Here we offer you the reviews of real people who use the services of Brown Paper Tickets (Butcher Shop) in the territory of Banff (Canada).
At this moment this firm receives a score of 2.4 over 5 and the score is based on 36 reviews.
As you can see its rating is very scarce, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we can say that the rating is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they are satisfied with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to write evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Butcher Shop is included in the category of Event ticket seller.
DO NOT USE BROWN PAPER TICKETS. They do not pay promoters the money they have collected, and they completely ignore you. I loved the concept of BPT as well as their structure--sweet little David going up against the awful Goliath of Ticket Master. I loved that they have low fees and charge promoters nothing for using their service. I've known people who worked for them and had only positive things to say about the work environment. And then they failed to pay me. They emailed me my check number and said "The check's gonna be in the mail!"...and nothing. I called them and 2 weeks later I received an email telling me I'd been put on their "priority list." Yeah, whatever. That was almost a month ago. Obviously I'm quite the priority. Since then, I've asked to be called back and nothing. No calls, no emails; I've been utterly forgotten and ignored. Shame on you, Brown Paper Tickets. You collected money for the ticket sales for my event that ended on March 1st. That was BEFORE the economy shut down and we all went into quarantine mode. You continue to sell tickets for more events (good luck with that, promoters!!!), so one would assume that not only did you have the money in your accounts to pay me what you owe me in a timely fashion, even if you didn't have the funds temporarily, you still have money coming in...so where is it going? Are you that bad at managing your books? Up until they failed to pay me and just dropped all communications with me, I was excited to use BPT for my next event. Now I feel I can never trust them again. Granted, the global-pandemic we're experiencing is (hopefully) an event we'll not experience again, but it makes no sense that they can't pay out for an event they had already begun processing a check for, an event that closed just before the economy stalled. If they had kept in touch with me, explained why the check they'd begun processing had been delayed, and had given me a concrete date to expect my payment, I'd be patiently waiting for my money and feel that I'd been taken care of. Big mistakes, BPT. You have failed big time.
They charge a small fee on top of the original ticket price, but this was much lower compared to similar ticketing services. I also like how tickets were sent within minutes after I made the purchase.
It was quick getting my tickets. I received the notification over my email and had the tickets printed. Easy way to buy tickets.
Last year I got tickets for the Bellingham Comic Con in October 2018. I didn't get my tickets and submitted a customer service ticket for a refund. TODAY 9/04/2019 I get a response to my emails. Nothing about a refund, just that they got my service ticket. BEWARE!!! Don't use them for any purchase!!!
I volunteer for a community theater in Oregon. They used Brown Paper Tickets for their last in-person show in early 2020. They have never seen a single cent of their ticket sales (which amount to several thousand $), and their letters and phone calls to Brown Paper Tickets have all been ignored. How this company is still doing business I don’t understand.
It seem COVID becomes a good excuse to withhold people's money as long as they can? It has been a month since I asked Brown Paper Tickets to refund my money back! NO RESPONSE YET!!!!!! the only reason I am giving a start is because you cannot post your review unless highlighting minimum one star!!!!!! Let me translate it here: a big Red buzzer!!!!!! Not a golden star!!!
how is this company still allowed to sell tickets ? I just looked at the site and tickets are on sale for house concerts etc. they have been so deceptive and made us all look really bad, still waiting for my payment
Echoing other reviews. We had tickets for a March event which was cancelled. We have sent tens of emails to inquire about a refund but they don't even bother responding to emails. The whole business seems like a scam to me.
We held a benefit concert that raised thousands of dollars at the beginning of March before everything shut down. They have not sent/deposited our money and have completely stopped communication. They owe hundreds of organizations money. Do NOT use this service you will not get paid...just go on Facebook and you'll see all the people who are out money. NO STARS just wanted to post.
I've come to echo what seems to be a theme. Tickets purchased in February. Late-March event cancelled on the 10th of March. Received a form notification to expect refund in 5-10 days. Nothing. Early April, followed up and received an email to indicate refunds were taking 2-6 weeks (at that point it had already been 3+ weeks since cancellation). By May, Brown Paper stopped taking calls. In June, reached out to both the venue and BPT. Received another form email from BPT with no timeframe for refund. We are currently four-and-a-half months since the event was cancelled. Have spoken with my bank to initiate action. Also took a look at Better Business Bureau where there are a ton of complaints from both the public and from venues whose events preceded the pandemic and still have not been paid. Very shady company. Do not give them your money. And venues: do not trust them to handle your ticketing services (assuming such a need should arise again someday...).
