Clean supermarket with friendly staff and a wide selections of items. I went there to buy flowers when the store opened in the morning and I was pleased with the selections of flowers available. I was helped by Maria at the self-serve checkout with my flower purchases since I wasn't able to scan them myself. She was lovely and I appreciated her help!

She was not social distancing customers at the checkout, there was something on the belt and when asked if she could not drag my groceries through it, I actually got a dirty look. Not a bad place some items are a little expensive and the layout can be a bit confusing it's in a good location and a go to for most people as location is close to everything It does have the staples that everyone looks for as well as some specialty items. There is almost always good sales on meat, fruits And veg and a good selection we will go out of our way to make a trip there if the deal is to good to be true overall a nice place to shop

Not impressed with this metro. The produce spoils quickly and the quality is not the greatest. The hot foods sold in the deli such as wedges and chicken fingers are dry and stale. I have often found milk and yogurt days past its best before date on the shelf. I bought dog treats once that had a best before date of a year prior. Their packaged bake goods (muffins) are dry and tasteless. One approximately five occasions I bought garbage tags at the cash which they don't hand to you until after you have paid even upon reminding them they still forgot to put them in my bag causing me to have to return once home or have to keep track and remind them.....the list goes on and on. Save money go to no frills plus their produce is not only cheaper but better quality.

This is perhaps my favourite grocery store in the Guelph area, of the 4 or 5 I visit regularly. The facility itself is clean and bright, well stocked and organized conveniently. I have had no trouble finding all of the items I am looking for by following the clearly visible signage throughout the store. I have not often found items to be out of stock. Each time I have been ready to checkout there seem to be an adequate selection of staff members standing by to assist me, unlike most grocery stores that have a problem keeping open enough available checkout lanes.

The alcohol policy at the Metro on Stone Rd. is quite vague. On one occasion, my husband and I were prevented from purchasing because we did not have Canadian identification and told our passports would not be acceptable (even though the pandemic prevented us from obtaining Ontario driver's licenses or photo cards). However, on many other occasions, our foreign driver's licenses (which are in English) and our passports were acceptable. There was also an instance where my husband was told by a cashier that he needed to show his visa. I called Metro's customer service for clarification on whether he needed to show his work permit. The representative said she did not know the policies and would call me back after speaking with her manager. To my disappointment, I did not receive a call back and it has already been several months. Luckily, now that lockdown restrictions have been eased, we have been able to obtain Ontario photo cards. However, those experiences were both frustrating and humiliating.

I like going here because it is orderly and its lay our makes sense. Employees are also friendly and helpful. I took two star off because the cashier didn't start bagging until after scanning everything which is a waste of my time and it is a service I go to metro for. Also the method the cashier bagged was not very efficient. She did help to make my experience pleasent otherwise.

The store is somewhat small but I was able to find much of what we were looking for. For any other US visitors not well acquainted with the metric system or good at fast math to derive the USD price of things, prepare for a somewhat overwhelming experience. At checkout the cashier was less than lively. When I went to bag the groceries, he asked how many plastic bags I would need prior to bagging. This process is foreign to me and probably would be to any US visitor from a state that allows plastic bags without tax. I very much appreciate their efforts at environmentalism but how was I supposed to know how many bags I would need before I started bagging.Thankfully their reusable totes were a great price and well constructed. From what I understand l, the two grocers we went to in Ganonoque are the only two in the city. If that's true, this is the best grocer in Ganonoque.

Although there are lovely people who work there, the customer service here has typically been sub-par, but it's starting to bother me how staff don't follow the social distancing rules even though they tell you "please follow the arrows and stand 2m apart" ---many of them don't follow the arrows and pass by people very close. This is not cool...I know everyone is tired and the staff is probably frustrated, but the rules are for everyone? Please follow the rules and wear a mask ... why aren't they wearing a mask but the customers have to???

Metro gets a four star ratings. Why you Asked? Because they carry a variety of Yogurt but 10 percent Natural. They do carry a variety of Brand's. A whole Chicken from the Meals to Go Hot section which is a great deal looks & Taste Cremated. Great quality when it comes to vegetables. Live Lobsters, fresh & frozen seafood. Too much white bread for my Taste.

Limited choices when you compare it to their stores in Quebec, expensive and unpleasant experience. There is an agressive, semi-retired lady working in self checkout greeting me with a "Go there, Ma'am" "No Ma'am, I haven't finish cleaning Ma'am" all the time. She feels the need to belittle me and direct me all the time even though she lets other customer do whatever they want. Next time, I'd rather go to Zehrs because it's getting exhausting.

Only self checkouts are open at 10:40pm. Why ? The prices are the same, but the customer now has to scan and bag the groceries. There should always be cashiers available during store hours. Otherwise the store is good, as usual for Metro. Nice, clean, good selection.

Someone comes up behind me and stands too close, but the staff at the door are telling me to "please distance from other customers". What am I supposed to do? The person behind me is too close, and I can't move forward because I have the staff yelling at me saying I can't come in because I'm not 6 feet away from the person behind me. Ridiculous.

