You will be able to see the opinions of real people who purchased the products and services of Freson Bros. Fresh Market - Edmonton (Butcher Shop) in Banff (Canada).
Right now this firm receives a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is almost the highest, and it's founded on a high number of scores, so we can be quite sure that the assessment is quite accurate. If people have bothered to give their review when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Butcher Shop corresponds to the category of Fresh food market.
Excellent sourdough. Purchased 20+ loaves. A frequent buyers punch card or bulk purchase discount for bread would be a great idea!
Nice to have a store carrying local products. We enjoyed the retro look of the store as well. Clearly, they put a lot of thought in the setup and appearance! Our shopping experience was a very positive one. The thing that drops their rating down is the quality of their cooked food. We ordered fried chicken and their take home pizza. The fried chicken was extremely dark (overcooked, white meat was so dry we couldn't even choke it down and the dark meat was dry too) and it tasted burnt. The pizza lacked flavour and was very skimpy on toppings. So disappointed in their cooked foods as we've heard so many people rave about it.
The buffet breakfast is good! Have your eggs made the way you want and it is UNLIMITED!! ????
Maybe it's the Mason jars of ready made soup like borscht. Could it be that you can buy meat wrapped in old fashioned butchers paper? This place makes you feel like your strolling through a farmer's market. Like there is a farm out in the back harvesting food and bringing it in fresh to your table. Prices are higher here but quality is also apparent. Parking is good. When's the last time you had fun grocery shopping? It's worth a visit.
Beautifully thought through store with an emphasis on Alberta made products. Great meat selection and a European feeling diner. A little pricy but it is an experience unlike any other grocery store.
Love the huge selection of local Alberta goods! They also have so many unique store made food options at reasonable prices. The cashier was very friendly and we even had someone help pack our bags
So far love this place. Awesome collection of all sorts of things that you usually don't get elsewhere. Still a lot to check out. The items we bought so far have been awesome!
Lots of interesting products, but poor store layout, not at all intuitive. Also, I find that produce here does not last as long as that bought at other stores.
Truly delightful. It feels a bit like a farmers market, a bit like main street Disneyland, albeit, of course, a grocery store. Great produce and good meats. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A bit expensive, but good for small trips in an enjoyable shopping atmosphere.
Overall the store has a wonderful look. I do love the focus on local. Produce, meats, and breads are usually quite stocked. There is no doubt this store offers quality. Prices are very expensive. Anyone on a strict budget may find this is not their place to shop. And if you're expecting anyone to ask you if they can help you find something, you have come to the wrong place. This is quite the change compared to days I'd shop at Freson's with my grandmother in Barrhead. And sad to discover today that their sourdough cinnamon buns are now double the price from store opening up to last week. That was a Sunday AM tradition which may have to switch to a "once in a while" tradition. ***UPDATE**** Maybe they read my review, but those cinnamon bun prices have come back down to Earth, and customer service has improved 10 fold.
LOVED this grocery store. Such a unique shopping experience! Their take on organizing the store is very interesting, I really enjoyed the “Bakers” corner and the “Roots” pantry haha. Very unique for Edmonton - I usually see these “boutique” type stores in Calgary, glad to see we’re getting some class up here.
Grocery and fresh food mart that has a root cellar (where root vegetables are kept refrigerated), bakery, hot food area, and meat department carrying only local beef, pork, and poultry. Prices are competitive. Attractive looking place. Worth a visit.
Awesome shopping experience. Love their bakery and fresh food section.
Freson Bros has such an amazing selection abs great layout. They're locally run and owned by fellow Albertans and super friendly as well.
It's clean and the layout is organized well. I appreciate the attempt to focus on local products although many of the products I found are not from Alberta! Many were disappointingly not even from Canada. I do appreciate the unique variety of I know that much of it is not Albertan or local. The stuff that was local was often overpriced. Their food is okay. The pizza was surprisingly not that good, and their Alberta Steak sandwich was open-faced, which I wasn't expecting, and most of the portions were small. To end on a positive, I did enjoy their sides like mashed potatoes.
