Two Rivers has great meats make no doubt! Sadly, they have lost their distinction of also offering good value and now match other 'boutique' butcher pricing in the city. With new pricing at $30/kg for brisket they've become disconnected from their own proud Yellow Bus Kicking Horse River background which has become merely a branding tool. On the flip side this secures a huge opening for someone who wants to set up an online meat ship/delivery business to Van from Alberta where I can still pay $15.50/kg for brisket and $5.50/lb for pork shoulder. I'm certain they'd even provide a photo of your smiling animal frolicking in an open green field at no extra charge.

Don’t feel like driving to Pemberton? Want to eat a burger and then drop $100 on Wagyu Steak?!? If you eat meat, you must go here! The only place better to buy meat was an old lady who sold it out of the back of a truck at Farmers Market and she’s gone!!!!! So...yeah! This place is good!

I went here for lunch and would say peak time is from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm - it doesn’t hurt to call ahead and see how busy it is because the wait can be 30 or more minutes. I ordered the “Dirty Fries” - roughly $12 after tax and is a fairly big portion. It was very filling and could easily be shared between two as an appy. The tomato salsa had a different taste and I don’t think I would get it again, BUT only because the burgers going by me looked amazing. The fries were very good as well. Awesome atmosphere here - staff is extremely friendly and the room has high ceilings and a nice patio. Casual seating and kept very clean.

This place is so good, food is superb. The only problem I have with this place is that it's not open Sundays. But now I'm told it will start opening on Sundays mid February and it will also open for meals Wednesday through Saturday until 10.00 pm. Today after our vacation we come back to enjoy the famous hamburger, the patio was full but the parking lot had one empty space just for me. Superb service and food plus a very high level of cleanliness.

Restaurant located inside a butcher shop. Be aware that you will be eating alongside countless sides and cuts of beef - in case that bothers you. I recommend sitting up at the bar so you can chat with the grill cooks. Super friendly staff who are willing to discuss meat! Two Rivers makes the best burgers and fries. Meat done right.

It looks and is a butcher shop but is also North Vancouver treasure for foodies. This a great restuarant that is not vegetarian friendly (they do have A salad) and beer. Happy hour is between 3 and 5.. The menu changes regularly and is always very good. The area is not picturesque but you are not paying for the location...... the decor is clean modern and the prices are reasonable.

I was so exited to test their food based on reviews on google, I made it yesterday and now im going to share my experience: 1- their Burger was very normal burger like what you will get on most Canadian restaurant. 2- Their chicken was so dry, just a little spice on top and pretty much is like what you can can from costco or safeway fried chicken, nothing was WOW or impressing for me, Expect their popcorn which was very delicious(And its free), Their food is over price for the quality and quantity, they dont have cocke or fanta or regular soft drinks, they offer free water and Mexican ginger and cola which I hate it. Customer service was very normal, or better to say average. Overall is not a place That im going to recommend anyone.

Great concept of a butcher / dinner-counter spot. The ramen gets four stars. It was good but not on par with Vancouver’s many ramen joints. Burgers, sausages, and chicken are all very good. Quality of burger and chicken (ordered at least three times now) seemed to vary from visit to visit, though. Never bad, just not always five-star worthy.

I was truly impressed with the cleanliness and organization of this store. All the meat prep is very transparent and it's displayed in an appealing manner. I ordered the burger and it blew me away. The Patty was full of juices and flavour, and complimented nicely by the toppings. The free popcorn doesn't hurt as well. Will definitely recommend!

This gets annoying because while you are waiting for your food, the barbecue smell in the environment makes you even hungrier. Hot sauce lovers; you wont have any options. The hot sauce they sell you has a bit if spice thats it. I like the complimentary popcorn cups too. other than pop and juices, do offer wine and beer as well.

This is a gem on the North Shore. I don't use the butcher here but often have been to the commissary on many occasions. I appreciate the modern atmosphere and the menu which features a lot of familiar items and a few unique features. I frequently find myself ordering the tallow fries with my meal. They are so decedent and one of my favourites. The sausage of the day was one of my go-to items however I believe this is discontinued. Regardless, many great options! definitely worth checking out.

Friendly counter person, but it went down from there. Part of our order was lost, (it happens), the fried chicken, which was modest in portion came as if it was baked, the fries were lackluster, and slaw needed a kick. BUT the beef looked good, and the deck is nice on a sunny day.

