Here you have all the feddbacks of people who use the services and products of Thrifty Foods (Butcher Shop) in Banff (Canada).
At the moment the business gets a score of 4.1 stars out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings that it reaches is really high, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we may say that the rating is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they are pleased, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to set tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Butcher Shop is classified in the category of Grocery store.
It's awesome to have a grocery store open 24/7, especially as a student whose schedule is all over the place. I can leave my grocery shopping for last minute and not be worried.
Great staff, great service.. well done thriftys
.. I like Thrifty food and the meat is a good quality . glad there a store up the street from my place .
Good quality items and produce, only issue is prices are a little high.
Best thriftys ever...10 stars.
Always great meat, but their Bakery and pre made dishes are just.....not great. Plus it's more expensive then save on foods
This locally started owns food store has always had a reputation of good service and quality merchandise. Now owned by a Canada wide conglomerate that includes other food stores in the rest of Canada.
Clean. Friendly staff. Can usually find everything I need. Parking is ample and free.
fairfield and quadra branch has more choices and more organize.
Great produce and fish, clean store and helpful staff. Worth the slightly higher prices
A great grocery store with very friendly and helpful staff, it is not as good as it used to be before they got bought out and are now going for cheaper options. They have great produce, the main reason I go here is for that reason alone. Not the cheapest grocery store every but if you watch what you buy you can get out okay. Everything is fresh and well stocked, very clean and well organized. Open decently late, miss the 24hours.
Nice clean store, friendly staff, produce is usually fresh and high quality.
This store is awesome. The staff here are super friendly and they are always willing to lend a helping hand.
Really nice place to shop. Great products
Although the prices are average. What Thrifty's is known for are their great deals. For example, if they have a deal where a product is buy 3 for 3 dollars. When you buy 1 of them, the price is discounted
The staff is really helpful and friendly , and they have a great selection of organic foods.
Our main go-to grocery store. The produce is much fresher than some of the other nearby stores, so the slightly higher price is worth it. The staff are helpful and kind - makes for a nice shopping experience!
Always a great place to shop
Thrifty's a great chain. Tuscany Village is a white knuckle parking experience.
Convenient. Good selection of stuff.
????
Very nice place for grocery shopping. Very friendly staff.
Horrible service. Recommend that they send a prominent female member of their cashiering staff off to do some extensive customer service training. Worst experience I have had in a grocery store. It was so bad, I sent an email to the Store Manager and never heard back. Guess they don't need my business. I go out of my way to avoid this place.
Nice selection. More expensive, but you get what you pay for. Also, fresh seafood!!
The vegetables are so clean and vibrant. The advantages of scale.
I find this store very friendly and helpful. It is clean. They have a very good selection of fresh vegetables and fruit. My favourite place to purchase them. Love the fact that they make pizza's there. Give your order and 15 min later you can pick it up.
Staff is so helpful!!!????. Today I was just going to quickly get some things I needed but once I was holding some of the items I realized I'd need a cart. The person at customer service was so nice and went to the entrance and got a cart for me! Thank you so much!
Was open late and found what I needed. Would hv been better if they had some hot foods available for those needing a quick warm dinner.
Nice layout. Staff is great. Shop the sales
I like the Tuscany village location, great upscale grocery experience!
Great selection. Regular prices are at the high end for most regular grocery chains, but have good sales sometimes with dollar days and bogo. Depending on the store, you may run into issues with stock, particularly onsale items. Always willing to do rainchecks though. Probably has the most consistently attractive and nice staff.
Great store! Staff are really nice. Very clean. The only down fall to this location is the parking lot.
A little on the expensive side. But a slightly higher quality and more varied selection than most.
High quality food store with a wide selection of quality foods. Always clean, tidy, fresh.
Great selection and friendly staff.
The Italian theme is cool.
Great service, very aware of safety protocols too. Went at 2pm and wasn't crowded at all.
Everything is great, but chicken always not fresh.
