Old fashioned butcher. All the meat is here, including bison.they lose a star for price. I am shopping for brisket, 21$ kg here. Bens meat is 15$ and Victoria meats is 13$ kg. It's all the same meat. They do cut the meat right up front for you to see.

I was excited to go because I heard they wrap their meat in paper, rather than styrofoam and plastic wrap. The European wieners were placed in a plastic, bag unfortunately, but I bet if I asked real nice next time, they would wrap those for me, too. Now I know to ask ahead! Also the chicken breasts are huge!

Mixed experiences in the few times I've gone there. First was great. Got a nice leg of lamb for an Easter dinner that tasted delicious. The staff were very helpful and the meat was from less than two hours' drive away. Second time not so good. Got a frozen duck, and when I thawed it I found that whoever plucked it did a pretty poor job, so I had to spend an hour with tweezers removing pinfeathers. Not the fault of the butcher, but whoever farmed/dressed this duck needs to improve their plucking skills. I've had more thoroughly dressed poultry from a grocery store. I'm still a fan of Acme though, and can't wait for them to move to the new location across the street.

Ive been dying to try a standing rib roast on the BBQ for a while and I struck out at Costco and Fresons Bros. I heard of Acme online so I decided to try it. The service was excellent. The butcher explain to me the 2-3 bone serving size. It was cool to see them prep the cut right in front of you. I can't compare prices however I knew I was looking for a fairly price cut meat. If you're looking for freshness and quality I would highly recommend Acme. Also go early it bit busy fast!

I ordered a beef brisket for Christmas and I was very disappointed. I paid $90 and the cut I got was very fatty (I ended up cutting off a bunch of fat and throwing it in the garbage) by weight that was probably $20. Then after cooking it (I slow cooked in the oven for 8 hours) it came up super small (more fat had rendered off) and not characteristic of a brisket. I ended up having it be more like a pulled beef. Very disappointing and I am pretty sure the cut I got was not a brisket at all.

Way overpriced and not very cleanly. I watched as the “butcher” weighed raw meat on the scale by the cash register with nothing underneath it. He never wiped it and neither did any of the others. Nearly twice the price for the cuts I wanted than I ended up paying at my own butcher. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Old Country Sausage in Bruderheim, call ahead and they can normally get you what you want. Or if you don’t want to drive far just go to Costco instead of throwing your money away, it’s every bit as “local”.

This the place I would recommend to those looking for the perfect steak. On weekends they have extra staff to ensure a short wait time, and most staff members can help you at the counter-- rather than just one designated clerk. I was once sent here to pickup a steak, with no actual knowledge of steak, but they guided me in the right direction, werent condescending at all, and sent me on my way with one of the most delicious steaks I've ever had. OH and try their beef jerky!! 5 stars for operating like a well-oiled-machine and selling quality products.

Knowledgeable staff, lots of free-range/ etc choices, local company, local meat, supports local farmers. Quality is mind-blowing. It's the only store I've actually enjoyed buying meat from since I stopped being vegan, and they were really helpful and gentle about my transition back to meat. We buy almost all of our grocery meat from Acme. They also carry duck eggs on occasion, great chicken eggs, the best hamburger buns I've tasted in my life, and the tastiest condiments around. Also they are just lovely people.

I have both ordered a freezer pack from Acme meats and gone in to their shop in person to pick up items. Their customer service is amazing and the quality of their meats is outstanding. They are a local Edmonton butcher that has been around for many years. They are well versed and knowledgeable in all cuts of meats and they cater to families of all sizes including packaging for single people. I would highly recommend visiting their shop in the Richie market. You can also stop in and indulge in treats from Duchess Bake Shop and grab a coffee from Transcend while you're there. It's a perfect Saturday morning escape.

Very disappointed in the display and signage. The quality of the meat that I asked for from the display was fine, but as a deaf person I don't want to spend 10 minutes writing back and forth to get what I want, and to see what's available. Get better signage and ample display and maybe I'll come back. Til then, I'm sticking to shops where I can actually see the majority of what is offered - this shop had the worst display I've ever seen in a shop.

I love Acme. It was recommended to me 4 or 5 years ago. I have been a faithful customer ever since. The staff are very friendly polite and helpful. If you don’t see it in the case there’s a chance that they have some of what your looking for in the refrigerator. If not you can order and they’ll have it in a reasonable time. I don’t buy my meat anywhere else and I highly recommend this place to everyone. If you’re not getting your meat at Acme you’re not getting quality LOCAL meat.

Great meat selection. However some of the staff can be quite rude if not downright condescending. When I asked about some pricing I was given a snarky answer almost as if he could not be bothered with my question and finally when I went to pay and did so with cash, he flicked it back at me saying, "no cash allowed on the scale." I'm sorry there is no sign telling customers not to do so and I'm sorry that it just happened to be the only flat surface right next to the cash register. Didn't get the name of the guy behind the counter but when I return I'll definitely be sure to do so and update this.

The meats are always fresh, I am a huge beef and bacon lover and they have the best. The chicken breast are good size for stuffed or cordon blue's. Made in shop sausage's are juicy. They have specials on weekends and take care of their customers. And wow they go with the holidays to get in the mood like to go with Valentine's Day heart steaks every steak lovers dream, and rabbits for Easter. ( if you go for that) lol many more holiday surprises I am sure. Very disappointed yesterday to see your shop closed with 7 or 8 staff standing around, not socially distant, only 2 masked, drinking beverages and visiting. Not only illegal right now, but a very poor showing when most of us are missing our families this Christmas. Duchess and Transcend were still open, there were many people who saw, and were commenting on this inconsiderate act. It doesn’t look good on your own business, but you’re also in the same space as other companies and are putting their companies at risk. I will no longer patron your business, and with such poor COVID regulation following, I will suggest my friends and loved ones don’t as well.

After requesting a few quotes for a fresh Christmas Turkey from a number of different butchers I decided to go with Acme Meat Market. Corey recommended an 18-20lb turkey for my party and for having leftovers the next day. The room was full of experienced home cooks and they all agreed it was the best turkey they had ever had! The turkey was so juicy and tender and had lovely flavour. A fresh turkey from Acme Meat Market is our newest Christmas tradition!

I can say I dislike pork sausage entirely! I did have an order confusion with this company in which they gave me 50 percent of the cuts I never wanted including sausage! Normally I would treat pork sausage as dog food as I find it quite intolerable, but I must say their butcher does a fine job with their pork sausage, both breakfast and Italian style. It is quite palatable to say the least! Their ham and bacon is very tasty as well! So besides an entire confusion with my order they did a surprisingly good job with my order and yes I would recommend them! I was waiting for a quote and order confirmation though but the guy never called me back. Then got a call two months later saying my pig was ready which was confusing but other than that I'm impressed! If you can get your order straight the staff is great. They helped me 100%
