If you are a fan of a REALLY GOOD dill pickle, Tango's on Denman St is the place to assuage that craving.The brine is my potato salad secret ingredient (well...it was secret). You simply won't find a better dill pickle downtown. The staff is very helpful with dinner suggestions and are just plain nice people! Keep up the good work...5 stars for sure!

The new owners at Tango's are making an effort to keep the quality high and prices reasonable. If you want cheap you always have Safeway or the No frills. I got the best turkey EVER here for Thanksgiving. I was given the option of a healthier, darker "Heritage" turkey and I'm never going back to the run of the mill sort again. Thanks Tango's

True neighbourhood butcher. First class meat and poultry, deli meats, wonderful 'home-made' sausages, frozen meat pies, breads and assorted deli goodies. Not cheap but the quality of their products ate well worth it. Family Ranch owned. We don't go anywhere else.

We've been there twice a week for one year, cause once you start you don't want to go back to supermarket's food. Mainly organic fresh ground beef and chicken. Definitely got to know the whole staff, all professionals and kind like the owner. Like a little window of Alberta's fields just by Robson St! Merci :)

This place is our go-to spot for excellent local meat. The staff are sincerely friendly and genuinely helpful. We usually come here for the frozen Albacore Tuna, which is very good.

Just finished my second bout of food poisoning from Tango's and I've only shopped there probably about 20 or so times. I want to like this place but honestly every time I go, their display looks sloppy and a lot of the meat looks very old. I've never had bad smelling, grissle-y, off colour meat from Famous foods, but every time I get ground beef from Tango's, that's what I receive. I always feel like I'm playing a game of roulette when I walk in there. They have nice enough staff, but I've never understood the hype about this place. Maybe stick to the frozen items?

Even though we know some customers are impossible to please and can always find something wrong!

Top notch service and quality products. You can taste the difference. Prices are reasonable and if too much $$ for you, just eat less meat and don't compromise taste and quality. I don't shop at big chain groceries for my meat products and neither should you!

The meat here is incredible a complete and noticeable difference from your run of the mill grocery store. Not going back to no frills Safeway or even whole foods, not eating the meat anywhere else. The owners are from alberta and have their own cattle farm in cypress hills. It's slightly expensive but you are getting what you paid for.

I just bought two rib eye steaks, cooked them medium rare and they were as hard as shoe soles quite dissatisfying. I’ve been a customer for decades lol, through owner changes, and always with good products and not particularly cheap, but it’s local and I like that. However these steaks really made me mad it was my beef day and it’s all ruined.

I've had some really good experiences at Tango's but also some "off" experiences. It's a kind of hit and miss for staff, there are really the nicest staff working on most days, curly haired lady who is very friendly and some younger kids who are polite and eager to help but on the flip side you might get who I suspect is an owner, a surly older man who glares at you from the rear of the store. I am also a 50/50 on going back due to some chicken I had purchased. It sat in the fridge for one single day, went so rancid it the smell was unbearable. Nothing else spoiled but the chicken so it wasn't the fridge. Since you buy from a counter you don't know when things were opened and put out so asking is a good idea to avoid spoilage. Also try to go in earlier in the day as they start closing at 6:15 - 6:30 and have a lot of meats wrapped up, ready to close the store by 7 on the nose. I give them a solid 3 out of 5 stars because they really do have some nice meats and most of the staff are top notch but the grump and the spoilage knocks off the two stars.

went to cut rite meats and got pork shoulder roast cut in to 1/2" steaks and love the meat it was perfect and went back to get more but jimmy was not there and the lady cut my steaks to an inch witch makes them way to big and the next i told here they were to big and when she cut them they were an inch or more thick so i will not go back there cause customer service is a big thing and when i ask for thinner steaks and she cut thicker

Best meat products in town! OMG all their products taste soooo much better than anywhere else! I've been "keto" or carnivore for many years now and eat grass-fed organic meat almost everyday, so quality is very important to me. They have the best ribeyes, lamb chops, etc!!! Also this amazing grass fed ground beef with a small amount of heart & liver called Vitality Mix ???????????????? Go #teamtango!!! The staff put a smile on my face every time. I haven't met nicer people in places I shop. Very kind and engaging!! They also prepare everything the way I ask with a smile. I can't express enough gratitude for how well they treat their customers ???????????? I've tried to spread my business to other places, but Tango's Meats quality is soooo much better that they get all my business now!!

Excellent service and premium quality beef! They also have some very nice grass fed byproducts like butter and beef tallow. While the prices aren’t cheap, they are worth the product you are receiving and also knowing you’re supporting a local business and farmers. The cured meat seems to mostly be bought, which was disappointing. I used to love buying freshly smoked pepperoni from my butcher back home. The high prices also contributed to the 4/5 stars.

Purchased 5 tenderloins today and BBQ'ed all to medium after letting steaks marinade at room temperature all day. Not quite sure why, but something was odd about them - mildly tough. Again I'm not a steak expert but something was off for being a tenderloin.

I've only purchased steaks here and both times the two ladies behind the counter were friendly and knowledgeable. The high prices, I assume, are because this place sells organic grass fed beef. Can't speak for anything else, yet.

Want to love this place… last Sunday, I bought a 3.5 lb beef roast (at 42 dollars), that looked and tasted nice, but was so marbled with connective tissue that it was like eating a bunch of rubber bands. Almost chocked one of my guests. Not good. Give them a second try?

I wanted to Express my gratitude to Tangos meets. This is the second time buying top sirloin steaks from cross roads market and 2 times my wife and I are extremely impressed. I had a hard time convincing my wife it's worth spending extra money on meat, but after the second set of steaks that are tender and so flavorful, I have her convinced. Since it's cold out, I sear them in my cast iron skillet the 375 for 10 mins to get them med-rare. Your staff at crossroads market was very knowledgeable and helpful. I also bought a chuck roast I will be slow cooking this weekend. Thank you for providing quality grass fed AND finished beef in calgary.

An excellent butcher; great variety of meats and now fish, I’ve only ever had top quality produce from here. Great price especially when you consider it’s local, organic, hormone and antibiotic free. Plus the staff are always so friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend enough as a local butcher.

i have contemplated whether or not to write this review for some time now and cant stop thinking about it and need to get it off my chest.I have been a fan of tangos for some time now and one day while perusing the website i found the farm where i get my favorite steaks was right near my relatives farm in saskatchewan. when i visited this spring i found they are the only grass fed outfit around and after being given directions i decided it would go drive by the farm that produces the best ribeyes around. when i got there i was shocked. the state of the cows was appalling from my truck window i could count the ribs on these starving cattle.calves and what i was told later are yearlings had shoved their way through a fence and were pawing through melting snow to eat grass in the ditch cause it was all they had to eat. later i asked my uncle about it and he said the locals have been joking that the grass fed program "must feed nothing but bad straw and air" i had been so proud of where my beef came from and now im sick to my stomach whenever i think of grass fed beef.

The staff are great and the service has always been excellent. The cuts are inconsistent; I've purchased striploins that have been cut on an angle, so that one end of the steak is 3cm-4cm thick and the other end is but a sliver. Their steaks have too much water (blood, plasma, etc) and this results in a tougher product once cooked. Seems like they just need hang the meat a bit and improve their butchering. Grass fed is the way to go, so I hope this farm-to-butcher op goes all the way and starts consistently delivering a great product.
