I have been in Cambridge since 2001 and baba bazar got their name after buying one other shop. They have been amazing people. I love to shop there. I found them to be very helpful and very humble people. All of them. Feels like family always. I usually don’t write reviews but sometimes when extra ordinary things happen I can’t resist. Their store might seems small but they have almost everything we need from sun continent. Keep up the good work.

It's a great place don't get me wrong. But people from different cultures can't read the Urdu or Indian written in places coming from a Pakistani tradition these guys are great butchers and they carry great snacks but lots of items are expired or not in stock and to mention there are no bathrooms.

I went there on Wednesday and thankfully I walked out of the store before getting anything. Thet had around 8 packs of shan chilli masala which were expired on April. I informed them and asked if they can find at the back which are not expired. I was told by the gentleman who picked up all the expired boxes that this particular spice is not sold frequently that's why its expired. I ordered 2 whole chicken and they took 35 mins to cut 2 chicken. There was no customer except for me and my kids. The old guy in meat section had no mask ,no hairnet.the 2 boys who were in meat section 1 of them had mask below his upper lips 2nd one had mask on his neck and he had long untie hair,beard and mostache on loose without any hair net or mask. The guy cutting.my chicken went out of the store with same gloves and came back to cut my chicken. This was my first and last time here as my friend said prices here are less then other meat store. But now I prefer paying little more to atleast get meat which is processed in a clean environment. I might have taken the chicken but my 12 years son and 11 years were complaining and didn't wanted to eat the chicken. Kids are smart these days as they are been told to wear mask properly and if they see someone without a mask or improper mask they complain. I wish you guys good luck.

Very costly items on an average rates of daily needs of stuff.. compared to other Indian grocery shops, viz. local vendors like Ilyas bhol's Van, Saleem Cheena's Van, Best Indian Grocers on townline rd, India Town in Scarborough, etc.. don't b amazed if u find any expired items there.. but overall friendliness in the store is quite appreciated, nice.

Awesome place to go and find many Eastern Indian and Asian cooking supplies, exotic fruits and vegetables. They do a Moneygram service and the Staff are always pleased to see you and eager to help. The prices are very reasonable for bottled sauces and treats. I would definitely recommend trying what they have to offer! Don't forget, Thursdays, they get in fresh Samosa and mangos!

Best place for a quick shopping stop daily or weekly. Cereals, grains, flour, rice, frozen vegetables, frozen Indian appetizers and pickles are available. Warning, the reviews on this business are written by the owners immediate family members such as hena patel the owners wife. Do not trust the reviews written here. Choose to go into the store and see for yourself the lack of cleanliness and products with expired dates. Would not recommend shopping here instead there is a lovely Indian store on canamera near the symposium where customers are treated with the utmost respect and the produce is fresh compared to what baba bazar offers from the fridge when selections are not adequate to customer needs upon request only.

I found this store when I recently moved to the area and they have to exclusive product that I did not find anywhere else. They have huge selection of Indian grocery and other products that you dnt miss any other store. The staff is very kind and friendly as well. Baba Bazar is a quick one stop shop for all your Pakistani / Indian groceries. They have a fresh butcher counter with quality meat as well as an assortment of different spices, vegetables, and groceries. Highly recommended.

Usually shop here for halaal meat. Quality of the meat and customer service is excellent. The grocery section and the meat counter is under two different managements. Person who runs the meat counter is super polite and really takes his time to prepare the meat as requested by the customer which sometimes results in long wait times. Really bad experience with the meat shop. He said the cost will be 40 then after 2 hours, he changed the price to 70. Had an argument with him, he refused to serve me. Also, please make sure if his supplier is from a certified halal company, because i am sure it's not. Think twice before you shop here.

Found some fresh Indian vegetables and snacks at a decent price. You have to be careful at Baba Bazar with the packaged food such as cookies, jams and spices as the owners keep expired or near-expired stuff on the shelves. So, be prepared to spend some time reading the labels. Edit (1 week later): I saw the owner's reply to my original post, and found the comment that "spices and cookies are non-perishable" to be a bit misleading. In general, I'd agree that shelf life of these products may be longer than indicated by a "best-before" date. However, as everyone else, I find a big difference in flavor between a recently packaged snack vs an old one that has been sitting on the shelf for a while. Thus is true for spices as well. The potency of spices will drop by age, and an old spice will not be able to impart the same flavor to a dish that a freshly packaged one can.

Never give them your qurbani order. They have no clue how to manage these orders. My qurbani number was 5&6. When they took order I was told that once qurbani is done they will call me. No one call me for three days. I called them on 2nd day of eid and was told that meat is getting ready and they will call me shortly to pick up my order. No one did fir next 48 hrs. When I called them back was told to talk with Manager. I called Mr Shaeen (the manager) and he told me that meat is ready for pick up. Whn i get there after 4 hrs, i was told that meat is getting cyt now. I called Mr Shaheen and he told me that someonelse was there before me so he gave that meat to him. Reallyyyyyy!!!!! This is how you manage Qurbani??????? Then wht is the point for giving customers there numbers for qurbani???? They are bunch of unirganized group of people running meat shop and have no sense how to handle qurbani process. There manager Mr Shaheen is clueless and helpless individual. Wont recommend them for Qurbani to anyone
