Went for Christmas shopping this week at Edmonton Lendrum and had lunch from the deli as we have done the past two years. Sadly, all the staff were having lunch at the customer tables and the atmosphere was not nice. Disappointed that will be our last lunch. However, The store and the items to purchase are still fantastic. Great quality and selection. It is a far drive for us yet worth the trip.

I frequent the downtown location often but the southside one is terrible. I've worked in a grocery store for ten years so I notice things like how a lot of the prepared food was old, you can tell it was sitting there for a long time. The people there do not look happy to be there. I went to get a sandwich and they were all in brown bread, 4 or five in brought but none in white...not much variety. Even at the service counter I had to wait forever for someone to bother helping me. The only department that was friendly was the fresh meat. For their prices, this location is not nearly as fresh as the downtown one.

I have always had a great experience when I come into this store. Sunterra’s food is delicious and they provide high quality food for decent prices. They have prepared meals you can take home and enjoy as well. I love their prepared salads and fresh squeezed juices. They are full of flavour and variety so that you never get bored of them. I also throughly enjoy their desserts! Anytime I am stuck on dessert duty in my household, it’s always Sunterra!

Much better than the downtown version. Products are local and kept fresh. I had troubles with downtown, especially the sandwiches, but never here. Terrific resource for quick small meals, local produce, spices, etc. Not that great for juice and prices are higher than Safeway for most items.

They have great meat. Its fresh and from local producers mostly. If you want great beef and are willing to pay for it Sunterra is the place. The side cooler has some nice pork that is reasonably priced. The big secret is that they use these excellent ingredients in their lunch selections. It the best, most nutritious $7.00 lunch anywhere. Everything from A to Z can be found here and the staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, and accommodating with your needs. Quaint street mall with everything from a "not as good as it used to be" sub shop, a pharmacy, a few clothing shops, quirky little grocery store. Don't forget the pub style restaurant and of course a nice friendly liquor vendor. Oh and if you look a bit harder you'll even find a barbershop. It's impossible to run out of gas here with two fuel stations on hand.

Had an unfortunate experience. Had placed my order a few weeks ago for a fresh turkey (to be cooked and carved) for Christmas dinner. When I went to pick up, no one could find my order and was sent to multiple areas in their store with different people assisting … only to find out that my order had been sitting out for a while and that it needed to be reheated, and that I would need to wait additional time for the reheating even though I had a specific pick up time. They really didn’t have an explanation. It’s too bad really, to not get a fresh turkey after paying a premium cost for the turkey plus the additional fee to have it cooked and carved. Now I will be late to my family’s Christmas gathering and will have to wait until I eat as the turkey was the main part of our meal.

Some things are terribly overpriced, HOWEVER, the prepared meals and meat/cheese selection is far more desirable -- and even less expensive -- than the average shop.

Cut up my card today because this place is no longer what it use to be. The freezers don't work properly and you can tell items have been defrosted and refrozen. I went to buy deli meat and a staff member was there wiping their nose and cutting meat....no thanks. Also the bakery quality has dropped significantly. Most items are over priced and the place is a mess. Shame because I once enjoyed shopping here.

Love this market at Lendrum Place. High quality grocery store with an awesome deli. There is a fantastic bakery, my favourite is the caramel bar. The deli has great prepared foods like pizza, quesadillas, wraps and other tasty items. The staff is friendly and courteous. The store is well lit and clean. We visited here during the Covid 19 pandemic and the staff and store were following the proper protocols. Hand sanitizer at the front door and carts and baskets sanitized. I highly recommend this store to visit for a great selection of good quality food. I work downtown and regularly eat at the downtown location and I love it.

Sunterra delivery service we have been using for over a year. We have found the delivery convenient but we are tired of them sending us rotten or expired food. We call the supervisor and they offer to refund but never improve the quality of the pickers. Our latest order had many mistakes and 3 vegetable orders that are mouldy and have to be thrown out. Premium prices but not premium service! I would not recommend their delivery service!

We always buy cakes here for family birthdays. Staff here are friendly and the bakery is always enjoyable to visit. Their mousse cakes are wonderful and our usual is the mango mousse but we will try the other cakes occasionally. The theme of this place is highest quality products locally sourced. The bakery, deli and snack selection are perfect. I will reserve my opinion on the grocery area as I don't buy much except vegetables. Try the scones or tasty sandwiches made in house. Through COVID, this has been my favourite grocery store. The employees are always kind and helpful. They take cleaning protocols very seriously and the other shoppers are more respectful of the COVID guidelines than I've experienced in larger grocery stores. Their bakery section is amazing. They had Christmas cookies so good I bought them twice. I usually get the croissants weekly. They also have premade meals that are balanced portions and flavorful if you don't feel like cooking. I wish we had more Sunterra around the city; I would have found it sooner!

The produce is the same quality as the big grocery stores but way more expensive, very limited organic. They still use hydrogenated oils (trans fats) in many of their baked goods which there is no excuse for in a small locally run business. Their frozen foods section is more expensive than other stores but has worse selection. The best part of the place is its deli and prepared food section but it has few vegetarian options. I got hummus and pita chips there and the pita chips were so salty I could barely eat them. I literally had to scrape salt crystals off each piece before eating it. This place could be much better.

We ordered a Black Forest cake to the Edmonton Lendrum location. Upon picking it up we found out it came all the way from Calgary and was a Black Forest cake with no cherries on top … I’ve never seen a Black Forest cake missing the cherries before, but when I questioned the fact, I was told this is the way they make them. It also wasn’t decorated very carefully or consistently. Seems like a waste to get a cake driven up from Calgary and a bit disappointing when thinking we are getting something locally made.

