In my professional opinion. Mercatos is very overrated and very overpriced. There are many grocery stores out there with the same products priced @ 1 to 2 dollars less than Mercatos. There's also alot of rave regarding they're fried chicken, in my opinion, there is better out there aswell.

Day trip to Chatham today with girlfriend's to show them Mercato's. They have high end quality groceries for down to earth prices. Meat department is packed full with plenty quality cuts. The bakery look out .....as Cheesecake heaven plus many more other choices. Deli is stocked well. Staff are pleasant and very helpful. Must visit if you haven't

I have been going here since it opened. Just to get your meat and poultry is worth the visit but there is always fresh local produce, specials that are great savings and the staff takes covid seriously ( too bad some customers don't ). I highly suggest you go and get everything you need to make your perfect pizza including their homemade dough. Go and enjoy guality.

I was in Mercatos today shopping and I noticed the Security Guard had to explain to a few people to put on they're masks properly. After a year of living with masks, I honestly don't get why this should be an issue. Anyhow, the Staff and the Security Guard are doing a great job and are on par when it comes to Customer Service. They also have great deals and are a great place to shop for groceries. One of the best, in my opinion in Chatham.

Very basic. Small store, not much stocked. I came around 11am to try their breaded chicken and wedges and they weren't ready. The employee told me they'd be ready in 15 minutes. Then I told him that I wanted to buy white meat and he told me sorry the dark meat is cooking and will be ready in 15 min but then it will be another 20 min to cook the wedges. Bad first time experience. I likely wouldn't go back to their store.

The one store I feel safest shopping at during this pandemic. They abide by what is set in place for health measures and they make sure people and staff adhere to it. Masks are a must to enter. They even offer free local delivery and/or curb side pickup for those who can't or won't wear a mask in the store. It is a clean store with friendly staff, and great selections of most anything you need for groceries. Wish more shopping businesses would run like this. Glad they opened in our city!

Fresh produce, special mention requires for the meats. Chicken is awesome. We dont eat pork or beef but they look very fresh. Their frozen lamb is amazing. The bakery is very good. Fresh baked sweets n savouries and the lipsmacking cakes are too good. Another important aspect is their ready meals. Soups, salads, whole grilled chicken and small assorted meal boxes are affordable, healthy and tasty.

I love Mercatos. Totally unfamiliar with this business until we popped in when we moved down here in April and sat eating half a bucket of their fried chicken in the parking lot after buying it. Super fresh quality vegetables, huge affordable selection of meats. I truly believe they work really hard to keep prices as low as possible for their patrons. Staff is super friendly. Love the bakery choices albeit have to somewhat abstain due to diabetes. Often have my favorite strip loins on sale. Super clean and lots of deals each week. Nice size cakes avaliable. Always a clean, enjoyable shopping experience.

I was taken back by the lack of plexy glass infront of the tellers during these trying times. I asked a teller why they didn't have plexy glass and she was visibly very upset they didn't. As a corporate responsibility they should have plexy glass installed at all tellers and put your valued employees minds at ease.

The Security Guard is very friendly . I've been to many places that have Security at the front entrance since Covid started , however , they're usually very quiet and don't say much . However , the Security Guard at Mercatos is willing to go above and beyond and say hello with a smile to make our shopping experience a happy one . Thank you for all you do by keeping us safe . European style food store - what a pleasure! Smashing fresh Bakery where Euro cakes vary in price from $12 - $27 (same as in Walmart) but here no "boxed" flavour - awesome variety plus the fruit, cream, nuts are ultra-fresh ???? Squares and pastries stuffed to the brim from 79c/piece... Tea Time! ???? Generous fresh cooked meal packages for $10 to take home or how about freshly sliced fruit? ???? The cold Deli has a good selection of cold meats and cheese, while the packaged Meat dept has selection and variety unseen in the local food chain stores. There is even a cute food bar where you can enjoy a snack break - (COVID-19 vaccine certificate required to sit down) Mercato has just become my new happy food hunting ground - again thank you Mercato, what a delightful surprise ???? ????

Disappointed on my first visit to find they were sold out of family pack chicken breasts advertised in the flyer. They did however have plenty chicken beasts in smaller packages not offered at the sale price. I won't be lured by the flyer again. Follow up to owners responce: I waited in line behind 3 customers and did speak the woman at the butcher counter who went out to the meat isle to confim the shelf was empty. She then went to ask the butcher which took some time to locate. When she did return she apologized that you were sold out. Speaking to your staff was a waist of time.

Our second visit on June 27th. We were in the market to purchase fresh Pasta. Since the Pasta House in Windsor was closed, their website stated their product was available at Mercato. We decided to try again hoping things would be better from our first visit. We could not locate fresh pasta from the Pasta House. Maybe they sell it in then premade food section. Not what we were looking for. As we searched through out the store, we kept noticing this hideous smell. The smell got stronger the closer we got to the meat section. It was raw meat/rotting smell not appealing at all. This was our last and final trip to Mercato. Went to Sobeys and purchased what we needed. We came; We Saw; We Left The hype build up for this new store does not live up to the expectations. I was expecting a specialty grocery shop, with an butcher counter for specialized orders, fresh seafood, on site bakery What they provide is a large premade meal section. - bakery section that brings in product from else where. No fresh baked product on site - frozen seafood nothing fresh No butcher counter, a lot of prepackaged meat, including frozen and regular. The quality of their meat offering seems to be the lowest grade. You're better off shopping at Costco or Sobeys, at least they provide better quality. - the other point is in their ads the store was to cover most the old Target store. All I can say is I will not be shopping at Mercato Fresh.