I was having really high expectations given the reviews. Service was very good but the selection is very limited and prices are sky high. I was having the feeling I just entered Whole Foods compared the selection and prices. However, Whole Foods is not a specialized butcher shop. Rib steaks had nearly no marbling and the price was 6 to 7+ dollars for 100 grams.

Finally had a chance to try this place on Friday.. I love this concept and execution was excellent..no frills with high quality meats. Straight forward menu and one choice of steak.. I ordered it medium rare and it came out perfect.. 6 oz..is a little light but you can fill it out with excellent appetizers They had one of my favorite beers on tap.. Bridge BBO.. Amazing. Knew from the second I walked inside that I would love this place and it exceeded expectations. Incredibly diverse menu that had burgers, sandwiches and even ramen. Appies such as a sausage or charcuterie board are also available. We were lucky enough to come during happy hour (3-6pm on weekdays) to get $2 off shareables and beer. Ramen was one of the best I've ever had, extremely flavourful. Charcuterie was simply yet complex. Super friendly staff. Extremely inviting and bright interior.

I received mine right away, my friends been waiting half an hour. The burger was basic, the sauces bland and flavourless. For the price, should have come with fries. Maybe a better place to buy meat than to sit down and eat.

We were in the area today and decided to stop by and maybe pickup a few items on the way home. The store was not too busy maybe 3-4 people in line and we waited about 10 minutes. When it came to order the guy behind the counter was quite rude and condescending. We were quite taken aback with his attitude and only picked up an item and left. We were quite surprised. It wasn't too busy but apparently he had better things to do than talk to customers about your products. This was our first time here and I don't think we will be coming back anytime soon to be treated that way. I noticed you had other poor customer experience reviews in the past. I don't want anything to be "setup" (like a previous reviewer) but I do think you should talk to your employees about their attitudes.

We also got the sausage sampler, baked beans and topped it off with the tallow chocolate chip cookies!! The atmosphere here is amazing: the clean meat coolers, the clear meat hanger display, the long wooden high tables with stools, the counter area overlooking at the chefs, the relaxing outdoor seating area, and the pork bone number stand. I've been here several times already, and I am impressed every time. If you haven't already, try the foot long hot dog. It sounds mundane, but it was the tastiest hog dog I've ever had.

I like the choices of quality meat that they offer here. The only reason why I'm giving only 2 stars because the staff needs to learn proper hand hygiene and cross contamination. The man that just helped us use the same gloves for the raw steak and pork and while he was helping us with the raw steak, AND he touched his nose with the same gloves that he used to touch the raw meat. That is really disgusting.

Great place to grab a bite and drink beer. They have tasty salt and pepper popcorn for free. Great for grabbing and pitcher and snacking on the popcorn. Had the feature steak which was pretty good. I would have preferred it without the chimichurri sauce. The sausage platter was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Very busy place during dining hours so make sure to come early if you want to snag a seat. Steak feature was well cooked and delicious. The ramen bowl was an interesting take as it features crispy pork bits and cabbage. Broth felt on the lighter side and I suspect that it might be from the water the noodles was cooked in (not shaked dry). I also had clumped bits of noodles in the bowl. I felt the meat pie was on the drier side but my wife liked it. Sides: We grabbed the Simple greens and Tallow fries. The fries were well seasoned but I felt that for $5 the salad was really small. I will be back to give the burgers and the rest of the mains a try but I will most likely be skipping the sides.

I was very impressed with the menu and the quality. My kids both had the steak and are very particular on how to cook it (medium rare, Chicago style). The steaks were cooked to perfection. My husband and I had the sausage platter (would have been nice to know which one was which, but they were all delicious), a burger (perfect!), and dirty fries. Will be back when we are in the area.

Visited this place after a nice hike on Cypress. Really loved what they have done with a butcher shop great ambiance and food options. Oddly our favorite item when we visited was the free popcorn they were handing out. Their Bone Soup was pretty good but our main item, the sausage platter, was quite average. Very nicely presented though. Will definitely go back to try other items.

My wife and I went there today to purchase our aged prime ribs for Christmas they will prepare it and we pick it up a day or so before the big meal. The service was extremely good. Also bought sausages and other foods. They have fantastic meat pies at $8.00 each and the largest sausage rolls you will ever see $4.00 each. I could keep on going but you have to go there your self to understand the quality and variety. The only downside was they don't have the resturant operational due to Covid and I was looking forward to fresh fish and chips. Maybe in the new year it will open, hopefully.

