Staff was very rude acted like I was inconveniencing them by wanting to purchase items from their store. The food is by far the best meat I’ve ever tasted but I am disgusted by the horrendous behavior of the young millennial women working behind that counter. Still the summer sausage slaps.

Good traditional Dutch deli. Parking is easy. Finding it is a bit tricky. Staff need training on wearing a mask. Plastic face shield does not work.

First Experience and my last - First impressions are lasting ones and small business need to be aware of that to stay competitive with other business's and the larger companies such as Save-On-Foods. I called ahead for pork back ribs, arrived 15 min later and was shown where they were being stored. I noticed the sign 1 side $11.49 3 for $30. I decided I needed 4 in total. I went to the counter and said to the female staff members working behind the counter: "I would like to negotiate a price, these are 3 for $30 so can I have 4 for $40 since you are giving a bulk discount?" She didn't' know the answer so asked another female staff members behind the counter who stopped cleaning the slicer and walked over and replied in a very abrupt, condescending and rude way: "No we can't do that, the prices are as listed you will get 3 for $30 and pay the full price for the last one". A bit surprised I said: "Really? odd as that promotion is for a bulk discount". I asked the original girl to ring it through when she asked if I wanted a bag for $.0.25. I am sure I rolled my eyes as it seems there is no retailer anyplace that is not prepared to charge you for a bag any longer, as if we all walk around with bags in our hands for every purchase - gone is the day they were provided for convenience and courtesy. So I asked why they were $0.25? She produced a paper bag and replied: "We don't give out plastic bags any longer" I was a but surprised as the meat clearly needed to be in plastic, the wrapping around the ribs was not vacuum sealed and as soon as the ribs would begin to thaw the raw pork juice would be leaking everywhere. I told her I would run to my car and bring in my own bag. As much as I would have been disappointed they could not offer me the bulk discount for the 4 ribs, had the staff member been polite, courteous and friendly I would have just understood it was store policy. Due to her reply, compounded with the other staff member not providing plastic bag for a produce that clearly required one, is enough for me to never return to this butcher ever! This would never happen if I went to Save-On-Foods, they would have offered to re-wrap the ribs for me on the spot.

I called in to see what time they closed on Christmas Eve. They said 13 minutes. I made it there in 10, the door was open, but they refused to sell me anything. Very disappointed as it was a key ingredient in a dish I was making for my parents that I forgot at home. I won't be coming back again.

Great products but odd cashier. Had to wait to pay for a long time while the first lady spent over $600. I was 2nd in line. Not once did the cashier look my way. All she needed to do was say thanks for your patience....I will be with you shortly.

I experienced appalling behaviour by one of the staff members at this establishment. After spending a lot of money there for several months. I was polite, always knew what I wanted before I went in there and I am always friendly in public. I have receipts going back to October 2015, with the total spent being $1375. I certainly don't deserve what I experienced. Furthermore, the owners will always stand up for their rude staff, no matter how bad their behaviour may be. There are much better, friendlier places to buy your meat in Abbotsford. You want to see friendly? Hit up the Mad Butcher. They're fantastic there.

This is a good store with some great European products. Service is hit and miss. They are usually helpful and friendly but every once in a while I hit a sour one. I wish they would spend more time training the girls how to properly slice meats. Overall a good store and I shop there regularly. Years ago when Karl was there all the time service was amazing. I can recommend this deli.

Horrible experience getting a half side of beef butchered here. Cuts were bad, wrong, not as per our request (re thickness) and full of gristle. Not the problem with the meat, just the butchering. Complaints were met with defensive and rude language. You call that a short rib? Next time I'll go to Costco.

Great family run business that knows customer service through-and-through. Specializes in Dutch foods, I think also German too. They'll even slice your meat, cheese and related foods that might require slicing. Mom almost swears (not in her nature to) by making certain to go in from time-to-time.
