I wrote a Facebook comment about how this place operates and it got deleted, so I'm posting here to warn potential victims to this scam. A kid knocked on the door at 7pm offering a free sample of beef. I agreed to accept a sales pitch the following day after work. A man came to the house with the sample as promised, and proceeded to baste me with a long, high-pressure sales pitch about how their products are local, ethically sourced and GMO free. He even went so far as to say that the animals are killed in such a way that they aren't stressed so somehow that's healthier to consume. (Which is BS, lions aren't affected by how stressed the gazelle was when they killed it.) After the pitch, he showed me a list of products that Nutrafarms provides and we discussed which ones I would use most. He then filled out a sales agreement for $3700 worth of product, plus a free freezer, and tried to get me to sign it. At this point, we had not discussed how much of each product I would be receiving, or at what price per pound. I declined to sign the agreement and he refused to leave any documentation or even a product list. I strongly recommend to anyone considering this to consult reviews on Google, Facebook, as well as Indeed for reviews from former employees. This business is a scam. If it weren't, they wouldn't need to attack negative reviews, delete Facebook comments, or sell door-to-door and resort to high pressure sales.

Despite some skepticism at first, we had a great experience. The food was very high quality and our sales rep, Neil Gordon, worked hard to make any adjustments and accommodations we needed, including a new freezer to hold the food.

We were approached at the door to receive a free sample of meat. I was told that someone would deliver next day. Next day a salesman showed up with a free sample. Asked to come in. See in I was receiving a free sample I let him in to give me a pitch. The salesman became very pushy and demanding.. Gave me a presentation binder and started into his sales pitch. He asked if my wife would be joining and I said she was on the phone. He said he needed her to see the presentation as well and wanted to wait. I told him she would join after her call and to proceed. I interrupted his presentation with questions which seemed to frustrate him to no end. Who's the customer? When I discovered we had to purchase a years worth of product all at once I told him that would not work for us, he asked why. I said we buy what we consume, and will only stock a month at most. He proceeded to tell us they could offer a really good deal on a new freezer. We already have a freezer! So whats the problem he asked. I asked him if they could offer a subscription service on a weekly or monthly basis. And he told me no one does that. I started naming other services and he said they will all be out of business in 6 months or less. Its this type of sales arrogance that causes businesses to ignore disruption in the marketplace. This man was in denial. He did not listen to a potential customer, and was only interested in how big of an order he could get me to finance! I got my sample, and the salesman left leaving us feeling we wasted HIS time for a free pound of ground beef. I told him that I'm sure their product is good, but we don't need to purchase a years worth of product for thousands of dollars, which they would happily finance costing me even more! There are services that will allow me to pick what I want online, delivering it on whatever schedule I require. I'm purchasing food, not a car! You better wake up, because the competition is going to consume you! In conclusion, this was a horrible sales experience that reflected poorly on what might be a good business. They lost their chance with our family! I give two stars, as we did receive a free package of lean ground beef!

I had a very bad experience with Nutrafarm. We had a very kind gentleman come to our door to talk to us about how much we ate meat (roughly 3 times a week) and a bit about Nutrafarm and my husband I were interested in learning more and getting a free sample of frozen meat. The "sales" guy came by the following evening and again asked about our meat consumption and we said roughly 3 times a week and that we spend anywhere from $100-150 a week on groceries for the two of us. He completely halted his pitch and said that Nutrafarm was not right for us their smallest package was $66/ week on meat alone. He then left immediately and took the free sample with him. We were a bit shocked that we were not even asked but rather told that Nutrafarm was not right for us. I feel we were a bit cheated here...

Purchasing food that we know is local is important to us, and we appreciate the quality of the meats/protein that Nutrafarm provides. This is our fourth time we have ordered from Nutrafarm, because of the choices offered in our custom orders, and convenience of having it delivered. Other then the meat being tasty, we were under quoted and ran out of meat after 4 months Still had to pay the 3000 dollars and had no meat. Even more frustrating, it is impossible to get ahold of anyone to actually talk to. I have called our rep 4 times and sent 5 emails in 3 weeks to clarify payment stuff and I have yet to hear back. From the first person who greeted us at the door of our home, to the phenomenal quality of product, to the delivery guys that came on time in a snowstorm in December, we have been amazed with this company and their products! The steaks are great, the chicken is through the roof and the price is perfect. We have recently put in our second order and are looking forward to barbequing throughout the winter!

Cannot describe how much better the meat is compared to grocery stores; no "mystery" water comes out of the meat after thawing, no red! juice/ blood either (did you ever wonder why they place those blood sponges at the bottom of the packaging in the store?) Best of all a 5 lbs roast comes out as a 5 lbs roast... The flash freezing and vacuum seal are ideal for us in the past 3 years of buying I never experienced freezer burn or funny tasting meat. Excellent customer service (we were not 100% satisfied with a roast, were given a credit and told we could keep the other *used it for stew), price is locked for 3 years, always get a few extras thrown in, the guys taking the orders each year are no pressure, great to talk to and knowledgeable with the product. No questions at all that we will continue to be customers.

Went to make an order the replacement never told me I had to have a certain credit score after I already put in my deposit. They call me 2 days before my delivery saying I need a cosigner because I am 5 points 2 short , have complained about the situation 3 times already called in to support and STILL have not received my deposit back and it has been 2 MONTHS with them telling me it would be a week. Never received a delivery and have had my deposit taken with no return.

I just finished ordering for my second year from my local rep Neil! I cannot recommend them more, the quality is incredible, individual packaging, and always having food for a meal on hand is great. Initially I thought the defrosting would be a headache, but throwing it in some warm water in the sink has it ready by the time you've chopped your veggies!

They want you to buy a minimum of 16 cu ft worth of meat in one order!!! Rediculous, perhaps if you are a large restaurant or a residential home that would make sense. This should not be marketed as something for regular consumers.