Good selection and reasonable prices. They also use local produce
I shop here often due to convenience (proximity to my home), but I am really starting to question whether it is worth it. The pros: A good amount of their produce is great, and they have good quality butcher/seafood area. The cons: Their mouse and/or rat problem is getting out of hand. I have started inspecting the bags of bread products that I buy and quite often find small holes in them that have clearly been chewed through by either mice or rats. I went to buy some bagels today and and every single bag had holes in them and pieces of the bagels eaten. Given that this has been going on for months, I really question the sanitariness of the rest of the food in the store.
Yes sold me one bun with my chili
I bought a Greek salad and went thru a till and the cashier coughed into her hand and then slammed the same hand on my food, not once but TWICE. Grossed me out
The best grocery store all around on Vancouver Island. Although the price reflects the customer service. But you get what you pay for.
It's really no different from any other grocery store. The location is quite convenient and you can get most things you want there.
I Love shopping at Thrifty's my only complaint is parking. The parking lots at Fairfield, Tuscany Village and Saanich Plaza can n be busy and tight to get in and out of.
Great deli here ????
they have no clue where things are, spent the afternoon looking for a pizza sauce
Well laid out store, staff is always friendly and easy in & out.
Very food, very thrifty.
Over priced. While quality and service is good for the most part, I only shop at thrifty foods if I can't get a certain product someplace else.
The staff need more training on social distancing. I had multiple members of the staff walk far too close to me and other customers. Also, the store layout needs work, the arrows that tell you what direction you should go down the isles need to be bigger or there should be staff directing people where to go - it was pretty chaotic. Plus the one security guard was standing in a spot on the sidewalk that gave people two options: walk too close to him, or walk on the road (like I did) to keep a safe distance.
Thrifty's has some of the best fish in town but their prices can be pretty high.
There was a BIG mouse that ran across the floor while waiting in line at the cashier today ( 4 Jan 21). I alerted the cashier and she immediately jumped and was a bit scared for a few minutes until we told her it probably ran further away. She was still frightened so we waited until she calmed down... but it was unfortunately a LONG wait before she started scanning my first item since she also had to chase down the previous cashier to sign out of the computer. She did not alert the supervisor that there was a MOUSE IN A GROCERY STORE, at least not while we were there. This is a big health violation and should be taken seriously, and I hope it did and that management was informed. I will not be shopping at this location anymore.
Good low to medium priced grocery store. They have very good deals in the weekly flyers.
Nice store just a bit pricey.
It's good ! Produce a bit expensive, but great for weekly deals and often 2 for 1 on good items
Great place to shop
Love the 24hr operating hours so convenient for my schedule.
Good quality foods and great customer service
The fresh fruit whipped cream cake is the best. ONLY this location can make the cake right - soft, moist, and tasty.
The rats are gnawing on the bread sick
More freshness and better selection of food, at the flip side, higher prices.
So much nicer to deal with than the Thrifty's at Hillside Mall. Staff has better attitude, cleaner, better layout. Too bad Sobey's ownership has turned this into just another grocery store unlike the previous locally owned version. SIgh. 3 stars only as to prices otherwise would be 4
The parking situation at Tuscany Village makes any of the other grocery stores across the street much more appealing. Walk, don't drive here.
Great customer service.
It's great that you stock vegan products,A+! I just have one concern about where the vegan products are placed. Why are they inbetween the meat? Thank you.
10/10 love Thrifty’s!
The Thrifty Foods grocery stores brand strives to serve the community in various ways. A couple of years ago, Thrifty Foods invited shoppers to participate in a survey that was designed to determine the desires, needs, and priorities of the community in relation to the services, discounting and reward programs, and products that Thrifty Foods offers. They proved to be responsive to the feedback they received. Thrifty Foods offers a good selection of produce, frozen foods, bakery, and dry goods. There is nothing too unique about their food choices. The produce tends to be of good quality. I personally, don't care for their bakery products. Their bakery products are high in sugar, and low in quality, as compared to the high quality baked goods one can access from some local bakeries. If you enjoy grocery store-style baked goods, then I would say that Thrifty Foods offers a very good selection. Some Thrifty Foods Stores are open 24 hours/day and the Victoria store at Quadra and Cloverdale has a pharmacy. Thrifty Foods liquor stores have recently been opening in various locations. Thriftys offers deliveries and online shopping. The Thrifty Foods rewards program allows customers to collect air miles reward miles. The stores are very clean and staff are helpful and friendly.
