Food was Keg level standard! My steak was cooked to the proper level. The waitress was very good, attended to every need. Warm atmosphere, and we were seated quickly! Calamari was perfect not under or over cooked. They have an alcohol free beer option which is nice :)

We had a great experience at this keg with our family of four. They were accommodating and understanding of our children and service was kind and prompt. The food was the usual Keg standard. We enjoyed a few apples, steak entrees, and a creme brulee dessert. I was happy to see that they offered "real" coffee options too (espresso)

Underwhelmed at best. My steak was cooked correctly but poorly seasoned, but I can get over that as it's a personal preference. My wife's salmon had THREE bones in it. When it was brought up to the server she said "oh ok" didn't find it odd she was taking away half full plates and didn't include any kind of discount on the boney salmon. At $40 a plate and more my wife shouldn't be picking bones out. Very unsatisfied with the way this was handled (as in not at all and here's the bill). If you want a nice steakhouse in Banff pick somewhere else. You don't get value for your dollar here.

It was very busy and loud when we visited but the food was delicious and service was good! The decor is also really nice, lots of memories from Banff back in the day. The restaurant is located at the Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa, if you’re staying there you get a resort credit per night that could be used at the restaurant ????

Received lovely service from the staff this past May long weekend. Went to Banff to celebrate my birthday and was delighted to feel the same Keg experience even during COVID. I love how the bread & butter is still part of your order and I really appreciated that my birthday slice of Billy Miner Pie was beautifully dressed with almonds and was able to last unmelted until I reached the hotel. Definitely would recommend this location especially for the very friendly staff and it’s the reason I’ll be ordering more Keg during lockdown :)

The Keg is always a good option on a night out, and being far from home it was nice to see a familiar place. However, they still don't know how to cook a steak well done without it being all charred and dry. "Well done" means "cooked through", not cooked so dry that it's hard to cut and harder to chew. And yes I've had a juicy, tender, well done steak before so I know it is in fact possible to do. Anyway, the service was again decent, however, the waiter wouldn't address my date at all and kept talking to just me. It was very offputting and awkward, and it put a dent in the quality of the service.

For what the price was, the quality is not that great. This restaurant is in an aged hotel and I found the whole place to be pretty dated. It was very quiet in there, it was lunch time on a weekday. Service was alright. Our server was not overly pleasant but fine. I had the chicken sandwich, which is a grilled chicken breast, whole. The bottom was a bit over done so it was difficult to bite through. I normally love this style of chicken sandwich but I just felt like it wasn't done right. There is another Keg down the road which we saw later. Might be worth it to try the other one....

For a restaurant of this caliber I expected the kitchen knows the difference between the various 'rare' stages of steaks. Unfortunately, it doesn't. My rare order came as medium done. Only one side included. Everything else is extra order. It's a relaxed atmosphere, however without GREAT service - attentiveness to details by the wait staff is missing. Lastly, the Zinfandel is a very odd selection for price listed (or the bottle was sitting open for too long). Things got alright when reordering the Chilean Merlot. Three stars are an overstatement.

I love animals!... especially grilled to perfection abd the stakes The Keg serves falls nothing short of superb. You know, when you see those mouth-watering photos of a juicy tender stake in ads or in the movies? Well, this is exactly what you're gonna get here, and boy it is worth every penny. Their fillet mignon is so tender it hardly has a texture of meat any more, no veins, no fat, pure joy!

The Keg did an amazing job! My daughter has celiac, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Free GF bread, manager helped us specifically, they double checked with us and the kitchen for every item, and our food was delicious! I will definitely eat there again. We have high expectations of restaurants, and they definitely met those expectations! 6 stars, if that were even possible.

Had a great time at The Keg, Banff. My husband booked reservation so we didn’t have to wait. I whispered to our server that it was my brother’s birthday. So at the end they gave him dessert on the house. We ordered three different steaks. Enjoyed very much. The quantity was enough. Our server was wonderful. Fee minutes of walk from our stay.

Sub-par Keg quality... we regret giving it a second try after over a year we thought it got better. We're done with this Keg. Can there be a thorough review? Sirloin had way more fat you'd expect and was chewy. Wish we took a photo. Prime rib was pub quality at best. Note: this was delivery but we still expected better.

If you want a steak and great service.........this is where you go in Banff. Haven't tried Chuck's Steak House.....and I've heard good things.....but the Keg is a guaranteed great service and a phenomenal meal type of restaurant!

