Great pizza. Just moved to the neighbourhood and I'm relieved that the only pizza place within 15 minutes of my home kicks ass!
Margarita pizza by the slice - a win! Crunchy crust, fresh aromatic tomatoes with a drizzle of balsamic. Friendly service. Patio seating????
Delicious Cant Wait To Return Flawless customer service Kaitlynn was phenominal.too
The Bacon Cheddar Pizza is by far the best pizza i've ever had, and the chicken wings are god tier. Highly recommended.
Good family fare
Little hidden gem. Check it out on sat with love music.
Excellent atmosphere nice lighting perfect for a date and nice bar.
Good Place, nice people!
Great pasta and sports bar.
Loved this place !
(Translated) Delicious???? impeccable service! (Original) Delicieux???? service impeccable !
First time trying this restaurant today and I must say that it was absolutely amazing! Appetizers: - regular fries: these blew my mind. Like they were so fresh and perfectly spiced I might never like fries anywhere else again after trying them here - wings (honey/sirachia): these had the perfect balance of spice and flavour. They were also wonderful Mains: - veggie lasagna: it was just purely amazing! Have tried veggie lasagna at many other places but this was definitely one of the best ones! - pesto chicken pasta: perfectly cooked chicken and just the right amount of pesto (some places over do it). The best part for me was that they add olives!!! I love olives and I’ve never had them served in any pasta dish I’ve had before, definitely added 10 stars to the experience The service was also fantastic! Every staff member that I encountered was super welcoming and friendly! I caught a glimpse of their indoor dining area and can’t wait to have the opportunity to go back there and dine inside once it’s safe to do so! ????
We randomly stopped by on our way to Whistler. And we sure did not regret. Seafood chowder there was one of the best we tried ever. It was very rich and flavourful. The rest of the food was great as well. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were very upset that the place was closed on a Thanksgiving Monday when we stopped on our way back. Will come back there again!
Amazing food, service....love the live music on Saturday nights...
i had a great experience here. they have a pretty wide selection of pizza on their menu, and the service here was really fast and friendly.
Never had a bad pizza here, you can see the quality and effort that goes into the craft. Slightly more expensive than the typical run of the mill delivery Pizza but, infinitely better taste! You can also go buy by the slice too which is great for a quick lunch. Dine in is quite pleasant as well!
All around good Italian food from pizza to pasta to meatball subs they do it all. Always stop in for lunch whenever passing through west van.
Good food and service, prompt delivery and consistent
Causal but comfortable place. Good food with reasonable price.
Great
Great food. The chicken parm is our favourite.
Decent Italian place. Servings were kind of small.
Best pasta ever!
Was there for a special event. Food and service were awesome.
Good family restaurant. New school pizzas are great. Staff are super friendly.
I ordered a chicken wrap today and it was finger licking good . No matter what I order its always fresh and tasty.
Food is excellent!
Local family owned, this place is a great option for delicious pizza and beer(other Italian dishes as well). With many kinds of pizza's to choose from and mouth watering appitizers it's a great hangout if you are in the West end of West Vancouver.
Love this place! Amazing food, comfortable and cozy ambience. Love love love their ginger cake with ice cream????????
Had the pork belly and scallops as appetizer which was absolutely amazing. Pork was tender and juicy with a nice crispy fat layer. The scallops had just the right amount of seasoning and were cooked with a simple sear on both sides. As a main I had the pastameli special pizza which followed the great flavours from the app and delivered as expected.
Awesome - as always.
Great staff and some seriously good food!
The waitress was very friendly and accommodating!
Best pizza in Vancouver! Had a few pizzas here and if I’m on the north shore there’s no better. Kids love it to because they all get there own slice.
The pizza I ordered tonight from Pastameli was the worst pizza I have ever eaten. I ordered the Hawaiian ham and pineapple pizza. I couldn't taste any ham or pineapple, just salt. I could swear I tasted celery salt as well. The "tomato" sauce didn't taste of tomatoes, just salt. The crust was burned on the top and bottom, and very tough. I won't order from Pastameli's again, ever. Save your money!
I heard good things about the food and looked forward to it. But, the customer service at this place was not so appetizing????
