment was the 85% ground meat. Absolutely no flavor at all. Sorry, guys. I look forward to your opening in Holly Springs for continued great food.
Good customer service, but very busy due to holiday. About 20 minute wait outside in line at the tent for our pre-order.
Disappointing meat that’s overpriced. This place is going down hill. Better value elsewhere.
Great meat and good service.
This is a beautiful store with a nice selection of meats and SO much more!
Steaks and selection of food is great although pricey. My complaint is the staff is rather rude. I waited in line yesterday while others came up to the counter after me and were immediately waited on. So annoyed I almost left but was eventually helped.
Amazing. I could live there!
As new in Cary i want to take a look at what they have before buying, but as soon as i walk in they look at me suspicious like i was under surveillance make me look uncomfortable and unwelcome, seems like they only take care nice of the regulars
Very helpful and extremely knowledgeable.
I rarely eat meat but when I do I come here for the steak tips. I would rather come here and grill their steak tips at home than go out to eat basically anywhere in Raleigh. They are absolutely 100% super awesome.
Love this place. Variety is great and the staff are so nice.
I live in Durham, and once every couple of weeks either my partner or I drive to the Butcher's Market in Cary to purchase steaks. This is the closest butcher we could find, and a 30min ride (each way) is worth it to us for quality beef. A favorite of ours is Porterhouse steaks. However, the last time she went we noticed the Porterhouse looked like it must of been cut from the absolute end, because the filet was completely missing from the side of the meat. We were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and assumed it was an anomaly. However, yesterday (08.29.20), my partner went and picked up 3 Porterhouses for us to keep for the next few weeks. We TRUST this butcher, and assumed we wouldn't need to unpackage each steak and inspect them before leaving. I have attached a photo of what they gave us below. I have also attached a photo of what they advertise on their website. If the Butcher's Market would like to reach out, and make this right, I am happy to revise my review. Update: resolved
Great people - very friendly & helpful, great food & beverages.
I was sold some very rotten fish. Highly disappointed.
Walked in just browsing last week and spent 30 minutes in there at least! Ian came from behind the counter and spent 10 minutes telling me about the meats, where they come from, how fresh his seafood is, etc. He made me feel the way you WANT to feel when you walk into a store. Welcomed and informed. I will definitely be back. The marinated chicken was amazing and the beef tips were AWESOME. It's pricey but you get what you pay for.
Great sandwiches
This place is amazing. Best steak chicken and sausage in the triangle!!!
The best!
Great butcher shop! They gave me free meat to try and asked me to come back if I liked it. I've been back ever since. I also get to support a local owner.
Always top notch beef and friendly staff ????
Great selection, and prompt service.
My husband and I had the best experience today. We had an issue with an item and the manager Danny took care of it and went above and beyond to make it right. Amazing customer service. We will be customers for life! Thank you Danny!!
Need to see how meat is on 4th. They are not very customer focused and had to wait with 5 people behind counter looking busy but not waiting on customers.
This store specializes in meat but they only have two grass fed choices? Disappointed.
Excellent service....... wonderful, quality products.
Great service and product. I love the steak of the month club.
Love this market!
Sorry to rain on your parade, but my 145.00 prime rib had so much fat I threw Much of it away and I had company and was very embarrassed. Naturally I served the best part to my company but the rest was waste, I know good beef is marbled but this was way beyond that. I have not shopped there since.
Great marinated chicken.
Friendly and diverse stock
Definitely the best place around to expand your culinary arsenal. You can put an entire meal together at the local market! The selection is broad but contained to make it easier to make a choice for your meal. The marinated chicken breast is worth driving hours to get a hold of but that's not the main reason I shop here. I am allergic to red meat (seriously) and this is the place that made it possible for me to eat a wide variety of protiens that I wouldn't otherwise have access to try. The service is always well above expectations. And try the Emu! It's my new favorite red/ not red meat.
Just don’t see the value as I never get good service here. I can get meat of the same value for cheaper at other nearby grocery venues.
I am so impressed with this butcher shop. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and their meats are fantastic. I love the already prepped to cook selections. I ordered a Prime cut Standing Rib for Thanksgiving and it is seasoned just as I asked. I can't wait to cook it. It smells and looks amazing. I also ordered the harvest vegetables, twice baked potatoes, aujus and horseradish sauce. They also look amazing. They apologized that it took 10 minutes to bring out my online order. They were busy & I was intrigued by all the goodies. I had to laugh as i just left the doctors and waited an hour and a half to be seen with no apologies and they are apologizing for 10 minutes. Pure class this place is. Great team atmosphere and everyone had a smile. I found my butcher. Thanks again.