My husband and I spent a couple of days in Banff to celebrate his birthday. He is on a very strict diet due to a chronic health condition. Our waitress was awesome! She was very helpful and even the Manager came over to discuss our concerns. Our meal was amazing! Best Sirloin Oscar I have ever had! Cooked to perfection! We enjoyed our meal so much we went back the next night which was actually my husband's birthday. We ordered cheesecake for dessert but asked for it to be boxed as we were quite full from our meal. The staff put a little birthday candle in the box for my husband. Nice touch!

Went from the best day to the worst day. My wife surprised me for my birthday on a night away at Banff with reservations here at the keg. The waitress was awful, rude and could care less about us. Ordered a medium rare steak and got steak tartare. Extremely disappointing after a fantastic day. It took 30 minutes for a refired steak which once arrived the manager asked me to cut and watched me eat. Felt very uncomfortable and awkward. Would never recommend, or come back to this location ever again. Worst Keg experience ever. Happy birthday to me. If there was an option for negative five stars I would give it.. ...

Enjoyed the Keg Burger with a Cesar Salad. Reasonably priced for a restaurant burger, and very tasty. They had run out of all fish dishes and were waiting for a delivery on some of their food, so other people in my group had to chose different menu items.

No matter which Keg you visit, the service, food quality, and atmosphere are consistent. Although this is a chain restaurant, it doesn't seem like it and I have never been disappointed. The Keg in the Banff Caribou Lodge is one of my favourite locations though. The interior design pairs well with it's mountain town location and is super cozy with a nice cabin vibe. The meal was, as always, delicious, and I know I'll continue to visit this location for many years to come! Thanks to Will this time around for being an amazing server!

Came here for my 22nd birthday. Meant to go to the downtown location but I’m glad we stayed. The manager was very sweet and made me feel special on my day. We got seated right next to the window which was a nice view. The restaurant was super clean. Great service: our server was constantly checking on us. Food was AMAZING and everything was cooked perfectly. Since it was my birthday our server brought me out their Billy Miner pie; it was one of the best desserts I have ever had. I had a FANTASTIC experience at this location!

Top sirloin was under seasoned, quite chewy, and kinda lacked flavor. Maybe it was because I got it medium? The salad was drenched in dressing too... It literally looked like soup with lettuce and chopped tomatoes floating in it. The garlic mashed potatoes were luke warm, but tasted pretty good. I actually love chilled mashed potatoes... Just not with steak. The cheesecake sauce looked clumpy, something you'd see at a local diner. Dont get me wrong, it was actually pretty good, and they gave me a generous serving. But at a place like the Keg, I was hoping for some Instagram worthy plating. Service was fantastic, so I didn't want to complain and put a damper on their positive vibe. Since this happened when the restaurant hadn't started the dinner rush and was fairly empty, perhaps they weren't in the flow of things yet...? I can't definitively say whether I would try it again or not. Total cost was $115 for two people sharing dessert.

Last year when me and my family wanted to dine at the Keg we were informed no strollers aloud. At that stage i had a 9day old baby that needed the stroller to be comfortable. I left and came back this year knowing id have to leave the stroller outside which was okay since my child is bigger. This time they amde it seem like it was alot of trouble to get us a table in a half empty restaurant. Then wanted me to place out diaper bag packpack somewhere in a corner out of the way. After that i was already ticked off since that diaper bag has his toys, snacks ect and i use it every 10mins. Ordered apps. My mothers tomato coctail wasnt a coctail it was 4 prawns in a glass without any sauce. I ordered a hamburger that was so burnt i could eat it. The manager tried to tell me it was flame grilled and in order to get it cooked its bound to happen. Which is bs since it could have been medium and im not about to eat something i dont like. They took it off the bill but i left hungry. Over priced and the waiters make you feel so unwelcome. Youll never see us again.

I always go with the stuffed mushrooms and Caesar salad to start. We added the crispy cauliflower, which was really good. Steaks for mains were great as well. If you like horseradish, try theirs cause it is smoking hot and good???????? Finished with mini creme brulee and mini brownie Sunday.

Enjoyed a fantastic breakfast buffet. The food selection for the hot buffet was excellent. The staff were friendly and provided great service. The price for the buffet was reasonable and fair for the selection provided. I would recommend this buffet as a good "middle" option for people who want more than a McDonald's/Tim Horton's breakfast, but don't want to break the bank going to a high end breakfast/brunch in Banff.

