Exceptional service and quality of products! I wanted to treat my friend to a home cooked 2-inch filet mignon with homemade Bearnaise sauce and got rave reviews, and that's thanks in part to the nice thick cuts of tenderloin from this conveniently located shop! The shop was largely open concept save for one small room to the side where I presume they carry out clerical tasks, and the rest of the space was where you could observe them doing their work. Friendly atmosphere and staff. The price was about 5 dollars less than I anticipated too so that was a bonus. Will return :) Pic is of the cooked final product. Some kitchen work required ;)

Great quality, delicious meats. The burgers are a standout in my house! I recommend following them on Instagram for info about weekly specials as well as tips and videos about cooking their products. The staff is great. The only downside for me is the price. It’s more than I would normally pay at a grocery store. Of course the trade off is the quality, but it may be a barrier for some. I can’t afford to buy my meats here exclusively.

I literally spent a whole day at working thinking they must have forgotten to ring something through because there was no way I got all of that meat for that little. I had to doublecheck the receipt when I got home to make sure it was correct. It was. This place has amazing prices and even better quality of products. They're more than just a butcher shop too, they do local produce like milk and eggs and butter as well! I do almost all of my grocery shopping here.

My husband and I moved to the area last year and our options for butchers in the town we moved from were very slim. As the resident food lover and cook in our house, I was really excited to learn about Forequarter on instagram in early 2020. I first visited in January to pick up some striploin steaks for my husband's birthday and I was immediately hooked - not only are the selections fantastic, but, I'm not gonna lie to you - the shop smells intoxicating. I told my husband it's what I imagine heaven smells like. The steaks we got were out of this world and I knew we'd be back. Since the pandemic hit, Forequarter has moved to online, contactless ordering + pickup. We decided to try out their ribeye steaks and meatballs - the meatballs are some of the best either of us had ever had. We put in another order less than 10 days later (for more ribeye steak and meatballs). I already know everything is going to be delicious. Seriously - I cannot recommend them enough. Small businesses are so vital to our community and our economy - please consider giving Forequarter Butcher your business during these unprecedented times. I can assure you that you won't regret it.

Great butcher shop. Fresh local meats. Great staff. Will cut to order. Reasonable prices and, this comment may seem weird but...they carry a fantastic brand of charcoal. The brand is Fogo. My family and I prefer the flavour of charcoal grilled food over gas grilled so we have a nice charcoal grill. This is the best charcoal we have ever tried.

Hands down the best butcher shop. I feel so lucky and grateful to have this shop in my neighbourhood! Everything from their prepared products (Korean ribs - my personal fave!) To their classics (burgers, sausages, etc.) Are of such top quality and flavour. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality you are receiving. Having french parents I'm always on the hunt for ingredients reminiscent of time spent visiting family there. The merguez sausage packs all of the flavour of the authentic one you can get in France. I love to top this on my home made lamb couscous for a tasty meal! The kind and wonderful team at Forequarter are too knotch and always make sure you're fully satisfied - always willing to accommodate special requests (I love that vacuum sealed meat for my freezer!) I'm new to KW area and was looking for a butcher shop. Seeing an exceptionally high rating, I decided to give Forequarter Butcher Shop a try and get a nice thick steak. And my oh my, did I get some. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. It was the best steak I had, ever. There price is on par, or even cheaper than most grocery store and the quality is just phenomenal. I'm no chef, just learnt a few tricks on cooking a good cut of meat from YouTube and that definitely helped. I recommend you dry brine your steak (optional), use the "reverse searing method", and since it's winter and I'm not into using the barbeque at -10 degree weather, use a cast iron pan. You can thank me later.

This place is a welcome addition to the city. Walking in makes you feel like ypu have been there a thousand times. The guys behind the counter are laid back and know their stuff. Dont see what you wan?, ask them they will usually be able to cut it for you. Weekly specials are kind of set in stone but they will mix it up every so often. Check out their IG or FB and see what the week has. Locally sourced and to say fresh is an understatement. Just go grab something i guarentee it will be great!!

Beef Wellington was a huge success! I wanted to make a special birthday meal for my husband and our family of 9 and decided that I would try to make Beef Wellington. I heard about your shop from a friend and thought that I would go and see what you had. The butcher listened to what I wanted to make and did an excellent job trimming two beautiful center cut pieces of beef tenderloin. Forequarter is a small independent business that sources its meats from local farms. The staff is helpful and service is fast. Prices are significantly higher than what you would pay at the big grocery store chains, but for me, the increased cost is worth the value of supporting local businesses and farmers who aren't running large industrial operations. Of course, just being local doesn't mean that the products are exceptional. Fortunately, on this front, Forequarter provides top rate products as well. The prime rib I recently ordered was fresh, tender, and was enjoyed by the whole family, but I'll let you judge yourself by the photos. My family doesn't eat a lot of meat, but for the occasions where I want something special, this butcher shop will be high on my list. Definitely recommended.