Great store, wide variety of products! Their meat sale is great,, it’s ongoing nowadays for the grand opening(I think it’ll end on Friday the 12th of March 2020,,, not sure though). The staff are super friendly and very helpful, they’re doing an awesome job keeping the store clean, neat and all the shelves and fridges are constantly replenished . They’ve got a nice dine in area where u can enjoy snacks, soups, pizza, salads, coffee, desserts and ice cream! They also have a wide range of beverages to enjoy at their cute “bar”. Some of their sections are: frozen foods, produce, fresh fruits and veggies, bakery, salad bar, hot meals, deli and also kitchen and baking supplies! They also have a huge parking lot infront of them, and their line up moves fairly quickly. It’s a must visit!
Some of the prices are higher than other grocery stores, but very clean an organized and have a lot for items you wouldn't find at a regular grocery store. Loved going here. People are friendly and love their meat selection.
Went for first time today. It was great. Longish drive from house but worth the trip for a big shopping.
It’s conveniently located but the prices are quite high and selection is limited. It’s great if you just need one or two things but I couldn’t do my weekly shop there. The cashiers are all very friendly, shame the same cannot be said for the rest of the staff! Every time I go in I’m always taken aback by how the floor associates do not acknowledge or make eye contact with you. Whoever is in charge on the cashiers though is doing a great job because they are always so friendly and helpful.
Me and my boyfriend we were there earlier around 4:30 pm for dinner. The lady at the kitchen with two braids was talking with a girl I’m not too sure if it’s her coworker or a customer. They seemed to have so much fun that she won’t stop laughing. We waited there for couple minutes and my boyfriend asked her that should we order from her. She apparently was unhappy that we “interrupt” her. My boyfriend ordered beef on a bun and she asked a staff to add sauce while speaking with us. Then she started judging that we put all the sauces in our sandwich by asking “ you want all the mustards in your sandwich?” I assumed that she’s having a bad day but from the way she laughed I don’t think so. Have a good life then. :)
The smash burger was amazing. Will definitely be back for more.
I'm always on the fence with this one. In someways I really love going here, local, Canadian, wide selection, cool grocery store, on the other hand, sometimes produce is trash, their ready made bbq is horrible, and the cashiers have no idea on how to bag groceries. So, I guess I am saying if all these things nicely align, you'll have a wonderful experience.
Fantastic food market...in store butcher, bakery department and deli, majority of the store's products are sourced locally when available from within Alberta, the staff are very friendly and helpful and you can find them everywhere throughout the store, with competitive pricing or better. Highly recommend. Barry ????????
This place is absolutely amazing. So clean and the staff are top notch. So much is made in house and they source as much local goods as they can. What they can't buy local, they try and buy Canadian. Everything just screams old fashioned in …
Amazing customer service. The staff at the front doors are amazing and very welcoming. The cinnamon buns are to die for, I highly recommend them! Being able to whiteness how everything is done and made is a very unique touch. Keep up the great work. Cinnamon and raisin sourdough bread is another item to add to your shopping list. Will be back soon!
Do you have a 6th star rating? Impressive market. Canned, fresh, deli, butcher, eat in area. Could have spent hours here!!
If you like to support local, and going to a place that has everything. This is the place to be. I could spend hours here! Love their fresh meat, fresh breads, and fresh veggies.
It was great! Very good people in Restaurant and helpful with any questions.
So glad they finally opened one closer to home! The staff did an excellent job handling the pigpen ???? most of them were on the first day, since the grand opening was yesterday. Line went fast, grabbed some hot and ready chicken strips for dinner after grocery shopping! Excellent food. We will be back ;)
It was my first time visiting Freson Bros. today (March 12). I knew that they were incredibly busy, therefore, I went later at night so that I would avoid the line ups and the massive crowd of people in the store. When I walked in, I immediately saw two customers at customer service being served by the customer service employee. They were exchanging friendly conversation and she was checking out their groceries. They both were not wearing a mask. I was so shocked. I have not seen staff being ignorant about anti-maskers at any other grocery store (Costco, Save On Foods, Walmart, Superstore, Co Op). I am not sure why they were not instructed to wear a mask when they first came into the store. It is incredibly concerning knowing that the employees at Freson Bros. allowed these customers to shop in their store with no mask on when it is mandatory and there is a law in effect. I had no idea that Freson Bros. allows customers to freely roam the store with no mask on! From taking the time to read the other reviews on Facebook, it seems that this is a pattern. Maybe the stores need a visit from Alberta Health Services. I was thoroughly disappointed and concerned by this. I will not shop at this location ever again. Instead, I will go to Co Op or Save On Foods.