The prices here seem to be the highest of any supermarket in the area. Not sure why people don't shop around more with prices that seem 50%+ higher than elsewhere. Produce is generally good compared to a big box supermarket however and occasionally good deals in the flyer.

They have beer and wine, hot food (the Wednesday night pizza special is awesome) and everything else you'd expect in a grocery store and some things you may not expect like a Starbucks. Lots of parking which is nice and open very late. Great place, only reason for fewer Stars is the cost. Price you pay for convenience I suppose

With all the craziness going on with people hording food it was so... nice today to go get some groceries without seeing the greed of others. People were pleasantly kind,we talk to each other. I said hello, to as many people that worked there . All the shelves were stocked.. other then the tp section lol the meat section, I got a variety of meats,and the price was good. I even got luch,two chicken wraps that we the best flavors. It was a pleasure too do all my shopping, and have enough for a few weeks. AND!!! The lovely cashear came after me with two bag I left behind ❤ She was so pleasant and kind to me. We even did the elbow bump lol We had the best day,a wounderful drive from Verona, a drive with our dog,groceries and the best supper ,full fridge. I am feeling very thankful, and happy. Good supermarket, has everything you need. A wine aisle was added not too long ago, and includes not only wine, but coolers and I think beer, too. They have a floral department, a deli, a seafood counter, and a bakery. The wait in line usually isn't bad. The only downside is that some things are too overpriced, and you need to check the dates on everything that you buy.

Was pleased the moment I was in the parking lot when the gentleman who collects the carts was very friendly and thanked me for helping him out by taking a cart. I had a small infant with me and he offered to help me with my groceries when I came back out. When I was in the store I was around the pharmacy area and I was pleased when the woman from the pharmacy came out into the aisles and asked if I needed any assistance. Metro always has good fresh produce as well.

The cake she decorated was beautiful. She did an excellent job with it. We received many compliments about the cake from our guests. My daughter loved the shoes, ribbon and little wine glasses Brenda used to decorate her cake. Thank you Brenda. Job well done. I also received very excellent service from your Deli Department. The employee (European accent - I don't have her name) who looked after my order of trays of wraps and sandwiches was very helpful in helping me choose what I needed for a wedding shower. She coordinated our pickup of the order from the Deli and Bakery. I was very happy with the service and quality of the food provided. I would recommend Metro if you are planning food for an event. Amazing. Was shopping with a friend as i have done many times before. Remarked between my friend and i at the cost of 1L of chocolate milk being 3x the market average for the area. The store manager was stocking shelves to help his staff nearby. He had no issue eavesdropping and looking at me saying "let me know if you want a job", assuming i was too poor to afford their rates. Disgusting behavior. As front line managerial personnel this poorly qualified individual should know better. I have spent thousands at metro in my years. I do not deserve to be insulted and condescended for a personal dialogue that was not directed at him personally.

One of my favourite grocery stores, a wide selection of products. Their Premiere Moison breads are exceptional and their cheese bread is phenomenal. I’m impressed with their take home food bar is well stocked and varied. They have a Starbucks in house. They also are part of the Air Miles program.

This store has the worst return policy in Guelph. Bought a $10 rotten watermelon and tried to return it today. Said they can't give me a refund today but they will after covid. They will exchange it but they won't give you your money back until after covid??? Can anyone make sense of this. The store is as very clean and the atmosphere is nice in here. When you walk in, my favourite thing is that you can smell the fresh produce. A great selection of ice cream and other various groceries. The pizza buns are absolutely delicious and I love how they accept tap at Metro, makes it very convenient for shopping!

I like buying my produce from here and they usually have some interesting options for vegan, gluten free or overall health conscious people. Watch for expiration dates on shelf items though. Frequently there are long lineups and cashiers vary between friendly and standoffish. This store is open all night also which has been very convenient.

Metro is an incredible and reliable grocery store, they’ve taken the pandemic very seriously, protecting their employees very well. The customer service here is absolutely wonderful, some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Notably the younger boy pushing carts, the older lady at the customer service spot, and the woman at the bakery. Fantastic team, the place is very tidy and neat, would totally recommend to any friends new to town. :)

Great grocery store with a nice selection of cheese and overall good vegetables and meats. Well-lit store that's usually pretty clean and tidy. Their seafood is okay, but Guelph in general has "okay" seafood on account of where we live. The staff here are pleasant and I've never had a tough encounter with them. This Metro has a miniature Wine Rack and is currently licensed to sell beer. They also have a flower shop, and in the spring (around late May) they open a garden centre for part of summer.

The store is like Walmart but the prices are a bit higher. Here you can get nice flowers. If you want to use Guelph Transportation Metro is a place in which you can buy "Guelph Transit Card". The environment of the store is beautiful and illuminated by nice LED lamps.

