So I heard about Butcher Box through a colleague of mine as I had been complaining to her about the low quality of meat, fish, and poultry these days regardless of the amount you spend, and she directed me towards Butcher Box. The products are fresh, high quality, and conveniently brought to your door, I do not think there is much more I can say. My mother has been suffering from anemia for half a decade and since purchasing religiously from Butcher Box beginning six months ago her iron deficiency has almost subside, she is not constantly tired anymore, and does not experience shortness of breathe! It is amazing what clean, high quality sustenance can do for the body. Therefore, it is quality that matters not quantity. Do not be fooled by the serving size of the products which may state that it is a serving because the high quality of the product which is dense-full of nutrients will be plenty for your body as your body will not need a corpus amount. Quite the opposite as the higher the quality of the product the less you need to sustain and fuel on. Butcher Box has successfully done so through a quick-freeze method which locks in the freshness, and nutrients, minus the blandness. Grateful and appreciative for the high quality, meticulous and truthful service, and convenient ease.

LOVE BUTCHER BOX! The grass fed rib eyes steaks are the perfect size and simply delicious. A cast iron skillet and salt and pepper is all you need because the flavour of the meat is fantastic. The scallops and tuna steaks are also excellent. I really enjoy the beef broth. I simply heat it up and drink it. The packaging is also great. I like convenience of getting meat and seafood from the same place rather driving around to different locations.

I have been using the butcher box for almost two years now. Excellent quality meat; hence I am still a customer. They have a large variety of grass-fed grass-finished cuts. I only order beef from there since this is a genuine local farm provider (supportive of local farmers). I have tried the chicken (organic), but I didn’t see any difference in taste; therefore, I still got o my local butcher for it. I usually go with: tenderloin (fantastic), ribeye (my favorite), ground beef (a bit fattie but very tasty), and hamburgers (when I’m lazy cooking, which happens from time to time lol. The delivery process is excellent, they always send me a notification, and they are very transparent with me. I feel the customer service is on top of everything. I Recommend this business.

Butcherbox.ca is a great way to get amazing meat for a good price. I tried a lot of their products and was completely satisfied. Only reason I gave it a 4 stars and not a 5 is for the lack of information that is given on their website. I would love to see an ingredient tab on each selection and a suggested defrosting method of them so we can get the best quality. With that said, I have no complaints with this company and will be suggesting it to all my friends.

Best quality meat. Even though they are frozen . They are done with special technique to ensure the freshness of the product. It Cooks really well and has a lot of flavor compared to the regular type. Only thing is that I cod find little blood in chicken drumsticks. Other than that expect product.

So my wife and I have just about completed our first order and are pleased to try some different items on our next order. So far we have tried the steaks,burgers,ground beef,chicken, mild sausages and bacon. Oh my oh my !!! delicious. So flavourful, lean and tasty. The steaks were to die for. Can't wait to invite company over for supper to give them a taste. The day we received our package everything was frozen solid...no transition going into the freezer. The 2 biggest things for us was the grass fed AND grass finished. The "seal the deal" moment was the fact that all the products are industrial grade vacuum sealed to prevent freezer burn. When I was investigating you, some of your descriptions were ambiguous to indicate if they were vacuum packed. I don't know who Jean is but she was very prompt and courteous in replying to all my messages for information. Keep up the good job everybody.

We usually buy all our meat at Costco and there is large difference between the produce from Butcher Box and Costco, the meat is tender, all individually pack and easy to use. Failed to deliver - management avoided correcting the situation and instead blame shifted (it's the couriers fault; we are a small family company; we cant call due to Covid; etc) almost lost order to spoilage over long weekend. Product quality was ok but not worth the stress, expense and poor customer service. Gave them a chance to make this right but they were not interested (business is too good right now due to lockdown).