Lovely little foodcourt along with the supermarket, not overly expensive either.
So cute! The branding is great, the store was super clean and display groupings are great!
I enjoyed my first visit to Freson Bros. I was disappointed when Whole Foods bowed out of Edmonton, and am happy to welcome a local company instead. The store displays are welcoming and the produce is appealing. Butcher, bakery, deli, cheese station, smoked meats, candy shop, ready to go foods are all wonderful. Love the locally-sourced items. Seafood section was so-so (here, I prefer non-local seafood.. it’s great if you like eating pike though)... My only wishes: - I hope the outside lines go away once the hype settles down. - The prices for grocery staples get to be more competitive with the other neighbourhood grocery stores. Would be great to make Freson a competitive one-stop shop one day. I am happy to pay more for tasty specialty items unique to the store though! Great grand opening, lots to explore! I’ll definitely be back! Thanks for opening up in our neighbourhood!
Very well organized!
Freson Bros. Is such an amazing shop, everything is decently priced and the cafeteria/deli is one of the best in Edmonton! Definitely recommend this place!
It's great to support local but items for your pantry can be pricey.
It's a very nice fancy schmancy store as far as grocery stores go. Nice selection of fresh produce. Nice selection of quality meats. The deli counter is also quit impressive. The hot food has been mostly hits, some misses, but don't go …
Excellent produce, great bakery (particularly the sourdough), and very nice local selection of products. Also very good range of vegan products, better than most places though prices can be slightly higher than other grocery stores. The take-and-bake pizza is fantastic, with one vegan selection always available. Deli department has excellent smoked foods, including Montreal smoked tofu.
Great store lots of different products and brands from your typical grocery store
We love shopping in Freson Bros. It carries good variety of produce. In the bakery dept, we enjoy the fresh cinnamon buns the most. Restaurant was extra extra good. We love coming for lunch & coffee . The flower shop has the most fresh & best variety of flowers & green.
Unique and niche products amongst your common typical shopping items. A little overpriced, it's nice to go for one or two things not to go for a big trip. Staff is nice ????
A very cool grocery store that opened during the pandemic when my husband was doing all the shopping. Was already impressed with the meats he brought home from the butcher shop and deli - the store itself is beautiful and clean! We will definitely continue to shop here for select items, however will stick with our regular grocery store for many basics, canned goods, etc.
My favorite grocery store. Staff are friendly and helpful. The layout of the store makes sense and they stock so many items produced in Alberta. The inhouse made and cooked pizzas are delicious, love the crust! Their soup and sandwich is just as good when your in the mood for something different. A comfortable feeling to the store, gives it that small town feeling where your right at home.
The healthiest vegetables of any grocery store in edmonton. I highly recommend this grocery store over all other chain stores. Plus, their butcher is top notch.
Prices are a bit high but the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Store is clean. Bakery, sandwhiches and hot food are great. Unfortunately, I have found a hair in my baked goods and sandwich before. I appreciate how there is always someone working in produce to make sure everything is fresh (when I go anyway)
Hello folks, I got a small, boneless ribeye roast today at the Butcher Shop. Also got a couple of the corn on the cob (.59ct ea.). I marinated the roast with finely chopped rosemary and thyme, a little salt and pepper and a Red Robin seasoning. Put in on the rotisserie and cooked and added smoke too. It was DELICIOUS!! One of the best beef roasts I’ve ever eaten. The corn was not as good. It was a BC product and although very inexpensive, it was tough and kind of old. Still, the meat from the Butcher Shop was excellent.
is this the best market in town? probably. great place to eat too, good fresh selection on groceries, lots of local products, only place where I've found Jicama in Canada, great service, friendly staff, good portions in the dinner. love this place, we are regular visitors now
Amazing selection and a focus on Alberta products. Really great place! They also give free soft serve ice cream to young children :)
A different experience from a normal superstore. A wide range of products, unique displays, bakery setup was out of the world. Each department had its own identity. Finally the dine and take away options were awesome. Will definitely be a frequent patron.
Worth the drive to this amazing place! Local, fresh, and delicious foods! Try out their in-house pizzas which are cooked in a woodstove oven yum:) also their sourdough breads are so so good????
