Great butcher shop, all the Mexican cuts you crave. Plus a lot of other things like tortillas, botanas, quesos, salsas, dulces. The pastor is especially good. The guy is really nice too. I would have given 5 stars but they’re closed on Sundays and a lot of families do their grocery shopping for the week on Sundays so I basically never get to come here. Tienes que abrír los domingos también guey!

Yay! Finally some authentic Mexican groceries. A little pricey but worth it to have options besides other larger grocery stores that think a wall of Old El Paso products qualifies as “Mexican”. We were able to get everything we needed for homemade tamales including corn husks, Oaxaca cheese, and hominy. They also carry authentic Mexican oregano and Tapatio! The only thing they didn’t have that we needed is canned green chilies.

I wanted to check this place out in Feb 2021. The store was packed but in violation of the provincial orders one staff member was wearing his mask as a chin diaper and another wasn’t wearing any mask at all. This is not a big or well ventilated place. Disappointed.

Excellent place to get bistec, buche, pastor, arrachera, longaniza, tripa, menudo, and many other treats other than meat. If you've never tried it do yourself a favor especially if you are into tacos for example. You'll keep coming back. There's parking at the back. If you stay on a side street remember sidewalk is still closed westbound as of July 23rd better to approach from Madison. Saludos, Luis

Rocky's Meats are all locally produced, hormone & antibiotic free but prices are still quite competitive (way cheaper than supermarket). Also, nothing is packaged so you buy only what you will actually eat & there are still discounts for larger volume. Friendly service too!

This place seems to be under new ownership, never been to the old rockys but the new place stocks Mexican meats and products. It was a pleasant surprise ! But it was hard to shop as there are no signs or prices on any of the meats and we had to keep asking what everything was. Bought some marinated beef on a whim and turned out pretty good

New ownership Super nice people. But it’s just not the same. This place had the best Italian sausages in North Burnaby. I was told she trained with John to learn how to make them but it’s just not the same. I also thought I would try there New Mexican chorizo. Having literally gotten off a plane from two weeks in Mexico the day before. I was not impressed it was far to over seasoned. Gave the new guys a shot. Sad to say it was a fail.

We are regular customers here and I’m sad having to change my review… the last two times the service is a bit rude, not a greeting, no a thank you, nothing… the young girl wearing glasses who attended us before is very nice but this older lady doesn’t have a manner with clients. I called as usual to order carnitas michoacanas for Saturday and we were told before by the nice young lady with glasses that if we order in advance we don’t have to line up, instead we can knock in the back door and they would handle the food to us there and pay, which we did before very fast and friendly, this time I called and I just wanted to politely remind them that we would meet them in the back as we did before and this other lady answered very quickly and a bit exasperated a: - “NO, we don’t do that, if there’s is a line outside you have to wait and line up”. I can totally understand if you change the rules as you are the ones working there, but there’s a polite way to talk with customers and telling them about how others customers complained because they are waiting, I honestly understand that, we don’t have problem lining up outside as long as you’re providing friendly service and good food. The other thing is that we ordered 1.5 kg, I asked if they used kg or lb and they said kilos… I know this is not too much difference but still you should give the clients what they’re paying for, we had 1,406 gr of meat instead of 1,500 gr. So disappointed.
