We brought in 3 cows for slaughter and packaging, and bought some pork for bacon and to add to sausages. To start, it took far longer than the original estimated time, and even then we only got half our order. The other half didn't come for a few months because they 'lost our phone number'. They never answer their phone, and most of the time the answering machine was full so we couldn't leave a message. The bacon that we received has the hardest, toughest rind I've ever seen. Even the dogs are ripping it off and not eating it. There is still pig hair on the rind and the bacon itself, when you eventually get to it is bland. We are not eating any of the bacon anymore... the dogs will get the rest. The sausages are tough and bland, and while we don't have an ingredient list for them, we are fairly certain that there is nothing but beef, onion and garlic in them. Not even good with ketchup. They will all be added to soups and stews that actually have flavour, and where they can absorb some fluid. The beef itself was good. But really, how can you screw up ground beef when the cow is delivered straight to you? The roasts were puny though, only because they flat out refused to do any roasts bigger than 2 lbs because 'nobody eats more than that!' and 'you would never find a pan big enough to hold it!'. Seriously. While we can't actually prove this, we are fairly certain that we ended up with far less meat than we should have for the 3 cows. And finally, they tried billing us for the beef itself (after billing us for the cutting and wrapping, which was expensive compared to others) even though we brought it in. And tried double billing us for the pork. Never again.

I had two amazing experiences with Richard! We got a beef and a pig from him at two separate times, both times he was amazingly accommodating with pick up times. The product is delish and he always said if we EVER have a problem to bring it back. Price is very reasonable especially when you take into consideration how fresh the product is and its free from nasty dyes. I HIGHLY recommend Richard's Meats to anyone!! I will be going back soon for another order!