I have been shopping here since the store opened driving from sarnia every couple weeks or more I like the store and other than a bad briskett one time that they replaced no problem I haven't had any issues until today I was discriminated against because I didn't have a mask on because I forgot one I was in shopping for awhile and then was told I need a mask by the deli attendant after he watched me stand in line for 5 minutes I said no thanks and headed to check out and a lady I'm assuming the manager brought a mask (in her hand not very sanitary I'm sure she didn't go wash before she grabbed it)and was bugging me to put it on or I couldn't check out so I did because I drove from sarnia so didn't wanna waste a trip but I will definitely not b shopping here anymore I refuse to support businesses that discriminate

They have a couple unique things that the other grocery stores don't have. The cashier person was very nice. She was great! The problem with the store is that they never have any of their advertised breaded chicken nor roast chicken available. No wedges. Nothing made. I've come before 12 and at 4pm. None of the other stores that sell BBQ or fried chicken have none at those times. We bought brownies from their bakery and they were stale and tasted like pistachio. Ew! It was horrible. Where was the chocolate? It was also difficult to find anyone to serve us. 4 cilustomers standing waiting.

Love this store, it's a 45 minute drive for us to get there, 99 percent of the time it's fantastic, was a little sad at not being able to get chicken wings, what we went for, only to see the following week's flyer has wings their special. They could have at least had a little stock left on shelves for the regular customers. Hmmm

I am always amazed at the sale prices for their meats. I use their weekly flyer to plan my meals. Their cold cut and cheese selection is second to none. I try new cheeses all the time! Especially for chefed up grilled cheese sandwiches. All my friends agree!

I shop at Mercato at least twice a week, sometimes more. They always have what I'm looking for whether it's a full shop, last minute items or prepared foods. The products are always fresh and reasonably priced, but the most important thing is the customer service. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. I must particularly comment on a certain cashier. From day one, she's been the one I've been served by the most. The last few months when I've gone in, I noticed she wasn't there. I thought maybe I went on her off day. Time went by and still she wasn't there. I finally saw her today and was so happy to see she was back. Her name is Helene!! Every time I've been to her, she's treated me like family. She's a valuable asset to Mercato making customers feel welcome always! Thank you Helene for being so amazing!!

If you like prime rib and beef tenderloin it's half the price of the Superstore and it tastes better. Just cooked a whole chicken that was to die for. I bought a large package that had 7 bone in pork chops for $6.00. I get all my meat here now.

My "go to" spot for gourmet quality BBQ meat/ingredients and creative and convenient prepared meals (way better than take out!). Whenever I have a food question, employees usually stop what they are doing and walk me right to the product or pull the chef out of the kitchen to speak withe ...customer service anyone? (Yes they have chef on staff). Much appreciation for their recent lunch they prepared for area emergency first responders. Very considerate.

Nice place. I like the selection of things there. Owner seems very nice. Only thing I hope they do is have jalapenos out like the rest of the fresh veggies are. Jalapenos you can grab and put in a clear bag instead of packaged. Prices on things could be lower considering you gotta keep up with the competition around Chatham. They're missing fresh brussel sprouts. Other than that the place is pretty good. Good prices on meat. They have a fresh deli and cake counter. I heard they'll have freshly made sushi as well, just didn't see it last 2 times I've gone there.

Great place. It's new so they're adjusting which is normal for any business in the first few months. Owners and staff are supportive and are sure to work with anyone who is looking for something specific. If you order it, I'm sure they would source it for you knowing you'll be back. The famous Windsor Sushi by Chef Ted - Tiki Sushi, makes fresh sushi daily so definitely something you want to grab on your every visit. I look forward to returning there and definitely suggest you check it out.

Great selection and great deals. Have only had a few small issues. Not with quality of product but sometimes I wonder if they have new butchers in that dont know what they are doing. For example chicken wings purchased were mangled I could barely tell what piece of the wing it was. Or most recently purchased rack of lamb and we could cut through it to make the pops as the breast bone was still attached attaching all the little ribs. Just poopy to have that, however meager and produce as well as bakery always wonderful.

Checked it out on a Tues morning when it wasn't to busy. Good variety of fresh fruits and veggies. Not a lot of any one thing. Good variety of meats,fresh and frozen. Not a big variety of ordinary staples tho. A few oddball and hard to find items. Deff worth checking out. Dont think I would want to count on them for all my groceries tho. All in all not a bad visit. Loved their sushi.

Great prices on alot of items if you know how to shop and know your numbers. I walked 4km to get the lean ground beef, I was disappointed when I got there because they were sold out. They said they might have more tomorrow. They had lots of extra lean ground beef so I asked the lady behind the deli if I could get some for $2.99 a pound same as the lean ground beef. I explained that it was my 1st visit there and I walked 4km to get there. She checked with the manager and she said that they would price match this time. I want to thank the staff for their compassion and understanding during these difficult times.

Very disappointed. I tried shopping at this store without a mask (I have a medical exemption). An employee came to bring me a box of masks, and asked me to put one on, to which I replied “I have a medical exemption.” The employee replied, “sorry we don’t do that here” as if I’d handed her an expired coupon, showing little compassion. I am very unhappy with the fact that they refused to serve me because I am unable to wear a mask, despite me disclosing I have a medical exemption.

Hands down, an amazing store. My first experience at Marcato was excellent. I pre ordered the sushi platter on Friday to pick up for Sunday. Everything was done through email and the prompt replies and communication was great. I picked up my plater on Sunday and I was speechless. The sushi, the presentation, and the quality was a 10/10. I’ll never eat or order sushi from the other two places in town. Thanks again to the staff and Nino from Marcato, you and your team are amazing!
