So I've started a small town meat market tour. Stever's is number#2. This is a great stop and very Bizzzy! I tried the Chorizo, the house Brat and the house Hot Dog, due to a referral. All were good but the shocker was the House Hot Dog. I mean who goes to a butcher shop to get a hotdog? I Sanoran'd it with house Bacon and cooked it at 275 on a pellet grill. Incredible! and I'm not much for Hot Dogs. Great staff, lot's of spices and sauces to choose from. I'll go back.

Great variety of cuts of meat. Locally sourced options. Buffalo and grass fed bed available. Service was awesome. Personalized, quick, and efficient. Also have dairy products, plenty of pork including pork belly, and lots of fresh eggs available. They even have meat processing for your wild game and curing options.

I have been a customer for 10 years here but I think it's time to walk away. I can vividly draw a graph of steep changes in this butchery. Every time I visit there I buy bulky but of late the customer service is very poor and their beef ???? has become pricey everytime. They seem to rush customers Next...Next...! Some of their staff and customers not following mask policy ???? one of their employee only covering the mouth but not the nose. Last time my beef had more bones than juicy chunks!

If you're looking for any specific kind of meat, this is the place to go. Whether it's beef chicken or pork, they have just about every cut and every style available. It's the only place that I have found in a 50 mile radius that has pork belly. And if you're having a special night and want to have some really good steaks, this is where you need to go to get your meat.

I have driven past for over 20 years. Today (day before thanksgiving) I decided we would go non traditional and picked up a very nice fresh T-bone and a few additional already frozen steaks. The parking lot was full and very busy but the employees ready and didn't wait very long at all. The ones I dealt with were very nice and while busy and almost holiday they did NOT have a "hurry we are busy" attitude. Very kind and helpful. Even after one answered a call about if open ON THANKSGIVING, we had to laugh about that. After I cook and eat will update with note about quality vs grocery store meats.

We took seven of our cattle down last fall for processing. The last round of beef we were missing TONS of our steaks off of the cow- the best part. The reason you for raise cattle and feed them out is to have yummy steaks. We will Never use this company again for processing. Back to Bichelmeyers!

The meat I have purchased here has been of good quality and fresh. Reasonable prices. Frozen packages of hamburger are $1 per pound cheaper than fresh. They also sell frozen pies that are delicious. The blueberry is my favorite. Started going here to get the dog bones. That alone will keep me coming back! They also have farm fresh eggs

We were shorted meat on our purchase of 1/2 beef and when I called to complain I was greeted with double talk and told that sirloin steak is 12 by 12 inches with 60% fat, bone and 10% meat. Worst place for butchering beef sides. I was told off by Pam after waiting on the phone for 6 minutes while the person who answered the phone told her about my complaint. Hope someone had some good steaks on us because we got the scrap.

Had two different cows butchered and unbelievably they ended up being the exact same weight. If my family had not told me the ticket weights and prices I never would have known. My two cows were not close to the same weight. Hopefully it was a mistake but I will not trust them with anymore of my cattle.

We have been raising hogs for many years and our regular butcher was booked so we decided to try Steve's Meat Market. I've never been so disappointed. The man that helped unload our hogs hit them on the back with the pliers used to tag their ears and broke the skin. He yelled and complained that we had raised pets not hogs. It was the worst unloading experience I've ever had. I asked the butcher to save all the leaf lard for me and they forgot. When he gave me some from another hog it wasn't the quality or quantity I would have had from my three hogs and I have no idea how that pig was fed so I can't tell my customers that the lard is hormone free. I'm pretty sure we weren't given the meat from our hog as the cuts were too small and I only got one roast from 1/2 hog that weighed over 275 pounds. When I asked about it they assured me they never confuse the meats, but I know exactly how much meat I should have had from my hog since I had the same weight processed at our other butcher. And the final straw was that one of our customers was dissatisfied with the cure of the bacon, "It's just awful." was their comment to me. I'm hoping I haven't lost customers from using Steve's. We never got a call that our meat was done and when we went to pick it up they still didn't have the cured meats ready, they had our meat for over a month. I hope this is not their normal service and that I just got the bad end of it, but we will not be using them again.

Meat always fresh with no additives. Steaks cut to order. Always friendly and willing to go the extra mile for customer service. Check your chicken at the grocery and it has added salt. The ground beef has fillers and preservatives not listed. If you want meat and just meat this is the place to go.