I like this Thrifty Foods but it has a super tight parking lot and the store has a really strange layout. The lines here aren't bad because there are lot of other grocery store options in very close proximity. The layout of the store makes it so that there is a bottleneck of shopper traffic at the milk/ yogurt area and where the bakery turns into the health supplements area. Other than that good grocery store.
Thriftys at Tuscany village is an appealing little store that has lots of prepared foods for those looking for quick meals. These prepared foods give it a pleasant aroma. It is situated in an interesting outdoor mall area. The prices at Thriftys are almost always higher than other grocery stores.
Excellent customer service. Fruit and vegetables are almost always very good quality. Their meats are good too and you can often find many of them discounted. I love their in store made salmon patties available at the fish counter from spring until fall. Their sausages are very good too.
Ripoff! Prices on many items are near double that of other grocery stores. Go across the street and shop at saveonfoods. This was my first trip and definitely my last.
The underground parking is pretty handy here, especially in the rain. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Solid thriftys with a decent selection of food products.
Another awesome Thriftys. They all seem to be great shops if you need groceries
Clean, organized store. Good selection. Friendly staff.
The ground round is terrible, more fat than meat. Postscript; The manager called to apologise and even made good on the lousy meat I couldn't eat. I'm raising the 1 star to 4.
Tuscan village store beautiful place to shop
Very clean with good parking though prices are a little higher than the competition
Good place for groceries. Sometimes stock rotation is a problem, I have had things go bad that shouldn't.
I love this Thriftyfoods- its clean and every isle is well stocked neatly. The bakery is amazing!!!!
Really good bread and helpfull staff
Best grocery store in Victoria ❤️????
Convenient location. Good meat options. Usually fast service.
They lost my order for entertainment trays, thank goodness I called 2 days before the event to amend my order and caught there mistake. Then when I arrived at the store to pick the trays up on the morning of the event, the trays weren't ready. They tried to get us to pay for the trays for a second time because someone forgot to mark the trays as "paid for." Then I had to go on a wild goose chase to get my receipts.
11:30 am Tuesday, not very busy, found everything but orange Zevia. Cashier very helpful with Airmiles question.
Great service and great price on my turkey
Love the store but i tryed to order food for delivery and your store didn't show up and for some strange reasons you don't deliver on Saturdays or Sundays I found this frustrating other then that I enjoy giving you my business thanks
Smaller than other stores in the chain but includes essentials and some items not found at other stores in the same chain. Some in store bargains to be had.
Took the family out for dinner. The service was lacking with no follow up check after our meal was delivered, no asking us if we wanted drink refills (another beer would have been nice), and no request for a desert order, so we bought desert at Thrifty Foods instead. The food was mediocre. The gravy on the poutine was runny and made the fries soggy, and the kids grilled cheese sandwich was made with a bland processed cheese.
Great quality food and really nice staff. I love the one by my house. Thank you for your nice clean store and bathrooms:)
This Thrifty's has great customer service and food quality, but some items like orange juice are a bit more expensive than other stores. Big plus: they will let you return your bottles while you check out at the cashier (are you listening Save-On-Foods and Walmart?). Very nice and big store.
I am from the mainland and typically enjoy my visits to thrifty foods when i come over but this was an exception. The produce and bread selection was poor. They were out of red onions and I couldn't find a nice loaf of bread for French toast. The cashiers line took over 10 minutes as there were 2 tills and 6 plus people in each line.
Excellent quality, friendly staff and good charity program
Find this location isn't as good as their other stores. Have gotten stale bakery items a few times and find better meat selection at other Thrifty stores.
Lots of good options for groceries and fresh. Not the best price ever but convenient since they open late.
Great variety. Love all the local and fresh food. Pricey.