There is no finer place to get the best quality ingredients done EXACTLY the way you want them. This is a top-notch establishment run by a wonderful local family that I am honored to call friends. Stop in and you’ll be astonished at their attention to detail and service. Side note- They are famous for a reason, so do yourself a favor and roll in here. I personally love the homemade bacon, steaks, and ham rolls. The sleeper though, is the jalapeño marinated chicken breast. I am pretty sure there is crack in there.
The meat products here are exceptional. However, I felt like I was walking into a Covid trap because the staff was not wearing masks. Won't go there again
one of the best butcher shops around. they are always helpful and have the best of everything!!!!!
The meat is good although you pay top dollar. Krystal the cashier has the personality of someone who is just a paycheck employee. It’s very disappointing to hand over money to someone like her while the rest of the staff is pleasant . I’ll probably start going to the other location.
Loved the the service but the prices are way overpriced. You can get the same quality of meats from the CBS in Angier for a whole lot less. Carolina butcher shop has the best quality of meats and the price is better. Also the waygu 200 a pound when I can get it for 94 a pound. For real A5. Come down off of those prices if you ever want my business again. Your a disgrace to the community
Great collection of meat
Perfect. Great friendly service. Plenty to choose from
Save your knives- their meat is so tender, a fork is all that is needed. The taste makes other steaks seem bad. Worth the money!!!
The finest butcher's store in Cary and the surrounding area. The staff are knowledgable, friendly and eager to assist you. The selection ranges from wild game (try the Bison) to the highest quality cuts of beef, pork and chicken. The seafood is also outstanding, specifically, the salmon, tuna and lobster. Last year we broke tradition by smoking a large beef brisket for Thanksgiving. One of the relatives still baked the turkey, but we found the brisket was such a hit that we are smoking 2 this year and we'll see if anyone still eats their turkey! The BM also has various types of seasoned bacon and marinated chicken (all of which are unique and delicious no matter how you cook them). They also have cheeses, pre-cooked meals, spices, rubs, sauces, beer, bread and everything in between for your grilling/smoking needs. Speaking of smoking, they even carry charcoal briquettes and chunks of wood from several tree species to enhance the smell/taste of your meat. We use these too. I'm a regular customer and will continue to be. Thank you for the amazing quality and experience, folks!
We love this place. We’ve been there a few times now and always have a great experience. Their steaks and bacon are so good! Their customer service is also amazing. We had a small issue with a product and they went above and beyond to make it right.
Good selection of very nice meat
I think this is the first review I've written on Google (edit: no, my fourth, but the first I've specifically searched out to write!). But I just finished your burgundy marinated steak tips and my god they knocked my socks off! I have a cooking background, people love my cooking, even apprenticed under a chef for a while, but I KNOW I couldn't do that marinade. Incredibly multi-dimensional and the cuts were superb, no gristle, just pan to plate to CHOMP and perfection. Loved it. My husband and I visit just every so often but I will make your shop a more regular stop, especially after your rearrangement of products. Makes a lot more sense to me and it's easier to navigate. Did a Wellington with your filet in 2017 and it was also top notch. Thank you and I look forward to doing more business with you and wish you the best in years to come.
Great food but the service is less than desirable. Tried to inquire about the rewards program but the cashier was rude and unwilling to help. No need to get an attitude over something so simple. Not sure if I caught her on an off day or if she's always this grumpy. I shop here a lot but the cashiers at whole foods are a lot more friendly.
The best meat in town. Very good prices and superb quality but don't think this place only sells meat. You MUST try their salmon!! It's just spectacular, and the blueberry lemon cake, made in Apex is unbelievable. They also have some vegetables and prepared food. All high quality.
Go anywhere else. Food is ok but service at 6pm is non existent. $10 sandwich with side became $15 because they refused to put the side of potato salad together, instead saying I had to buy the $4 tub of potato salad or just get the chips. I asked three times for the side, and just kept being told no. This after I had to pull teeth to get them to allow me to tell them what I wanted on the basic sandwich. They kept shutting me down. All they wanted to do was close at 7 without being interrupted by a customer.
I went in to the Cary store today to pick up a steak and two pounds of hamburger. I asked that the hamburger be package for the freezer. When the clerk came back with the two pounds wrapped in one package, I said I' m sorry I wanted it in one pound packages. He told me in an angry tone, that I needed to know what I wanted before I came in and ordered. I guess I was dumb founded by the way I was berated by this young man. I paid the cashier and left. I am 74 years old, a veteran and have never had anyone speak to me in such a derogatory manner. I will shop elsewhere in the future.