Prices are bit high but for the freshniess and variety explains the price. The ready made food is well worth the trip to get it.
Store is amazing, products are local and very fresh. They also have different all you can eat buffets every week
The prices are way too high on certain items as well as the amount you get with certain products i.e. chicken. We have had very inconsistent bread items from the store and will just go back to old habits as the quality was more consistent. Cool place but way too high prices.
Have so much vegetarian options, absolutely love it!
Love Freson Bros! Was happy to get one in Edmonton. Enjoy it as much as the Hinton store. Fresh tasty food. Unique finds.
Great store! Very spacious and colorful. You can tell the produce is fresh and mostly local. Some exotic ones you don't see in most groceries too. Love that I don't have to travel across the city to go to a butcher shop to get the exact cut I want. Bakery corner smells too good, couldn't resist the temptation on the sourdoughs. Will be back to try their in-store food and fried chickens.
Very nice store. So much is done in store. And they source from local farmers and suppliers. Nice to support other albertains. A great place to buy your family's food.
Loved it my first time there and being a vegitarian it was wonderful to find so much for a decent price I'm impressed easy to sign up and great service. Found everything raw diet that looks amazing and healthy. Everything is fresh and good Portion for the price.
Nice store, nice staff. Way over priced . Yah they got lots of nich stuff other stores don't. I should have went to stupid store ,then I would have found the actuall stuff I was after .
Holy moly!! Who says grocery shopping is boring..I double dog dare you to be in and out in 10 min...
The store is so large it's overwhelming at first, not at all what I expected. Love the music they play, this place is definitely not your average grocery store. Smaller portion sizes available for smaller families or single people which is awesome. Only reason for not getting 5 stars is it's a little pricey. Worth the experience for special occasions though!
Absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and top quality. Have a lot of interest food there. I work there and love eating and working there. Great restaurant area. 10/10 would recommend
My absolute Favourite ???????? You’ll find items that aren’t in any supermarket. Bakery is delicious. Multiple vegan options that you can not find anywhere. Locally sourced items that were …
A good market grocery store that specializes in Alberta produce. You find a great variety of items in here, local meats, craft pop, beer, etc. Costs more so the place for quality goods.
Great AB producer, selection is great... prices are brutal
Love this store! Staff are really friendly, store is clean, items well organized. Also love the selection of local made goods. Most produce looked fresh. Was a bit disappointed with the cinnamon buns (had a hair in it) and strawberry torte cake we purchased but the other dessert looked good so will try those out next time.
Clean bright and very friendly staff. The food looks delicious throughout, bakery is well stocked with a range of breads and treats. Smokehouse section smells amazing with their in-house smoker. And the meal deals & coffee / sitting area is well priced and clean. Can’t wait to return to try more things.
Absolutely fantastic store. Has everything you could need, in a carbon neutral package. Great smoked meat section and the fresh pizza is also delicious.
Great pizza. Also beer. A bit pricey, but the only supermarket I'd go to on a date. Eat before you shop.
They open at 6 am...how great is that. And the shelves are stocked at that time. Good quality products, great meat dept. Remember you pay for what you get, so things seem a little more expensive.
Fresh produce and it has this retro look that I really like.
Great store. Good mix of products. Reminds me of Whole Foods in the US. Not for the budget minded but definitely a great experience.
Nice old-timey feel, great selection of products. If you have kids, you'll have a tough time getting them away from the candy section located at the front of the store. Overall great place to shop, very friendly staff.
We have been here twice in one week. It is such a nice clean and well stocked store. Beautiful butcher shop and bakery.
Love their hot food selection. Soft serve ice cream is the best!
Buffet review - as of 8/21/2021, FOOD SERVING STAFF ARE NOT WEARING MASKS. Great value for $15. There is an assortment of carbs, proteins, fruits, an omlette bar, but essentially no vegetables.
Like the way they locally produce and procure. My favourite place is the dining and kitchen.
It looks like a high-end Grocery Store. Nice ambience country-style Store. They have different varieties of cheese. Bakery items are so good especially the cinnamon rolls. Quality of meats is good but pricey. Chicken is the cheapest. Most grocery items are pricey vs Walmart/Superstore. They have rewards points too! Staff are good looking/presentable/pleasant.
