I phoned them on a Thursday to see if they could help me out with an order and delivery before Saturday. They were so kind and helpful they took my order packed and shipped it all within that same hour. All the products was fresh and tasted just like home (South Africa). Amazing service and products. I had the idea of getting some dry wors for my wife for mother's day. She loves the stuff and misses it a lot. The idea dawned on me late Wednesday afternoon (lastminute.com) before Mother's day Sunday. I reached out on Facebook and promptly received a reply. I was told there was a good chance I could still get it in time. I placed my order around 5pm and before 8am the next day the package was marked ready for pickup! I received the package today (Friday). Only issue with it arriving today is the biltong and dry wors is so good it may not last until Mother's day. :) No hesitation to recommend Bokkie's Biltong for their products and amazing service.

Finally visited Bokkie's Biltong today and enjoyed friendly/knowledgeable service and tasty samples of their famous Biltong. It is so good that we bought 200g each of the original and chili. At home, I cut up a few pieces and added to my cheese omelette...it was outstanding! Looking forward to grilling our other purchases...two gorgeous strip loin steaks (over a pound each!) and beef sausage. So much to choose from...we shall return soon!

I’ve been going to this place for awhile, the younger lady is friendly and she engages in conversations. I went last week Friday and the older lady was talking to a customer in Afrikaans so I got excited and started asking questions in afrikaans, for real this women answered me in English and ignored the fact that I was taking in Afrikaans, I did this 3 times and she kept answering in English, maybe it’s because I was black and the other customer was white, I don’t know. It was not nice of her. I’ll never go back there again. Change you attitude auntie.

When I get a craving for biltong, I need it urgently! With Bokkie's I often get it the next day! (With other places I've tried, it takes a week or more. Who can wait that long to satisfy a craving? LOL) Their customer service is amazing, and so is their biltong. :)

I was a bit shocked to spend $50 on a flattened chicken ($18 per kg, marinated, fully deboned except wings) but easily the best chicken I've ever cooked. Lovely owners. If you are in or passing through Barrie I highly recommend the spot. We'll be back.

I was introduced to biltong, while living in Africa for a short while. I was excited to see a butcher shop that sold it here in Barrie. The biltong is fantastic - it's hard to eat regular store beef jerky after trying Bokkie's. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable. Moved to Canada from the UK where I made my own, due to lack of space I now have to buy it. Tried several places and all has been pretty average until I discovered this place. From the UK to SA to Zim, this is the some of the finest biltong and boerwors I have had the pleasure to eat. The store is fantastic with more than just biltong... exotic meats, Ms Balls to Mint Crisps! And the cut of the steaks are the way they should be..... BIG. Staff are beyond helpful and will gladly talk to you for hours! Love this place

Fantastic product matched with fantastic customer service. I had an issue with my order and hadn't received it. Contacted Anneke who owns Bokkies and she was incredibly helpful and sent out a new order right away and included an extra bag of biltong for the trouble. I highly recommend the chili biltong but quite honestly, its all fantastic!

I'd been meaning to head to Bokkie's for awhile after reading about their wares on their website. I finally made the trip over this week and I'm so happy I did. Their grocery and spice section is well laid out and full of tasty, unique yet accessible offerings. I bought some spices (including a recipe-included packet where the spices are pre-portioned to make trying a new dish easy) to create a Christmas basket for a budding chef. I also bought a packet of their signature biltong (I got the "Hunter's " variety): I was not disappointed and literally ate 1/3 of the packet before returning home that evening. I look forward to going on a day where I have more time to shop in order to explore their extensive meats collection. The staff members Dirk and Amanda were very friendly and even offered to write out some easy + tasty recipes for me when I have more time to shop and stick around for a chat. I'd include photos but unfortunately I got a bit over-excited about wrapping gifts so those images will not help you: too many ribbons 'n' bows involved ;) All I can say is go visit for yourself and discover this semi-hidden treasure trove of tasty goodness.

If you like game meat as well as tasty well prepared lunches or dinners, some great options available. Purchased the brisket sandwiches which were large portioned and extremely tasty. While at the store also purchased the chicken curry pie for dinner, which I'm sure is as tasty as the brisket.
