Since they opened, I have always delighted in the trips I take to Trotters. The meats they prepare are simply delectable and it's nice to know where the meat I'm bringing home to my family actually comes from; local farmers that raise their livestock naturally and humane. And what a difference from the swill the grocery chains force upon us!! Pork chops that defy all reason!! A variety of sausages that is sure to keep one coming back for the next new flavour, ground beef that will add an entirely new dimension to lasagne, spaghetti, or even burgers. Charcuterie platters filled with meats and cheeses that will leave you feeling fully satiated, more than any sex ever could. Even the pigs ear dog treats are leagues beyond anything I've ever seen. If you've not paid a trip to Trotters, you've not eaten meat. Period.

Was recommended to try here when looking for pork belly for porchetta. They had exactly what I was looking for, gave me advice for how to do it and prepared the pork belly and loin so all we had to do was season it an pop it in the oven. I was very impressed.

Oh my goodness! Amazing bison meat! So flavorful, the owner was so helpful on how to prepare and cook our purchases. This is a fantastic butcher shop with great selection and true passion. Black Powder Bison - Grass fed from Elora available at Trotters Butcher Shop and Charcuterie 42 Cork Street Guelph, GET IN HERE! There are a ton of other items here that you will want for your next meal. 2 striploins, 1 bison steak, and 2 Chorizio Sausages... $60.. these ingredients would make 3 high end full gourmet meals for 2.. whereas you could go to a restaurant for 2 for 1 meal.. and spend $80.00 there is a lot to be said about cooking at home..

Love this place. I'm conflicted because I want to keep this place a secret, but it's fair to say that they make really excellent salami here. Got an orange walnut one before Christmas and it was the best ever.

Great quality local products, fantastic staff, convenient location. They have a nice selection of meats the usual pork and beef, but also Bison and Lamb. We order a rabbit for Easter dinner, picked up some great charcuterie while we were in.

Nice selection of products, can't wait to try the chorizo in some breakfast tacos this week. I was also really happy that the gentleman who served us (assuming he was the owner) was a really nice person. I've been in a few cool butchers shops where the staff were too cool to serve properly. The person we spoke with there was a really nice guy, interested and enthusiastic about his products and food in general. I'll be back for sure.

We have been ordering the Essentials meat box since the Covid 19 restrictions. They deliver on Fridays and put together some great combinations. We just ate the amazing stuffed chicken breast which was huge and stuffed with goat cheese! And we appreciated the recipe sent with the cut of beef cheek- which is up next to try. Highly recommend checking out the weekly box!

Fantastic meats, local, great staff, hard to find items. Orange walnut and scaucisson sec is fantastic. Great local sauces, and the tee shirts are super cool ????
