The meat here is so good! They cut the meat exactly the way you like it.RARELY they don’t have the kind of meat you like because it’s so common and people love it so much.It’s seriously good so if you haven’t come here it’s so good,and they also serve lunch and you can buy t-shirts and hats. I am 9 and come here with my dad all the time so there’s proof.

Can't find a better butcher than this on the westside. All the meat is amazing, always can make great dishes with the meat they source. Don't mind the higher end price at all, it's worth every bite. And get the deli meats, you won't be disappointed!

Very knowledgeable butchers, needed to pick up a last minute prime rib for NYE dinner(because the local Vons and Ralph's was out) and the woman told me the difference between the dry aged and regular PR, also helped me in choosing the best part of the PR. I'll definitely be stopping by again.

Really expensive for what it is. The sausages are just FAT. They charged me $39 for a pound of skirt steak. I pay $14 a pound at a quality butcher shop. In general their meat is usually quality, but they’ve lost perspective on any value.

Love this place. The really know meat, and how to properly butcher it. Plus their lunch bar options are the best around. They're open every day except Tuesdays now (everyone deserves a break) and they do run out of items, which I consider a good thing, as every item on the menu is freshly made. Their cuts of beef for cooking at home are all prime cuts. You can't go wrong here, and the staff is friendly, upbeat, helpful and go out of their way to guide you to make the right choices based on what you need.

This butcher shop is great. I like to know where my food comes from and they offer great info about exactly that. Staff are informed and friendly. This place has local vibes where you can just come in and they'll remember you. Prices aren't cheap but not ridiculous like bellcampo. I highly recommend this place

This review is for the prepared deli sandwiches only - which happened to be really good and flavorful, but being in Santa Monica on the more expensive end. This place is worth trying if you want a really well done sandwich where you can tell the flavor of the meat comes from attention and care - it is definitely not a quickly thrown together sandwich as most of the types are pretty unique. As for the actual butchered meats, I have yet to try them but they seemed to be a variety of exotic meats and like you'd be paying for quality.

Great butcher shop serving up premium meats at premium prices. If you want a knowledgeable butcher who is going to serve you high quality meat every time, this is the place. Also a great spot to grab lunch. They make delicious sandwiches. Seating is limited to a large common table. There are additional counters where you can stand and eat.

We enjoyed the meat market.The meat and cheeses were outstanding. We purchased beef sticks and cheese to snack on .They also had a large selection of canned goods including pickles, jelly and other canned vegetables.

Worked here for a couple weeks. I wasn't very good at my job. I admitted that I really wasn't interested in continuing and was let go. I always loved being a customer here but upon separation was told that I should not longer come on the property for any reason. This made me very sad. I sincerely hope moral improves.

Great little butcher/sandwhich shop. I went and had the banh mi sandwich, and it was wonderful. They also have jidori chicken which is local chicken that is slaughtered and delivered the same day.

This place is incredible and unbelievable that I just discovered this place after living in LA for over 3 years. My parents came to town and I wanted to cook a couple big league dinners. This butcher delivered the beef! I got some porterhouses and some bone-in ribeyes. They cut them the thickness you need to optimize the flavor of the beef, taking into consideration your proposed cooking method. I slow cooked the porterhouses over low heat on my Weber grill with chunks of hickory. Being from the Midwest and taking beef seriously, I have to say these cuts were boss. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had anywhere. Do yourself a favor and skip the expensive steakhouses and get your USDA Prime beef here!

Very casual place that is essentially a butcher shop with tables. We ordered the philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered some deep fried balls of meat with a tender breading on the outside. Served on a bed of bean puree. Not sure what are called but they disappeared in about 2 minutes. Very tasty food and friendly staff. Will return many times.

I’m beyond stoked to call ACA my butcher and Sammy shop of choice. My recipes taste infinitely better when cooking with their meat - whether it’s chicken soup or braised short rib - Buy their meat!!! But you will also probably end up getting a sandwich since they are incredible too ????????????⭐️

Very special spot. An open, quaint, quality butcher shop that uses their high quality meats in sammies and the like. +1 for grass-fed beef +1 for in-house charcuterie +1 for great selection of freshly butchered meats +1 for eat-in menu, (charcuterie, sammies, salads, soup) +1 steak burger that you can eat raw -0.5 for putting blue cheese on the burger. This hid the amazing flavor of the meat. A burger like that should have a mild cheese.