Wonderful service and food
Well... let`s stop for the minute and let`s talk about this little restaurant. The first thing what I noticed that the place is small but very welcoming. Dimmed lights and some nice (Christmas) decoration made this place more comfortable (good place for date). The second thing what you`ll notice is the service. The girl who served us was just phenomenal! She was kind and helpful... absolutely amazing service. Now the food: Spicy Squid... oh my oh! You must try that! Perfect appetizer! After that I tried the Holiday Pizza! Wow! I mean Wow! There is no words for that! Something I never eat before for sure. My girlfriend tried the Eggplant and that was tasty as well. Also you can pick some nice beers and wines from the collection which is not too wide but well picked (we tried the Riesling and it was perfect). So that was our first time at the Pastameli but I`ll be back for more! Salute to all who works there!
Food nothing to write home about and it's expensive. But it's has a very cozy homey feel. The waitress was very friendly.
Dine in
its overall a very nice restaurant, the food is a bit overpriced but thats west van. really good service during covid.
Customer Service, fresh pizza, quick and simple team work.
AUG 5, 2021 Holy smokes. I've never seen a pizza restaurant improve so dramatically over such a short period of time. This location is now outstanding. I ate in house and had delivery, both in the past month, just to see if it was consistent. It was. The Pizza is quite amazing. My wife said her Margherita Pizza was the best pizza she has ever eaten, and she is usually disappointed almost anywhere we go. My Greek was also outstanding. The edges of the Feta were brown, and crispy, as they should be. The crust is exceptional and the toppings are generous. I'll be eating at this Caulfeild Patsameli all of the time now. 3 YEARS AGO: I can give either a 5 star or a 2 star, depending on who I deal with when there. There are some great people, up front, cooking pizza...some. When I order pizza I cross my fingers that it's a "good night." Sometimes it is the quality of 1980s Raven PIzza, other times it's just damp and sloppy. There is also an awkwardness to the restaurant itself. If you go in during quite times you feel like you've invaded somebody's private space, very strange. It's a shame, really. The outstanding staff members are being eclipsed by the ones who just don't care. This place has potential to consistently be the best pizza on the North Shore, but someone isn't supervising or training with the highest standards in mind.
Locally owned and delicious.
Dirty plates, disinterested service... pizza was fair
Outstanding customer service and delicious meals! I've eaten here almost every week and never get sick of it. The staff are super friendly (especially the tall girl who works the front take out), and I consistently am impressed with how well this restaurant has improved. Such a friendly, comfy, and casual environment for a quick slice of pizza or a nice dinner on a Saturday night. Would 10/10 recommend coming here at least once in your life!
Pasta is ok, pizza is better. Portions are small and its more for the locals, get a unwelcoming vibe.
$40 for six mediocre pizza slices and three drinks and slowish service.
Very yummy and we (me and my boys) had the chicken pesto was outstanding and the pasta was sooo fresh!!
(Translated) Good attention, dishes well served and with good flavor. Delicious pizzas. Good beer (Original) Buena atención, platillos bien servidos y de buen sabor. Las pizzas deliciosas. Buena cerveza
Great Italian restaurant
Great food Great happyhour
A very simple place with good deals on food. It's not the best pizza I ever had but our server was nice and there was a good selection of drinks.
My favourite pizza place on the planet! The vibe is fun and the staff are always upbeat and friendly. Their tropical veggie cauliflower crust pizza is amazing!
I get the party size inferno pizza for my family and we love it every time
One of the best pizzas in town, loved the place with excellent service. Craving to go back!
Cozy and warm experience. This is one of those restaurant that the quality of food and great hospitality and service will bring you back. The food is fresh and tasty, which indicates how much care the kitchen puts into each dish. The service is also great as waiters are fantastically friendly and nice.
I wanted to support a local business, so I ordered pizza from here. First of all, super overpriced. That was the most I ever paid for pizza. The toppings were good, but everything else was disappointing. It reminded of the take home whole food pizza after I over cooked it. Seriously this was so dry and so chewy(the bad kind) that this left me and my family super disappointed. I really wanted to like this, but when I saw my mom put ketchup on the pizza......... The pizza looked nothing like the pictures online, I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that this was mistakenly overcooked. But my family will probably never want me to order from here again. I have no problem paying extra, but it needs to be worth it. This definitely was not.