A friend sold us a cow and had both his and ours provessed at Steve's. Most of our meat was very poor quality, the cuts didn't even look like normal cuts, some places on the meat was really dark and strange looking and it tasted strange. But I really got pissed when I took out a package marked sirloin steak and this is what it looked like! Yep that is a 1 1/2 X 5 inch bone, there is about 1 inch of meat on one side and 2 going down to 0 on the other side. Try feeding that to your family!

Be concerned! Even though Steve's has a sign on their entrance asking customers to abide by the mandated mask use, they DO NOT ENFORCE IT. Not only customers weren't wearing masks, but the employees were wearing their masks under their chins or covering only their mouth with nose exposed. I had to ask the employee packaging my products and taking my payment to please lift their mask so that it covered their mouth and nose; he walked away from the register and a different associate took my payment.

They ask how you want bulk items packaged. No having to redo when you get home. Also got 3 pork chops. They look like T-bone steaks. Can't wait to try them

Dropped a deer off for processing, I chose Steve's Meat Market because it was close to home. Very disappointed that they did not debone the meat, instead they processed bone in. More often than not this causes rancid meat. The price of processing was high. And they did not even clean the meat of hair. Not a professional job by any means. Lesson learned , will be going back to St. Joe for processing.

Went to Steve's today and got 4 sirloin steaks. Cooked over a charcoal grill with hickory and cherry. When I took the first bite I thought it was the best most tender sirloin I've ever had. It was as tender as any t-bone from any grocery store. Once again a home run.Thank you for buying local beef . Absolutely delicious

I brought a 335 pound pig to them. She dressed at 289 (normal). For some reason we got 119 pounds total back from her. They also called to tell me they had my bacon after I had picked it up. (Kinda fishy after the low return weight) there service was terrible. We called the week before picking it up and they said our bacon was in the smoker to be done by next friday. I went in the following Tuesday to pick it all up and pay for it. They said the bacon was done but not sliced. Went back 2 days later and picked it up. Now a week and a half later they call me to tell me it's done. Be very cautious.

We will no longer be having our custom butchering done at steve's. They are nice as can be there and the meat you buy from the case is very good but we have no doubts that the meat we have been recieving when we bring an animal in to have it butchered, is not our animal. We used a different butcher this time, in Easton Kansas, with much better results and are hearing the same complaints from many of our friends.

I have been a dedicated customer for over six years. Last month I was disturbed that the monthly special were gone excer one. I purchased it and four Kansas City strips and a 3 pound bunch of Chicken wings. $180 dollars worth. The next morning the wings were spoiled. Also as the month progressed I have found that I did not get everything I paid for. No roasts, no country style ribs and half the ground round we were supposed to get. I am disabled and the very nice man carried the meat to my car. My Son then put it all in the deep freeze. I thought it was odd that only two paper bags were used for that much meat not three. But being disabled and not walking well I just did not think. Now I have reconsidered what I was supposed to get with my purchase and did not. I understand that things are tough. But was not expecting this from a chosen place to do my business. Live and learn I guess. Too bad my fault for not checking.

We are a larger family operation of Angus beef producers who typically target the high end commercial market. We also sell USDA cuts from our home. When it appeared shortages were imminent, we received several orders for custom cows (whole/half animal). I immediately called to secure appointments at butchers who are within a reasonable distance for our clients. On May 6th, I called Steve's to schedule a cow. The gentlemen gave me the date of June 2nd. I tried to give him my name for the the appointment and he insisted they do not take appointments. Today, May 30th, I called to confirm the details and they said I could not bring the cow until sometime in 2021 because I did not have an appointment. I explained I was told May 6th they did not accept appointments. Charlene shouted at me that we are in a pandemic, that they were a meat market and had to fulfill their own inventory, and they had to start taking appointments for custom beef. She would not tell me the date this began. She continued to shout, talk over me, and tell me she didn't have time to talk on the phone. Maybe the beef is good from the retail store, but I wouldn't rely on them for custom. There are many more butchers (actually all of them I've worked with) who don't treat producers/customers this way. Even if they were too busy to process the beef, they should have at least apologized for the miscommunication about the appointment situation and spoken kindly to someone trying to do business with them.

Don’t seem like we got our meat as the t bones were trimmed off ??? Small . Not sure we got all of the beef either , seemed short . I will not go back . When we asked questions all we got was that they were very Busy . It is like they over book and give you back what they want and not what you ordered . Thumbs down .

Brought in two deer for processing. Felt very rushed through the process. Was given no guidance on the cuts or how I wanted it done. Ended up with over 50 pounds of ground meat after I was told I couldn’t get more than 2 roasts. Very disappointed with the service and unhappy with my final result after spend $450.
