One of the best specialty meat shops in town and if you're prepared to pay, they can bring in organic and unique items. Good deli items, well organized and good service and knowledge. Not for the budget meat shopper but if you really value the ingredients you feed your family, then this is the spot. It could just as easily be a market in Tuscany and then if you need fresh veggies, a couple of doors down in a farm market.

Sweet Christmas!! I entered the gates of food mecca. I had the braised shortrib panini sandwich and my love had the lamb panini and we were in awe! Meat was done to our perception of perfection, paired with their cheese balls, an Italian lemonade, topped off with a wonderful potato donut. Couldn't ask for a better lunch for this hardcore foodie. We also brought home some of their premade meals, their meal chop and cheese ravioli, which satisfied our cravings deep in our soul. As they say, "eat well, live well" My friends, that has never been made as abundantly clear, as in the food they make with the love and attention, is quite apparent. Will be taking on their oxtail sandwich ASAP!! Thanks cioffi's for an amazing food experience. My sandwich is almost gone in the pic, as it was so darn yummy????

I recommend Cioffi's to everyone I know, even those who don't live locally! The deli and meat market have wide range of selections including free range products. I buy Spanish goat cheese here whenever I can. Their fresh homemade salsa is the best kept secret in town. Their new Cucina for fresh lunch-time (or anytime) meals is a huge local hit. I've also used their catering for my business and it was easy to order and perfectly what I needed. The major bonus about this place, is that everyone, from the owners right down to the people at the counter, are truly lovely people who care about the service they provide and the customers they serve. I'm always inspired by their business.

I am fortunate enough to live quite close to this fabulous place. The deli area is packed with cheeses and deli meats. The staff are always happy to help you find the perfect cheese, even if your descriptions are a bit vague. And without even asking they will offer you a sample to help you decide. They carry several sheep's milk cheeses which are my personal faves. The butcher/meat market is a carnivore's wonderland with equally expert staff. I can't decide what I love more about shopping here: the excellent products or the laid back warmth of the staff.

December 24 2020 - we tried this place after being referred by the deli after seeing their ad for pre cooked turkeys for Christmas. We walked down to the meat market and got our name and number written down for our first precooked turkey since our family was staying in town to celebrate Christmas in our bubble. I called at 1500hrs to check when we were supposed to pick up the turkey. The man in the kitchen said our names were not on the list and after becoming dissaponted he then blamed causal staff for the mistake. He then stated that he could not perform miracles and cannot help it that our name is not on the list. He then hung up. We arranged this pre cooked turkey in person to prevent errors but were still let down. We understand that communication errors happen and that we are all human but expected some accountability and better customer service in this situation. We will probably still shop here because we believe in second chances and support our community and small business during these tough times. However a little more empathy and a positive attitude would have been a nicer response from the man in the kitchen instead of sarcastic rudeness which made us feel quite awful Christmas eve. We don't hold a grudge and realize mistakes happen. We will give ya 3 stars for the mistake. Hopefully one day we can make it to 5. Merry Christmas!

These people really know meat. They have a dry age walk-in by their front window with 30-day and 40-day dry-aged prime rib, etc. Pictured here is a 2-inch 30-day dry aged New York steak, vacuum packed by Cioffi's with spices and olive oil, then we sous vide it at home and seared on the BBQ. Just amazing!!!

My favourite Italian market in the city. The carry all your Italian staples and more. I usually get my olive oil, pasta and other Italian cuisine needs from here. Service is always great and they’re always willing to help whenever you have any questions about any of the products. Prices are not bad either. Cioffi's is a vendor for a brand of frying pan called 'Catering Line'. In the past six months I have had no fewer than 3 of these non-stick fry pans all of which have been relegated to the recycling station. From the start the pans are about as good as any other brand of similar units but they lose their non-stick properties in very short time, like three weeks, after which it is like frying an egg on a piece of plywood. Go elsewhere for a better fry pan.

Let me start by saying I never leave a review good or bad but when it ruins my day like this I really do have to sign into my google account and made it a point to leave this review. I had the worst experience here today. The staff were all rude. The young girl that helped me with making the sandwiches were obviously new and didn't know what to do which is okay because she is new. But the other staff ignored us and did not try to help when they noticed we were obviously struggling. When I tired to ask anyone a question they would reply with one word answers and then walk away. I did not see any other person in the store with that type of treatment. They were smiling and and joking with other people -mostly in Italian. I would hate to make the assumption but it is hard not to because I was the only Asian person there at the time. I really hope that the reason I was treated that way today was not due to racism or prejudice. The selection and variety of products were great but it was unacceptable how I was treated. I will not be coming back here again and will not recommend any friends or family from supporting any businesses under the Cioffi's name.

I pre ordered a whole pig for a family BBQ, I told them I needed a 35-40 pounds. When I got there what I got was a 29 pound pig but was charged for a 35-40 pound pig. The lady said there was nothing she could do that was what they have so I was in a situation that I had to take a smaller size than I wanted and paid for the larger size. They were not willing to compromise. I have been a long time and loyal customer but am disappointed at the service I received. They have lost my business for good.

I love the products in the deli and the variety of meat selection (with emphasis on local and humanely raised) but I am grossed out by the food handling practices of some of the staff (not using tongs or gloves to handle meat- including raw hamburger). At the very least could wash their hands between clients if they insist on going that way so to ensure no cross contamination. I guess the germs cook out, but still an ick factor thinking of someone's fingernails digging into my meat.