Coming from Richmond, I was hoping it would be worth the drive. For me, it's not. Food is overall good, but not great. I was hoping for a real nice dry aged beef flavour in my burger but it didn't really come through at all. The pickles had a unique flavour though and, in my opinion, overpower the burger. Compared to my favorite dry aged beef burger right now from Multnomah Whiskey Library in Portland, this simply cannot compare. Yes, the US burger would cost about CAD$23 with today's exchange. On the other hand, I also bought some dry aged steak to try at home. Result, not bad at all. Perhaps I'll be better off with a custom order of dry aged beef.

It can get a bit busy but if you can get a place to sit down its well worth it. The burger is the best. I've been hearing about this place for awhile now, finally had the opportunity to try it and I can Glady say it loved up to the hype. The burger is fantastic, the rotisserie chicken is juicy and well seasoned, everything is just made well using high quality ingredients. I went here for an entire grilled goat and a jug of mead. The person behind the counter told me that was too much cholesterol for one person in one serving and the medieval times are regrettably over. I settled for a tower of chicken burgers sandwiched between two pigs heads. It was delectable. Unfortunately it gave me a stroke and an ambulance had to take me to hospital. The hospital care was excellent. For this I give them 5 stars.

Stopped in here after the suspension bridge. I'm a big french dip fan, so I tried the chicken dip, since I had never had one. Yummy. Just so yummy. I thought the mayo on there would be weird in the broth but it just added to the moistness of the sandwich. Would drive from Seattle for again. :)

I’m thrilled to have Two Rivers Meats on the NShore, as it gives me more options for meat - I was getting a little tired of the guys at the mall. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and lots of variety, whether you are looking for dry aged, wet aged, etc. Looking for meat from Cache Creek or Tappen? No problem! Grab a piece of beef jerkey or bison bites for the road. I’ll definitely be buying more meat from here, thanks Two Rivers!

I would suggest the hot dogs for kids, and for adults the meat and cheese plate was great, and the cheese burger was very yummy. When i heard there is a place in north van that has 65 day aged burger naturally i was extremely excited to go and visit. I have to say this place lives up to the expectations. The moment I walked in my day instantly became better. You walk in and greeted by a massive dry age freezer packed with high quality meat and when you order your food you realize there is a proper charcoal grill fired up in the back where the food is being made. The in house aged sausages and meat is great, every item we ordered off the menu was excellent and the beer selection is great. Highly recommend it.

What a refreshing surprise hidden behind the Capilano Mall, where there is the usual, dreary mystery meat food court and the related unhealthy fast food chains. In a dramatic contrast, Two Rivers offers locally sourced, top quality meat and poultry where animals are ethically raised without chemical feed additives, antibiotics, and hormones, at comparable, reasonable prices. This is a combination restaurant and butcher shop in a very cool, clean, inviting space. A small, sweet vase of fresh flowers sits on each table. I had the tri-tip steak, cooked to go. It was outstanding. Flavourful and absolutely delicious.

Good casual food inside a butcher meat store. Beef tartare is delicious with the charred grilled toast. Tallow fries are crisp and double fried. Burger was a little greasy for me, definitely add the bacon for extra flavourful though. Crispy chicken drumsticks have a little kick to it, pretty taste.

I've been to Two Rivers on a friday evening at around 8PM and it was easy to find a table for five. There's plenty of free parking right for customers too. As soon as you walk in it becomes clear that people are serious about meat here. You'll find a butchery inside, with glass walls that let you take a peak inside at these beautiful pieces of meat hanging and dry-aging. Aside from the actual menu, you can also bih meat and ask them to prepare it for you, or just buy it per pound and bring it home with you. I ordered a Knuckle Sandwhich, and my wife ordered the dry age burger with bacon. Both picks were excellent, fairly well priced at around $13, and with a good individual size. Me and my wife will come back again, no doubt about it. Hands down the best sandwhich we've had in Greater vancouver area.

Come on Saturday for the Carnaboard platter, you will not be disappointed (its easily feeds three or four people). Perhaps the best burger in Vancouver. First off my review is on the restaurant side. I asked the person at the counter her recommendation. She said the burger is the best thing on the menu. I added a side arugala salad because I didn't feel like eating fries cooked in tallow (rendered beef fat). When my meal came the burger looked great, the salad looked meh. $5 for 3 bits of arugala. The taste of burger was nothing special which was a disappointment since the meat is coming from a butcher. I rate it 3.5 out of 10. The rest of our party said the same thing. In my opinion fresh ground cooked medium would be a better choice than dry aged.