I’m a huge fan of Thrifty Foods quality, but this experience will have me never returning to this location. I was given attitude at the meat counter, lottery counter and at the express check out. In fact, it was this sullen clerk who left the worst taste in my mouth. I was given a steady dose of audible sighs at the request to purchase a reusable bag and hand me my items so I could pack my own bag because she was making no effort to do it. To top it off she dropped my cupcakes smearing the icing all over the dome. Now, I know I could have spoken to a manager while I was there, but have you ever just wanted to get out of an annoying situation? That’s where I was.
It's a grocery store. Always has ripe bananas. Good seafood department.
I like the atmosphere. Staff is all really friendly!
Good grocery store, average prices, good value.
Fantastic! Lovely local grocery store with wonderful staff and impeccably clean.
Decent sales usually. Produce selection is usually lacking but the baked goods and deli are superb.
Excellent vegetables, meat department, dairy and everything in between. Pleasant and helpful staff.
The layout is somewhat different than most Thrifty Foods stores. But they have everything you may need.
Fresh produce, excellent meat selection, extensive deli, and lots of variety in the bakery:)
Thrifty's combines a nice shopping experience with decent prices. As a student, it provides both ingredients to make meals at home as well as pre-made meals including salads, pasta dishes, soups etc. for when you're busy schedule doesn't leave you time to make dinner
Good quality products good service
Great pre-made snacks
Good quality, but one of the pricier grocery stores in town. The products and selection are very good here. Their produce in particular is quite fine. If you are going to shop here, I would suggest using the online ordering and delivery, as their parking lot is notoriously terrible.
Love the store but hate the upper parking. Remember there is a lower section of parking which is never full. Store itself is always clean and staff are friendly. I will always buy my Christmas Turkey here as they have a great sale which makes them affordable.Prices are rather high so we don't always shop here.
Glad there is a public washroom available????
Great staff
I ordered boutonnieres and corsages from the flower department. Cindy is the best, they are definitely beautiful and elegant. She is so easy to work with, I will be back for sure.
One of the few 24 hour grocery stores. They have a great layout and a great deli section. Great service, helpful staff, great selection of product.
It's thrifty foods. It's fine ????
My favorite place to shop for groceries in Victoria. Store is always clean, bright, and well stocked. Has a good choice of specialty food and a deli with deli meat, soups meat pies, and sushi. Pricing is competitive and they offer Air Miles.
Picked up a sushi special , then spotted an on sale pork loin then Portuguese buns for pulled pork base . Friendly staff, clean store and safe pkg lot (on an icy day) was really appreciated...
Don’t advertise that you’re open until 10pm if you shut your doors at 9.50pm. Lazy & poor management.
I wish we had a Thrifty Foods in the Okanagan. They are well-designed and aesthetically pleasing stores. They have pretty much everything you could want. Friendly staff. A little insane over Christmas but still a place worth going
Best local produce and meats / fish. Perfect size for the area.
Generally have good service here, usually have flowers delivered to my fiancées work at Uvic. I've never had trouble until today. Walked in at 5:30pm to select flowers, pay and arrange for delivery. Was told the flower dept was closed so she could take my info and get the flower dept to call me tomorrow to see if they had time for a delivery. Not the kind of customer service Im used to at Thrifty's.
Fantastic staff,great meat very clean
Customer service is not good. Wanted to buy some cases of something I easily get at other locations. Shouldn't find it. No one at their customer service desk. Got a cashier to page someone to the section I was in and no one came.
Clean, well lit. Produce is top notch. The store and staff are professional looking and promote trust for the shopper. I prefer thriftys over other grocery stores.
Thrifty Foods was a decent company when Alex Campbell was still alive. Since the melding of Thrifty's into the Sobeys corporation, the quality of products has decreased while the the frequency of employee turnover increases. Thrifty's once participated in tons of fundraising for local sports teams, nonprofit organizations, and people in need. Now they only seem to fundraise when their PR needs a facelift. There are some very hard working employees with Thrifty's who do a great job, but the company as a whole has deteriated over time..
Good people well organized couldn't find strawberry shortcake ???????????? but other than that all good
I love Thrifty's. They might be a bit pricey but their quality is great!
