Having been a regular patron of Barberians since the mid 70’s, when COVID hit and the restaurant was forced to close its doors, it was as if someone had locked me out of my house.
Fortunately Arron created Barberians Butcher Shop under the expert management of Victoria and Patrick, thereby ensuring that those of us who needed our Barbarians fix were taken care of - pandemic or no pandemic.
Barberians has always prided itself on using the best quality ingredients, offering superb service, and when it comes to portion size, their motto is “good big or go home.”
I’ve been a “regular” at the Butcher Shop since it first opened and can attest to the fact that they have continued to offer the same quality products, service and ginormous portion sizes as I had come to expect in the restaurant – which btw is now open for in-house dining.
This past week we ordered the Thanksgiving meal kit for 2 and it was truly the “kit” that kept on giving.
Comprised of a perfectly marbled 3 pound, dry aged Prime Rib roast, wild mushroom soup, baked potato kit for 2 (with sour cream, fresh chives, bacon bits and feta cheese) and 2 pieces of the best pumpkin cheesecake I’ve ever eaten, we incorporated it into 4 separate meals.
We had the soup – which was outstanding – for lunch, the Prime Rib for dinner together with the cheesecake for dessert, the baked potatoes the next day with some grilled pork loin chops, and then incorporated the items we didn’t use from the baked potato kit into an omelet for breakfast!
All of the meal kits we have tried were equally prodigious and delicious, so order one up and maybe you won’t have to go grocery shopping for a couple of days.