Delivery was on time, however the order was missing an entire selection, which was substituted with a similar product. For context, the delivery was the day before the Provincial shut down due to Covid -19. Upon calling Nutrafarms to advise, they said they would get back to me. I called the day after the delivery and twice again during the lock down, to try to resolve the problem. Just recently, they reached out to me. Having done their background work, they knew about the substitution and my calls to their office and apologized and offered to deliver my original selection that had been substituted. All in all, and understanding the constraints placed on everyone due to the pandemic I am very happy with the products, and their customer service. Thank You Nutrafarms

Neil Gordon is our rep and he is a wonderful example of how professional this company is. He assisted us in determining exactly what was good for our family and quantities for a year -- something that is tricky to figure out. Nutrafarms is a local butcher who delivers excellent quality. Their meat; beef, pork, and chicken, is better than anything we have purchased locally at grocery stores. It's like having a butcher in your basement all the time. We also get fish such as sushi grade tuna and salmon, chicken wings, and hot dogs (like the best ever!). This year we are trying the Red Snapper, and I expect it will be as delicious as all the other products we have received. Wonderfully handy when guests drop in, because we always have something to serve. The meat is packaged in individual servings, making it easy to work with. All of it is flash-frozen and so well packaged, that even with a 6-hour power failure, the meat didn't spoil or loose vacuum. We are starting our second year with Nutrafarms, and happily. I expect we will never again buy meat from a supermarket. Thank you Nutrafarms.

I sent a note asking for a sample as my wife and I were looking to support nom factory farming. We were going to buy a freezer of meat. They started being very pushy- when are both you and your wife home - my wife or I can make a decision it is not 1950. 8 texts each more aggressive than the last about how long the mtg would take (up to 2 hrs) Finally I gave them a day and they never showed LOL Ridiculous Found a small farm in Muskoka and placed an order for the winter, no hassle no sales pitch ... Keep looking these guys are clowns

I highly recommend Nutra Farms! Their service is exceptional, but so much more so are the meats and vegetables they provide! I have bought organic since 1985 and have never seen so little fat in minced meats. Previously, when cooking meats there was always a lot of shrinkage. Not so with Nutra Farms meats! Their meats are no smaller in size after cooking! Amazing! - Besides that, I find all of their meats and vegetables are much more flavourful than any others I've purchased, cooked with, and eaten, in all that time. Truly delicious! - Their prices are exceptionally good as well - good savings for families and freezers stocked for the year with no need for spending time shopping weekly for meats, fish, and vegetables. - I had wanted to make healthy bone soup/stock for years but couldn't find them anywhere. He explained to me that all their livestock are raised in a traditional way, they are grass fed and are not treated with any drugs. Seeking High quality organic and free range/grass fed (ethically raised) meat as well as organic produce, for our family, my wife and I joined several years ago and have never looked back. The order comes once every ten months or so and we even bought a basement freezer from them because the price was too good. Prices are a little better than store organic costs but the convenience of not adding the meat to our weekly grocery jaunts is great. The most important part is the meat tastes great. We had a great rep and, so far, a hassle free experience. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. Plus I love supporting farming methods done the right way!

Please don’t believe all of the positive reviews on here. Many of them are from sales reps. Almost got roped into this, thankfully, my fiancé and I were able to cancel before taking delivery. The food is overpriced and they refuse to tell you how much you’re paying per pound of food. This company is way too sketchy for me and therefore, I would not recommend.

Wow I wished I checked here first. Last night someone came to the house to deliver a ‘free sample’ and pitch and boy was it ever more aggressive then I wanted. I had to give personal information for the night to end. Add to it I told the sales rep I would let them know in the coming days and when I advised this morning we were going to pass on their $5000 year long commitment, the manager called and harassed me. When asked the manager to stop the pushing, the mananger (Mary)kept going. Stay away from this company!

Just place our 5th order with Nutrafarms. We keep coming back because the quality of the chicken and pork is amazing and the steak is excellent. Over the years we have also started picking up a few of the staples through them too as the pricing on some of the canned foods is very good. The only issue, if you can call it that, is having to figure out how to pack everything in the freezer, but to be fair, it is a fun problem to have. We will be all ready for BBQ season shortly. Also not meal planning around meat that is on sale is great. Excellent service year after year. It's a no brainer for us!

Used to work for them, shady company terrible buisness model. They just repackage and freeze average meats and sell them to you for astronomical prices with terrible customer service. And they make young people run around door to door getting them sales. Posted this here since they manipulate there facebook reviews, know a few people who used the service and used to work here as well, i should ask them to post tlreviews as well. Just freeze your own meet for a quarter the price?

I'd love to recommend this service, but can't. The quality of the meat is very good, but there is just so much risk associated with buying 1 year of meat all at once. It also takes up a lot of space and it's a big initial effort to unbox and store everything in a massive freezer. The freezer provided (rent to buy) by the company unfortunately didn't close properly at one point (bottom pull-out bin sometimes got stuck and this time it pushed a bit on the door, which then pushed it open and it wasn't noticed for 3 days since that freezer is in the basement) and we lost about $2000 worth of meat. Nutrafarms couldn't do anything about it and suggested we make a home insurance claim, which wouldn't be worthwhile, given the premium increase we'd see from that. I just think that loblaws and others offer solid organic options these days, making it not worthwhile to go with such a huge upfront investment and the risk of losing a significant portion of your meat if anything happens.

Your door to door marketing is a joke. A teenager knocked on my door late at night, awkwardly promising me a free sample the next day at an agreed upon time. I got a call the next day saying that they wouldn't be by until later - they never showed up or called. You wasted my time, and were very insulting on the phone (e.g. are you able to make major decisions without your wife home? - seriously?). Your product may be great, but your professionalism is not. Hard pass.

We have 2 autistic children that DO NOT like to go grocery shopping so this is so convenient for us plus The food is absolutely the best HANDS DOWN PERFECT and we know that it is not full of everything else that keeps being recalled from the grocery stores. Don't care much for the pure and gentle cleaning products but absolutely love the food and taste of all of their meats. CHICKEN STRIPS are so yummy we cannot order enough of them. Although meat quality is great, they LIED to me about the freezer being free. One of my questions was "Wow, really? Can I keep it afterwards?" Their rep said "yes". I received a bill receipt that shows NO amount in front of "Freezer Amount" (See picture!). What they did instead was give me less meat to compensate for the freezer. The next year I get a call from them telling me I'd get more this time because I already had my freezer and I was like "Wait! What?" The freezer was the main reason I didn't renew and also the fact that I didn't think the amount/value ratio was good enough for me.

