I went in to the store to pick up three items and walked up to the express till which had no lineup...I put my items down and was approached by a young lady who said I had to go to the other end of the store and lineup; I said no as I would have been gone in ten seconds but NO....I was approached by a group of your employees that caused a scene in front of other customers, insulting me and grouping up like a gang and surrounding me yelling; the instigator was an older women with dark hair (pony tail I believe) and glasses, she escalated the situation unnecessarily telling the cashier not to serve me and caused a problem that wasn't there. I have never felt so threatened and intimidated by going to a grocery store. I am a Chinese Canadian who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and this incident caused me to react in a manner that I try to avoid; ganging up, bullying, intimidation is no way to run a business; as you can see by the review I have attached below, this is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed. I have never been so insulted or treated so poorly by a Safeway employee as this morning. There were NO marked signs when you approach tills from the Deli saying to line up somewhere. I was screamed and yelled at by a customer at the other end of the store. Your cashier corrected her and said 'no signs anymore directing customers'. So I returned to my till. More yelling and screaming from her, but this time also from an employee of yours, she approached yelling at me to lineup opposite side of the store. Yelling at me that I'm a 'TYPICAL MAN'. Real classy store, real classy employees Chilliwack. Get your signs up, get your signs straight, stop hiring 55+ angry employees.

My husband went to the meat department and the butcher was so helpful. We were looking for a pork loin roast to stuff for Christmas and he found him a good size roast and even butterflied it for us. Great service and so friendly!

Went to purchase groceries here as I am new to the Sardis-Chilliwack area. Customer service was polite and helpful. The cashier was also friendly. Prices are about average to everywhere else in town.

It's a good store. Staff are usually pretty friendly and the store is well kept. They have a quiet hour that was on Thursday nights from 6-7 when they dim the lights slightly and quiet the music for those who struggle with the sensory input of a busy store. Love their willingness to do this for customers.

Walked to customer service desk to buy stamps after my checkout person told me to go there. O stand there for several minutes then am told the service desk is closed and i have to go back into the massive line up yet again to get what i need. Wont be shopping here again

The Friday before Valentines day my boyfriend has arranged flowers to be delivered to my work (awww how sweet lol) I guess they were supposed to be delivered in the morning but didn't arrive till the afternoon, which is understandable with flower deliveries before valentines. BUT....... the floral department went above and beyond , not only did the lady keep apologizing when they were dropped off but they themselves sent a card and chocolates. For staff to be so thoughtful now a days is amazing!! Thank you ladies you made my day!

I really do love Safeway because of the selection that they have and just the atmosphere itself, its the complete opposite of Walmart that's for sure. It feels comfy there for some reason.. the only downfall is that it is a bit pricey but on the other hand you do get a discount on fuel when you spend a certain amount of money on groceries.

Haven't shopped here for a month or more but wasnt very happy or surprised go see everything from produce to meat has quietly gone up quite a bit! It was more to purchase 3 porchops then it was fir a nice big roast beef...unbelievably high prices!

Place is very clean and well staffed. They have a really good produce, meat and bakery department. The meat department is great for me because they have smaller portions that suit a couple instead of huge multi packs. The bakery has beautiful breads, pastries and doughnuts.

Terrible line up situation!! They make you line up close to the floral department, then don’t control it when random shoppers skip the line because they didn’t know there was a lineup!! You end up standing in line longer! Won’t shop there again.
