The best steak I have ever eaten, expertly cooked at home by my son in a cast iron skillet. Osprey's Roost Butchery is a great place. It's was a rib eye, 1.5" thick, 1.07 pounds. Go! Get one! Go now! The steak in the picture is seasoned and partially edge cooked. We cut it in strips for presentation.

It is hard to find products with exact ingredient list available, but this butcher has everything on file so you never have to worry about food allergies/intolerances. Very accommodating staff. We had the best Apple Rosemary sausages from there tonight. Delicious! Can not wait to use their beef tomorrow in my stew

When walking through the Hydrostone, we stumbled across this wonderful place and couldn't help but pop in. It is a bit tight for space but they've done an excellent job marking the floor for customers to follow COVID protocol. They also have hand sanitizer right inside the door which doesn't spray all over you like some others- it's the little things we appreciate sometimes! My husband was born and raised in England, and was so excited to see proper English bacon for sale! He's been in Canada - Ontario and NS - for over 10 years and has never seen it available. I'd love to upload a picture but we forgot because we were too excited to eat it. It was absolutely perfect. We also purchased two aged Denver steaks. We had never heard of them before, but they looked delicious. The staff were very knowledgeable about their products and walked us through where the cut is from and the best way to cook it. These steaks were excellent and we would drive the 40 minutes to buy them again. Excited to go back and try other products!!

This is the place to go if you're looking for quality meat that is both ethical and locally produced. These folks know what's up. You can get beef and pork cuts fresh, as well as the yummiest house-made sausages. They also stock frozen meat as well. The staff here know their product and are helpful when you have questions. These folks work hard to serve us good food.

I never knew sausages could be that good! Tasting a animal that had a good life really does transfer into very tender meat. Anyone who thinks its too expensive has to consider the cost of raising these animals in a free and open environment. for literally only a few dollars more you get meat free of hormones etc. I'll probably never get my meat at the grocery store ever again. it's totally totally different. you can actually taste it. Also afterwards their was no upset stomach or gas or indigestion and I ate like 5 links before bed. amazing amazing!! Can't wait to try the rest of it!

They sell excellent steak and sausages. Some fairly unusual cuts of beef. Bit expensive by Halifax standards, but worth it.
