Fine products; pity it cannot be more up to standards. For example, the Venison and Wild Boar Paté, albeit the big letters on the packaging, is mostly pork. Turkey and Ham cold cuts are oversalted; sausages are artisan, hats down, but can be salty as well. Never on sale : ) Products mentioned are bought at Scarpone's and Sunterra.

Excellent deli. Some absolutely wonderful cured meats and other European style foods. The bacon and Montreal smoked brisket are superb. Highly recommend dropping by this little shop. It will supprise you. Lots of parking band helpful staff.

Top quality house brand deli meats and sausages, a good range of ready-to-cook marinated or breaded chicken/pork/beef/bison. Frozen entrees available in individual serving or family size (tortiere is pretty good). There's a also a selection of artisanal jams, relish and honey spreads and a small selection of European groceries. Haven't tried the cafe side of the house, nor the baked goods (we have too many allergies in our household).

This store has some very delicious things. It's not bad considering how small the town of Canmore is compared to a larger centre and the availability of game meat is appropriate. We love the smoked bison. My only complaint is that I rarely find the packaged charcuterie platters available in the fridge section, but I don't live in Canmore so perhaps it's my timing on the weekend. The sandwiches are delicious, the baked goods average, but the meat is where it's at. Not cheap though.

Even since moving from Canmore make a point to stop in when we are in town. Great deli for a tasty lunch and the butcher shop is amazing, so many great meats and frozen options here, as well a selection of game options, Elk burgers, venison pie, game landjaeger are unreal. Great steaks, chops and other fresh options. Some things are kinda overpriced but you do get quality for the money, most prices are great for what you get.

Incredible variety of sausage and dried/smoked meats. Everything we have tried from Valbella has been delicious. I would highly recommend the frozen chicken pot pie (yes frozen). Just throw it in the oven and it comes out perfect.

I've been purchasing Valbella meats from Sunterra locations in Calgary for a few years and have fallen in love with their deli meats and especially their bacon and smoked pork chops. The location in Canmore was a carnivorous delight and one that has a steady customer whenever I pass through. I highly suggest the Smoked Pork Chops and the Mergeuz sausage.

Absolutely amazing experience from the smiles at the front door right down to the quality of the meats! One of my favourite's is the Carnivore Kit, coming with a variety of different meats and ready to eat meals. Great way to stock up for the week! They even offer free delivery in town!

Gross because your ham and cheese pocket the casing was chewy and uneatable further more it was mushy and had to much ham. Also you should put less sauce on your sandwiches. It was like eating a spoonful of aioli. Only positive was your Swiss and German imports.

These guys are everywhere. I see them in Calgary and in shops all around. I would call them a "specialty food store" because they really sell things you don't find anywhere else in town. The key with them is quality. Nothing is subpar here. Well done

I'm a new Valbella customer, but I must say the bison and wild rice pie is amazing! It was nice and juicy, great seasoning, flaky crust, with whole cranberries tucked inside. We opted for the shipment to Calgary rather than picking up in store. Everything we ordered was packed nicely and delivered on time. I can't wait to try the tourtiere, bison burgers and Mennonite sausage that was also part of our order. I have a feeling it will not disappoint!

Their new location looks wonderful inside and out. With a selection that has always been a hallmark of why Valbella has such great local renown. The one star only is for the two staff that were more interested in talking to their guy pals or just restocking with their heads down. After waiting for more than an unnecessary amount of time at one counter we swapped to the other side/counter, items placed and ready to go. But we were still ignored. Super disappointing for what is genuinely such a high quality local food supplier. We'll come back again no doubt. Hopefully I can update this review with kinder words about the staff and give this place the 5 stars it deserves!

A canmore institution! Valbella has high quality German/Swiss style meats. I pop in on occasion for lunch. Pre pandemic, Walter, the founder, usually held court right by the door. It's that kind of place. They do lots of business with restaurants in and out of the valley, which speaks to their quality. Try the schnitzel sandwich!

Great place! It’s got a deli on one side and a small little cafe on the other. Staff is super friendly (owner even came around and talked with us) and the food absolutely delicious. The sit-in eating area is a little small, but it still makes for the perfect place to duck in for a bite to eat. Will definitely come back here on next trip to Canmore.