I had heard of this place before and assumed A Cut Above was some pun for a salon or something. Wrong. It is perhaps the best sandwiches in the greater LA area. They're BIG and MEATY and the FLAVOR is multiple levels of unexpected satisfaction. Pricing is in line with, say, Mendocino Farms but quality and portion is leaps and bounds higher. If you're working at the Colorado Center or Water Garden, stop wasting time with those underwhelming food courts and check this place out.

Just discovered this place; bought some really lovely spicy Italian sausages (made in house) and bacon. The bacon is just on a completely different level, absolutely delicious smoke flavor and really meaty. Everyone working was knowledgable about the meat and very helpful (and friendly!) in answering my questions. I’m really excited to go back and try more cuts.

Okay so I was at the hospital visiting my pops and afterwords I took a walk too clear the head. I saw this place and gave it a try. I got the pastrami sandwich it was freaking amazing! And only was about $13 it comes packed with meat 10/10 the munchies were satisfied I would of taken a picture but I destroyed it before I could????

Amazing brined whole chickens. It’s tied perfectly, seasoned and ready to go out of the cellophane Brushed the skin with a bit more olive oil then put it on the grill. 4lb bird. 30 min w the outside burners on high and the 2 inside on low for 450 degree temp Then turned off middle burners and put outside on medium for 325-350 for 45 minutes longer Let rest 15-20 min. Perfect crispy skin. Incredible flavor dark to light meat. Sweet from the brine like dessert. Incredibly tender and juicy Perfection!

You know , I have passed by this place several times dropping my kid off at school. Finally decided to give it a try and I'm almost kicking myself for not doing so earlier. The seating is smaller than you would expect; I assume most get there offerings to go, but if the rest of the menu is as good as the BBQ pulled pork sandwich that I ordered then I get it. Definitely can't wait to try the rest of the menu , and from what I can tell it changes often. Plus side the cuts of meat looked immaculate.....

Best butcher in SoCal. When I lived in Westwood I’d always come by to get the marinated pork chops or steaks. Their sausages are also great. Can’t wait for covid to be over so I can get a hot dog and Manchego and date salad.

I say it every time I'm there and it's time you all know. This is the best hamburger in Los Angeles. The meat is as good as all the other reviews suggest. Buttery, delicious grind. Sweet caramelized onions and blue cheese. Russian Dressing? Crisp Lettuce and fresh tomato. Reminds me of Peter Luger, iirc. Dont tell anyone. Dont miss it.

This place has everything, from oxtail to tongue to beef cheeks to pig ears, and an amazing selection of grass-fed and prime beef. Their house made bacon is the best in town. Their country pate is awesome. They carry duck fat and leaf lard and chicken schmaltz. I get a fresh goose from them every Xmas. Their brined jidori chicken is perfect for throwing in the oven to make an easy roast dinner.

Finally had the chance to try this spot. I order the lemongrass steak banh mi sandwich which I've had before in vietnamese restaurants and was very good. Now this one was okay, nothing special. The steak was chewy, with not much taste to it. Felt the fish sauce over powered the sandwich it self way too much, and definitely not worth 14 dollars. 4 star due to great service, very clean, and friend staff. The co-workers I went with, really like their food which is a good thing, maybe the particular sandwich I got was just not having it. Would like to try other items on the menu to see it they are up to par with the many positive review online.

Great old style butcher. Custom order to your specs. Bone a duck, Marinate, skin, and slice beef tongue. They have the best hamburger on the west side. Try the Cuban sandwich. A little pricey normal for the west side. Parking in the rear.

We purchased prime Filets for Christmas. The cut and flavor were exceptional. The four pieces we got were as good as any piece of meat you get at a high end steakhouse and in some instances better. They know a cow inside and out and can walk you through getting the exact cut you want. Delivery with Covid was perfect, pull up, give name, get meat. And this was on a busy, rainy day. The price was inline with any quality grocery store or other butcher and the cuts were better. The rest of the family was amazed how good they were and we all agreed we would rather enjoy these steaks at home than go out. Quick research online tells you exactly how to prepare them which also helped. Olive oil in a skillet, pepper and COARSE salt on the outside. The salt will dissolve during cooking and helps with the outer sear. 5 minutes each side then but some butter on top and into a 450 oven for 3-7 minutes depending on how you like it finished. Can't wait to go back and am grateful to Cut Above for making a tough Christmas a real treat.

I moved to the valley and still drive to the west side for the this butcher. Really friendly, lots of variety so we can try making different stuff like pork belly or leg of lamb, and has some cool house-made stuff like beef bacon and sausages which are really good. Sandwiches are supreme.