The food was great, my steak came back quite a bit overcooked and they noticed and brought a new one, and gave us a discount, which wasn’t necessary but really showed how much the manager wanted to ensure we had a good time. Went in afternoon, maybe 6 other individuals in restaurant portion, so thought perfect time for typically great Keg service. Service had to be good, as bar service had Paralyzers curdled and the Spanish Coffee rimmed with salt, and NOT sugar. Calamari was under cooked, tasteless and rubber textured. When everything brought forward as occurred, waitress apologetic, but we changed drinks and no attempt made to "appease" us. No discount, no coupon ... she was just sorry. We love Keg, but not Banff venue now.

It's a good place for lunch because it's generally pretty quiet and the food service is fast. In the evening it gets a bit more hectic, but the food quality is good. Their mushroom soup with a Keg burger or the New York cut with a double baked potato are a good choice if you aren't sure what to get. Their deserts are really good as well but the portions are a little bit big for 1 person.

My husband and I booked a room at the Caribou Lodge for three nights as a belated 33 anniversary gift to ourselves. We had no trouble checking into the hotel with the covid questions and advising of husband exemption from 14 day quarantine as a commercial carrier. We attempted to go for dinner at the Keg as it was right downstairs. They asked all the usual covid questions and we were truthful and answered yes to being out of the country in the last 14 days. Immediate denial of service. We directed them to the GOV of AB site stating which industries were exempt from quarantine. Also stating an email from CBSA from federal gov clearing hubby of having to quarantine. Lady disappeared, came back moments later and denied service stating that we are not allowed on the property as we have nor quarantined for 14 days. We asked if we could have it go and take it to our room - the look of shock on her face that we had a room at the hotel was almost priceess. She allowed us to order and have in our room even stating “we will even provide you with real cutlery”. This situation applies to Banff not just the Keg - other restaurants also denied us service - Grizzly House being another. I am guessing that having food to put on the table is a must but those delivering the food to begin with are not worth having in the business. At least look at the exemptions and base your denial of service on those grounds not a flat out no. Our anniversary dinner was served in plastic container delivered in a keepsake brown paper bag with REAL CUTLERY!!

Didn't feel like cooking today, so my and my husband went there for lunch. What a disappointment. Place is dirty. There's a lot of dust everywhere. Tables were sticky. Our waiter couldn't care less. Same as the other waitress who looked like KGB agent who is there to kill us. I know it is hard to find good staff in Banff, but give me a break... Then food. Soups (wild mushroom and roasted corn) were great! My grandma wouldn't do it better. Steak sandwich was pretty good, however steak wasn't well done. My ribs sandwich was totally bland. I felt like I was eating roasted rubber. I didn't wanna be rude...but it was impossible to eat it. We asked to speak with the manager and Dave was the only smiling person there. He said: No worries, we won't charge you for that. It was more than I was expecting. We will be back, but probably at the other location.

Very poor customer service at the caribou location, the host and the hostess made a mistake on our reservation time and they were very rude and could not accomodate us any other way even though they had messed up the reservation time .

This place has poor service. First off the front desk didn't greet us till we excused ourselves and asked for seating then they said to leave the babies stroller behind with them in the front. I said it was okay I will take it to the car as my wife and son can be seated and there was alot of shopping items in the bottom content of the stroller. They said not a problem they are always upfront. We went to be seated where the waitress thought it was okay to put the high chair where the stair ledge was. So it was hazardous. The waiter that served us was rude and clearly wasn't a fan of the kid. He obvious was irritated that he had no where to sit so we kindly asked for our food to go. When we asked if they had cutlery to go he was like nope please pay. When we came back to our stroller. It was not attended and the shopping bags weren't in. Worst restaurant ever. Should have opted out for a different one in Banff as they have many pleasant ones. So basically payed for a 70 dollar meal and lost 358.96 dollars worth northface jackets.