Biggest rip-off, horrible customer service, lies about products origin, and the quantity for the price. They did not trade products we didn’t like for something else as advertised. The quantity is nowhere near a years worth of anything! Basically I bought $5,000 worth that was to last my family 10 months to a year (It lasted 6 months). I paid $500 a month for ten months, meaning I paid $2000 over four months for nothing, and I had to buy more meat from the market on top! Many of the products came from the USA, not local, this was disappointing because I thought I was supporting locally, and obviously they lied about that too. Don’t make the same mistake as I did, and don’t buy from this pathetic excuse for a business! I’d give zero stars if possible..

Their meat is good, but prices are outrages. It's not cheap organic meat as their paid google ads suggest. Watch out before you consider them and do your research. Was able to find same quality for 25% of their price.

I have just signed for my 3rd order, i.e., the third year. There are only 2 of us in the house but the size of the order suits us fine. And no, it is not cheap but it is cheaper than if you go to a good quality butcher and as good or better. I noticed some reviewers call it expensive but they may be used to much cheaper cuts of meat! It does seem a bit ridiculous to have that much meat in the house but boy does it make it easy to plan meals even at the last minute and I am always prepared for company. It also stops all the impulse buying you do when you run to the grocer, butcher or Farm Boy to buy something quickly for dinner. I think the meat is very tasty and recommend the products.

It's great to be able to look at the full order in your house and return anything you feel they sent too much of. This is hands down the best meat I have ever tried!, I'll admit I was hesitant at first as I am one that likes to do my own research, however once I finished conducting my research, I found that this company out all the other ones I looked at (not mentioning any names) where the most willing to answer any questions I had and on top of that put all there results that they were telling me over the phone on their website! There is currently no other company that I have come across who will post all there test results of their animals on their website and state in writing free ranged, gmo feed free, antibiotic free, drug free, etc. Not to mention the process in which they take to harvest there meats, they go above and beyond any other farmer I have ever asked questions to about harvesting and raising meats. hang dried beef for a month compared to 7 day AAA beef at fortinos lmao Ill take premium hang dried beef any day of the year, sell my car to pay for it if I had to!

I love the product. I love the convenience it provides to my day to day life. No more club packs or family packs to take out. Individual servings protects me from wasting food. Quality cuts and hormone free are two aspects that has me coming back to the programme year after year. Being able to pick choose the package I want is great. we were very disappointed with our order. our sales lady was great, but we got a LOT less food than we expected. we feel like we overpaid for the amount of food we got. also, customer service was very slow to respond to our issue and as of today (3 months later), still haven't solved our problem. we were given the wrong food and we have to be the ones to call them to get them to come deliver the right food. we have initiated all of the communication and we are very dissatisfied! cannot review this enough to share to other potential buyers to be aware before they hand over so much money to this company.

Don’t let the 1 star reviews keep you from purchasing from Nutrafarms- half of the reviews are people complaining that a sales rep knocked on their door. These reviews do not reflect the quality and quantity of the products you receive. My husband and I just finished ordering our second round of meat with Shawn Wilson and we cannot wait for our delivery next weekend. We became customers last year and it really was one of the best decisions we made. Not only do we save time by not having to go to the grocery store every other day, we also save money from buying meat in bulk. Not to mention the quality is outstanding and we know that what we are eating isn’t riddled with fillers and other harmful additives. It is 100% Free Range and Natural meat! (OH and I forgot to mention you get a freezer with your purchase and all of the meat is flash frozen and vacuum sealed)! And since this was our second order we were able to sit down with Shawn and go over what we wanted to change on this order. For example- we found we ordered too much ground beef last time so we were able to customize our order and add more pork. We also got a months worth of free meat because we already had the freezer from last year. AND to add to all of this- we also receive $300 worth of free all natural cleaning products. So it’s safe to say my husband and I are customers for life! Thank you Nutrafarms!

I would give this outfit zero stars if I could. They call their chicken breasts "larger than usual"; in actual fact, they are from killed older - and much tougher - chickens. Their striploin steaks are so poor I would never dare serve them to a guest. Their salesman spoke of the high quality of the meat, and as proof offered reports verified by an organization called "Free Range Canada Limited". That turns out to be a fraudulent Nutrafarms front, with an "office" in a mailbox in a UPS Store in Barrie, Ont. Everything about this company is dishonest. Don't go near them, or you'll end up stuck with a freezer full of awful meat.

I'm a customer of Nutrafarms for a second year and was very happy until last delivery. The sales guys that went to my house did a huge mistake. I was asked to get the same amount of meat that I got last year, and he by mistake forgot to write one of my choices, and so I got a wrong amount of meat. Also, he told me that because this year we don't need to spend money on the freezer, we will get more meat. Now I'm trying to get an answer what should be the next step speaking with customer service for a week. The only answer I get that I need to do an exchange, so I need to return almost all an "extra" meet that I get. I'm very disappointing. The only thing I wanted is to get at least the same amount of meat that I got last year.!!!

Worked there for about a month. I think it's a shady place to work. You get paid 15$ per hour OR commission, whichever is more, cool, what they don't put in the employment contract is that at the end of 8 weeks they stop paying hourly rates at all and deduct any hourly pay you have accepted until that point from future commission only pay. They also have a tough time with taxes. My first paycheque was for $300 and didn't have any deductions, but my next paycheque had an EI deduction but no other taxes which is a red flag for me.

We've been customers with Rob at Nutrafarms since 2012. Their meat is of such high quality that we could never go back to grocery store meat! Incredibly tasty. The customer service is great - if there is a mistake in the order, they come to your door to pick it up & replace it. It is SO NICE to just walk downstairs to our basement to grab the meat we need for dinner. It is all individually packaged and extremely convenient. Menu planning is very simple now. AND the meat defrosts quickly because of being 'flash frozen' - many times we've forgotten to take meat out of the freezer at night for the next day's supper - but no worries - we can take it out an hour or two before dinner, soak the package in water, and voila! It is defrosted and ready to cook. You will not be disappointed. We're referred two of our friends as well and they are also returning customers.

