This review is based on their meat pies. Absolutely the best meat pie I've ever had. The beef vindaloo pie was stuffed with meat and delicious. The curry chicken pie is amazing too. The one pie easily feeds us and our two kids. I definitely recommend you try the meat pies.

Not only do they carry the same quality meats as other butcher shops but they also offer things the other shops do not such as their specialty British candies and homemade meat pies. The best part is the very friendly and helpful staff. Try and talk with Lisa and not smile! I would recommend this butcher shop to anyone!

The selection is good, you can find a lot of specialty groceries that you just can not find from other places. Shopping here is fun, and you can often find things that might surprise you. The only thing is that for some snack items that are also sold in other stores you can see a significant pricing gap. I would honestly rather just come here to do all my shopping, but I can not unfortunately.

I had stayed away from this business for years but returned at Christmas in the forlorn hope that it had improved. Worse than ever, the British tea was triple the UK retail price, the Melton-Mowbray pie was just a generic pork pie masquerading under a deceptive crust. In sum, everything in this shoppe is crappe and those who shoppe here are fools with more money than sense. I gave it one star but it's really an asteroid.

excellent service. The British products are expensive but they aren't triple the retail price they have just ed added a few pounds and people seem to forget the British exchange rate to Canadian dollars which is pretty well double. It's a great shop with a fantastic selection. I always go here, can't live with out proper tea!

Great little neighborhood butcher. Having lived in England for a while, I love all the imports that make this butcher place feel unique. There's a nice selection of snacks from England, but I definitely like their ham, bacon, and sausage selection.

The prices are extremely reasonable, especially for their in-house food. Their imported goods are priced well as well, especially for being a small local business. So happy to have them close, my partner and I are going to start doing a weekly shop there for our meat (and probably treats!).

Just want to call this little neighbourhood shop out for being amazing at the best and the worst of times. All of their meat products are delicious and high quality, and well worth the price. Staff are way over the top with their COVID vigilantism. They have a long way to go learning manners and not coming off cold and rude to new customers. My family did not feel welcome yesterday. Will not be returning.

The staff are really great. They seem to know their stuff about the product as well. I love their steaks. Even the cheapest cuts are twice as thick as a same priced super market steak. Nice little selection of British candies and products as well!

Not happy to write this about a shop i have enjoyed for some time but today was the last straw. Have been a weekly customer here for years but since covid hit the service and attitude from the staff has become consistently unbearable. Initially i chalked it up to a difficult adjustment, a less than ideal layout for distancing, stress etc. and everyone deserves some graces during this time but I’ve been barked at one time too many by one unnecessarily officious staff member or another about my distance from this or that... or failing to see the third customer behind a shelf of stuff etc etc. it is possible to be polite and safe at the same time. It is being done in other retailers, not sure why not here. Good product, great meats... but not good enough to treat paying customers like wayward children and expect them to come back. Yes, i understand covid is serious and safety comes first but they are instituting safety procedures without reworking their service levels to keep pace and it shows. Today I was kept waiting in line outside for literally 20 mins which was baffling when there was only 5 people in front of me... get inside and had to ask for service at the counter...then treated like i was a nuisance for being anything other than a slow breeze. You only have three customers in the shop at a time, fine... but be expeditious about servicing them so people can move through. Further: i asked to order a Turkey for xmas. Was told flatly “were out.” when i asked for clarification another staff member walked over and made it clear i was being a pain in for asking about it. Ive ordered my bird here for ages and only spent many thousands of dollars in this store over the years so maybe the slightest bit of an explanation or some effort to soften the message would have been nice. I can handle getting the bird elsewhere... but im not going to be talked down to just for asking about it. As i said earlier, excellent product here, and it has stayed excellent when the grocery stores meat counters have gone downhill badly but British butcher is no longer alone in the premium meat space these days, there are other options and i will be using them going forward.

I don’t actually eat meat myself, but I come here often just for the vegetarian treats from the UK!! It’s understandable that the prices are a little high because they have to import the goods. The British butcher is a great little place.

I go there regularly for their delicious pies and for British orange marmalade. Last time I bought some delectable chalet covered ginger cookies from Marks and Spencer. Excellent, cheerful service.

I’m sure this place is okay on a normal day, however my girlfriend and I went today (during covid-19) and our experience was awful. Upon arrival we were told the procedures put in place and they were reasonable. They were allowing 2 people in the store at a time so we asked to wait so we could go in together because it was our first time and didn’t know what we were going to get. We were even willing to let other people in front of us (even though there was no line at the time) but the woman standing at the door refused to accommodate this request and said that she would kick one of us out if another person came once we were inside. She came off extremely rude to us off the bat and was being very friendly to other people that came to the shop. We agreed after for only one of us to go in and were conversing on the phone to figure out what we wanted and the woman aggressively asked my girlfriend standing outside if she was on the phone with me. She told my girlfriend to ask me to move to the other side of the store for someone who had just walked in, even though I was trying to look at items where I was. I was trying the whole time to be polite but the entire experience was extremely uncomfortable and couldn’t help but feel discriminated against for the colour of my skin. I felt rushed the entire time and felt like they did not want my business. This is such a shame because I was looking forward to getting some of my favourite childhood snacks. I will not be returning again and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The people at this place make it what it is. So friendly and helpful, seems like they know all the neighbourhood clientele by name. The meat quality is great, and I love the free marinade and vacuum pack service that they offer. Pepperoni is delicious. The import products are expensive, but after being to a couple similar places, that seems normal... really geared to the ex-pat who wants a taste of home, and is willing to pay for it.

Whilst never partaking of the meat side of this store there's a large range of UK specific goods that are essential ethnic foods. The right flavours of crisps, twiglets, and all the other UK candy bars that are not made (badly) in North America (Double Decker's, Lion Bars, Curly wurlys...) Plus biscuits, teabags, hienz tomato soup as well as leek and potato... For the meat eaters lots of UK specific pies, sausages...

We have been shopping here for as long as the store has been around. These guys are the real deal from the excellent service to the products they sell. Outstanding sausage and hams, and in particular the leak and stilton sausage, would win an award in any competition. Don't get me started on the savory pies as they are as good as you can make yourself.

I bought some bones from here that didn't end up being viable. I had returned them- upset that I had ruined a batch of food/time wasted etc. The woman behind the counter (I believe her name is Stephanie but I don't recall) was super nice, gave me a full refund and even called me back the following week when a new batch of bones arrived- replacing my last batch free of charge. 10/10 recommend.