I wish i could rate the service separately because my server was great, chris was nothing but helpful. On the other hand the food was definitely painful to pay for since we felt we were eating 7/11 food. 35 dollars for a cold re heated half rack of ribs and a piece of chicken that was no different than something i could buy at KFC. Also stay away from the calamari, again not worth the 15 dollars. Lastly the top sirloin and vegetables for 30 dollars was definitely the worst item of the evening, overly fat chunk of meat, vegetables were definitely far from anything fresh, definitely frozen vegetables heated in a microwave with some sauce. Very disappointed to have paid as much as i did. I dont recommend this restaurant. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My wife and I ate here for our 10 year anniversary. The service was exceptional. We were treated very kindly. Our meals were fantastic. Overall we were very happy with our experience here. There was some confusion at one point when we had made a reservation and found out there are actually 2 locations in Banff and we couldn't figure out which one we had made our reservation at. It all worked out in the end, but I can see this happening in the future.

I implore you not to waste your money at this location. You will leave empty handed and with empty stomachs. My steak was burnt into a black rocky mass and fries were shriveled. I did not take a bite. Pathetic cooks. We were forced to pay for the meal and left with most of the food untouched. Feeling completely ripped off. This location preys on new tourists because they definitely don't have recurring customers. They simply rely on the Keg name and the tourism in Banff and hence put no effort in their service. I had to go to Mcdonald's right after so I wouldn't go to bed hungry. The double cheeseburger was 10 times better(not burnt) and 10 times cheaper. The trip out west was great but to this date one of our vivid memories is still how atrocious the Keg in Banff was.

I had to send my steak back twice here. They couldn’t seem to get the Chicago medium right. The waitress came back to ask me if it was okay to not cook it the way I wanted because it was busy night and it would be a hassle for the chef. However, the manager did come to apologize and had another steak prepared. I’m not sure I’d return after the experience at the location even though I’m a regular at The Keg.

Omg where do I start! My husband and myself get to banff its my husbands first time here so we want to do a nice dinner. We get dressed up and go to the keg, first thing the place has zero a/c or cool breeze, so your sweating before you sit down. We were neglected for service, waited 25 mins for our drinks, and the bread, thats fine we finally get our drinks & i get 2 sips into my peach bellini & pull a massive thick black hair out of my mouth. It was a PUBIC hair!!!!!! Im not over this horrific experience, and doubt ill ever be. Any hair in a drink or food is SUPER DISGUSTING on every level but a pubic hair!??!!? In a drink like how bad can you get. Needless to say i stormed out of there beyond upset, & rdy to throwup! It ruined our whole night but i will NOT allow it to ruin our trip here. Service here is next level. We'd barely ordered and had a manager come to our table and clairify our order since we had dietary restrictions. Super friendly! When the order arrived it was almost perfect, though my medium rare steal was much closer to to well done. When the kitchen ran into a snag and my replacement steak took a while to come out, we were consistently visited and reassured they were on it by both our server and manager. Not only did they replace the steak, they remade my entire meal, and comp'd it. Never ideal to have a meal made wrong, but the way the staff handled it and how good the food was, we'd come back here in a heartbeat.

Waited close to 5 minutes to order that appetizer and I have to call out loudly because our server passed by our table 2 times prior without checking in on us. Calamari was bland when it arrived. As if it was frozen a long time. Has texture but completely tasteless. The main course and ice cream cake we gotten for my dad’s birthday was good. Would had rated 2/5 compared due to service but the surprise birthday cake boost it to 3/5.

After a long road trip, me and the wife were very hungry. We went to the keg attached to our hotel and were happy to get the last table. The Keg is usually our safe bet restaurant for having a good meal, but this location was terrible. From the time we ordered until we got our meal was an hour and a half, after waiting 1 hour they brought us a salad on the house to tide us over and apologized and said it would be out shortly. Half an hour later we finally get out meals and it was not worth waiting for. The vegetables were all soggy and not edible. My steak was burnt and crunchy in parts. I was offered a new steak but after an hour and a half wait, I was not going to wait longer for a new steak and I was starving at this point so I ate parts of it. We were told a manager would come see us but that didn't happen. We finished our food and waited for the cheque but no waitress or manager came by so we went to the front and asked to pay the bill so we can leave. This experience really left us in a bad mood and is not the way you want to start off our first get away from the kids in years. If your a fan of The Keg stay away from this location and go to a different location.

The following sirloins were not nearly as tender and actually a bit tough. Vegetables were good, although very small portion of fries... Only one waiter gave me spontaneously water and bread, the other waitresses didn't bring either.