Incredible business. The concept of this grocery store is outstanding. I could have spent the whole day there! Prices are fair. The best assets are the employees. Incredibly friendly and helpful. I live an hour away and it will be worth the drive every time I go.
1st time there. Produce a little more expensive. But good quality. Like they supply local. Good variety in meat, Groceries, and bakery.
Searched the city for these Luxardo Maraschino Cherries Freson Bros seemed the only place to have them ????
Can be a bit pricey for certain things, but often are paying for better quality. I enjoy shopping here and the vibe inside is old school yet up to date. Great food cafeteria and all you can eat breakfast on the weekends. …
Love this place. Wish there was one in Sherwood Park. Salad bar is so good. Produce is always fresh and perfect. Lots of great varieties for people with dietary restrictions.
Very nice place to go shopping and for dine in. The food is great ????. The environment is so cool and very welcoming. You can easily find anything you want.
I appreciate the quality and freshness of the food, especially the produce, bakery and the vegan section with a huge option. It is very clean, spacious, and well designed. The aisles are wide apart and the store is one whole rectangular space that is easy to navigate through, making the grocery shopping experience even more enjoyable. I love their German sourdough bread.
They're employing alot of people, plus they have great stuff. Good vegan option aswell!
This was my first visit to the new store that recently opened in the city. The store is huge! It is super clean and I am amazed by everything that is offered! The produce is always fantastic and I really love that meat is locally sourced. My only other experience with Freson Bros. is the Stony Plain store, which I rave about all the time. This new store is next level! Well done! Needless to say, I am thrilled to have a store so close to home! I was excited to see that there is a pizza oven and a grill for fresh burgers. If you've never had a meal here, what are you waiting for?
A beautiful store. Variety and unique products exceptional. A bit pricey in some things but comparable in others. Love the cinnamon buns and Mother dough breads.
If you are looking for an experience of a grocery store that emphasizes good old fashioned service, atmosphere, nostalgic "back in the old days where things were simpler in life", retro uniform, old market designed sections of grocery stores, serious sourdough bakery, variety of comfort hot deli food to dine in or take home, fresh produce, fresh butcher shop, retro candy section, a commitment to buy from local or Canadian producers and retro designed cash lanes, Freson Brothers IS YOUR DESTINATION!!!!! I enjoyed my indulgence shopping trip here. For weekly grocery runs when you have budget needs and lowest price possible to feed yourself and your family, you might need to skip this place and go to a more reasonable place. Freson Brothers is more of an indulgence once a month or less for me however.
This store is a vegan paradise! So many new brands I haven’t seen for meats and cheeses. The selection is insane, and the vegan products are actually the same prices as other stores. They even have vegan pizza to take and bake, as well as a hot to-go vegan section. I wouldn’t buy my normal groceries here due to the prices. But for specialty and vegan food, I will for sure be returning. They do also have western family products which are a fair price.
An amazing place to shop for your groceries. Many fresh and unique produce and grocery items with a huge ready to eat section. Plenty of parking in their lot. They also have a membership system for you to collect points to redeem on products. Very friendly staff.
Really friendly staff and delicious hot deli lunch counter items.
Extremely Over priced for groceries, the” butcher shop” bbq salmon was the worst piece of salmon I have tasted in my life. Disgusting
Freson Bros. Is not your typical grocery store. It’s upscale and designed for the customers that are looking for country feel with a unique experience. The ambiance is great. The produce section on the small side but contains some unique …
Great spot. Too bad that the province has banned being able to eat in their dining area. They have a diverse selection of baking & hot items to eat. It is a fun place to shop for food.
Enjoyed a casual reasonable priced supper and drinks from hot counter at store. The restaurant seating area and washrooms were very clean. Would go back again.
Great local grocery shopping experience but I found it to be a pricey!
Very impressive store! I'll definitely be back ✅????????
Beautiful new store. Very busy. Strange layout I had to keep going in circles ended up grabbing lots of stuff I didn't need. And forgot items I did need. Prices are a little higher but not crazy. Nice selection and friendly staff.
Love all the food I've tried ???? it's my first time to dine in in this restaurant but we've been taking out food since they open and so far service is excellent ???????????? ????????????????????
