This family run business has been around for a long time because of their fresh outstanding product, super friendly knowledgeable staff , never have to wait for service , the horseradish cheese and cheese smokies are the best I've ever had, stocked up with 10lbs of bacon for our freezer and my pup will be very excited for her frozen pigs ears , this is the best butcher shop in northern Alberta , second to none!!!

I’ve never been a big fan of beef jerky and I now know why......because I never had Hamel’s. I have family in Alberta who helped my wife send a variety of their jerky to our home in Mississauga. Put simply......Hamel’s makes fantastic products. Superb variety of flavours, high quality meat, packaged in resealable packs and shipped fast. We blew through our first order in no time and are currently working away at another order we just received. I won’t buy beef jerky from anyone else and we recommend Hamel’s to all our friends.

Thank you Pat Sawyer!! If it wasn’t for your review of the pickled sausage, I never would have asked my husband to bring home a jar yesterday after he stopped at Hamel’s to get steaks. He got the LAST ONE available yesterday morning. We moved from Cold Lake almost 6 years ago and have really missed their products. The sausage is amazing and I’m waiting for my New York steak to be ready!!

Kids grew up on the Jerky and Tourtiere meat pies, always try to get some if I am coming through. Try the new Bourbon Jerky, you cant beat it. Great staff and owners, small town butcher shop you need to keep supporting.

Based on the great reviews I ordered a large order of jerky that just came yesterday. As soon as I got the Canada Post notification that it was delivered I drove from my cottage to my home and back (7 hours round trip) I can tell you it was worth the drive ... OMG the BEST JERKY I have ever had. I have a lifetime of enjoying beef jerky and years of making it. I can tell you this is the best hands down!! You now have a life long customer in me.

Greg gave us the best customer service experience. I walked in looking for ready to grill hamburgers and he was just making some. He said they would be ready in 20 minutes. I would have come back, but didnt have the time. So he showed me where the frozen ones were, offered to split them apart with his knife. So I went that route. I asked if he had any sliced cheese for them. He said to hand him some blocks and he would slice them for me. He also told me he had 10oz New York steaks on for $5 each so i bought 6. What a great deal. When making the payment he gave me a package of smokies on the house and thanked me for my business. While I wad shopping we struck up a conversation about where I’m from and where I’m working here. Best customer service I think I’ve had in years. I will definitely be coming here to do all my shopping. Well done Greg! And thank you!

This butcher shop makes pickled sausage, they are absolutely incredible and they are the only ones in the province that make them that I know of, I would like to convince the owner to go to Costco and get a contract with them, he would be a millionaire and he would also be doing the world a big favor with their excellent products.
