Best. Sushi. Ever.

Cleo

Fresh food and cozy place. The wait can be long.

We went to this place specifically because they advertised the fact that they used real Wasabi, not the fake horseradish stuff. We were willing to pay the higher prices for what appeared to be higher quality food with the hopes that we would get to try this special delicacy. We were we ordered and only after we ordered and had began drinking or drinks did the waitress tell us that they were out of the real wasabi. By this time it was at the end of the day, we were tired, and we really needed something to eat. We were all very frustrated and some of us just wanted to get up and leave, but we decided to stay and eat. The sushi was average, it was nothing special, we've been to many other places with similar if not better food. The only reason to go to this place would be to try real wasabi, but apparently you have to call ahead to make sure that they have it in stock.

Very good food. But annoying opening hours. Also just rolls at lunch time. They are often full or out of fish early (even for take outs).

Doug Morash

Absolutely amazing.....So fresh....Some of the best Japanese food i have had.

Bhyn Villarosa

Good sushi place. Green tea ice cream superb. Sable fish oh so good and locally sourced ingredients.

Amanda B

Local, fresh as you can get ingredients. Care and attention taken to the food and great service. The rolls are not drenched in sauces etc to hide things, this is about highlighting real ingredients that are available from the ocean you are overlooking. Prices are good considering they reflect the fact that local and sustainably fished seafood is available.

Chiara Falorni

Love this little joint. It’s located inside a store, it overlooks cow bay marina and it delivers excellent food. It’s small and cozy. The choices aren’t infinite but damn they are delicious. Mostly locally sourced and prepared so well.

Jilda Farias

Yummmmm! Impeccable rolls with quality seafood.

Claudia Stewart

This is a favorite place. The seafood is the fresh and sustainable, the service is good and friendly to all ages, the chef is knowledgeable, and you get to look out over the harbour! A great place for sushi and Japanese food.

kenny yu

The best Japanese restaurant in Prince Rupert ! Their highlight is the black cod which is a good value .

Truly an exceptional place. I've been lucky enough to eat sushi all over the world and Fukasaku is easily in my top 3. I love the focus on local ingredients and sustainability. An absolute gem and I can't wait to return.

Julien Nargeot

The fish was really good, so was the home made wasabi. Amazing restaurant.

I was told to go here by a foodie friend in Vancouver and it did not disappoint! Came for lunch at 2:20, they close at 3 and reopen later for dinner. We ordered and stayed till 3:30. Very welcoming, friendly local owners. The place is inside a general store/ gift shop. You walk thru and find it near the windows overlooking the pier. Very nice. Ok the sushi melted in your mouth. Wonderful freshly rolled rice. I enjoyed the mangofishus & the spicy tuna rolls. It was all fabulous! I'll be back.

Dai has made this place a go to in Prince Rupert. The ingredients are local (you can see the scallop farm!) The fish is fresh and the presentation is superb. Pre order the omakase. You won't be disappointed.

Judith

Caroline Marshall

So fresh, beautiful view of the harbor and water. Extremely reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Kimmy C

The Trio Salad is amazing! Follow that up with a steaming bowl of Ramen soup and enjoy the view. Read the reference on the menu about their home made wasabi. It made me grin. :) The sushi is fresh and tasty. …

Evy van Nobelen

Best sashimi ever! Very fresh and the fish just melts in my mouth. Great sushi too.

Adrian Batho

Wonderful sushi with a bounty of local offerings. The sashimi was amazing and the great presentation was surprisingly improved by the simple act of providing real wasabi. The entire meal was well waited and the location is very comfortable in an intimate space.

Daniel AJ Sokolov

Quality food, and very friendly service. Arigato!

TwentyTony Podcast

Cynthia Chan

What a gem of a place. The best food, hands down, that we've had in Prince Rupert. I'm from Vancouver and this would rival the best Japanese food there easily. Insanely fresh, melt in your mouth fish. We had the sushi and sashimi platter …

Kyla Ragan

Marko Kessler

Best sushi restaurant in town.

Chrystopher Thompson

It's December 29th and I just ate the best meal I've had all year tonight at Fukusaku.

jo arc

I wasn't blown away in fact, I found it quite bland and as such, pricey. But the Ginger Creme Brulee SO GOOD. Service was also good. View of the Cow Bay Marina is nice too if you can snag a window seat. Small place.

s yone

Fresh tasty Sushi and Excellent Creative Ramen!

S WD

Lovely location. The gift shop is worth a wander too. The prices of the sushi are quite high. We were left hungry even after a $50 bill! $2.00 per person for green tea?!? Yikes! Yes the fish is fresh and it tasted great however the portions were quite small. Enjoy as a treat but be prepared to pay!

Camille MacDonald

INCREDIBLE! One of the best meals of my life. I can't recommend it any more highly. This is an absolute must; a true gem of Prince Rupert!!!

Emily Mount

Not the best sushi I’ve ever had but not bad for Prince Rupert!

Bruce MacNeil

Seriously fabulous. Likely the best meal we have had in a month. Perfect prix fix. Delicious soup. Perfect service. Outstanding in every way. Top notch.

Eri Dee

We came here on Thanksgiving weekend. I wasn't really in the mood for sushi, but once I tried it I just kept ordering. Delicious, fresh and authentic. It's a little gem in the north-west, very happy this have this place nearby.

Lance Brown

Amazing food. Had the miso black cod for lunch and went back for dinner and had the sashimi and sushi sampler. Incredibly fresh and tasty.

David Best

Prices are on par with any good sushi restaurant, but the food is absolutely incredible. All of the fish on the menu is prepared from local catch, so it's a little more limited in selection than some places, but the flavor more than makes up for it. I would especially recommend anything with shrimp, since it's the first time I've actually had raw shrimp included in sushi.

Warren Devorkin

Probably the best sushi I have ever ate!

Chihaya Ayase

Excellent food and service. Not a lot of variety for the lunch time menu. Also, very few staff made the wait time longer.

Alana Margot

Ordered the Omasake or testing menu created by the chef. It was absolutely stunningly and artfully created. They were able to accomodate gluten free for this as well. It was a wonderful experience and we plan to visit Fukasaku again.

ron GAUDRY

Fantastic food, wonderful plating. It was a real pleasure to eat here and the pricing was quite reasonable considering that the fish was sustainably sourced. Definitely will go back again.

jérôme Duguet

Very good and innovative sushis. Staff really nice and thoughtful. We recommand the restaurant warmly, especially for the spicy shrimps and the ones with mushroom.

Chris Hinks

Fantastic food, great staff

acasavant 87

So yummy and fresh! The prices are very reasonable and service was great. I also like that they source mostly local seafood. The menu is laid out very nicely and they have great gluten free options. My friend was so happy that they even had gluten free soy sauce! :)

Barbara Gaudry

Good prices. Nice food and great service

Olivier Giroux-ayotte

Good service, amazing spot but not exactly my favorites sushis.

Douglas Wilkinson

One of the best places to eat when you're in Prince Rupert I look forward to always going there. Whenever I'm working up there and stay in Prince Rupert for weeks at a time it's my go-to restaurant at least three to four times a week