A North shore secret, which is amazing except if you are a vegetarian. I hate to recommend certain food since the menu is constantly evolving BUT I love the dirty fries. If you go between 3 and 6 they have happy hour discount off sharable food and on tap beer. Another plus to this place is they do not allow pets inside or on the deck. I think the prices are very reasonable. The negatives to this place are the location ( industrial park) and that the menu changes a lot.

Don't get me wrong, the burgers and slaw were great. The food is not the problem with this place as the other reviews demonstrate. My rating is based on our experience, which showed the abysmal attitudes of the staff and a very poor level of service. We had heard this place had some of the best burgers in the region and visited with our friends (party of 4). We lined up and ordered first, then our friends. After the expected wait, our friends got their burger and appy. We waited expecting ours to follow, however a large table of 8 that ordered well after we had, got their order first. I asked a female server about our order and she ignored me. When my boyfriend asked, a different male bearded server with glasses replied and said, "Yep it's coming- Ramen and chicken". The table next to us spoke up and said "No that's us" and I said "no, we both ordered burgers like my friend here who was behind us in line". The server stared a second like we were from a zoo. He then came back a few minutes later with the ramen and whatever for the other table. We waited 10 more minutes for our order. No apologies or explanation given when it came. I was pretty upset by how unnecessarily surly everyone was. So I took my receipt to the front and asked for my tip back. I do have to mention the one older woman clearing and serving who was great, but everyone else staff wise was disinterested and cold. I know it's busy, I've worked in the service industry too, but that's no excuse for rudeness. If our order was forgotten admit it and apologize. No eye rolling or snark. At any rate, next time I want to drop more than $50 on lunch I will be taking my business elsewhere.

A butcher with a restaurant. So it only figures they should have good meat. They do. It's casual but the food choices are of a expensive chop House. I had the boss burger. Highly recommend it. It was worthy of the price and makes this place worth a trip.

Talk about going downhill. Walked in on Aug. 11, 2020. Was greeted with a big smile, which was nice, but that was the end of pleasantries. Asked simple questions about ribs I was looking for. Kids knew nothing. They didn't try to get someone else to help. They were absolutely apathetic about my disappointment. Described that I was looking for ribs from the chuck end, they didn't seem to know what that meant. (I'm at a high cost butcher because I expect the staff to know about meat) They just pointed at the two sets of ribs in the display case. I said, "oh, how many ribs are on each of those?" The comprehensive answer from the helpful staff..."I don't know." He didn't pull them out or check them for me, nothing. What the hell? This is Two Rivers, which used to mean something. Now it's just another overpriced shop where they depend on blind loyalty from their customers. So sad.

I ordered the Chicken Dip. I can't explain it with descriptive words. It felt like that feeling you get when you try In-N-Out Burger or Shake Shack in California for the first time ever, and you are shocked that something on a bun can taste so good, yet be so simple. It was that feeling but for a Chicken Sandwich. Was blown away. Very reasonably priced for something that good. Excited to try their other items in the future.

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago because I wanted to pay a little more for really nice meat. We usually shop at Costco or IGA. We ordered lamb chops and lamb skewers. The skewers were so chewy I could barely eat them and they cost $8 each. The chops were okay but no better than Costco's. I emailed the butchery because I was surprised by the quality considering the price and they get such good reviews. I was shocked that I got no response. I will not be returning.

Great butcher shop plus great place to get a bite. Had the Boss Burger this visit - good meat-to-bun ratio, tasty, well seasoned and balanced flavor overall. Definitely worth a visit to the North Shore.

Heard about Two Rivers Meats and decided to make a visit. Not disappointed. Meat selection was outstanding. Decide to stay for lunch. Fantastic. Ordered the whole chicken with a side fries. Juicy, tender, delicious. Both had plenty to eat and enough to take half home. Staff are very couteious and helpful. Place is neat and well decorated. Reasonably priced but you expect to pay for quality. Lunch time is popular and busy but definately worth a visit.

Super helpful folks. I needed a bunch of pork belly, pork jowls, and grinding pork to make pancetta, guanciale, kielbasa, English bangers, chorizo, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and Weisswurst and the guys organized all the meats I needed. Excellent place.

Somehow my review was set on one star? What the heck was that.. should be 5 STARS! lol that was an accident.. Two Rivers is great!! They have an awesome selection of meats and super friendly staff too. Always stop here when i'm on the north shore.. thanks :)
