My beloved and I were completely blown away with the service and quality of meat we picked up from Windsor meats for Thanksgiving. We strayed away from Turkey this year and wanted something special, so we opted for T-Bone steaks this year. We arrived seeing a line outside, whilst it was raing pretty hard, no worries, it went fast. They didn't have any dry aged left, however this young lad brought out what they did have, a whole rake of uncut tbone that wasn't done its aging cycle, yet we were determined and he cut us two whoppers from that and envisioned myself as fred flintstone, seeing how massive they beauties were. Sweet Christmas, they barely fit on the plate after frying them on a 100 year old cast iron pan I inherited from my Grandmother, with countless meals that filled me with a reverence cooking these beauties and I honour this divine animal that gave itself for the nutrients it gave us during a time of profound gratitude and thankfulness, as we all have much to be thankful for. Thank you Windsor meats for the high quality service and fair. Special note, I challenged my beloved to see who could get that bone to shine the most and like all things, she mopped the floor with my attempt, hers being on the right. Blessings

Update: great customer service but I paid $35 for a dry aged, bone-in ribeye that was so tough I literally could not eat ⅓ of it. (Pan seared, medium rare on the rare side.) Super friendly staff with a solid selection of meats. They're great at helping you get what you need with suggestions that aren't overly pushy. I would definitely recommend this shop for all your butcher needs.

Used to come here waaaaayyy back. Bought a flat iron steak here today, brought it home & cooked it. Yummy!! Their meats still taste fine. Selection has changed ( just like the times) and appears to be geared towards hipsters. Very clean place, top notch ????????. Great selection of sausages and lamb. Some chicken and the frozen section looks good as well. Plenty of choices for every taste. A bit pricey but the quality is there. Can’t get that at super????store. Metered parking on the streets.

Truly one of my favorite shops on Main. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Their prices for basic cuts (chicken breasts, sausages, etc) are comparable to Whole Foods or other larger stores that cater to the organic/sustainable meat crowd, but I love being able to shop and support local. The speciality cuts, particularly their steaks, are truly out of this world.

Waited outside behind 3 people and properly socially distanced. Did not take very long and got in and instantly got assistance. Bought a pork shoulder to make pulled pork on their recommendation and it was delicious! Also very reasonably priced too relative to other larger commercial grocery stores. I would make the trip again to get other cuts.

Great product across the board. Their bacon is the best in town! But why do the staff always seem so grumpy? Doesn’t matter when I go in, or who I’m served by, they seem miserable. I don’t get it. Never the most welcoming or positive experience.

Little known secret - you can order t-bones or ribeyes to age for as long as you like. They have a great selection of meats at reasonable prices and even offer some more exotic stuff like ground boar and kangaroo. If you are seeking pork butt for your next round of pulled pork you will find some great cuts here as well.

Good service and choice but have had not the best experience with the quality of their beef....not well marbled or aged, tends to be tough. The more expensive branded steaks are good but pricy while the basic steaks are still not particularly cheap and are not so great. Even a prime rib was chewy.

Probably one of my favorite butchers, although a little more on the pricy side the quality is superb. The short ribs and prime rib I got had superb, melt in your mouth marbling. It was like butter. The short ribs will go on sale from time to time for $14/lb so not that pricy but its insanely good marbling. Their pork chops are thicker pieces and juicy. My 2nd choice is Columbus Meats and Famous Foods for the wide selection of cuts. They do require you to wear masks which I like, it protects the employees and customers and I am much more comfortable shopping there.

Contrary to what they expressed on their website of how they adore pets and make the best raw food for them, the manager made comment to me in the store saying: "they're just dogs, who cares what they eat" when I asked him questions about the quality of the raw meat. He couldn't answer my questions and got offended. Very rude and unfriendly to pets and to me too.

Bought grass fed ribeye twice. The grass fed one smeled bad. That’s why I tried it twice. But it was same result. The 63 arcs rib-eye is the best in Vancouver. Potato fed PEI ribeye is ok. The staffs are nice but they sells older meat if you don’t choose specific block.

Friendly and from what I can tell for the most part grossly underqualified staff and management.I ordered a couple pairs of chicken breast and I watched one of the staff handle it with his bare hands. I Then ordered some ham from the deli section. No hands were washed between touching raw chicken and deli meat! I don't want salmonella so I did not purchase my order. This is basic food safe . I am shocked and will never return.

The service was more than 5 stars and the freshly cut and trimmed Picanha was amazing. It’s a little out of my way, as I’m in New West, but will absolutely make my way there for meat due to the excellent quality and top notch service

Always get very good quality meat. The staff are usually nice but I have to say that today wasn’t a great customer experience. I asked for a specific beef cut and asked if they had it 100% grass fed. They didn’t, which is fine but then the employee asked the reason I wanted it 100% grass fed. I said I don’t eat grain and don’t want to eat something that eat grain. That being said, my explanation was poor but he started telling me why I was wrong and even a customer started getting in also to tell me I was wrong. I felt completely judge for no reason... Aren’t we even allowed to ask??? I mean they have it for the steak so why not ask in case??? I don’t think beef is meant to eat grains... that’s it. If you don’t have it, that’s fine, I’ll take what you have but I think I shouldn’t feel judge to ask since it is my preference. Anyways, that was just uncomfortable and now I’m not feeling good about going back.

Have been to Windsor meats a few times and have had great experiences. However, we just got a turkey and saw the EXACT same one at superstore for almost a third of the price. I recognize it’s a local, independent butcher- but that is pure robbery.
