This is the first Google review I have done. I am writing it because- well, after being a carnivore who loves to cook and has bought and sought out the best steaks, bacon, pork, roast and ribs in 20 states and 12 countries these guys are one of the best. Everything I ask for they have and every dumb question I ask they answer in detail with passion and a smile. Yesterday I bought the best bone in short ribs I have ever seen in years of making a mess in the kitchen. And they even have cajun pro rinds. Its worth the drive from Canmore, Airdrie Okotoks and Paris. Enjoy!!!! (ps and they don't gouge you with price)

I highly recommend the Butchery Block. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Their meats are top quality. I went in to purchase a brisket and let Shane know it was my first time cooking a brisket. He was incredibly helpful. He spent 10-15 minutes teaching me how to smoke it and cook it (if something went wrong). He was detailed and tried to give me as much information as possible so I would be successful. Not only was it my first time cooking brisket, but my first time using a smoker too! It came out beautifully! The wind did not cooperate with the smoker, so I called Shane and he told me exactly what to do to complete the process of cooking the brisket. Wow! The rendering of the fat was perfect, the meat was tender and juicy, incredible! Thank you Shane and the rest of the staff at the Butchery Block! You are a local treasure!

We're new to Cochrane and are so happy to have found a friendly local butcher at The Butchery Block. Fantastic English style bacon, great pies, and awesome cuts of meat with lots sourced locally. Definitely will be a repeat customer and highly recommend to anyone looking for a good butcher!

Exceptional service. I dropped the ball on buying bacon-called and they didn’t open till 11am but we’re currently inside prepping. They invited me. Not only did I grab amazing bacon but they also make bacon burgers!!! Amazing pot pies and enchiladas my husband loved. In addition they helped our minor soccer program with a meat fundraiser. Will be back!

Great place, great meat. Shane pulled together a large spread for us on short notice. The pork ribs were unreal, never seen ribs that big. And the rib eye steaks were perfect. Our guests were blown away. The bacon, too - so good. You need to check this place out.