I love my butcher box subscription! My boyfriend and I have the occasional meat eaters for two subscription. We do 3 meat meals a week and we have plenty of meat to last us for the month. Because of the quality and how lean the meat is my boyfriend and I find we are fuller with smaller portions. I have tried almost all the items available and have not been disappointed. My favourites are the sirloin burgers, pork tenderloin, breakfast sausages, and the bacon!!! The bacon slow cooked is amazing!! Love all the flavour. Now let’s talk convenience and efficiency , I love that I can access my account and change up the items for my monthly order. Delivery is timely and I never have to worry about my meat thawing as their packaging allows for the meat to remain frozen solid. I highly recommend butcher box. I love that they support local farmers and that I can trust what’s in my meat. Several months ago we decided to try out Butcher Box, and we loved it from the first moment. Fast processing, fast delivery (we live in quite a rural area), but most of all the quality of the meats. Each package is more than you think and the flavours are amazing. We get a nice variety of beef, chicken, pork and fish. Even the kids taste the difference betweetn this and store-bought meats. The customer service is A+ and personal. One product we had ordered was out of stock and I quickly received an email with other options. 2 days later we received our box. If they can’t treat customers properly then I have no confidence in how they treat the meat I eat. Service has been terrible. Two months in a row my meat arrived late unthawed. The first month I didn’t have pictures so they didn’t respond back to me after I had. Onproof. The second month I message and was disappointed. Didn’t see why I should pay more for something when the quality has been compromised. They did apologize and suggested I skip the next few month orders until UPS sorts out delays due to weather. At no point did they offer any form of solution that would keep me as a client. They really didn’t seem to care that I was a client since was so easy to ask me to leave for a while. So I canceled my account. If they can’t treat customers properly then I have no confidence in how they treat the meat I eat.

I can't be more pleased with the quality and service of Butcher Box. I subscribed in April 2020 after researching a few similar meat services. I never had bought into the "grass fed" difference, but after tasting some of the steaks, I am a believer! My sons love the chicken wings and they have become part of our monthly "fun dinner" circuit. I also enjoy making home made tomato sauce and I tasted such a difference using the stewing beef and lean ground beef..yummy! I'm always changing up my order to try the whole line of products - but their Rib Eye Steaks will probably be a regular selection from now on. I recommend giving Butcher Box a try, I'm glad I did!

Solid choices, great meat. I've just received my 4th box. We've had monthly meat deliveries since mid-March. All the meat is conveniently vacuum packed into single serving portions, making it easy to thaw and protects against freezer burn. Packaging also makes it easy to store the meat in our drawer freezer. We've sampled most meats, my personal favourites are the breakfast sausages (nearly impossible to find gluten-free versions!) and the prime rib and sirloin burgers. The ground beef and turkey are also excellent. We get the Family of 4 box, which is enough meat for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 13, 10, as long as I supplement with a couple take out dinners or specialty item from my local butcher 1-2 times a week.

It's nice to be able to take out an already-portioned, vacuum-packed chicken drumsticks to defrost. There's enough variety that I rarely have trouble getting what I want. The products are fantastic and really good value if you’re used to purchasing free from or grass fed meat. I was wary of a subscription service but their system is really flexible. Incredibly disappointed with size and quality. Compared to another service we used before, the size was really small. Ground beef package was way too small for anymore than 2 people, it was full of gristle too. Burgers in a 5 pack makes no sense, the burgers were really tough and also all had rows gristle throughout. We have pork tenderloin and chicken breasts in the freezer that we haven't tried yet, but based on our experience so far, we're not excited. The price and flexibility is good, but doesn't offset the poor quality.

