As with most other halal meat places, the quality of meat really depends upon the person serving your order. Some people are much better at making the meat than others. What that means is some will waste more meat than others!!!
I once purchased a 5 lb piece of boneless veal and asked them to ground it. When the guy came out of the freezer (where they have the grinding machine) with a tiny bag of ground veal, I was shocked! I asked him to weigh it and it was less than 2 lbs. GO FIGURE!!! Normally I would have let it go but I thought I needed to confront them. Upon my insistence, another server got involved and went back into the freezer and came back with a bigger bag. They told me it was 'stuck' in the machine. This time it weighed around 4 lbs. I don't know if they were trying to deliberately undersell me or the server made an honest mistake. Needless to say, I have scaled back my shopping from this establishment and when I do shop here, I pay close attention to my order.
Same is true with any other piece of meat. They waste a lot of meat when cleaning the fat. Always pretend to be in a hurry even if there's no other customer. I mean what's the big hurry?!
Regular prices on their meat are slightly above average, which, given the amount of meat they waste is a double whammy. However they do have weekly specials on meat and you can generally find a good deal on lamb, veal, beef or even chicken products. Prices on other grocery items are just about average and competitive with other halal shops. They do have specials occasionally which might help you save some money.
