I have been going to Shah Halal for some years now and we usually call in and order and come in to pick up. Sure he has made us wait every now and then due to high volume at the shop but he is honest and his prices are what people in Oakville usually pay. He sources his chickens through Sargent Farms while his lamb and goats are selected by him at St Jacobs Farm and he slaughters the lamb/goats at Copper Farms near Bronte area. Every Thursday and Saturday are dates for fresh lamb and goat so I don't understand reviews where they say the meat is bad when the owner is taking pains to have grass fed lamb/goat slaughtered by himself to ensure a organic experience as well as accommodate the halal/zabiha aspect too. Definitely give two thumbs up for Shah Halal Meat shop where I have always been met with respect and good service.

My go to butcher. The quality of the meat is top notch and customer service is marvelous. Shah is a generous person, both in spirit and actions. Very honest, humble and friendly. I have lived in the area for a decade and after trying many butchers, I finally found the one that has both the quality and price that can't be beat. One time when I took my kid along, who loves bone marrow, they threw in extra for no charge. That is just one of many times Shah has shown his generosity and love for his customers. Never disappoints, maintaining the standards through the pandemic!

Was the first option for Halal meat but after just two buys they showed their attitude and quality was way below par. If the owner cannot stand by his quality that is a store you should never go to. Besides it’s messy inside look at their aprons. Yes they are cutting meat but it’s needs to be clean every time.

Rude employees! I usually buy burgers from them and they used to have a guy who does the burgers right in front me. However, when I visited for the last time in my life, these two rude workers said you should have ordered couple of hours ago by phone. We can't do them now eventhough they were sitting doing nothing without any other client inside!

Great place for halal meet. Owner "Shah" speaks english, farsi and urdu and has been in meat business ling enough. Excellent wuality meats, they slaughter their own animals twice a week! great stuff!!

I'm an old customer . My experience with this shop has been good most of the time and okay at times . Inspite of their higher than normal prices , I have been going there as it is the only option within Oakville. I usually place an order on the phone and then go and pick it up. However , today they have been a huge disappointment. I called to place an order for goat liver . The lady (shah's wife) , told me that they don't sell it by weight and the customer has to specify the quantity. I asked her for an approximate weight of a goat liver so i could then tell her exactly how many to prepare for me . I had to repeat this SIMPLE question several times to make her understand . Asking for an "approximate " weight wasn't too much to ask for ! She talked to me extremely rudely and then finally took the order for 3 livers. I said I didn't want the heart but definitely the kidneys and wind pipes along with the liver and asked her to keep them ready in about 1.5 hours. I even called them on my way to the shop as i was going to be 20 min late and asked them again to keep things ready as it is a busy day for me . When i got there , my order wasn't done . The lady was in a bad mood and was very rude when I asked why the liver was still not ready. Her husband (shah) started preparing the liver for me and while doing that , he kept lecturing me non stop at the top of his voice how we wait when we go to walmart and other places and so should be able to wait at their shop too. This was all getting more and more disappointing and rude. When he came over for the payment i told him how walmart etc were such bad examples . If a place takes phone orders , then they are expected to keep everything ready on time. These husband wife were still rude to me until the time i left their shop. Later in the evening i found out that kidneys etc weren't there at all !! In the midst of all that lecturing and shouting that shah kept doing , he had forgotten half of my order there ! When i called to ask him, he told me to just come and get it and "hung up". I called back to check if i have actually paid for all those things that were left behind , and guess what ? His wife was on the phone and simply started blabbering that i was being difficult and rude ! So calling them to ask about something that ive paid for is being "difficult " !? I'm never going back to this shop again. Shah and his wife have absolutely zero customer service skills and have no idea how to stay polite on a busy day. Pathetic attitudes!!

Really bad service at this place, the butcher actually said to me that he’s not a barber to know how to cut pieces properly, I really didn’t expect that from an Afghan butcher, I just thought they’d know better. Good meat and they are some good workers there but the two today ruined the reputation to the point where I’m not coming back.

They lure you in by giving good meat for the first couple of times and unload bad stuff on you after you become a regular. If questioned, they lie to your face and threaten and abuse you verbally

Terrible experience! I went there to get ground beef, but they did not have anything ready. The guy told me nothing and started to prep some ground beef for me. After 10 minutes waiting there, he charged me $7 per pound, while regular ground beef is somewhere around 3-4 per pound. So I asked why, and he said we didn't have any regular, and I prepped some lean ground beef for you. They were also so rude and said they have asked and I have told him it is ok, while I didn't know what is going on at all until it came up for payment. Do not recommend at all. There are definitely better places where you're going to be treated/served more nicely.

Extremely disappointed in this store. I walked in for the first time today hearing about this place from friends. After placing my order, I noticed the prices were higher than other stores. So I asked if I could cancel, but the manager said no, because he already started on the meat. He said “You’ve already wasted my time”. As he continued arguing with me, he threatened he would call the police and have them arrest me. I’m extremely shocked at how a store owner can be this rude and disrespectful towards a customer asking if they could cancel their order. Definitely will never recommend to friends and family, or to anyone interested in buying from this store.

If you're looking for fantastic quality meat that is always fresh and well priced, you will definitely find it at Shah's. I purchase from them every weekend and am never disappointed. The staff is very kind and helpful but more importantly very knowledgeable of the meat they are selling. Please stop using UPPER CASE in your responses. it means shouting. Absorb both positive & negative feedback from customer and respond politely like... We are sorry for not having met your expectations. We are not perfect. But we are trying to continuously improve our service. We take all customer feedback seriously.