Service
Very good food and the live music was fantastic. Two piece band with drummer and guitarist. The guitarist was on fire! Live music every Saturday night in a wonderful restaurant that you would never know is there by looking at the entrance. West Vancouver's best secret gem!
Best restaurant staff
I love this place and been coming for over 15 years. Colin and family are the perfect hosts. Even though I now live in Nanoose Bay I always come to Pastamellis when I visit family and make sure I bring them to this happy place to dine. I was disappointed with that those wonderful homemade meatballs were taken off the menu and replaced with prepackaged tiny tasteless previously frozen ones. ???? Even your excellent sauces couldn’t disguise these awful little bites.
Excellent food. Long wait. Service pretty average. But worth the wait.
What a great little place and under new ownership! Great food and west coast style appies. We had our networking function there and service and food was top notch! Atmosphere style in the restaurant area is modern and fits a family night out or a date night easily. Cheers!
friendly staff and very welcoming atmosphere, you'll feel like you are at home. Great place for a date.
Enjoyed food and live music. Waitress was courteous and friendly.
Excellent Pasta Restaurant . And my waitress was very helpful for my Father In-law and I . Plus she was easy to look at . I went with all her opinions .
Dinner
We visit a few times a year and get pizza takeout/delivery several more times each year. Ownership change a while back was a good change - the quality of the food and the experience is improved.
(Translated) Excellent Italian restaurant, pasta and flatbread very good (Original) Exelente restaurante italiano, la pasta y el flatbread buenisimos
I really wanted to like this place my boyfriend comes here with his work all the time and it was honestly just terrible, from the food to the swearing in the kitchen to the poor service and the kitchen staff walking out in flip flops in the restaurant, I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for quite some time now and everything that happened were big no-no’s to me. My veggie burger was so over cooked it just fell apart and crumbled and I couldn’t and didn’t want to eat it, two tables were serviced and had food on their table before us which also wasn’t great I wasn’t intending on waiting 40+ mins for a veggie burger with less than 10 people in the restaurant, I understand that it happens but there shouldn’t be any reason for it, definitely overpaid and had an awful experience here, would not recommend.
Knew I’d have a long wait at the ferry so had originally intended to stop at Subway. Came in to see if I could get something quick to go. Front end staff was super nice and had my S&P chicken Wings done up in a hurry. Definitely a great stop!
This formerly family-run restaurant (now under swanky new management) has always been a bit suspect. Now their kitchen is run by 3 teenagers, so don't expect accuracy or efficiency in your orders.
Great bar
Rib was delicious. Kids pizza was terrible and expensive. Weid moment = the guy who works there making a massage in the waitress ???? ps. Yes. I thought that the type of patting was weird. The domino's pizza is better since this one was very dry and seemed not fresh. Kids like pizza and $8 is not expensive for a good slice (they couldn't eat everything since it was very dry). Thank you!
We really enjoyed our pizza and margarita! Definitely going back soon.
Meal type
Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, delicious pasta.
Great local place for a quick dinner or takeaway. Pizza is always great, other dishes can be great or average but never less than that. Service is always good. Friendly atmosphere. My favorite the inferno pizza, my life loves the spicy chicken burger.
The back ribs were terrific. A gifted chef works here.
Food was good.
Thanks for 30 years of delicious meals
The Margherita pizza with balsamic glaze is fantastic. Its pretty simple but excellent flavors. 10/10 would definitely order it again.
Take away takes forever to be ready but the staff is nice.
EDIT: I returned to the restaurant after reading the owners response to my review. They made me a pizza free of charge, just like they said they would, and I am happy to say they completely redeemed themselves. It was very tasty this time, dripping in cheese, nice and hot, and very saucy. It really says something about the level of customer service here. Everything was handled very professionally, and I will now be a returning customer for sure. This is how you should handle criticism, and I think other establishments could learn something from this. I would highly recommend giving Pastameli's a shot. Original review: Honest pizza review here. I ordered the margharita pizza with extra tomato sauce. I will say with confidence that this was one of the worst pizzas I've ordered and for the price point of $26.25 for a large (which is on the smaller end I might add) is completely unacceptable. I was told a wait time of 25-30 minutes, and I arrived exactly within that time parameter. When I got home, which is less than a 5 minute drive away, the pizza was lukewarm. Some of the slices had near no cheese on them; a margharita pizza is supposed to be dripping in cheese balls. Also there is no way they added extra sauce, as some of the pizza slices were barren and dry. The crust was also very hard, like chewing cardboard. I have just finished choking this down as I hate to waste money, however I debated throwing it out.