At first we still bought some grocery store meat because we didn't want to use the Nutrifarm meat too fast. A Nutrafarms rep dropped by and asked what a good time would be to "drop by the next day with a free sample of beef" that was hormone, antibiotic free etc etc. I was somewhat surprised but thought maybe it could be good quality so I gave them a time of day we would be home and phone number. Absolutely no other information was provided to me about their business model, pricing or what was expected of us the next day, and nor is there any on their website. It turned out that the rep wanted to come into our home and sit down with my husband and I to discuss purchasing meat from them at length. Their least expensive option was a freezer full of meat (could not provide a quantity) for $3500. He could not tell us what it would be per pound or provide any other such info. We are not vegetarians however we eat very little meat so this pricing was utterly impractical for us, not to mention that I would have never agreed to the visit if I'd known what was involved. The rep was also expecting to speak to both of us, which is something I think we should have been told the day before. I'm providing this information for those of you out there who have been contacted and for whom this may not be a practical or affordable offer so you can make a decision before the rep arrives. And they didn't leave the sample, so don't bother going through the discussion if you're hoping to at least try the meat. And for the company, I would really advise that you properly disclose what is involved at the time you first offer to drop by the sample and put more information on your website.

We had a salesperson come to our house and give us the pitch about the Nutrafarms product. We were interested as the concept and quality of the meat is something we are very interested in. It would be a big decision to go this route with all our meat and fish purchased once a year but it seemed that Neil wasn't going to be satisfied until we gave him a cheque for $3400 on the spot. We needed to do some research and also analyze our shopping habits as we never really kept track of how much we spent on meat. And we wanted to do some fact checking on the claims made. Glad we did. The idea of everything being frozen was a new concept to us as we like to eat fresh food. Neil insisted that the freezing method they used was the same that the Keg restaurants used on all their meat products. I checked and the Keg informed us that all their products are prepared from fresh and never frozen. This looks to be a blatant case of false advertising and makes me wonder how many more of the Nutrafarm claims are false.

Stay away from this company! They offer a "Free Sample", however it is most definitely NOT just a free sample. I was asked if I'd like to try the meat for free, to which I said yes! Next day, I have someone come to my door and nearly force himself inside, wanting to sit down and go through everything. My house was in no shape to have anyone inside, nor did I wish to sit down and go over everything at that moment in time (again, there had been zero inclination of any of this happening whatsoever), so I did not invite the man inside. I asked him to give me some basic information while standing on my porch (it was a nice day even, not even being rude), and he essentially said, "Well we are usually welcomed inside the homes to sit and talk, so there's not much I can say now". He wanted to come inside to sell me on it, which I obviously understand, but I had only been told that I could get a free sample of their ground beef with no mention of a sales pitch, and was not prepared or comfortable with having him personally come inside. He then told me that "Well, I have one more house to visit after you, and only one free sample, so I'll hang onto this for them instead". He left with the sample after all that! I haven't even tasted their meats, but after this experience + reading other reviews on their sketchy sales tactics, I'd definitely stay away from these scammers!

I've used this service a few times in the past. I've also tried others with same model. The meat here was definitely better. I'm not sure if it's better to save up and pay it all up front or go on a plan. Ive done both. I think one way to do better is to provide a better breakdown of pieces of meat and estimate price or value e.g. hamburger, # or lbs, $/lbs, total $... Etc. I know better quality generally means higher price than grocery store but seems like costs are not available for customers when it might help me make decisions about what my order will be comprised of.

My family and I have been ordering from Nutrafarms for 2 years now. We absolutely love the service and the quality of meats. I am happy to know that my meats contain absolutely NO drugs or chemicals and that it is all local. Not only is my sales rep knowledgable, and polite but my order arrives on time and with all the items I have ordered. The steaks are extremely tender (better than any I have ever had) and the chicken breasts don't shrink like the ones you buy at the grocery store. They have a wide variety of cuts and also offer roasts (which will melt in your mouth). You can tell just by looking at the meat that it is of far better quality than from the grocery store. My kids love the chicken fingers and I love knowing that they are being fed quality meats with no antibiotics (definitely gives me peace of mind). The convenience of having the meat delivered right to your door is another thing that is worth mentioning. I am so happy to have come across this company and my family and I will continue to support local farms.

After that, he pressured us into signing a one year contract. We said we wanted to try the product before committing to anything and we would call him back. Shady business practices. They come to your door and say they will drop off a sample the next day. Then after one month, they call, and ask if they can come today. You assume that they will just drop off a sample, and then leave. However, they try to get you to agree to a contract after doing a presentation. If you do not agree to the contract, you do not get the sample. Why would I want to sign up for something that I have not tried? Buyer beware. They never mentioned on the phone that there will be a presentation. They try to reel you in with the idea that you will get something 'free'.

Liza is a great rep. She came to my house and explained how the product is farmed and packaged. I was impressed by her knowledge of farming/butchery. I feel better about myself eating this kind of good food. I also think the way the food is flash frozen and stored in medical grade plastic has many benefits over a large order from the butcher shop. One will not have freezer burnt food wrapped in butcher paper 9 months down the line. I read a lot of reviews on other sites saying some high school kid showed up who was difficult to deal with. That was not the case for me, Liza has actually worked as a butcher before and could help out and make recommendations. The product was really good, I've tried it before at a friend's BBQ and the beef/bacon is really superb to the quality you'll get at Loblaws or Costco. There were some mix up's regarding delivery but I was contacted and informed of the errors well in advance. Their customer support is really knowledgable and well informed and I felt my interaction fixing up the delivery was overall positive. I will update this review after trying the product over a longer period to give others information.

Product is good overall, however the individually packaged chicken wings, breast etc, leaves a family pulling out multiple packs. Living slightly outside the Ottawa region, the sales staff has been less then responsive. While eager to meeting initially, we have had to push to get any change outs or service. Some of the order we received, the seals were broken on the meat, thus not consumable, we've been weeks trying to get a response. I won't recommend this company, nor will I purchase again. The extremely poor client service has left us thoroughly unimpressed.

The truth is, I don't need their service (above the standard ordering/delivery) because: - I put in my order twice a year with a sit down meeting in my home with their representative. - The delivery date is scheduled with their office person via a phone call - The order is delivered on the date and time specified. - The product delivered is what was ordered (often with some extras thrown in) of the high quality I have come to expect.