I know their products are good, but I was massively let down by their service. I tried to order a gift basket via their website, where you leave your phone number and email address and they're supposed to contact you to confirm details and collect payment. I didn't hear back at all! When I followed up by phone (to the dedicated number for gift baskets), no one picked up, and no one responded to my follow-up email. I honestly expected better.

Normally I've been nothing but pleased when we order from here through skip the dishes, we are a construction crew down the street and have been ordering here weekly the past couple months but today when we received our $90 order we were the furthest from happy. First thing was no utensils but the worst part of it all is we received not cold but still partially frozen chicken pesto lasagna and beef lasagnas?!? Cant blame skip for it being frozen. I sent an email but have got no response :(

My review has nothing to do with meat, however I had my car towed outside of Cioffi's this afternoon and the experience that resulted inside was so enjoyable, that I felt compelled to write a review. I went in to ask if anyone at Cioffi's knew the company that towed cars on Hastings, and Heather went out of her way to not only tell me, but to make sure I had directions and bus fare to go get my car. Everyone there was so compassionate and it was such a pleasant surprise in such frustrating circumstances. I will happily recommend Cioffi's to everyone I know based on this one isolated act of kindness. I commend the people who work here. Thank you so much, and I will see you again (for meat!)!

I used to love this grocery store. I have personally spent thousands here over the past five years but since March, it's getting harder and harder to want to give them my business because of my experiences there. There's no requirement for people to wear masks and the person at the deli had a mask that was so loose that we could see his nose and mouth. It was also really upsetting to be racially harassed for a third time in their store for being Chinese (of maybe 8-9 visits since March). All three times, a different old man made a racial slur about how I shouldn't be there, the cause of covid and should die, and today, how Chinese people suck. Everytime, we were within earshot of staff and they just turn a blind eye. I'd still give them 2 stars, because my non-asian partner has never had an issue and I'm sympathetic to the stressors of this pandemic.

I always try to support local and while I used to love shopping at Cioffi's, I'm starting to question whether or not this business is worth supporting. Since the start of COVID-19 pandemic, I've been to Cioffi's a handful of times. Each and every one of these times, I don't feel welcomed as a customer. I would hate to assume this has anything to do with racial profiling (I am of Asian descent), but based on some of the other reviews expressing similar experiences, it's hard not to. While I have never personally encountered any racial slurs directed at me, every single time I experience the same treatment from the same cashier (I presume owner). He's friendly and overly chatty with other patrons who are Caucasian, especially Italian, as soon as I reach the cash desk he turns Jekyll and Hyde and pulls a complete 180 on me. No longer chatty, not even at all friendly, he is curt and rude towards me. One time, he even let someone blatantly cut in front of me in line and did not do anything about it. He was still very chatty towards her, and again, as soon as I reach the cash desk, he's back to cold, curt, and rude. I am a Canadian-born-Chinese and aside from my skin colour, I am no different than anyone else who shops there. I'd much rather take my business elsewhere...like to Bosa where everyone there is friendly to all.

Been going there for more than 25 years. Try the thick veal chops. The bistro is cool as well for great Italian take out. I buy all my Italian goodies there.

I'm still on the fence when it comes to reviewing Cioffi's. I've been there a few times to pick up foods, but I don't come back often enough. I don't write reviews right after my shopping or eating experiences as most people do, I want the experience to settle before I give my constructive criticism. My daughter and I had a bad food delivery experience with the Mac & Cheese from the Cucina, so I would never eat that food product again! When I delivered my expressive comment to the chef, he just walked away... what type of person in the kitchen walks away?! My wife wanted to speak with the owner, Rino Cioffi but he too walked away and said, don't eat here! What an idiotic reply from someone who says, they cater to the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood. My favourite butcher in the meat department left, and so too, will my business and shopping experience.

For BBQ season, their sausages are really good!!! ????I eat them in a bun like a hotdog since I can no longer eat hotdogs. They also have good cuts of other proteins and for that traditional Italian ingredient, you should be able to find it here!!! ????????????????

I am just so disappointed in how the service levels at Cioffi's have continued to decline. I have shopped at this store for more than a decade and recommended it to dozens of friends over the years. I understand it's hard to get staff but Cioffi's owners and management team need to invest more in training and onboarding new staff so customers don't suffer such very poor service. I am so sad to say I no longer shop at Cioffi's because of this.. Bosa is equally as good and has their staffing and service figured out

I have been shopping at Cioffi' and I thought it was a good store until they sold rotten and moldy chestnuts. I buy chestnuts from them every year. But the batch I bought on Dec 21st is bad. I think they should know if the chestnuts are old. I prefer Italian chestnuts that is why I go to them even if they are pricey.

Update may 2019: I ordered six 1” thick ribeyes but the grades are average - average marbling. Three were cut well. One was at 0.75” and the second was way too thin at 0.5”. The third one was cut so poorly that it was falling apart into three pieces. I couldn’t believe they sold me two of them. I can’t come back. Aug 2018 Purchase: full untrimmed brisket, dry aged rib eye, boneless, skin on chicken breast Meats were excellent. Rib eye is one of the best I’ve had in Vancouver/Burnaby and worth it. However, I didn’t like how I asked for a lb and the butcher gave me “a little more than a lb” which meant 1.5lb. I’ll still come back. Parking: free lot parking May 2019
