The Voyager is a favorite haunt of my husband and mine. I personally love the coconut shrimp and my husband loves the scallops or the fish and chips. The variety of food offered here is wonderful and you can’t beat the ambiance or view. Highly recommend.

Wonderful service...Marvelous Food.. and atmosphere real nice!! Saw 4 freighters while there ,passing by. Prices are very reasonable ..!!

My food was tasty. I was with 4 other people who all had broccoli as their veggie. Every bodies broccoli was cold when served. Had to be taken back. When served a refill on my coffee, it was colder than room temperature. Not good. All of the different entrees were really tasty and hot according to the others in the party. Service was nothing special. Probably will visit other side or restaurant next time

Brian Hadfield

Really enjoyed the perch. Great service also.

David Van Coillie

Covid scary. No social distancing in the bar which was packed shoulder to shoulder. Finally went to a hightop to get some distance. Owner and bartender often had their masks under their chin. Won't be back anytime soon which is a shame because I really liked the restaurant but I am very high risk and can't take the chance

Beautiful view of the St. Claire River. They accommodated our large Sunday School class and put out a tasty buffet selection. Food was good for buffet style! I would love to go vack and try regular menu items. Live music as I recall, could not hear from our closed off room.

Would not recommend this place for a meal. Had dinner on Friday 6/21/2019 ordered one of their specials - that included crab cakes, 6 shrimp and lake perch. The crab cakes were stone cold, the shrimp were very very small and dried out and the perch was burnt. The server a young man delivered the food and we didn't see him again for 15 minutes. It was clear this young man had no interest in being there or working. When he did show up I explained the issues with the food and he did offer to have the meal redone and I refused. The other person I was with was just about done eating, 15 minutes is too long to wait for a return after delivering an order. Would not recommend this restaurant.

It was such a peaceful beautiful day. Sat out on the deck and just watched the boats go by and listen to the seagulls everything was so picturesque. Took a video and some pictures of the barge that floated by. Nice staff very helpful. Even turn the music down when I asked because they had it a little too loud. I will definitely come back to this place.

Very disappointing dinner. The French Onion soup was bland and tasteless and it looked like the cheese was microwaved and not really baked. My baked potato was the size of a tennis ball and had more artificial bacon pieces and scallions than potato. The asparagus was over cooked and bland and the main event, the prime rib was tough and had no flavor. All of the food was barely warm and the prime rib was cold before it was half way done. Over all the dinner was tasteless and cold and not worth the cost at any price.

Andrea Goss

Staff was friendly and helpful for a baby shower I attended. I had grilled chicken, baked potato (gluten free friendly) was overcooked and dry. however the guests that received the baked red skin potatoes and Chicken Kiev said it was delicious.

Wanted the famous rib eye steak. "Sorry menu is limited on weekends and the kitchen is backed up. Got our salad...one slice of tomatoe, 2 slices of cuke and a little lettuce. Wife went to the ladies room as I went for a smoke. Figured we had plenty of time since the kitchen was backed up. Came back and the table was cleared and cleaned. Our drinks and bread gone. Gloria replaced our drinks promptly she was a good waitress. When dinner finally arrived my wife was treated like a goddess. She got burnt offerings. Never order a well done strip steak. My medium rare was very well done and only partially burned. Will maybe give them a second chance but not this year. Totally unacceptable experience and they should be ashamed. Great way to celebrate wedding anniversary , I walked a way disappointed.

It was a pretty miserable experience. It took a long time for someone to come to our table. The service was mediocre. The crab cakes were frozen not fresh and had little taste. I asked for my perch to be sautéed, but it was deep fried. Great view but we will not be going back again.

Will Pauly

Didn’t even make it to our table tonight!!! The 14 year old host was so rude add playing on his phone when we arrived. We got there at 8:50 after calling about 15 minutes earlier and told to come down when requesting a reservation. When we arrived host …. Same person that said come down… said let me see if kitchen is closed?? Before walking away we said you just talked to us! He came back and was very dumb founded maybe on something ridolin, heroin, I don’t know very rude. Then the manager just laughed it off. They weren’t even busy! I guess when we pulled up and saw it was a fine dining/ sports bar/ bowling alley we should have known better!! I hope the young gentleman gets his prescription modified!

Voyageur is a classic American restaurant. Big menu, piano player by the bar, scenic views along the river. They have an extensive seafood list. Met the owner, he and my husband were talking about cars. The prices are very reasonable and the wait staff was very courteous. We sat outside on a late summer day and watched the sky change colors again and again as the sun set behind us. Voyageur is not trendy and the patrons have probably been coming there for decades. However, they know what they are doing and run a lovely restaurant. This is not foodie heaven, but I KNOW my in-laws would absolutely be thrilled by this place.