The attitude of the waiter is also great, but I think I can't accept this kind of steak for a steak house, so I only gave it three stars. (Original) Lobsters were great, but not the steak. It was over cook for mid-rare. The Keg was a recommendation from a Coworker as a must stop while you’re in Banff. They were 11/10 correct. Came here on our first night in town and were not disappointed. Atmosphere is great and the servers were on point. I would have liked to see a larger tap selection but the food made up for it. Steak was cooked perfectly, potatoes were flavor full and smooth, and the veggies were crisp. No one in the party was disappointed and everyone went home full. With two locations on the main strip we will definitely be coming back.

I had dinner here tonight and was amazed with the service here. Both the hostess and my server were amazing. I wish I got the servers name, all I know is that she is from Ontario and used to be a counselor. She went above and beyond. Not to mention, food was amazing. Got a huge cut of steak that had to be cooked longer because it was just that big. Wine selection is nice, wouldn't suggest the rose glass. The pinot gris however is great! Staying at the caribou lodge until Wednesday and hoping to dine there again before I leave!! Will defs recommend to my friends back in Calgary.

I was really disappointed in a lot of aspects of our Banff visit, the entire city is dependant on tourism and for the most part hospitality across the board wasn't great at a few places including Earls and the Keg... But we're talking about the specifics for the Keg. I went down early before my friend and ordered food/drinks. I got an appy ($18) steak (The seasonal steak $50, not recommended) and drinks (Around $50). A $118 bill total for me only and the steak sucked. It was a bad cut and had a lot of ligaments. I mentioned it to the younger server and all he said was "Ohh sorry man, they can be marbly". I barely ate it and there wasn't any customer follow up with a manager or anything. Usually if a person barely touches the steak the staff would mention it to a manager and someone would come by and ask what the issue was... nope but thanks for your $$$. My friend ordered a chicken ceaser and they forgot about it. I mentioned it to the server after 20 mins and he was like "Uhh it's coming I'm not sure what hapenned". Nice deflection. The Kegs service has dropped vastly on this experience. Again no one said anything nor was there an offer for a drink, bill reduction or anything. I'm spending a lot of money here people. I really hope others have a smoother experience but overall I felt that the staff/policy has gotten worse. Maybe the kid was to scared to mention it or he just didn't care. I worked in the restauraunt industry at Chop Steakhouse back in the day and they were adamant that you let them know if someone isn't happy with their meal. Then sent a manager to see how they could improve the experience. I highly suggest improving this process as someone spending a lot of money will take their busniess elsewhere. I still tipped my 15%-20% as people are making a living this way but I'm also spending a lot of money on these trips. I would probably look at eating somewhere else the next time I go to Banff. I hope your experience is better.

One of the managers was on the floor chatting with a staff member that was dining from what I could gather from their loud conversation. We ordered a new york steak and a bbq ribs. The steak was really tender but the ribs were burned. The worst thing is, the waitress tripped and all of our main order got spilled to the ground into a poor guy at the next table's foot. She only took back the ribs to fix (prob just to add some fries), not the steak even though obviously most of the steak sauce was spilled. We were too hungry so we ate it anyway, but for a place this pricy, we expected more.

Staying in the Banff Caribou Hotel and ordered room service from the Keg. Completely dissatisfied. The dishes we ordered were not complete or correct. My top sirloin steak ordered as medium was delivered very rare and was so low quality I was unable to cut through it. My wife got the oven roasted chicken dish, it was missing the mushrooms, onions, and brussel sprouts listened on the menu. My recommendation is under no circumstance order room service from the Keg! Sadly their food quality has turned pathetic. Update: After taking the steak down to the front desk. They remade the meal and gave a free cheese cake. The new was meal was tolerable.

We had a wonderful server Isabelle (sorry if it’s spelt wrong) she heard it was our mini moon (honey moon) and she gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. One of us had steak and lobster and the other the sirloin Oscar with the baked garlic shrimp to start. The service was super fast, friendly and she answered all our questions. Food came out fast and was just as good as it looked! Clean restaurant.

We have been to this Keg on previous ski ⛷️ trips to Lake Louise ????️. We ordered 20oz Rob eye steak and shared it as 10oz each was enough. Surprisingly the steak, medium rare, was not as good as the same cut at Wild Bill's. We had baked potatoes and broccoli and shrimp cocktail. Service was attentive and noise level was conversation friendly ???? Rib eye was $50. With drinks and gratuity everything totalled about $75 person for the three of us ????