A big and bright Metro. It has a new interior, bright LED lighting, and all you’d expect from Metro such as a Pharmacy and Flower Centre. Their pizza is great, hands down the best pizza for the price. Staff are friendly and easy to reach. Overall a good store.

This is our usual grocery store in Guelph. They have excellent produce and a great deli section. The store is always in good 'shape'. The staff are friendly and helpful. We usually use the self-checkout and that moves quickly. The cashier checkouts seem to move quickly, in that I rarely see more than 2 or 3 people in line (I always shop here on weekends.).

I wanted to share an incident. Today I was walking in to the store at around 1:45 pm with a backpack. The Lady at entrance stopped me and said you can't carry a backpack into the store. I didn't know that metro has a policy of not allowing the backpack. I saw everyone taking their handbags. I go with my backpack everytime I go to a store so that I can avoid taking plastic bags. If such a policy is there metro should make sure that it is written at the entrance so that from the next time I will stop doing my groceries at the metro store at churchill plaza. If there is no such policy then metro have to train its employees who are working at entrance of the store.

First of all most of the cashiers are great. Karen and Ainsley are by far the nicest and I look for them always when checking out. But the reason for the poor review is I purchased a vegie tray and it was terrible. It supposedly was made fresh the day I purchased it however upon opening it the majority of carrots were mushy. I didn't see them as the top few that were showing looked ok. Very disappointed and will not purchase again. Well metro has let me down once again by selling product after the best before date. I didn't have my glasses so I couldn't read the date on the sour cream. Sure enough when I got home I checked and it was past the best before date. I guess I need to stop shopping local and go else where.

Disappointing service. Bought dressing, discovered at home that the seal was broken and the bottle had been open in the store, someone potentially tampered with it. Tried to go and exchange it for one that hadn’t been tampered with. The store refused, didn’t even ask why I wanted to return it. I had to throw it in the trash. On top of it, the Metro staff decided to randomly claim that no stores are doing exchanges.

I have always enjoyed shopping at most Metros across the GTA. Moving back this way, I still enjoy shopping with metro. This one is very well kept and has great selection. The front door staff are doing what they can to help with the social distancing. Its greatly appreciated. However, a couple staff seem very miserable and should greet people with a smile and not make them feel like they are in a prison camp lineup. Usually I am on a mission to get in and out. I like to scan my own produce at my speed. The self checkout machines are extremely slow. It takes 5x to scan 1 item before the sensor works. My suggestion update or do some maintenance on your selfcheck out to avoid conjestion.

Lovely store & beautiful displays always! Staff work very hard that’s obvious. However on more than one occasion there is a lady who works in the cheese area who scowls and literally gives dirty look and she seems annoyed when I’m asking for something specific. Same thing when I was dealing with her at the deli counter previously. It’s become uncomfortable for me to even pass through that area. I wish the manager would speak with her and train her in customer service.

I visited meat counter for a couple of specials Nov 14 at 9:30 a.m. and as usual they had no stewing beef that was on sale at all. The roast that were on special were not on the counter but they had some in the back. So they brought out 1 to me and none to restock the shelf. I am completely used to this tactic at the Guelph store. The part that I am writing about is the argument I witnessed over the counter between 2 staff from the meat department and a staff member from another department which included some choice 4 letter words! Inappropriate behavior in front of waiting customers to say the least!

A good sized grocery store, there is a ready-made/take away counter for easy meal prep (whole chickens, pizzas, soups, made in store - sushi, and sides (salads, potatoes, fries, etc.) This metro has a great fresh section for salads and made-in-store juices, as well as a Starbucks, a sit-n-eat area. This Metro is licensed for beer sales, and the floral area grows in the summer from balloons and potted plants and small floral arrangements to a full garden centre that takes over part of the parking lot, and includes things like mulch and manure and soils and hanging plants. The health and natural foods area is also a few ailes wide and is staffed for easily located assistance, if aid is needed.

Shopped for our weekly groceries for ourselves and a second order for our neighbour, Donna, for the 70th time since covid started. Our cashier Tami was a breath of fresh air! Much better than being poorly treated by cranky cashiers each week. She bagged both orders with a big smile. Even thanked us for coming. Kind and happy to serve us. Really great Metro for a small town. Much better than many others I've been to around the province. Prices were metro average, customer service was good. Best produce in town. UPDATED 12/01/2020: VERY impressed with how this store is handling COVID-19. Cashiers are CONSTANTLY wiping everything down. So far this is the only store in town where every employee I've seen is not only wearing a mask, but is wearing it properly. The employees do a good job at making sure the customers are wearing them as well.

I shop here at least once a week, often a couple times more because I forgot something the first time, and I usually have an amazing experience. My girlfriend has quite a love for prosciutto, so I have to go to the deli a lot. Please please please ensure your staff at the deli have proper training on how to cut certain meats. I paid $15 for a bag of crumpled prosciutto that ended up being cut from the fat side meaning half my bag had to be thrown out.