So I have officially tried everything at least once so figured I can give a honest review now. Our rep was Sarah bergen and I have nothing but positive things to say about her. She got me a same day meeting as I am very inpatient and did not want to wait. She was extremely professional and very knowledgeable about everything from start to finish. I was a bit skeptical about spending that kind of money up front, but I decided to give it a shot. The delivery went great, the guys were on time and put everything where I asked. The freezer that came with my order had a small dent in it. Customer service was prompt and corrected the issue right away. So now to the food..... The chicken... wow. I have smoked it.. grilled it.. cooked it in the oven.. and today some in the slow cooker. All amazing, and I'm very fussy with chicken. Bacon, steaks, fish,brisket, pork tenderloins and ground beef have all been really good. I can honestly say no comparison to store bought meet,so much better. I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested to give it a shot.

Our experience with Nutrafarms has been mixed, which is why we have to come in at a three star rating. One thing's for sure is that their meat is excellent, and you will be very happy at the quality of their product. That being said, depending on where you buy your meats now (even if you buy grass fed already), you may end up paying quite a bit more for their meat. For us, we had some issues with our order, and it was by no means smooth the whole way, but Darius, our sales rep, really went the extra mile for us to make sure that it ended up being a positive experience in the end.

A representative from nutrafarms came to our house and my husband made the mistake of saying he’d be interested. They have since called every single day at least 2-3 times. My husband works during the day and can not answer his phone.. or they’ll call during dinner. They also called at 9:30 in the morning on a Saturday, twice on a redial. INSANE. I feel completely taken advantage of with this place. The majority of the meat comes from the States. I initially filled out the online form to receive more information as prices aren’t listed on the website. To which an appointment is made for a sales rep to come to your house with a sample and to give information. We went over packages, how much money I typically spend on groceries etc. I told the salesman I may need some time to think it over. In came the heavy sales techniques and foolish me fell for them. Later that evening I reached out to my contact Holly and expressed signing up for a years supply of meat at a hefty cost wasn’t in my small family’s best interest at this time (me being a single mother). She said no problem and would pass along my message to the sales rep I dealt with (Scott) and his boss (Mary). The next day I received a phone call from Mary. She was rather shocked that I had decided not to go forward with the sale. I expressed my reasoning, and that perhaps if there was a smaller package available or a monthly/6 month option that may work but not yearly. She didn’t stop. She continued to try and try to sell to me even when I said I was at work and couldn’t talk about this anymore and had to end the call. I called and left a message after I was done work saying that I do not want to proceed. She called me again the next day. I said hello and before anything else she began questioning me about my marital status and relationship status as my boyfriend was present when Scott was at my home. She asked if he lived here and that he has money to contribute and it wasn’t just me and my son. I was appalled. I expressed that my relationship status or finances are none of her business and that I am solely responsible for my financial decisions and this isn’t one I wanted to make. She continued to argue with me, to which I had to say I SAID NO, I DO NOT WANT THESE SERVICES and ended the call. I’m shocked at how unprofessional Mary was - appalled actually. I’ve never received that much pressure to purchase anything in my life, including a house! I suggest you reframe your sales strategies and advise your staff that badgering and not taking no for an answer is not the way to acquire business. I’m very disappointed to say the least.

To be honest there was a bit of sticker shock when we purchased all of this meat in the first year... until the meat arrived. Boxes and boxes of incredible meat to feed a family of carnivores for a year. We are now in our second year and we could not be happier. We are very happy with the quality and Nutrafarms flexibility to swap out types of meat that we ordered too much of. Lastly, they also include a bunch of organic non perishables and box of natural cleaning products which is a nice value add. 5 stars!

recently had a nutrafarms rep stop by my house. They offered me a free sample so I figured I'd hear them, since I have been looking to support local and eat cleaner. From what the rep describe to me the meat isn't actually local it comes from a factory in Barrie, I was looking for something more local to Ottawa so I felt a little bit misled by this. Still I had an open mind because I wanted drug and chemical-free meat. However the rep wasn't able to give me a price per pound or quantities on what he wanted me to purchase the overall price of the package was almost $4,000 which he claimed would last me the course of 10 months. I have absolutely no problem spending more for good quality meat. However found it very weird that I wasn't able to get an exact quantity for my money. The rep then told me no farmer would be able to give me an exact quantity and no other companies would be able to give me exact quantities(since learned this is not true). As well the rep also tried to sell me soap with my meat which I thought was a little bit weird. Would love to support our Farmers here in Ontario nutrafarms but could you please come back and give me exact quantity and price per pound?

Our experience with Nutra Farms has been nothing but positive. This is our second order. The company stands behind their product which is comforting as a consumer. The experience is two fold: we’re supporting local farmers as well as benefitting from a high end product. We live in a day and age where sustainability is a factor for many of us who appreciate chickens who are rotated and who actually get to scratch the ground. We share our food with our daughter and she claims that she’s never had better chicken. So, the proof is always in the feedback from others. It’s not only the chicken. From the beef through the wild caught fish, there’s a marked difference between locally raised and commercial grade (store bought). It tastes and looks different. And as a consumer, it has to be different if we’re going to continue buying this product. We’ve always wanted to fill our freezer and we’re happy our first experience doing it was with Nutra Farns.