I went to the voyageur for my birthday dinner. It was my first meal there and i enjoyed every bite. We got our drinks delivered faster than i thought possible. The ribeye and prime rib, crab cakes and soup were all top notch by my standards. Service was excellent. You pay a premium price for premium food and service, par for the food industry. I will be back, thanks for the great first impression guys!

Dined here recently with family and a great evening at this classic, moderately-upscale restaurant. My Cajun shrimp was cooked perfectly, preceded by a healthy bowl of coleslaw which had a perfect balance between flavor and texture. The food was solid the whole way around the table all the while being served by our friendly, attentive waitress. The ambience is a touch old fashioned but I enjoyed the unique, local flair. Fantastic spot to experience the local vibe and enjoy the panoramic view of the St. Clair River. All this and the prices were very reasonable; great value!

Beautiful views, but honestly the meal was not to die for. Our waiter was very nice, the bartender was rude. The hostess was rude. The crab legs were not fresh and the steak was bland. Priced like it's a much nicer restaurant than it is.

Jenna Wolf

Good food, reasonable prices. Great selection of desserts. The best thing about this place though is that you can see the river from anywhere in the restaurant. It was too cold on our visit to be outside, but there is a nice boardwalk along the river. The scenery is beautiful. We were going to bowl, but there were no open lanes. Reservations recommended. Apparently the Voyageur staff and mgt believe the pandemic is over or they are under a bubble or they just don't care. Absolutely disgusted by the operations tonight and how EXTREMELY RUDELY I was treated, mostly by the bartender, a woman around 60ish with blonde hair. Though the senior citizen manager dismissed my concerns as well. Such a 180 degree turn because I had an absolutely wonderful experience here about a month ago on the patio. Tonight, however, it was like an entirely different restaurant! After spending the day at the beach, I was really looking forward to stopping here for a nice dinner as last time. I arrived around 6:30pm and there was no outdoor seating left but the bar was pretty empty with only 4 people so I chose to sit there. Ordered my dinner and a drink, ate my salad, and people began piling in. They seated ALL tables!! Not just 50% like the current state order requires. And the bar was filling up EVERY SEAT as well!! 2 women wanted to sit right next to me and another on my other side. I told one politely that I did not want anyone next to me. THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PROTOCOL, Social Distancing, empty seats in-between related parties! Not here, they were allowing the WHOLE BAR to fill up, along with the WHOLE restaurant. All tables full, people close together without masks. Bartender was wearing her mask below her chin the entire time, as was the MANAGER!! Only 3 other wait staff and the young host were wearing their masks properly. Therefore, I told the mgr I didn't feel safe and needed to leave, would take my food ToGo. The RUDE bartender came back with my ToGo box, yanked away my bread basket in a huff, and practically tossed my box at me (without plasticware), saying, "You're done. You can leave now. We're not charging you." NEVER, have I EVER been treated SO BADLY by a restaurant staff! I took the box and left, being made to feel *I'D* done something wrong instead of them not following the pandemic protocols. I opened my box by the way and my "shrimp scampi" were lukewarm on 2 sticks, unseasoned, with a plastic ramekin of butter over rice. Ended up tossing the dinner. What an unfortunate ending to such a lovely day. Will not return.

A nice, solidly reassuring sort of place. Decent food and good service. Decidedly un-hip and unpretentious. It's mainly a hang out of the Boomer set... but nothing wrong with that. Service was less that good...wait staff standoffish. We had a dinner party for 20 and it took 35 minutes after all the guests to arrive to be given rolls. They served their salmon with ranch dressing on it instead of putting the stuff in a small cup or dish. The mashed potatoes were made from instant mashed potatoes and there was NO GRAVY. The mixed vegetables (green beans, onions, and red, yell and orange peppers were either freezer burnt or microwaved as they were all wrinkly. Twice the coffee that was served was cold. I could overlook some small things if they were busy, however, this was a Saturday afternoon and there were only 9 other people in the restaurant. It was a disaster. Extremely poor service. Had to ask for silverware and plates for our appetizers. Had to ask for the bread basket twice that the server offered when we placed our order. I ordered a shrimp pasta and was given chicken. My wife's green beans were so fresh they were nearly raw. My daughter and son in law never got their vegetable. Finally when the server took my daughter's plate to box her leftovers, the plate was dropped and broke. I've been eating out for 50 years and this business is a joke. My friend ordered a chicken dish, the chicken was way over done and dry, it had obviously been sitting in a warmer window for a while. The lemon caper sauce was just okay. We went for lunch/dinner yesterday we were there when it wasn't busy. I know it was the 4th but the menu was tiny. My husband got the ribs and they were way over cooked, my son got the chicken tenders and said they were way to hard to even get a piece off. I got the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad and the chicken was dry and tasteless. The best part of the meal was the water. Our service was not the best you could tell the waitress didn't really care for us because we just ordered waters but we would have been outside for the rest of the day in the sun, water was the best choice for us. But she took about 20 minutes to come take our meal order while waiting one the other family more then us We waited about another 30 mins for the boxs and bill. Just not an enjoyable dinner.