Best SPECIALTY MARKET in town! Amazing top quality meats, local items and SUPERIOR customer service 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm in CARY, NC .
great beef, great salmon. chicken used to be great not only because of the flavor & tenderness but because I didn't have to re-trim it once I got home like I do with chicken from the grocery stores. however, the chicken from my last 3 visits has had more fat than then grocery store chicken that I can get for 1/2 the price. hopefully this is not the beginning of a downward spiral for the butcher's market
Good food but closes way too early!!!!
AMAZING customer service. The butchers behind the counter were very helpful me choose amongst their selection of sausages. I was feeling adventurous and got their s. African sausage as well as their absurdly tasty spicy italian sausages. Their selection of marinated steak tips are out of this world too. Definitely my date night go to!
Corned beef and pastrami are as good as famous places in NYC and Philly
I’ve been twice to get my meat so far this year and Daniel helped me both times. He was quick with knowledge and knew how to pick out the best steaks for me.
Great meat!
Good food, and meat and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The staff helped me with the best meat selection of top round for my jerky and gave me a great recipe for curing. I'm only taking off a star because the prices are really high. Too high. One serving of uncooked, chopped potatoes and rosemary are $5 and you've still got to take them home and bake them. Half a so-so tasting pie, $16? I wish this place could be my go-to place for meat, but $52 for a frozen rabbit that can feed one serving to maybe 2-3 people? A bit ridiculous. Thats why this place remains a "couple times a year" place for me instead of a regular meat market. I mostly get my cuts from the fairgrounds or farmers market at better prices.
Clean atmosphere, shopping experience was nice, store has good layout. Bought a few steaks- they were good, but for choice beef I felt the prices were on the higher side.
Love it. So much quality selection and great staff.
the best dried aged steak
Overpriced. If you can even find prices. Went in to look at filet mignons. $35 a pound. Uh right…. Decided to get a half pie instead. No prices on anything. Just nuts. Only in Cary. Place is packed so they obviously have fish on the line.
I have to say this place is amazing, the meat is top quality and how I know this is because I’ve been giving it to the guy I got locked up in my basement and he eats every single bite of it, like he hasn’t eaten in days. Definitely will be coming in more often
First time trying this place, really bad. Ordered online, wasn’t ready when I got there. Ok, no worries. French Dip had no caramelized onions as advertised, and didn’t get a pickle wedge that was supposed to be included. The Brussel Sprouts were not sautéed as stated in online menu, they were raw, again with no onions, but pieces of raw bacon. So by the time you cook them so the bacon is done the sprouts are cooked to mush. Couldn’t have been much more disappointed. Should have read reviews before i tried it. C’mon Cary, there’s better out there......
Chicken asparagus is awesome and a great meal by itself.
Best little market around. I shop there 2 to 3 times a week and we just love the quality and service!
Rude and disrespectful and extremely pricey for what you get . Glad they are in cary because they would never make it else where
Terrific meats, beautiful store, great selection !
Great ! Everyone professional and helpful. Meat excellent.
Killer sandwiches, meat and fish!
They have South African Boerewors.
Staff answered all my questions. Everything looked great. I have been to 8 or 9 store including large groceries to the farmers markets and the butchers market had the best price on brussel sprouts.
Signature beef tips are incredible every time!! Such a treat whenever we get them!
Best selection of meats in town
Best fresh leg of lamb around. Not the least but gamey.
Great place to pick up lamb and veal or any special cuts of meat!!!
12/30/2021 - Omicron update. Not much changed in a year. No mask request at the door. Even the employees do not mask up. Regardless of any personal feelings about Covid, this obvious disregard for their own health as well as that of their customers really makes me question their general commitment to sanitation. We have gone here since it first opened. We were always happy with their products. The sandwiches and premade items (such as marinated items) we really like. Our only problem now is that they do not have a mask requirement during the pandemic, although it is posted on the door. We saw this firsthand. I emailed the manager and he said they cannot do anything about customers not wearing masks. He wrote their hands are legally tied which is simply not true. Other businesses take your order outside if you do not want to comply, I am not sure why this one will not. Beware. Update Jan 2021 - the manager emailed me that they have modified their policies for those people refusing to wear a mask. Although I am not sure they really understand that other businesses adopted curbside service per the November 2020 mandate and guidelines, it sounds like they are trying to do the right thing now. I updated my little review with another star.
My first experience with a butcher shop and the customer service was stellar! Alexis was more than happy to answer all of my questions and was super patient when I kept changing my mind. I will definitely shop here more often!