***UPDATE*** After leaving this review, Nutrafarms reached out to try and make amends. I was told I was over billed by $200, and could either receive a credit or the value in meat. We chose meat. We were moving at the time and asked if the delivery could be delayed until we moved. For some reason I missed one of Nutrafarm's emails, so my reply to a question was very delayed. However, I have since replied Jan 4th, and have heard nothing back at all; I have not received the delivery of additional meat. Additionally, I am still being charged, and this is month 10. I have asked when payments will stop, but no response. I paid a $200 deposit last March, so really my payments should have ended at the end of Dec2020. Very unimpressed. *** I am now almost six months into the first year with Nutrafarms, and feel I can now leave an informative and honest review. I was first approached by a rep asking if I wanted a free sample. We set up a date and time to go over the program. Matt DiMarco came by, and we had a nice chat about the products, services, and plans available. He provided the sample as soon as he arrived, meaning I could have cut the conversation short. I felt absolutely no pressure to sign up right away. The cost breakdown made sense to me, and seemed fair at the time. Delivery was arranged a week later, after going through the products, I found some were missing. A quick email to customer service, and a delivery was scheduled with the missing products no problem. After about a week, I received a letter from Home Trust, the third party that processes the payments for Nutrafarms, advising of the payments. I was a bit shocked, because the payment was higher than Matt and I had discussed. I tried to reach out to Matt, but received no response - it was as if he disappeared! I reached out to customer service, and they got me in touch with a manger. He explained that the payments Matt had told me were if I was paying over a year's time, however the plan is over 10 months time...I felt this was just a quick and easy way to get out of the payment discrepancy, but it was too late to really argue it. In total, it is equal to $40 additional per month than we had originally discussed. They had also advised that the chest freezer would be free of charge, and I would just have to pay the tax, however on the invoice, I was only discounted the freezer by 50% I believe. Now, I do understand that the products are of high quality, so I know costs are higher. The meat is very good, quick to thaw, and it is nice to know everything is organic...however, we are now at month six, and are completely out of ground beef, almost done with the chicken, and will most definitely, without a doubt, run out of product before 10 month's time, let alone a year. During the original conversation with Matt, he advised the amount of meat should last two people a year. We are only two people, and have not been having anyone over and using additional meat (especially due to COVID). We also are not always home (ie at work, etc), and are not using the meat 7 days a week. Overall, I am impressed with the meat, however, due to the price, I feel I can find just as high quality products, for a fraction of the cost.

Did have some issues with some of the packaging and Nutrafarms were very willing to exchange without any issues. Our Rep., Neil Gordon, is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to deal with. Different guy shows up the day after and doesnt give me the meat unless I invite him into my home, listen to his sales pitch and sign a contract. This is a scam and a scummy business tactic.

Very good quality meat however I'm still unclear on how their pricing works and they don't give a price list to work off so you can fill your order knowing what you're getting. I genuinely believe we got ripped off but as I said the meat quality is really there. The fact I'm left wondering if I'm over paying is enough to put me off purchasing next year. I would love to support local farmers but not if it means I don't know what I'm getting. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because we enjoy the meat. Bacon is by far the best I've had in a while.

We first started using Nutrafarms for our yearly order of meat a few years ago. Our first order included lots of meat and the special order came with a chest freezer. The kinds of meat available was quite varied and was very tasty. We even got advice as to how to prepare the meat for a meal. Last year we tried a local supplier called Ottawa Valley Meats but we did not like the quality of the meat and the representative was not helpful. We came back to Nutrafarms for their meat and their service.

New customer to Nutrafarms. The set up was easy. Our sales rep, Stephanie, was great. They were able to accommodate a delivery date that worked for me, delivery was fast and on time. The freezer was small, but a good deal for free! Meat so far as has been delicious. I will say, the customer service has been less than what I would have hoped for. I didn't receive an invoice of my order until delivery, which was okay, but I would have preferred that confirmation when the order was placed. I did ask for it but was told I would get it when everything was delivered. Also received zero information on when my weekly payments would start. After doing all of the leg work I was told one date and then another date. I'm hoping a large sum isn't taken out without notice.

I was skeptical at first that the items we were buying from Nutrafarms were "that" much better but quickly realized just how much better everything tasted. I'm not a big steak fan but have thoroughly enjoyed the steaks from Nutrafarm. Nutrafarms bacon is THE best bacon we've ever tasted. Everything we've had from Nutrafarms has been amazing (chicken, sausages, roast, burgers, etc.). And the best part is that we can decide what we want to eat, take it from the freezer and thaw it within 30 - 45 minutes in cool water!!! Anyone wanting quality products with amazing taste should place an order with Nutrafarms. It is SO worth it!! Better for the diet, better for the digestion, and much better quality. I have no doubt that the products they sell are good quality, which is why I am giving two stars. However, it is incredibly difficult to support a company that operates with intrusive and frankly manipulative sales tactics. Like other comments mention, we were approached by a representative of Nutrafarms and told that we would be receiving some free samples along with some "information." Being new the area, we thought that maybe this was a local farm or store trying to get the word out. It was a busy weekend so we did not have the time to look it up. After receiving what seemed like dozens of phone calls trying to catch us at home, that again they said was just because they wanted to "make sure someone was home to receive the samples," we answered the door to an individual who invited themselves in for a lengthy 30 minute conversation about the product line, which we never agreed to. When we explained we were a little surprised as we thought we were just going to receive some information along with the sample to try it out, the response was "I am the information." This was a classic foot-in-the-door technique, and I find it incredibly tacky and extremely intrusive. I won't be purchasing for from them for this reason among many others.

Absolutely rude and ridiculous just like alot of people are saying take the advice and the reviews they don't lie . Was optimistic about this and wanting to eat healthier and sat down with the salesman for quite some time.. very polite at first and all i asked was very simple .. "how many pounds of meat am i getting for just over $4000?" VERY simple question . Id like to think a complete stranger who shows up at your door asking you for $4000 dollars of your money would be able to tell you what theyre giving you . Kept dodging the question and refused to give me an answer saying "i dont know its computerized" isnt a sufficient answer. Especially signing a contract . I told him what i spend and he basically calls me a liar laughing atvme saying "absolutely no way . This is what u spend minimum." Hahaha okay now ur telling me how i do my grocery shopping basically telling me im an idiot and telling stories? Get a life . Not very professional or informative . They should be able to tell you EXACTLY what your getting and also how much total weight. Guy became VERY rude and aggressive raising his voice slamming his pen on the paper talking to me like im trash . Guy clearly needs an attitude adjustment. This simple .. if you want to know if your getting screwed over by these guys or any other of these shady businesses just do the math yourself .. simply add up what u buy normally at the grocery store and what it cost per pound especially if u stock up when its on sale and portion it .. then find the middle number between your highest price of meat and lowest price of meat .. for me i average $5-$7 dollars per pound in general .... They want just over $4000 dollars so find out how many pounds theyre giving you in total then divide it by the $4000 and see what it works out to because i can almost GUARANTEE its way over priced and thats why they wont tell you because they don't want people doing the math . Be straight up about your business and more informative. You ask for so much money and expect people to sign theyre life away. Thats obviously why they tie you to a contract . Never signed a contract IN MY LIFE that i didnt end up regretting . Screw these people .