I was there on Sunday, June 13th with two good friends. We were sitting on the Patio. Unfortunately it was very cool in the area where we were seated. I asked to move to a vacant table in the sun. The waitress said NO! Without any explanation. Once I asked her Why? She said that I would have to go back inside and discuss moving to a different table with the Hostess. We were eventually moved to a different table. Then once the food arrived, we had to ask for silverware, napkins and warm bread with our meal. And to top it off, the food was just OK. Me and my friends will not return!

Our meals were hit or miss. We were a party of 12. We've been here before & really enjoyed ourselves. This time the rib eye was over cooked and the white fish was overcooked too. My scallops were under cooked. Martha did a fantastic job handeling our group & was efficient.

Marie and the staff were fantastic. They were slammed reservation only. Car broke down yet they took us in for a great meal and drinks while waiting 3 hours for tow truck.

Waited an hour for a club and chicken sandwich and was cold. You would think the management would make it right??? Nope but they had no problem charging me almost $8.00 for 2 Pepsi's!!!! Horrible service!!! Won't be back.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants to come to. I have been coming here with my family every Fathers Day fro the past 10 years. Never had an issue until this past Father's day. We arrive and ask for a table for 3. We were told that they are only seating people with reservations today. We will have to leave. This was at 3:00pm and a quick look in the dining room showed only a few tables with customers. Maybe only 10%. I have never had to make reservations on other Father's Day's. Very disappointed and will probably never come back.

Went on 9/25 for early dinner. Was a little disappointed in limited menu. Told next weekend will be back. Pat our waitress was extraordinary. Thanks, Pat! She made the meal perfect. Don't get to the area very often but when I do, always make it to the Voyageur.

We had company in from overseas and wanted a nice dinner and great staff with a casual scenic experience. The Voyageur filled that desire perfectly. We were greeted friendly and seated immediately. Our waitress Heather was at the top of her game. She was very friendly and attentive at all times to our party of 4. She should be considered for a head waitress position if she isn't already one. Our food which included perch, prime rib and fettuccine as as dinner and oysters, crab cakes and pickerel fingers as appetizers tasted great and was cooked to perfection. The restaurant was clean, comfortable and had a perfect scenic view. We were very happy from beginning to end and definitely will return.

It could have been better it was our first time here we had reservations for 9 and after our drinks came the manager told our table that we won't get any food they are understaffed so we left and visited McMurphys and it was great

We just left the Voyager. We have been coming here for my birthday every summer. I always have the same thing, red skin potatoes, salad, and your filet medium well. It has always been perfect. Tonight it was the worst meal I have ever had. The steak was cut into 3 sections, very well done, dry. I ate about 3 bites of it. That was all I could handle. The potatoes were mostly uncooked completely. I ate about 1/2 of them. The waitress came by our table to see if everything was ok. I told her about the steak and she said she would talk to her boss. She came back a short time later and said he told her to cook my steak well done he had to cut it into 3 pieces. I told her medium well does not get burned on the outside and is not dry like this one. She went back to the kitchen again and then came out and offered me a dessert. I said no thank you. I don’t think this was the correct way to handle things. All the other times we have been there were great. It was a pretty expensive raw potatoes and salad dinner. This was suppose to be another great birthday but it was not. We had been looking forward all day to coming there for dinner. I guess I should also tell you that when we got our food it was not like it had just been cooked. Hardly warm. I have a feeling that it must have sat somewhere cooling down. We will not be back. HAPPY 77th BIRTHDAY TO ME.

It's more about the atmosphere then the food. Or maybe we went at a bad time. We went Sunday around 4pm. Their caesar salad was just okay it was a $15 salad and for that much money the lettuce should be crisp and not drowning in dressing. The plate should be cold too and it wasnt. The French fries tasted like fried fish which was another meal that was ordered at our table. They ran out of several items on the menu that had to be substituted. It was nice seeing the large boats go by though.