I have to agree with others over priced and took forever. Hour and 45 min is ridiculous. Then the steak looked like it was cooked with a blow torch when it got there. I mean it was burnt to a crisp. Sent it back and watched my daughter eat hers. The manager had better have talk with the kitchen what were they thinking sending out a 50.00 dollar steak like that. They offered to make it right but only a fool would eat anything after it's been sent back to the kitchen. Heading to the pizza place next door.

We had originally planned on going to the other Keg on Banff Ave. because of reviews. We arrived there at 9:50 PM only to find out the kitchen was closed! So, back to our hotel after a quick phone call, as they told use the kitchen would be open until 10:30. BONUS! Saved the whole night after an awesome long day site seeing.

Upon first glance the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming however are server was on the questionable end of things. Originally my husband had ordered a strip sirloin steak and I ordered a baseball cut. The server at first came across rather over-bearing and then proceeded to continue to do so after the arrival of the meal. My husband immediately noticed that his food was not correct and pointed it out to the server in which she proceeded to deny the mistake. Claiming that after years of service she was not capable of making a mistake she wouldn’t have been aware of. Thankfully the manager came by through our meal to check on things and after finding out the meal was wrong, offered a free desert -(which we happily accepted) Over-all 4/5 rating because the manager was so welcoming and professional! I will happily return again and looking at the photos makes me hopeful to do so very soon! -(scrumptious, and the husband agreed despite the mistake)

Food was typical Keg food always good. Drinks, as always good. But, for the first time in my life I had a server tell me that after 4 keg sized ice teas that she can't serve me. First time in my life I've been cut off let alone after 4 drinks(8oz). Tip went from about 30% to about 2%. Poor choice for her when I am staying right here in the hotel. No more dollars for you!

Not consistent with the other kegs. Creme brule was the worst I've ever had. They did not have many items stocked. The service was mediocre with long wait times. Plate and table combination was horrendous. Plates kept sliding and made it extremely difficult to cut into my steak. Heavily advise against going to this location. There's another location in banff. Go to that one instead.

This was our first stay in Banff, during Covid lockdown, May 19-22, 2021. I wanted a nice steak for my birthday and boy did the Keg on Banff Ave deliver! The manager and staff went out of their way to cook my wife and I a delicious meal and awesome packaging to keep the meals hot for my walk back to our hotel. They also gave me a discount AND a free dessert for my birthday! The Keg on Banff Ave is a touch of class, to be sure!! Thank you!

My partner came to the front hostess stand at 9:39pm, just wanting a glass of wine to end our evening. After 3 minutes of looking and waiting someone finally came to the front to assist him and when asked if we could have a glass of wine they said it was last call and couldn’t serve anymore liquor (new Covid restrictions, I get it, But it was before 10pm). I then went up and waited for a conversation with another guest to be finished (they were talking about reservations and then discounts for keg employees). When the conversation was finished I politely asked if we could come in for one glass of wine and the guy at the front said “oh sorry with new restrictions, our last call is at 9:45pm. And it was 9:47pm. I am appalled that the host would tell my partner something different, and if someone would have been present at the front to begin with, we could have come in and given them business. Poor customer service and lying is never appreciated.

My wife and I had a meal there recently, prime rib was like rubber at $49 a piece, I ordered lobster tails two of them thin as paper and overcooked. Total bill came to $170 I've had better meals at McDonald's. Our server was terrific! This place has become way overpriced with mediocre food likely won't return to another keg anytime soon.

This Keg does not represent the reputation this restaurant always portrays. The steaks were both not good. My “filet” was full of gristle. The ribeye wasn’t the way it usually is. The salad had brown romaine lettuce and we were given croutons when I asked specifically for no croutons. Our server was friendly and attentive. But the overall atmosphere was not what I was expecting. Perhaps the other location is better, but as a local traveler I won’t be returning to this one.

Good wine list and great care, however the places looks like a hotel breakfast buffet. I recommend Chuck's Steakhouse which is very close and of a much higher quality. (Original) Les viandes sont très bonnes, par contre recevoir des frites surgelées (nommées "Keg's fries".. ) avec un steak à plus de 50$ dans un steakhouse est une hérésie.. Bonne carte des vins et services au petit soin, par contre le lieux ressemble à un buffet de petit déjeuner d'hôtel. Arrived on a late RM train. The smell of hickory smoke was in the air so I ordered a half rack of ribs, slaw and fries ($26). And a Manhattan (made big and right). The waiter served the plate with a towel and warned that it was hot. Indeed it was, hot enough to heat and semi-cook the slaw (colorful but dry and limp and should have been in a monkey dish). The fries were the next size up from shoestring and hot and crisp. The 6 ribs were spare, really spare. Fetal back ribs? There was very little meat on them and no bark or smoke ring. It seems the smell of smoke may have been coming from the restaurant next door. All that said, the waiter was among the best I’ve seen. Attentive with a capital A!! Because of him, I’m awarding four stars.