Cinnamon buns are amazing. Breads really good. Meats really good. Produce very fresh. Lots of "homestyle" products. Many unique products. Made to be like a country store. Store has regular groceries as well. You can purchase a variety of hot, cooked items like pizza (whole or by slice), ribs, macaroni and cheese etc. Looked really good. They also have a small cafe in the store. Meat and bakery prices were within range of other stores, many grocery items and some produce are priced higher. Discount day on 1st of every month. Overall it was a nice change from my regular shopping. I will be back for bakery and meat department for sure.
I had a coffee and muffin from their bakery and it was quite delicious and service was excellent, highly recommend this place
It's really neat that the store serves Alberta meat and produce. A very clean store and most if what we need for food or preparation are available. I believe it's new so the kitchen needs more staff. My wife was excited that cooked Hungarian goulash was available, something she enjoyed in a kitchen for the oil company I worked for in Calgary back in the 80s. We were disappointed they were so busy that they told us they were all gone when they didn't bother to cook because they were too busy.
My most favorite grocery in the entire city, I don't even live in the city. I make an special trip to this store every once or twice a weeks when I can. Keep up with a good services and supplies, I also like the whole "local", would like to see more and more of local.
So much local selection! Looks great, smells good, makes you want to stay a while and enjoy the wood fired pizza!
This is a shopping experience. Old-fashioned, lots of local products, so much sourdough, smoked meat, sausage, locally made old-fashioned candy, hard to find products, delicious fresh food in the cafe/take-out area, and so much more. I love this place! And I think this is the only grocery store I’ve ever seen 12 kinds of craft beer on tap.
Great grocery store. Quality is high. Prices aren't far off from the chain stores. In some cases Freson Bros has cheaper prices on higher quality items. Highly recommend at least checking it out once. You'll be impressed
Great place for grocery shopping though I noticed some stuff are a bit expensive such as Nescafe coffee cans is $5 more expensive than other stores. There is a lot of options at Freson Bros. such as root cellars, different cuts of meat, some candy (warheads!), baked foods (sourdough cinnamon buns, tarts etc.) and smoked food. However the one thing I would say that needs improvement is the BBQ platter for $50 supposed to feed 5-6 people but all you get is one beef rib, 2 pork ribs, 3 sausages, box of fries (taters), one more side and 4 bread rolls. It doesn't sound a lot of food to feed 5-6 people considering sharing the food with my parents as we are big eaters. It wasn't enough that I had to order 15 pieces of chicken. The BBQ platter is not worth it as my parents think it is some scam. The food taste good. I am curious with how Freson Bros. will do competing with Sobeys, Save-on-Foods, Walmart, Safeway and Co-op.
I have been a baker for 31 years. Their breads are made just like bread was made in Europe 50+ years ago, real sourdough! No vinegar, sugar or yeast! My Oma would be pleased!
They have lots of selectionand huge deli/mini cafeteria there, the pizzas they make fresh are good the only gripe i have is the poutine there was absolute garbage, the cheese curds were hard and dried out and coupdnt even eat them and there was barely any gravy on the potato wedges they use for poutine here.i loved the fact they had every flavor of the island calypso juice here that i enjoy drinking.
Cory and Kaitlyn in the buffet restaurant are absolutely excellent with customers........EXCELLENT FIRST CLASS SERVICE........
Very clean, great bakery, good butchers shop. A little pricey but some very tasty treats.
Love love this store. They have everything I need. Always. Even down to bilk chicken feet for my dogs lol They seem to have a lot of local products which I really appreciate. They are a local Alberta based company and I feel good about supporting our local Economy
LOVE this store. First time there and will be a regular. Produce is so fresh and healthy looking. Clean has everything including a restaurant all fresh food. Very polite and helpful staff. Washrooms are like a 5 star restaurant, unlike most store Washrooms. Highly recommend this store
We tried the badland cheese pizza from the father dough pizza inside Freson bros at mullen place but this is what we got in the box. In the name of Basil, we got one basil broken into 8 pieces. Really?! And also the dough wasn’t cooked properly. We were so excited that we got a new pizza place in neighbourhood but definitely not going back there. ????????
Great. The local groceries are very reasonable. Great meat department, comparable pricing but much better quality. Some unique local items such as potato bombs, haven't cooked them yet. I like their packaging; even numbers so cooking for two is easier. I would definitely recommend checking it out. Be aware, regular canned and packaged goods are pricey.