I quite like this little grocery store. They admit they have a smaller variety than other locations but the service from all staff is exceptional!
Way too expensive and not locally owned it used to be great but not anymore I didn't used to mind paying extra but I knew I was supporting local most of their bakery stuff comes in Frozen they just stick it out to thaw years ago they used to do everything in house
I am impressed by the customer service they have. Thank you.
Great variety
They had impossible ground! Pretty excited
Friendly staff great service and clean
So many nice products! And some live crab...
The best ...packed to the rafters with good food! ????
The staff is friendly and helpful, the prices are slightly higher than competitors, but the food is generally quite fresh. It consistently has the best produce, although is lacking in some selection.
The same as usual, a price though. And this place is packed with students late afternoon and evening, so choose your time wisely
It’s a great store, good prices for veggies and other things. But I was wondering if you sell monthly bus passes
Always great food although more pricey
It has everything I need and It is close to my home. It is a nice store and the staff are friendly.
This is one of the smaller Thriftys. Good produce. Healthy options.
Always 5* as the customer service is great and the selection of Plant Based meats is on point! Including The Very Good Butchers made locally here on the island!
great roasted chicken in Victoria supermarkets! normally more expensive than other stores coz they pick bc first, though weird that local food is more expensive, it's fresh but few taxes have to be paid for imported food... quite confused!
Friendly staff. Clean store. Underground parking lot is under used! People try to cram in on the top lot by the shops, but if they just go underground, hang a right and another right, the entrance and exit doors are right there and you just take a little escalator up to the store - great for rainy days! Fresh fruits, veggies and meat, all clean and organized. Their health and wellness area seems lighter compared to Broadmead store; same regarding bulk section, much better at Broadmead. But, I like this store because it's not overwhelming. Deli gets a little busy with their own tasks and ignores or just don't register that you're there, but they are always really nice when they do help.
It's good, helpful staff and a good varied supply.
Amazing customer service and fresh produce!!
Very helpful staff along with a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies, a really fresh good fish and seafood selection and everything else you would expect at a grocery store
Don't take this rating as anything negative. Thrifty Foods and all of their employees do a bang up job and I have nothing ill to say about the prices or even the decor. I happen to find every location to be very inviting and comfortable. It just happens that the closest location is a 2 bus ride and once again, that's nothing negative about the store
I loved to shop at Thrifty store tuscany .clean and good merchandise I love the cashier nsme Kristen, and Claudia, and 1 asian guys forget his name.those guys are so friendly as always.
Cashier Satra claimed the til was "breaking down" and then went on to ring another customer through. So one thing must be true, Thrifties technology is faulty or she lied.
Produce and meat is always high quality and fresh, although it is also a little more expensive than the other supermarkets. At least the check-outs are quicker than many of the others.
Great customer service and easy to find what your looking for
Nice place to shop, has good deals sometimes.
Awesome Thrifty Foods location that has everything you'd expect and more, open at convenient hours too.
My favourite Thrifty's location on the island! They carry the best meat selection and their produce is always great.
I do appreciate the way it's set up like a Tuscan market, but with all the things I have come to count on from Thrifty's. Thrifty foods is consistent all over and I get as much as I can on sale.
Great selection of wines, including organic wines and very knowledgeable staff.
Staff is great but like it's really not that thrifty....
Great store can find most everything you want. A little pricy for a grocery store but not as expensive as a specialty store.
Always well stocked, with a variety of new products, meal suggestions and knowledgeable, helpful staff.
Nice but a little small. Not a great meat counter.
expensive, but very nice. not my have market, but everything is very high quality and they have great hours
Nice little grocery store. Good selection, good staff, good stuff ????
Really easy to find what you're looking for. I enjoy the selection of healthier/organic foods compared to other larger chain stores.
Good produce..good prices..pleasant service.
It wasn't Safeway, Sobeys, or Save on Foods, yet somehow still similar? Basically they haven't reinvented the grocery store yet so its what you would expect (:
They've redone the store with a great homey vibe and feels much less stark and much more like home.
Some products seem like they may be better quality, but you really pay for it.
