Best of Scotland right in the Heart of Canada, fresh and tasty meat, pies, sausage rolls, black pudding, haggis and much much more, most items are made in-store and they also import goods from the UK. Great friendly staff, very welcoming, Lorraine and Paul the owners are really nice.

Love Opies, have been eating their haggis for decades.. Can't find another haggis that compares. I used to live next door in the apt beside Opies years ago and the old owner Danny used to give me and my kids bags of frozen meat pies and baked goods that went unsold. They were a generous sort. Love Opies.

I try to go to Opies whenever I'm on the mountain. Unfortunately, they're usually sold out of freshly baked meat pies regardless of the time of day I get there. They've also become very expensive. Large steak pies are $20 each and a 450 gram piece of "Dundee Cake" is $9. Delicious yes but sadly, a little too pricey for me now.

I have to say that I was very disappointed with the fresh meat pies I picked up a few days ago. They looked great , but had no taste, the ground beef was a pale whitish color. I did eat the pie for dinner but up with an upset stomach. Never again.

So thankful this place exists. I’ve been searching for years in numerous big box grocery stores to find some of my old childhood sweets with little luck, until I found Opies. I was amazed by the variety of exclusive British goods and it has now become a frequent visit for me. The staff are also extremely friendly and helpful, overall I’d highly recommend.

Put in a large order of haggis for a restaurant, in early December, 2015 for January 24th, 2016. They had over a month to complete the order. Due to the size I was told I would have to receive the order frozen, which was completely okay due to sheer size and how time consuming haggis is to make. Called in this week to see when I could come to pick up my order due to being from outside Hamilton, only to be told that whoever took my order never put my order in. Which, unfortunately is not an excuse. Was told that they can only give me 1/5th of my original order because of the timing of my event. This is suppose to be one of the best places in Ontario to get haggis, but now I am stuck having to do business with other businesses that I never wanted to use because of their failure to keep on top of their costumers. Also, still have to pay for this mishap, that I was trying to avoid by giving them over a month's notice. Costumer service is seriously lacking.

Decent food...but store says they are open till 5:30 pm. ..most of the time that isn't the case. Doors are locked early and you can see people in there and they just ignore you. Not very good business

Sadly, Opies is a shell of its former self. Last time I was there...a foul smell permitted the entire store. Meat pies aren't what they used to be. So sad.....used to LOVE this place....not anymore.

I ordered a 3lb Haggis and 2 dozen scotch pies and cocktail pies for our Burns Supper on the 20th. I ordered a week in advance and had great service. The Haggis and the pies were excellent and my guests were raving about the flavour and quality. Thank you Opies for making our Burns night supper.
