The selection is great, with lots of cuts of the basics, game, "specialty" meats, sausages, cold cuts, bones, et cetera. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, great service! Stores all the typical red meat you would want in any cut. I wanted a shoulder cut of lamb which was not on display but the staff went in the the back and got me few pounds of it. The rotisserie chicken tastes delicious and I always pick up an assortment of sauces when I'm here.

Very good meat quality at prices that are above average. The next level up in quality is about 6 times more expensive. My favourite are the (very fatty) breakfast sausages. I cook them with a lid over the pan to get the fat out of them, then fry toast and eggs in the sausage fat. Very, very delicious. The chicken breast is also really good too.

Felt like making a fancy dinner... Ribeye roast from Sanagan's Meat Locker in a shallot, porcini mushroom & tarragon sauce with homemade horseradish on the side. Along with southern style green beans, roasted carrots & parsnips and potato puffs (a blend of chou pastry & mashed potatoes, then baked to a feathery light, fluffy and crispy perfection). All this paired with some nice wine. ????

Absolutely the best quality fresh meats at this store. They are honest enough to tell you if the meat shouldn’t be frozen again and it’s supposed to be cooked the same day in a few cases. Picked up meat here today. This place is always extremely clean and very well staffed. Everyone wants to serve you here and that’s a great feeling as it’s becoming harder to find such places. The quality of the cuts is great and the pricing while a tad high is still a good deal for what you get. Be sure to try the cup of bone soup, it’s yummy.

I love picking up a sandwich from here -- it's made so perfectly. I also pick up pasture raised chicken eggs here and they're so fresh and delicious. You will notice the staff are really friendly and will spend the time to tell you about the meat cuts they have... high quality meats, and the cattle are humanely raised... it is amazing how the tast is so noticable... the sausages aswell are super! They sell a variety of pickles, mustard and hot sauce.... the 20kg charcoal bag they have is a premium product and will stay hot and litt for a long time.... A meat gem for Carnivores at Kensington. Went into the shop on Jan 16. Quized the fella at the counter about the quality of life of the capon chicken's, what they were fed, and the freshness. He answered knowledgeably. Did the same thing before purchasing the boar meat, and again he was very knowledgeable. Everything looks good in Sanagan's. Clean, well laid out, decorated, and affordable. The take away foods of soup and pasty's were also delicious, and there is space to sit and eat them in store. Only negative: You may smell like you were in a cooked food place when you leave, but not too badly. I'll be back.

Sanagan's is my favourite place in the city for meat. It may seem a little expensive, but start buying meat there and TRY to go back to the grocery store- you'll quickly realize nothing else tastes so good! On top of having a ridiculous selection (wild boar chops, anyone?) they buy from local and ethical farms. They can tell you all about the life of the animal and the farm on which they were raised, and then give you just about any cut you want. Did I mention it's delicious!? Tip: If your order is special or if you're running late, you can call ahead and they'll hold it for you.

This store is curated, artisinal and all the other progressive dog whistles that one could imagine right down to the over zealously attentive know-it-all serrver staff. They are agressively accomodating wih a dismissive edge when you fail to conform to their expectations of you. The meat is overwrought and overpriced as are the prepared foods and despite thier echo of all the PC nostrums they are in it for the bucks and only that. The service is rushed and pressured, the servers are like cult members. Most offensive is he certitude with which they claim to be contributing to saving the planet etc.. by charging 5c for a bag which probably costs 5c for a hundred and the smugness of the server when questioned about this gouge - if you spent $500 we would still charge you for a bad. there you have it - we rip you off so we can virtue signal. Avoid this place

Sanagan's is my go to butcher shop. I can proudly say that I travel here from Durham Region. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Best things to buy here in my opinion are sausages (they have a wide variety), chicken, lamb, pork, deli meats and ground meats (perfect for making hamburgers). Sanagan's also sells jam and other condiments. If you want to try something really good roast a pork loin and glaze it with a nice jam purchased from here. Sweet and savoury perfection. If your looking for a quick weeknight dinner grab a rotisserie chicken and pair it with a side. Sanagan's rotisserie chicken blows Sobeys and Metro's out of the water. If your passing through Kensington Market make sure you stop by this gem. Peter and his staff don't disappoint. Fun Fact: Sanagan's Meat Locker has been featured several times on the show Come Dine with Me Canada.

Quality of meats is top notch. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. My favourite place to buy meats at. The roasted chickens always smell so amazing, i have to try them one day.

Fantastic butcher from cold cuts, to poulry and beef. Great 40 day aged tomahawk steak is highly recommended alongside many of the marinated meats such as the jerk chicken or terrayki miami short ribs. One of the biggest reasons I visit is because they purchase their meats from farmers who treat their animals well (no factory farming, open pastures, etc). Prices are reasonable relative to other butchers in the city.

Great quality products. Burgers are great. Poultry is good. Variety of sausages to pick from. Wild boar is a must try. Steak is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for.

Excellent selection of meat. I was looking for some Elk and they had it available frozen. They also had freshly made Bison Burgers along with some steaks and ground meat I purchased with my elk. The staff were very keen to help and answered all my questions (as I had asked about how to cook with Beef Tallon - which I added to my order). Customer service is outstanding. This is an excellent butcher shop, so glad I made the trip. I will be a regular.
