Absolutely great experience. Service was awesome, they walked me through custom processing process and I was able to get some cuts of beef that aren't available at the grocery store. All set up for a summer of grilling and smoking.

They processed a whole beef for me. They killed and hung it for 2+ weeks with explicit instructions to turn over in 2-halves with 4 parts each (round, loin, rib and chuck x2) in 8 large bags. This was confirmed with an email and phone call. We also confirmed a specific pick up day and time. When I arrived at the agreed time, they had forgotten the order. Somehow within a few minutes they were able to hand over 15+ miscellaneous parts. They had no bags and just tossed everything in a huge heap. Further break-down the following day revealed the usual butcher's cuts missing.

Friendly people, helpful and tolerant of me learning my role in the process even though i was only bringing 3 animals this year. The yard giys were competent and helpful as well. On the last turn getting there they have a large trailer clearly marking where to turn in.

I took in 44 Lbs of cut up deer meat and ordered pepperoni sticks and smokies to be made up. I got back a total of 66 Lbs of finished product for just under $200. First off....the packaging it came in, very impressive. The pepperoni just looks VERY aesthetically pleasing. Same length pieces, vac packed...just great. And then the taste!! I had asked for just a hair more spice in the pepperoni and WOW! Soooo good. I'm very impressed with the worker(s) involved with my order. I have not yet tried the smokies, but I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. Thank you, Meat Chop, for doing such great work.

Drove from Red Deer to check out the store and wish I hadn’t wasted the fuel. Very limited stock and unorganized freezers. Looked like leftover cuts were just bagged and tossed in the shelves at random. The lady at the front desk was more concerned with eating her lunch than helping us find anything. When I tried to order up some sausages that weren’t in stock I was told they’d probably take weeks to be done and seemed unsure of price.

Writing this early.. but as it stands.. I can't wait to meet the lady on the other end of the line to see if she is as rude in person as she is on the phone. That is an outstanding lack of customer service skills. Rude. Curt. Speed-talker. She must have her finger waiting on the receiver to disconnect from a call as soon as she possibly can. Same lady I've spoken to twice, and exact same attitude, weeks apart. I'll go back to High River after this.

asked for a full cow to be cut into "primals". the product i received was poorly vaccum packed(50% was loosely packed/not sealed) and entirely de-boned. 533lb cow completely de-boned. extremely dissappointed to see rib and brisket meat in the "trim" bags... positive note, they were accomodating and stayed 20 mins after 5:00pm on a Friday so i could pick up. But it just seems like i paid alot of money for a bunch of roasts basically.

The lady at the front is beyond rude! Today I called in asking about an upcoming meat date and she started yelling at me about how awful her boss is and he cancels peoples orders on them without telling anyone, when I asked her to stop yelling at me she then took the phone and repeatedly hit the cupboard with it before hanging up. Now in true coward fashion she will not answer the phone so we can continue our conversation. We give this place a lot of business but after today, we will look else where's. I hope this company takes a long hard look at their reception. This isn't the first bad experience, but we have just tried to give them multiple chances.....no more.....

Would not recommend. Order was not what we asked for and then recieved a condescending attitude when we called in to ask about it. Was told they are only human and they make mistakes. Spent alot of money on the meat to not get what we asked for. Packaging was also supposed to be vacuum sealed for freezing and at least 20% of the vacuum packaging was loose and we had to redo ourselves. Not impressed to say the least.
