Really poor customer service in the bakery. We ordered a cake days in advance for a birthday, explained the cake we wanted, and we were assured that the right cake would be made and ready. The day of pick up, we receive a call saying “not sure what kind of cake you want, so I just made a basic cake for you” when we explained that this isn’t what we ordered and why would you wait until the day of (literally as we’re getting ready to come pick it up) to let us know, we could have ordered it from somewhere else, the response “well, we don’t make that cake, and you don’t have to pick up this cake if you don’t want it” No apology, no nothing. Click* I really could care less about the cake, it was just their lack of an apology, service or care that they screwed up and didn’t take any accountability for it

This Thrifty foods is a very comfortable supermarket. It's clean, modern and fresh. Its set up reminds me of Whole Foods or Urban Foods. However the price also reminds me why I don't go to Wholefoods much anymore. My Aunt went to get a pack of 3chocolate covered popsicles. She paid over $7.00 + tax. With Superstore and Walmart Supercenter just across the street from Thrifty Foods I have little incentive to come here often.

My least favorite grocery store in the area. Yes their prices are high, but that's somewhat justified by the quality of their products. My issue is that they're SOOO SLOW. The staff move at a snails pace...at the pharmacy counter, at the fish counter, at the cashier and customer service...expect to wait a while. Come here only if you're looking for a leisurely stroll around a grocery store, or if you're trying to befriend Thriftys employees. Don't come here if you're just trying to pick up something quick for dinner.

We don't do the majority of our shopping here because it's significantly more expensive than some other grocery stores; however, we go by regularly for some items that we can't get elsewhere. The store is very clean, very well laid out and the staff are friendly. We also go to the pharmacy here exclusively because Zach (the pharmacist) delivers the best customer service from any medical professional I've encountered ever.

If you want a really cool looking cake, send the bakery here a photo of what you want!! They do custom everything on their cakes. The meat department here is also great. The prices here may be a bit more then competition grocery stores, but the quality in each department is worth it. Plus airmiles!

We don't have The Whole Foods in South Surrey. This is closest you can get to healthy food. I love design of the store and large selection of organic food and healthy food in general. I would say this is a go to place for good produce, cheese selection, meet and whole wheat options.

Watch the flyer and you can usually find 2 or 3 particularly well-priced items (like anywhere). Quality is reasonable. They used to push local suppliers. I go every month or so to stock up on something.

Not the usual today. Produce was lacking with a few missing essential items, onions were not great for example, there was no veal available in the last department and packaging at the checkout was not impressive, leaving me , a senior, with a few articles not in bags which I had to haul individually. I might not have said this before (sorry if I did) but this place is the one of there better stores in how there set up perfect in every way (and I do mean that ! ) So if your any ware near White Rock/south Surrey and your in need of some groceries then go check this store out I personally like there fresh Herb part of the store makes you want to go home and cook up a beautiful meal up BUT ! again eze up on you guys profit margin please ! You'd be having a hole new client-tell telling there family and friends about your stores hear I'll give u an example 7.85c for a loaf of bread ( ya I know) it's not your call on what a supplier charges you but your markup is in your control take a little less get a hole lot more and keep up what your doing please (well other that the pricing lol) hey it's my own thoughts on this matter so people if you haven't been there it's worth the time to head there for your food shopping thanks Jude

This grocery store has a good selection of goods. This was my first time at this grocery store and I had expected friendly customer service like that of Fresh Street Market. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. In terms of the staff at the meat counter, my experience was less than stellar. The staff were rude and impatient--openly rolling their eyes when customers were deliberating about the cut of meat they wanted. To the store's credit, the cashier was polite and friendly.

I ordered about $200 dollars from the Thriftys online store. When the truck arrived they couldn't figure out the address even though it was clearly labeled on the house. After inspecting the items there were a couple packs of hamburgers missing. I inform the store and they said they'd bring them in the next day. The guy gets here late then proceeds to bang on the front door very loudly as if i should answer the door withing 2 seconds of his arrival. I come out at tell him to give me the package. I told him to never bang on the door and to go away. The next thing I know some belligerent nasty manager from thrifts accuses me of being unfriendly to the staff. I couldn't believe what was happening. Instead of them apologizing for their owns staffs bad behavior they start berating me for actually telling the guy to stop banging on the front door. He was terribly nasty, late, and had the nerve to start banging very loudly on the front door. This place is terrible. Never order anything online from them, they will get your order wrong, then they won't show up on time to deliver the missing item, and will start bashing on your door if you don't answer it in 2 seconds. It's the worst of the worst for online grocery shopping.