For a classier restaurant specializing in steaks, my medium was well done. The wait staff was unable to tell how the steak was done. When my new steak came the manager didn't apologize for the wait or the first steak. I do recommend however the bacon wrapped chicken which was excellent!

Not one, but 2 back to back visits at this location has proven to be a bad choice when looking for a decent steakhouse in Banff. The hostesses never smile, the staff are slow and the steak went back twice! The kitchen lacks the proper training to get it right. If you specialize in steaks, why can't you cook it right? This location acts like everyone's a tourist so why get it right the first time, the customer won't be back anyways. Except I go to Banff every month and many other locals return often also.

Just ordered the usual prime rib. Wanted it medium well but got it well done. Too hard for me to even get a slice. Server took it to get it changed, borrowed my napkin, didnt get a new napkin, prime rib doesnt look like and taste like the usual stuff I order, looks pale and RARE. Server didnt even bother to ask me if I was doing ok with my food, I did set my plate on the side and just had a few slices. I dont know what happened with the service and the cooks. Very disappointed.

we went to Keg because here in Ontario when you want a good beef rib eye stake, Keg is a place were you guarantee to get it, that's why we went to the Keg in Caribou hotel, it took about 15 min for the waiter to approach our table after we were sited. Then he missed one of the soups. Alberta is boasting with its excellent beef, but after ordering the famous rib eye steak, we were SOOOO disappointed with what was served to us, it was much thinner steak, and by its colour it was obvious it is not beef, maybe veal, or I don't know what kind of beef, it was a light coloured very thin piece of meet, I ordered my steak medium well and my husband ordered medium, both came as medium well, or more like well. each rib eye steak price was $48. In addition to all this, our waiter was supper annoying, asking if everything is ok in a super fake friendly tone every 5 minutes. No, this Keg is definitely NOT what we are used to.

Walked in here at 1030 pm after a very ling drive from Vancouver island. Guys in the bar were happy to cook up anything on the bar menu which we were more than happy with. Went with a couple of keg burgers and a few pints. Barman that served us was very helpful. A fellow Englishman from Ipswitch. Starting to wonder if there are any actual Canadians in Canada. Food and atmosphere top notch with sport on the TV.

The Keg in the Banff Caribou Lodge is convenient to travellers staying in the Banff Avenue hotels. We enjoyed the warm cozy atmosphere and friendly, efficient service. Strict attention is paid to all COVID rules here. We chose a steak dinner and a French onion soup - both of which were superb. We noted that theKeg is also open for breakfast. We will be back when we are in Banff again.

For some reason the restaurant wasn’t open and we could only sit in the bar. The salad we ordered was missing the vinaigrette aspect, the bread not fresh felt like it had sat in the warmer for too long and the sirloin steak as hard as an old cow. Normally the kegs quality standards are 100% not sure what went wrong here today.

Overpriced just because it's in Banff and the quality of food is much lower than other Kegs. Save your money and take time to travel to one on the outskirts of Calgary for a much better experience. The Banff location can get away with lower quality as they know new customers will always visit so if they serve you tough meat they're not bothered. Service was ok, nothing outstanding. Will I visit this location again? NO!

This was the most disappointing experience I wish I didn’t have to give it even 1 star My wife and I and our two children age 3 and 1 went here at 3pm on a Saturday. We went that early to avoid the rush and people as we know the young kids can be loud and rambunctious. We wanted a Valentine’s Day date as best we could with covid and everything going on. We told the host this as well. Halfway through our meal they sit a couple basically 1 table over. Of course they request to move as our kids are struggling to remain calm. Then the manager says if our kids can’t sit (age 1 and 3) we need to leave as they are breaking covid space. As a second note the restaurant had lots of open seating. 100 percent NOT family friendly or customer conscientious. The waiter was very good but stuck in the middle of poor customer focused management and leadership.

Went for dinner table of 10. Ordered full rack bbq ribs. $33.00 . I was waiting for server to ask how the meal was. Did not happen. When she brought my bill for two people for $127.00 .