My dad came in from AZ and we decided to bring the family out and try the food here for the first time. We arrived at the restaurant told the host we had 5 people in our party and we were turned away for not having a reservation. Mind you, absolutely NOWHERE is it posted that you need a reservation to eat here. Not posted on the door, not posted on the website and no one ever answers the phone. Plus on top of it, there were multiple open tables and plenty of space for us to sit. So needless to say we never even got to try the food. And we most likely never will now.

Food was good. Service slow, after being seated, 3 more groups came in and were waited on before we even got our water. Also most staff was unmasked. I felt uncomfortable, I don't believe they were all vaccinated. Probably will not be back.

It's right on the St. Clair River in St. Clair. They have good food. I love the sea scallops! They also need to put the apple pork chop back on the menu. There fresh bread comes out nice and warm. This visit we watched the ice chunks floating down the river. We also love to come on the 4th of July, for a front roll seat and BBQ!

Was there last Sunday to pick up a carry-out. Food was excellent but employees were either not wearing a mask or had it pulled under their chin. The lady who brought my food was wearing a mask. When I told her I noticed most employees were not wearing a mask, she did not respond, just handed me my food.

Great location with very nice views of the St. Clair River. You have a choice of eating in the bar or finer dining in the restaurant on the St Clair River. The food is always good and the staff is friendly and fast. You can also bring the family they have fun in the bowling alley or schedule a time for a private party. One of the many great spots in St Clair to visit.

First time here, been wanting to try it for years. Sadly, it was not a good dining experience palate wise. Maybe a new chef? Husband ordered prime rib, with shrimp and French Onion soup. I ordered chicken marsala and chicken tortilla soup. My Husband's soup was flat, used Swiss cheese to bake on top, just ok. His prime rib, they brought with a Serrated steak knife ( first clue) the baked potato( ordered with butter only) arrived with no butter- maybe because we had butter pats on the table? Back to the prime rib, it was steak, had to cut it like a steak with the serrated knife provided. It was a good tasting steak but not a very good prime rib. He ordered mushrooms and onions to accompany it. He took them off because the garlic used to cook with them was burned and over powered the flavor experience. We were still charged the 2.00 for the mushrooms & onions. The shrimp kabob was supposed to be seared, it was cold. As for my Marsala- 3 bites in, it had to go back. Very soupy. The marsala flavor was good, chicken was good, however, they must have cooked the mushrooms with my husbands because the garlic flavor you got was burned and so were my mushrooms, had a scorched taste and because it was so soupy, I couldn't pick around them. I had to send back. They offered me something else but my Husband was eating his food - we wanted to eat together. Hoping it was just a bad night for the person in the kitchen. No manager ever came out either, which is just poor business on their part. We didn't want anything for nothing and paid our bill, but an apology from a manager and to listen openly about things that could be better goes a long way and maybe this post would not have been written. We were one of 2 couples in there at this point in time, not like it was a busy Sunday afternoon, we did ask waitress upon leaving to convey our concerns to management. The service was good, that was about it.

I have had great food in the past. This meal was not so great. Frog legs were rubbery, Redskins tasted reheated and the asparagus was cold. There was only about 10 people dining, so attention to detail on these meals should have been easy. I don't think I will return.

The restaurant has worked hard to keep prices affordable. While still serving quality cuts of meat, the side dishes were less optimal. The rolls were salty, my French onion soup had sandwich bread in it (when mini baguettes were sitting right in front of me. tsk, Tsk), and my red potato mash looked and tasted suspiciously like instant potato mix. The view is still spectacular.

Sarah is the best waitress that has ever graced God's green earth. You will never see her with a pad of paper of any sort of doubt as to what you ordered. If half as many people in this country put forth this effort for their job we would be the envy of the world. That's not even bringing up the amazing menu....

Really good food! I had the Chicken Marsala which was excellent. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips and both of us agreed the fish was amazing! Wow! You know me, with fish, its all about the tartar sauce. But, although theirs was not my favorite (too much lemon), this fish needed NOTHING. The breading (not too thick) was amazing and kept its crunch to the last bite. We'll be back!

Mike's Voyageur is a great restaurant. The food is outstanding, the service is as well, and the view of the river is gorgeous. I highly recommend coming here. I have been here many times just to have a good dinner, and have had a couple of private parties here. Mike is a great owner and cares about his restaurant. I have never had an issue at the restaurant and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years.