My experience with Nutrafarm has been amazing! The grass fed beef, chicken and fish have been second to none in taste. The service and delivery was easy. They also include natural cleaning products in their order. The customer service is excellent. I was skeptical at the beginning, however, after calculating in my budget for 2 people I saved over $800.00 for the year plus with the convenience. This has really helped during COVID-19 as I didn't have to worry about purchasing meat or vegetables. Best thing they are flash frozen. Very pleased !

Every part of the Nutrafarm experience is worth the cost. The meat quality is far superior to the meat that you buy at the grocery store, and with recent inflation it is even more economical. The upfront cost is a large investment, but you get more for your money with this product. We enjoy all types of meat and cuts based on our needs and wants. Our sales agent Aaron has been a really great help and he has gone above and beyond for us to help us get the most out of our purchase. We not only love that the animals are treated more humanely but we also love to support Canadian farming families who are trying to make it in a tough farming world. The packaging is also more environmentally friendly than packaging from the grocery store. The meat is definitely less fatty and it has more nutrients so you need less of it to eat. It cooks up without losing water weight that has been injected into grocery store meat. They deliver a whole year's worth of meat and set you up with a freezer to store it. Customer service on all fronts have been stellar. All in all an amazing investment! I highly recommend this product!

We have Just placed our third order with Nutrafarm through Rob Martin. Service is good and meat is good quality. Yes it is expensive as you'll see a lot of people complaining about, but my wife who had previously commented that she didn't notice a huge difference tried store bought pemeal bacon and then complained how gross it was compared to the Nutrafarm meat. She changed her mind after realizing how much of a difference there was. So you do get the quality for the extra cost. Additionally, if you go for all steaks and more expensive cuts then you will find you don't get a full years worth out of it. get a good balance. We went much heavier on the chicken on our last order which is apparently a cheaper meat from them and we found the shipment lasted us 2 years. The first order lasted us 1.5 years.

Farm to table sounded like an excellent idea so my husband and I signed up with Nutrafarms. Unfortunately our meats were so disproportionate - we ended up with more beef and bacon than chicken and pork - which was not what we asked for as are heavy white meat eaters. So now we have extra bacon and beef in our freezer and had to start buying chicken 4 months earlier than planned. This put a huge dent in our grocery budget because now we were paying weekly for nutrafarms frozen meat that we don't eat AND paying for meat from the grocery stores. Also, the other "green" cleaning products that came with our order didn't clean well so we still had to go out and purchase regular detergents for our laundry and dishes. We unfortunately will not be doing this again. This is more expense that it's worth. On a more positive note the salesperson was polite and friendly and again, the idea of farm to table is a great one.

Once I received my order I wished I had selected more chicken as opposed to other meats, so I reached out and was able to use their 30 exchange program to make a swap. Effectively a scam. Charge you "per cubic foot" of meet so you don't realize you're paying 10x the price for the same product grocery stores have. Door to door salesmen offer "free samples" to get around the laws against harassing me peddling the scam to my house. Get lost, start a real business.

Well, I'll begin by re-posting my review on here since I was so conveniently blocked on Facebook AFTER they responded to my review and gave me some very valuable life advice (lol). If you want to order from Nutrafarms, you go ahead. I'm not suggesting that you don't. I am just not a fan of shady door-to-door sales, pushy tactics, and a company that won't let you post an honest review on their Facebook page without responding you in a very condescending way and then blocking you. In my opinion, that's not a smart way to operate a business. That being said, a rep came to our door with a sample and asked if he could come in and explain Nutrafarms to us so we said yes. We felt pressured into signing up but did anyways. We were told we would be getting 150-180 lbs of meat for $3,445. We were never told what kind of meat but just "a variety". The rep wants your credit card info, your driver's licence and your direct deposit information right on the spot. You are signed up to be approved through a retail credit services company for the full amount and then you pay it back biweekly, or weekly, etc. After he left, we got a case of buyer's remorse. We ended up cancelling the next day and freezing our credit card. $19-23 per pound of meat sounds a little expensive to us, and after reading some of the online reviews, we know we made the right choice.

This is our second year ordering. We love Nutrafarms and the quality of their products. One of the main reasons we love them is due to how the animals are treated. With our first order we didn't like the taste of the sausages and they came and picked them up right away and substituted with another product. Will never buy meat from Costco or the grocery again.

While working for Nutrafarms my boss, Darius threatened to withhold pay and I had to fight to get a response from him eventually tracking him down at head office. Even after all that I never received my T4 and had to estimate my earnings. The day I quit it was because I was abandoned in a neighbourhood in -30° weather while canvassing. I don't believe the management has much regard for its customers and the goal was to try hard to force close sales even if the customers could not afford the product. That being said the actual meat is great but I question the ethics of the organization and it's management.

Ever since I have had the pleasure of ordering from Nutrafarms, I knew I had come across my last source of meat. Perfectly packaged, portioned and butchered, each piece is as savoury as it looks. The taste is incomparable; anything available in stores pales in comparison. Full flavoured bacon without adding any spices. Tender, fully aged steaks. The pricing is completely affordable, the volume is amazing and worth every last minute waiting to eat it as it cooks on the barbecue. I will definitely be re-ordering again and again. The quality of meat may be good, but why would you want to buy frozen meat for a whole year? Hopefully, you don't get caught by a power failure! I'm sure your local butcher also sells local meat and it is fresh. The salesman that came to us claimed that supermarkets also buy frozen meat and then sell it as fresh. If that were the case, you wouldn't be allowed to refreeze that meat again (basic knowledge) The salesman was in a hurry to get us to sign the contract, but never wrote down in the contract how much meat we are getting for $3800.00. He only checked off which kind of meat we prefer, but never discussed how many pounds of each meat is included in the price. They are selling "packages". Whatever that means. And that's where their business becomes suspicious. So when you see one of their salespeople, ask them how many pounds you are getting for that price, and get them to write it down in the contract. My family and I (2 adults and two boys 6 and 8) have used nutrafarms for two years and just renewed for a third (thanks Aaron MacNeill). We have had a very good experience with the customer service reps, delivery, storage and quantity (we are on the first tier. Overall we really like the quality and flavour of the meat and really like the fact that the meat is local (Ontario based) and naturally raised. The price is a bit higher than what I would pay at the grocery store but it’s great knowing the meat is healthy, local and free of steroids and antibiotics. I would highly recommend this product