Wonderful and lovely staff, what old Safeway and Woodward food market was and believe needs to be, thanks Freson Bros. God Bless And stay well!
Great lunch. Very intresting items and lots of food
Brunch is so good! But hope to see more food in future!
They have something new, that's for sure, but I kind of feel like they've just put lipstick on a pig and made you pay more for it. The selection for local products is great, I'll give them that. I just feel like the everyday stuff that you can get at any grocery store is sold at a premium here. New packaging on the same products sold for more. It didn't live up to the hype for me, but hey, that's just my opinion.
It's well laid-out with some unique product options that you won't find all in one place, if anywhere else. The closest grocer to Whole Foods in the city, in my opinion. The only reason this store doesn't get 5 stars is the hit against the kitchen. Line ups for ordering and waiting can get chaotic, feeling like you're breaking up the flow of pedestrian traffic no matter where you're standing. They also reduced the kitchen hours, which is unfortunate for a night-shift worker like myself, but it's cost effective i'm sure.
Such a great place , freshest produce with so many varities of fruits and veggies , some really exotic ones too. The bread and pizza are out of this world, they use traditional methods of baking , with only flour , water and salt. Bread can be good for you too ! And the meat section blew me away. Also they have a restaurant that serves amazingly fresh food, plus they have beer and wine. Great place to shop and hang out with the fam !
What an amazing shopping experience. This is so much more than a grocery store; it’s a destination. We enjoyed likely the best steak sandwich we’ve ever had - with a nice IPA and a white wine and both on tap! The brothers and their team have hit it out of the park... again.
This is a cool grocery store, it’s got all the regular stuff and on top of that a great quick service food center. Pizza, paninis deli counter. Their sour dough is really amazing and everyone working there is friendly and seems to really like their job!
Nice to have a local option instead of the national stores. An Alberta success story. Love the hot meal to go counter. Good butcher shop. This is almost the same as the location in Stony Plain. Hopefully with time the lineup will go down.
It was delicious! We ordered indi pizzas and they were all thoroughly enjoyed by all even the picky kids! Beautiful store
It was my first time there and I really enjoyed the different variety of foods that was on hand. The grill hot food items us a great idea nice very different.
Everyone talks about food only, so what about service? I appreciate the store provide staff to help customers bag at cashier. But if a staff bags everything randomly into the bag, and fragile items (like cup cakes in clear plastic containers) gets damaged on the way. Who takes the responsibility? The CS staff would say this is customer’s fault not driving safely. What a good deal.
Very spacious and I love love love the cooked food with the bakery goods! The staff are super friendly and helpful. Warning: there will be a line up outside to get in and when you order cooked food too... The quality of the meat sections are fresh and super cheap as grand opening specials. Try their ???? and slow cook pork ribs!
Such a great experience! Love this new store and all the friendly employees. I want to work here part time it's a gorgeous store and high quality items with a lot of cool things to see and do! I'm so happy we live so close!!!
Absolutely love shopping here, can find almost everything we need in one stop, and they have such good quality stuff. But what made me want to write a review was their brunch buffet! The food was amazing, service was great and super reasonably priced! We will be going back again and again.
Unique selection of exotic produce and endless locally made products!
A store that makes you feel good as soon as you walk in. They have some really unique aspects - a coffee bar with craft beer and sodas (they even had Saskatoon berry soda!). Delicious sourdough cinnamon buns. In-house made sausage. Cafe area includes a fireplace and nice tables for sitting. You can grab a pack of cinnamon buns, pay for it at the cafe and eat it there! Walked past an amazing deal on frozen chicken breasts too! A place to celebrate local - a place to celebrate Alberta.
I absolutely loved this place, they offer really amazing grocery which you'll enjoy. Like the promise, everything is fresh and healthy I am personally someone who loves local produce, it helps promote local businesses Also the facility is very eco friendly, which is so important now as we all need to intend to reduce carbon footprint so the use of solar energy, and the composite from waste is really beautiful and contributes so much Ideas like root cellar really impressed me. I loved this place :)
If youre looking for a vegan snack, either don't get it here, or be prepared to open packaging before you buy. I didn't super enjoy paying $13 for a salad FULL of mold and dried up 'cheese'. I'm told this kind of lazy quality control is typical of their in-house vegan options.