Love the product tho i admit everyones tastes and needs will be different. Me and my fiancee use this for three months now we tried the first with a wider product focus. Its all quality but slowly weve kinda focused in on a box that we feel better with. The pork tenderloin for example, whilst a quality cut, jo recipe or cooking styles we preferred really suited it well. We opted for switching that option to chicken breasts and have not regretted it. But the switching process is so intuitive and easy its nice to see by comparison. Id recommend pretty much anyone who is feeding two or more mouths give the small box a try for quality, taste and to see how far it gets you. Youll likely find its worthwhile, perhaps even if you need to size up, just for the quality of the meat alone. This even comes down to how they package it. Store packaging is designed to make you only go a week before cooking cause freezer burns. The way they properly vacuseal their meats means even the steak avoids freezer burns even if its been in there for 3 weeks. Its just as delicious as if cooked on day one (i tested this second month.) So id give a score of 10 if that was an option especially in these trying times.

I have come to love my Butcher Box orders. The ground beef is so good. I haven’t eaten ground beef in many, many years because of the way regular stores produce their ground beef. We were always using grounds turkey instead ( which I still like ) but now I have added ground beef back in our diet. The chicken breasts are delicious and a good size. We tried the stew beef which I didn’t even have to brine. It’s so soft yet lean. The bacon is thick and meaty. We also tried the Salmon, so yummy and fleshy. I’m so happy that I finally found a meat place that sells good quality and organic meats and not have to buy a whole years worth AND delivers right to my door on a month by month basis. I ordered this for my husband for Father's Day and we weren't crazy about the meat. I didn't read the obligations properly and thought that the sampler was a one time order, but then my order was renewed and I had another order on the way. I tried to cancel (because the shipment had not shipped yet) but I was told I couldn't and so I just changed the meat a bit to see if we would enjoy the next box. When we got the meat, we decided to eat the steaks first, because we enjoyed them the most out of anything the first time. We were very disappointed though because this time the meat was half fat with hardly any meat. My daughter is two and kept spitting it out because she was unable to chew it. When I contacted them about this, they did absolutely nothing except for apologize and say "well, you liked them the first time". I was VERY disappointed with customer service. After emailing a second time and sending pictures of the fat I found in the meat, the customer service representative stopped messaging me back and did nothing to rectify the issue. Very disappointed and I advise not going with this meat distributor because they are not out to help their customers achieve a good experience at all.

I wanted to wait until I had ordered a few boxes before doing a review. I just received my 4th box and the food came shrink wrapped, fully frozen and tastes just as fantastic as the first 3 boxes. I love the fact that after I get my order I can log on and cancel the subscription (I just have to remember to do so) so that I am not locked in and can order what I want when I want. The meat tastes so good even my husband (who is very picky) LOVES the baseball cut steak (which is a pretty good value), gluten free sausages, bacon, pork chops, gluten free hamburgers, and stewing beef. I absolutely love the boneless/skinless chicken breasts and the Rainbow Trout is so good! The prices are pretty good when you add in the free shipping and the better tasting meat than the grocery store offers. We also waste less food because of the individually packaged portions. We are even cooking more yummy suppers at home instead of eating out so much! I also love that the animals are raised more humanely than the commercial farms do.

Absolutely love Butcher Box! Great selection of products and the quality is superb so I no longer buy my meats and seafood at the grocery store. Everything comes frozen and is packaged perfectly so you can use the serving size you want and there’s even a different recipe card in every delivery. I am just dropping a line to let you know how I love your products. This afternoon I made a hamburger soup using a pound of your grass fed, grass finished hamburger, a container of your bone broth and some added veggies (cauliflower, broccoli and green beans) plus onions and garlic with a little spice added. Boy was I surprised! The hamburger tasted way different to what I am used to from the grocery store. Your ground beef is so flavourful and tender. The broth gives a delightful sensation to the pallet and makes me want more than I should have on my keto diet. In short I am very pleased with your products and I look forward to my next shipment! Update: April 24, 2020. I just finished the last of my previous order and I felt like I was transported back 60 plus years! Back in the days before extensive chemical additives and adding sugar to just about everything. Your products are very tasty and I feel more safe healthwise by eating organic, grass fed beef and other organic meats. Where I live, finding organic products is not an easy task. The great thing is you do not have to get a delivery every month you can skip a month no problem.