Nutrafarms are committed to excellent customer service! We used Nutrafarms 3 years ago and were not happy with the amount of food we got. We actually used another popular farming company and also did not have a good experience. We loved the idea of hormone-free meat in bulk so we gave Nutrafarms another shot. Because we didn't have a good experience the first time they sent their district manager Sean. He listened and answered all of our questions/concerns. We just signed up for another year and we still have meat in the freezer from the previous year. So happy with the customer service and quality of the product. :)

We have placed and received our 3rd order. We have not had any issues with the product. Everything is sealed and will stay in your freezer for well over a year. The staff are amazing. They are quick to answer any questions you may have. I would not have ordered for a 3rd year if we were not totally happy with the food. And we are. Blatantly lied to me at my door and said there would be no sales pitch ,just a drop off of meat.After 15 calls in three days I found out it would take a 30 minute sales pitch to get my 1 pound of ground beef. If they are lying about a sales pitch ,I always worry about lying about the product. Stay away from liars. I'm usually a pretty reasonable guy, if it make sense sure I would give it a try. Same sing and dance everyone else is saying. Someone came buy offer a free sample on Thursday, next day friday sales person shows up. Which is fine, came during my dinner time, didn't get the clue, I'm eating dinner and kept pursing to sit down. Which I still did...after going over everything I said we have to decide as a family to go forward with this or not...Monday...I just received a called from Home Trust Comp. that my application was pushing through for Nutrafarm??? We did not agree to this yet and I said you have to give me time to consider...now this put a sour taste in my mouth...and I will not go forward...this kind of pressure this company gives to their potential customer is ridiculous, and especially I did not give the ok to pushing the application through.

Just had a "sales person" come to my door at 7:45 pm. All because my wife has been ignoring the phone calls which are borderline harassment. 2 times a day for the last 2 weeks. Do they really need business this bad to go the these extremes. This honestly has got my blood boiling. If i didnt have a little one that i was trying to put to bed this wouldnt be a big deal. Had the sales rep drop by with a portion of ground beef and we listened to his presentation and came with the conclusions that Nutrafarms had no evidence to back up claims that meat was antibiotic free or grass fed and no evidence that this was Ontario meat. They have no certification labels nor is there any physical address to their farms but several listed addresses to their sales offices. I asked for an exact list of what we would be getting and was told that list is given only at the time of delivery. At the end of the sales pitch I could see the frustration on the sales rep when I told him we needed more time to search and read reviews and I told him we would not be signing anything until then. As for the meat itself I couldn't tell you what the taste is like because I couldn't take the chance of eating something that has little information to back their claims and also because it came from a non refrigerator vehicle. In conclusion I believe today's Market and choices offer up more than what Nutrafarms had to offer. I can go to Longos or wholefoods and buy antibiotic and hormone meat weekly and ensure I will never be eating months old meat. After doing a quick cost comparisons I find I would be saving the money if I didn't buy through Nutrafarms and for the money I would be getting exact address of where my meat was coming from. So if you get a visit from Nutrafarms read the reviews(BBB, google maps, glassdoor)on the web first and look or try find their mysterious farm in Stayner. Buyer Beware!

At the beginning of 2020 we met with Nutrafarms to discuss quality, pricing and what was best for our family. Our sale rep (Scott) went through our budget and needs. We received a free sample. It all seemed great! And it was!! About halfway through the year we had an issue that was resolved within days. They handled our concern better than any other company we’ve ever dealt with. All to make sure their customers are happy. I was afraid I was going to feel like a number or a pay cheque. And really and truly, I just felt like a person with a problem that Nutrafarms more than helped our family with.

This is such a great company. I love that their meat is pasture-raised (and finished) on small family farms without antibiotics. Everything tastes great and the selection is amazing. The (no spray) vegetables, fruit, and cleaning products are a great addition too. I love almost everything! I do wish they had lamb or goat as well, but maybe one day : ) Their customer service is always fantastic, and with my most recent request, Karen went above and beyond any hope I had to solve the issue. My wife and I recently (February 2015) signed up for Nutrafarms and are almost immediately in regret. The food (beef and pork mostly) is not horrible, but is no where near as good as touted by the sales rep. I agree with other forum posts that state the meat is overpriced to the point of almost being a rip-off. The sales rep told us we were going to sell us a new freezer as part of the package deal, but the freezer we got was not new, at least not based on the manufacturing label, turns out it was 2 years old. The quantity of food received did not appear to be correct. The delivery folks are of no assistance, "call customer service". Called customer service and they were useless, basically telling us to call the Ottawa area sales manager, which led to more frustration and lip service. Regret #1: agreeing to the contract Regret #2: not refusing delivery on initial disappointment Regret #3: not having read the forum posts and other reviews before signing up Almost goes without saying that I won't renewing again next year. And in a few weeks when the ground is thawed, I'll be placing a sign on my Barrhaven lawn to discourage any of my neighbours from making the same Nutrafarms mistake I made. We get to select only the cuts of meat we want and it is packaged in good sized portions and vacuum sealed - if any meat is freezer burned, it is replaced at no cost. The convenience of having the meat in the house is a huge bonus and makes grocery shopping so much faster and easier.

Second time ordering from Nutrafarms and it was excellent food and excellent customer service. Pokan helped us both times and everything was smooth and easy. The first time there was some supply chain issues due to the beginning of covid, but once we contacted them everything was handled very well and in a timely manner. Honestly could not be more surprised by the negative reviews. Maybe a few years ago their business model was different and more "hard sell" oriented? Meat is amazing quality. Yes it's expensive, but free range meat is expensive - what do you expect? It's not any more pricey than free range meat you buy in the grocery store. Plus they have a program where you can buy the same order at the same price for 3 years out. With inflation being what it is, this is a great deal! Delivery people were super nice. Meat is certainly not from the States. All Canadian. Again, maybe their business model was a little different a few years ago? Very happy so far. Steaks are some of the best I've ever had. Also, someone one stars them for giving their email as they were interested in learning more, and then gets upset when they follow up to schedule a meeting so you can learn more? If you don't have the time, don't say you are interested in a Zoom meeting. Honestly.