Incredible food and wonderful staff.
Chilled out space enjoy some carbs with a drink and watch sports.
Just stopped in to watch game 3 of the final. Great people, good food and cold beer.
Thanks for the friendly service!
The specialty burger is so tasty! Good food good service!!
Horrible food, in these times we try and support he smaller restaurants but what a mistake, should've just gone to cactus and ordered for take out. We ordered the fetuccine alfredo and the three cheese pasta. Both were extremely bland with no taste, no salt or pepper. Paid $40 and to add chicken they wanted $8 each.
Amazing service!!!
Great pizza.
Won't be back. I dont even care if my food tastes good cause i dont want to have to wait 45 minutes for a pizza. Being ignored is just icing on a bad cake. Friday at 6 pm. Coming up on half an hour and I have managed to get a glass of water so far. I am with a party of four and they sat us at a table for 8. Our server has made it here twice in 30 minutes despite running a number of other tables multiple times. I swear I put deodorant on and haven't uttered a foul word.
Previous occasions had ordered pizza to take out - this time saw that there was music at 6pm and came back for dinner. Kaitlyn and Colin were very welcoming. Filet with lobster tail complete with au gratin potatoes and veggies plus sambuca prawns made a great meal for us. A bit of wine and we were up dancing to a couple of regular performers guitar and everything else. Superb - we'll be back soon!!
A HUGE letdown! Came for the prime rib, left disappointed. We have visited many times before and had always enjoyed the experience. This time we waited over 40 min to get our meal. We were informed that they ran out of yorshire pudding, and we settled for a replacement of garlic bread. Once we finally got our food, the portions were dreadfully small and came without the substitute of garlic bread. We were checked on only once throughout the meal and had to get the servers attention for a refill. All in all, I don't think I'd be back given the high price point which did not reflect the service or portion size. Ps: yorshire pudding takes roughly 10 min to mix and 30 min to cook. Couldn't this have been made during our 40 min wait??
I live in Whistler. It's a great place to grab a decent slice of pizza on the way through from Vancouver. Close to the highway, a grocery store and a Starbucks its right there too.
Great food, awesome service!
Very good food and excellent service
Best pizza in all of West Van. Nobody comes close
Amazing place! The the service is great, the staff is super friendly and the food and drinks are awesome. Great place for a nice dinner, or to post up at the bar for some tasty cocktails and appetizers.
(Translated) It has a petio, and it's a great place to eat before heading out to see the West Vancouver side attractions. (Original) 페티오도있고 웨스트벤쿠버쪽 볼거리 구경하러가기 전 식사 하기 좋은곳이에요
Overpriced, not worth it
Tried their takeout pizza a few times now and its always super dry, crust is too cooked and more like burnt toast and overall just not great to go slices of pizza.
The food is fabulous and the service was excellent. The seating is limited so come off peak or get it to go!
Pleasant service & good food as always.
Food and service was amazing nice little gem, can't wait to go back!
We had the chowder and it was delicious
Stopped by on our way from the ferries to try some local cuisine. Tried the chef special appie and it was delicious! Our server Kaitlynn was also amazing. She was attentive and super friendly, made us feel extremely comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed! Our entire experience was 10/10. Will be going back the next time we stop through town.
Great service delicious burgers
The slices are great. The restaurant service was not. The restaurant food was ok
Great casual Italian food. Easy going and enjoyable.
Great pizzas. They have a great special if you eat in!!
Good
Gruesomely overpriced for the quality AND quantity of food served from the menu. Tortellini were decent, but the so called "whole" portion should definitely be larger than fitting into the palm of my hand for $22 price tag (for take-out). Potentially decent pesto chicken pasta was dominated by overflowing amount of olive oil and due to that became inedible. Pizzas displayed in the window were unmarked (that shouldn't be too much of a task, specially that most of the traffic these days is walk-in) and we had to ask for the clarification of the ingredients for most of them, that had veggies and/or various meats on them. We asked for a cajun-chicken one, which was the last slice on the tray, and got one with corn and bacon only! Nothing like what we saw in the window when ordering. With the tip the bill ended up to $77 for two miserable portions of pasta, 4 slices (2 per portion) of pizza and 3 bottles of flavoured sparkling water. I've been to NYC many times, ate well and not so much, but this name puts a stain on anything New York. Sorry, this customer and two other people who ate with me will not be returning customers, although we live and hike in the area.