Sunterra Market is a little gem - it has the feel of a Farmers' Market tucked into a quiet neighborhood shopping strip - loads of parking! I love going here on Saturday mornings - while hubby has his breakfast of farm fresh eggs and bacon, I take my coffee and pick up my supply of Brussels Sprouts, onions, garlic, and choose from the rainbow of coloured beets and carrots. Sunterra stocks brands that are not always available at other stores in all categories. They offer really nice samples - the most memorable of 2018 was a choice of several kinds of cherries! Sunterra also does pop up style sample days where you can enjoy the tastes of some of their meats cooked to perfection on an outdoor barbeque. They do really nice prepared foods for the busy family - in the centre of the store is a deli counter that wraps around a prep kitchen where chefs busily create all manner of delicious meals to go - cabbage rolls, lasagne, meat pies, quiche, meatloaves, salads, soup stocks, dips, veggie trays. Along the back, the array of meats are also worth a perusal, followed by a really lovely bakery

Today I attended the Edmonton Lendrum Sunterra location and for the second time I heard a Caucasian gentleman in a white shirt and tie (who appeared to be a manager or at least their superior) speak to staff in a rude and condescending manner. Once was as I was purchasing meats and salads from the cooler and it happened to staff while she was trying to serve me, and today it was as I was walking in and he was ‘coaching’ staff on how to invite customers in. It makes me extremely uncomfortable that he is doing this in front of customers and I wonder what the experience is of staff there? It seems humiliating and uncalled for. It truly makes me not want to support this store when I used to love coming here and love the selection. I hope something can be done to ensure that staff are treated fairly.

Highly overpriced , overrated and overcrowded. Very annoying shopping experience bumping into people with shopping carts trying to negotiate the cramped space . They really need to reassess the area and move into a larger space to serve their customer needs. Not worth the stress and frustration of shopping here where staff work in a third world confined environment and appear to be treated like slaves. If you have an excess amount of money to spend then this is the place for you!

Paige answered the phone, told us all orders had been filled and Sunterra was done cooking for the day. But when she felt our disappointment, she was kind to ask for how many people we needed to order for and since it was only two she asked us to hold while she asked management to make an exception .. Came back to the phone and told us they had made a exception for us ...Wow that is going above and beyond. When my wife picked up our dinner on Sunday she recognized the order and was so helpful to explain the menu and ensured we had all that we would need . We want to ensure she is recognized for Amazing over the top service and we`d also like to thank the Sunterra foods and (Paige ) for outstanding service. I purchased the porcetta one time because i was so curious on how it taste. It was alright, not quite what i was expecting. If you are looking for a good banana bread! This past Friday I ordered a Tiramisu cake for my daughter's birthday. I thought it was a pretty decently priced for the size, but I wasn't expecting it to be one of the best Tiramisu cakes we've ever had! It was beyond exceptional! It was heavenly to eat, and even our Italian relatives thought this cake was better than the ones they always get at our Italian stores. Beautifully made, we were extremely impressed! Will definitely go back to order my cakes from there! This was at the Lendrum, Edmonton location.

First time visiting the Sunterra Market in search of a particular item and found it a very worthwhile trip. They have a fantastic deli where I found whole turkey breasts (not like most deli counters) and then a whole section of prepared food. Picked up some salmon, portobello mushrooms and asparagus with peppers for dinner. Great quality food. I will be back!

I phoned Sunterra to pick up a carrot cake as they have the best carrot cake though very pricy$28. She asked when I would be there and I said within the hour. I get there and asked for the cake and she said they just sold one and could I wait 15-20 minutes. I guess there is no choice as I drove from Goldbar and it was for a birthday. But here’s the thing if you have one and I am coming there within an hour why did you sell it. If you did not have one why did you just not say come after 2:00 in the afternoon or we do not have one available. I would have found somewhere else to purchase it. I have mobility issues so I am in my car waiting. I do not buy any other food here as I personally do not find it holds up well to reheating.

Forget the fast food and visit these folks for fast, healthy take away items. Daily "big pan" specials, freshly made sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, veggie cups etc. They use a lot of local (and Albertan) producers for all of their items. Pre-prepped burger patties, kabobs, meatloaf etc. Just pop it on the grill. Friday night feasts are amazing as well. A three course feast for two packaged up in a brown paper bag and ready to take home. The bakery is full of tourtiere in the fall, pumpkin pie and creme brulee. Anything I have tried has been so delicious! If you haven't visited them, give them a try, you just might like it!

I enjoy shopping regularly at Sunterra. I buy my meats and produce for the week, plus dairy and a few baked goods. I love the deli department, as they have so many foods to take home that are already cooked or prepared. Today's excursion was fine as usual, although I could not find anybody in the grocery department who could tell me where I could find mayonnaise or applesauce. I stopped one employee to ask about the applesauce but he didn't know so I continued to look for it. Overall though I like shopping there very much. They have interesting items and excellent produce & meats. A gentleman in the meat department assisted me in buying a couple of steaks and a ham. That department always consistently gives great service.

"The roast beef sandwiches look so good," said my partner after a few hours shopping. "Let's get one and sit outside to enjoy the sunshine!" We were pleased that the tables offered a choice of sun or shade and we chose a roast beef and egg salad sandwich to share. The bread was stale. The first bite of roast beef reaped a huge mouthful of gristle, and despite our hunger, we ended up feeding the nearby garbage can instead. Although the store looked lovely and things were well presented, be careful with the remade - especially the sandwiches!