By far the best grocery shop anywhere in Edmonton. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully laid out shop with everything you could possibly want including take out or dine in from the deli. Love it. This is where I will always shop from now on. So happy that they are open in Edmonton
Love the unique feel of this place and it smells good! I understand the pricing for the more specialty items they carry but I don't understand why they charge 2-3x the price for basic items and brands than other grocery stores (like tomato sauce for example). I love the taste of their take home sourdough pizza but the toppings are a bit sparse. I have always had good service. I do not like that they automatically bag your groceries without asking, since I try to avoid plastic bags. I would expect a store like this to at least have paper bags or encourage bringing your own bags, especially since they market themselves as a more eco-friendly business, but in this regard don't follow through.
Different from other stores
I wish I could do 4.75 stars, as it's fine but it's missing a few types of items to make it the level it's trying to be. A nice store, new, good selection, just missing items that would make it a western Farm Boy kind of store.
I often go to food court. Every time I go, I was impressed with the sense of responsibility, sincerity and kindness of all the staff, regardless of the working hours. Fresh coffee and toast are some of the best in Edmonton. Of course, the other foods are great too. I think this attitude comes from the mayor's management philosophy. I wish you endless progress.
Holy excrement!! This place blew my mind first walking in and it kept getting better as I explored. Very surprised at all this store has to offer. First time I ever enjoyed a grocery shop.
good quality brings rural grocery store to big city .. this location is one of the few that has mother sourdough and pizza bakery as well
Amazing sourdough bread at the bakery! Also love the hot takeaway counter, and butcher shop!
Great selection of quality goods. Alot of interesting and culinary inspirational items. The kind of place you want to shop if you have friends coming over for dinner.
Store is beautifully laid out and easy to navigate. Staff were also very helpful and friendly.
A beautifully laid out grocery store. The kind of store that allows you to freely flow throughout to pick up essentials while allowing visibility to the other goods they provide. Combining an eatery with excellent healthy food choices to eat in or take out is outstanding. This store is laid out like an old time grocery/diner/hardware store. Excellent marketing. Very good prices on almost all food. Worth the drive to shop here! Very impressed and I highly recommend.
This place is amazing! Every time I shop here I get to know the store better, the selection of food is quite amazing to say the least. From their pizza and burger section to the deli and other departments; I'm thoroughly impressed with the food and service at this location. I would recommend this store to my friends and family!
Great location! Clean, organized, and each department - deli, meat, bakery, take out are huge! Great selection of in store made products such as pizza, salads, sandwiches, freshly cooked prime rib and chicken, bread to name a few. Only disadvantage though many products are expensive compared to other store chains. Just need to watch your prices!
Nice grocery place. Reminds me a bit of Whole Foods. Has some interesting products and variety eg baking section has a variety of flavouring, not just vanilla, lemon, almond and peppermint.
Excellent shopping environment and friendly staff. I recommend the weekend $15 buffet from 9am-2pm.
To call this a grocery store doesn't come close. The full service butcher shop is worth the price of admission alone. Let them know what you are looking for and they will make it happen. The bakery is bar none and will go head to head with the fanciest in town. Oh and there is a restaurant where you can get a beer. That is how you make groceries better add beer and ribs. It I worth the trip from any direction
I really love this grocery store! The set up is really great! Some stuff is a little pricey but it's also more specialty type products. I get off of work in the AM and it's so nice that it's open and I'm basically the only one there lol best way to shop. Staff are awesome =)
Fresh meat, great deals week-to-week, great hot food to take home! Originally thought it was just another save in foods but it is sooooo so much more than that. Our family loves coming here.
Beautiful environment. Great selection of goods. Helpful and professional staff.
Cool place. Fresh produce and baked goods.
Very nice store. Great quality and unique items. Very fresh. A little expensive on some items but if you want quality……
Great market that promotes Alberta product but doesn't forget to carry international fare. The store layout works incredibly well by keeping the fresh/ perishables on the perimeter keeping the customers flowing. If you need to go down an aisle they are easily accessible. Produce and meats are exceptional but those cinnamon buns are to die for. Too bad I live in north edmonton otherwise this would be a regular stop
Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Great steaks and roasts. A little more expensive than other stores but you get what you pay for.