Pretty nice food, I liked it.
Pizza is only so so
Excellent food & service
Pizzzzzzzzzza sooooooooo goooooooood
The service for lunch is horrendous. I had the worst waitress ever. I called and complained and they didn't care at all. It was my friend's birthday and I was so embarrassed. The food used to be better.
Good Service, Great Food.
Best in town!
Please read carefully; 25$ for a take out pop & pasta dish that bairly covers the bottom. This after I told them the pasta was a "little light" twice, last time. The food is great and I would rate a two star for only how ticked I was (hangry lol) but I'm craving it again this evening. I don't mind paying but make sure the dish is full in future please. Will be back for sure as it really good pasta & freindly staff. Continued success. Ps just a little note there is a little place on hastings that makes all their pasta and for 25$ I can feed myself for three meals! But it's not in West Van.
We were looking for a different North Shore dining experience than our usual Lower Lonsdale spots. We felt like Italian and decided to check out Pastamelli's and we both had an awesome experience. Once there, we were sat quickly. There was live music, people dancing and a really good and busy vibe. Ordered a bottle of Malbec and a few appies and split a main course. The seafood pasta in a spicy tomato cream sauce was especially delicious. Our waitress Kaitlynn was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Our glasses were always full and never felt like we were waiting for anything. The owner/operator also popped by to make sure we were happy and was a very friendly guy. Refreshing to dine in a family run restaurant.
Good pizza nice friendly staff
Our salad was kind of rotten and the pizza very very burned.
Pastameli's has amazing food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. I suggest trying the spicy seafood penne, scallop & spinach salad and the lasagna! Those are my faves :)
Great quality, reasonable price. A well known local business in Caulfield area.
Great classic pizza and great service
Good Pizza.
Absolutely amazing! Colin and Kim and their amazing staff have taken this little pasta joint (I worked their 20 years ago) and made it a top notch 5 star restaurant! Great food, amazing atmosphere, friendliest hospitality and owners that truly care make this restaurant a must go to destination! First restaurant I've ever written a recommendation for.... That's how good it is!
A unique experience brought to you by the staff
Hidden Gem! Service and food is on another level.
Awesome flatbreads. Will be going back here
Just moved to BC and so far they have the best proper pizza yet. Loved the atmosphere and service too!
Food was delicious. If in the area again, will differently go.
Great as ever...
One of the best meals we've ever had. Good prices and friendly staff
Nice lasagna, but I should of had the full surviving. Excellent cheesecake too.
Excellent food and awesome servers. They are like your guardian angels. Love the food and live music on weekends I highly recommend
I came here with some friends after a day at the lake hoping to get a nice plate of pasta. Instead everything was insanely overpriced and the portions were way off. On top of that the service wasn't good at all. Because we can in a large group I understand that there was a mandatory 18% tip, however when we left to pay I was asked if I was leaving an extra tip after already paying $36 for a below average plate of pasta and salad. My friend paid $17 dollars for what they and called a full portion Cesar salad. The place was also not very clean with a bunch of flies on the wall. Over all I would not recommend this place. I got out to eat quite often and do not believe you need to spend this much on yourself for nice meal. There are plenty of other places you can go out to eat around the city for half the price, and have a much better experience.
If you like pizza, try this place and prepare to be amazed. I always get the holiday special and I love the yam and Turkey and cranberries! Crazy awesome. Friendly people for the most part... Only had 1 bad experience here and it was unrelated to the food quality.
We ate here two nights in a row while having a weekend away in West Van. Amazing food (we both had different pasta each night and both thoroughly enjoyed what we had), but what really made it for us was the service and the staff - everyone was so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel like we were regulars! We'll definitely go back next time we're on the North Shore!
Good food and service. Bar service lacked several posted brands which resulted in only three stars.