Scam artist! Do not use or purchase tickets from this company. They stole MILLIONS of dollars that belongs to event promoters!
Great service, small parking lot was convenient, as was the location. I've been very happy using them to sell tickets for my event, and I really appreciated their ticket printing service. For $.10/ticket they looked great, with the hologram and everything. I "designed" them online (entered the text as I wished), they showed me what it would look like, I confirmed, and they were ready for me to pick up the next day! The one time I needed assistance from customer service they were prompt and immediately solved the issue. No annoying automated phone tree.
Zero Stars! Purchased ticket pre COVID19 for Leavenworth Wine Festival. They dint answer emails and their phone lines are down. Our requested refund I don’t think is ever coming...
BPT has the most dedicated and helpful customer service agents I've even worked with. Whether you're hosting or attending an event, they are hands down the best choice to handling your ticketing!
Used Brown Paper Tickets as our ticket processor. They took money from our customers for a show on 3/15 and have yet to pay us the money SIX MONTHS LATER. I know the pandemic has been hard on everyone, but I guarantee it has been harder on us and the other venues who use their services than it has on them.
TERRIBLE COMPANY! I bought tickets from Brown Paper Tickets to see a movie at an IMAX theater. There was a problem with the movie and the theater manager told me to contact this company to get a refund. When I called I was told no refunds, no exceptions. When I said the manager said he would authorize the refund given the situation at the theater, Brown Paper Tickets said that was not sufficient for them to process a refund. STAY AWAY!!!
Great company, great people.
DO NOT USE FOR YOUR EVENT OR TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR AN EVENT! I was suppose to go to a show at the start of the pandemic and tickets were purchased well in advance of any signs of a shutdown. Show was cancelled and I received an email saying my card would be refunded at the latest in two months. IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS and I cannot get an email response back despite several attempts to contact both the USA and UK offices. Do not use to sell or buy tickets from.
Great Company
Shady business that does not refund money when an event is canceled even though the stipulations require it. This company has been a constant headache for customers, and promoters. They have turned off their phones and don’t reply to anyone’s requests. Do not use or purchase any tickets from this company. The owners should be locked up for fraud.
I know we are living in crazy times, but it has been more than a month since the event got cancelled and I have requested a refund or status update on my refund request(4 separate emails). Zero response, zero refund. Terrible experience.
RIP-OFF ARTISTS!! They have not refunded money spent for tickets purchased, and the event was cancelled by the promoters. Numerous emails have gone unanswered, phone calls result in a recording with no response, and emails from the promoter state that Brown Paper Tickets are no longer answering phones. Yet, on their site, they are still selling tickets. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They are shady, unscrupulous, and dishonest.
Fee charged reasonable & that's what merits 5 stars.
Im an event talent and I schedule an event for 05/09/2020 I canceled the event due to Covid. But thos company instead or returning money they hide and avoid answering calls. In a was they stole my costumers money, over 100 tickes. Now is 11/20/2020 and they still continue hiding and unrelated issue. No calls or emails responded. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Im telling my clients to call their bank to claim their money
We purchased tickets in Feb for a show on Mar 14. Due to Covid, the show was cancelled. We received an email from Brown Paper Tickets saying our money would be automatically refunded within 8 to 10 days, but it's now been *6 months* with no sign of our money. I have been trying to reach them through emails and phone calls for months, but they do not respond to either. They send out occasional "We're so sorry, it's on it's way" email, but then... nothing. It's been 6 months. They definitely took off with our money. No promoters or producers should be using this company for ticket sales.
Always the best, helpful, knowledgeable.
TERRIBLE! Used for an event in March 2020. Was promised payment would be made with 10 business days, yet did not. Stopped answering my calls and started using automatic replies to emails. They owe our non-profit $1,700 in ticket sales money. I'm about to submit a small claim and I suggest you all do the same.
Awesome!
Owes our theatre company over $5,000 in ticket sale money.
BPT sold $2500 in tickets for one of our shows and has not paid us since March 2020. I can understand some difficulties through COVID, however, they continue to collect money and continue to NOT pay what they owe to their end-users. Extremely unethical and poorly run organization. Do not use!!!!
