Horrible customer service! The front desk lady gave us wrong information that wasted one hour of our time. Although she was apologetic and willing to compensate us, her co-worker (a big dude- probably her manager) told her to not to do so and refused to fulfill their promise. I did not enjoy the games as well. Bad experience overall and will I will not recommend this place.
I really was desapointed. Paid 149.99$ plus tx for 4 kids, stayed about 2 1/2 hour, they enjoyed although 9 arcade games where out of service. Hard To win tickets...staff was really Nice and food inexpensive and great.
Always a great place to entertain the kids! No reservations were needed so expect to have a lot of people. They added hand sanitizer stations. Restaurant still operating. Wings & quasadillas were good. Need to improve the bathrooms. Men bathroom didn’t have any soap and was dirty. Women bathroom had 4 bottles of soap but some of the stalls were pretty dirty. maybe they were short staff I don’t know. It is still a nice place to go. ????????
Funhaven is a great place for the kids. Some fun to be had for adults as well. There is a "rollercoaster", which is interesting. Laser tag is decent considering, there's bumper cars, rock climbing wall, large play area and some other stuff. The rows of game machines nearly guarantee a visit to the bank for that second mortgage... But the kids have fun. And there is comfortable seating for the adults. Worth a visit. If you go a lot, their annual pass looks like a decent deal.
Great staff. Prices seemed decent. Gave my 5 year old daughter 2 hours of entertainment. Location isn't great tho. Have to plan your trip according to the time to avoid the rush hour traffic at that end of the city.
Lots of fun. Went with several twenty-somethings.
I am not one to complain especially during Covid but unfortunately it was a terrible experience for our family. We arrived and was told we had to check in and we would have to wait because they were full. 1 1/2 hours later we finally got in. This was not the issue for me, the issue was we witnessed many other people just walk in without the staff ever noticing.
I hosted my kids birthday here , and the service was fantastic Kevin who was our coordinator was amazing. Food was okay but Kevin made it special for my daughter thanks again! We will be back
Great jungle gym to let the kids run around. Roller coaster looks fun. Food way over priced.
I took my daughter for her eighth birthday. To quote her "it was the best birthday ever!" We had a great time. There is a variety of attractions and we did them all. The escape rooms, the roller coaster and laser tag were all big hits. The venue was very clean and the staff was amazing. It will definitely be a new birthday tradition.
Did a birthday party for my daughter, was so disappointed. 1. I had to wait all day until they call me back to book a party. 2. No sanitation, ampty bottles with sanitizer. 3. had to ran around look for someone. pizza is late 20 min. Was cold. Then same story with cake????. 4. Very short on stuff. 5. prices are high for this kind of service. Will never go back and will not recommend to my friends.
Great place, wish games weren't so pricy though
We have been to a lot of parties at funhaven. They're a lot of fun for our oldest (9 yrs old) but I find the place far too crowded for our 4 year old. Every time we attend a birthday party there she ends up in tears because someone bumped into her or stepped on her. With that said, the staff are usually pretty good at dealing with so many children. I'm not a fan of the arcade games. You can burn through money really quickly and then you have to wait in line for a long time to choose what toys to get with the tickets you win. The little ones have a hard time understanding that they only won enough tickets to buy junk. What I do like is the laser tag and bowling. My girls always want to go to Funhaven because they always have a good time there but we only go when my patience is at a high level. ????
Great place to visit. Laser tag very fun!
Good family place nice staff, reasonable prices, I hope the lady in the coffee shop could get some assistance especially during weekdays, despite that we got a good service though.
It is a really great place for kids in Ottawa. Kids love this place and we spend here hours. The staff is very supportive. I was amazed how resposnsible a roller coadter operator was. He triple checked everything and everyone before every start. We payed for an game which turned out to be not working and when asked we were refunded right away. Great customer service.! The management employes the youth of any cultural background which is so supportive and great for someone to start a career. We are loyal customers of Funhaven from now on!
I had my nephews over for a night and called ahead to ensure what the covid polices were. After dealing with very friendly staff, I arrive with the kids. Only to see an entire family (6 members) blatantly not caring about the policies. Not wearing masks at all and not using sanitizer. I approached an employee to share my concerns as I found it unsettling how everyone else was wearing masks but this family. The employee said "I'll get someone to talk to them." Then vanished.... no one talked to that family. So I kept myself and my nephews far from them and had the boys use the sanitizer regularly. Also the employee said on the phone that they have staff to clean every station, yet I saw no one cleaning anything.. I'm highly disturbed how I was lied to about their covid policies. They don't care about masks or sanitization. I did my part to ensure the boys stayed safe during our visit. But they lost my business after that. They are not taking covid-19 seriously and it shows. Highly disappointed.
I went here for the first time and had a blast. The bumper cars were a little confusing at first but very fun once I got that hang of it. We also did an escape room and the roller coaster. Was fun for adults as well. I will be going back at an earlier time so I can try out more things :)
I want to rate Funhaven higher, but I can't. Firstly, that new roller coaster is far beyond what I expected. It's not big, but it's thrilling. Laser frenzy was fun, but the scores weren't shown afterward up on the screen to tell me how great of a job I did slaughtering the kiddies. That aside the laser frenzy was fun enough. My biggest issues were with the arcade and skills games. First, the big guitar hero game is definitely not calibrated, so don't even bother with it. Such potential fun gone. Then, so many of the games are simply out of order. We played air hockey and the digital scoreboard didn't work. Point after point, the score remained 0-0. Takes the thrill out of that.
Look. There is not much better in the area at the time of this review. They are severely lacking in updating all their material. Their outside signage states a bowling alley... they have not had one for three years. Their website does not tell you that you must book escape rooms a minimum of one day in advance and they only have the 1 hour rooms. But they did earn back a few stars for the features they do offer. Even if the arcade area is very limited in selection it has value. The last thing I have to say is the cheapness of their reward system. Nothing of worth is on their wall at all but worse is that it takes WAY too many tickets to get anything. I am sorry but for what it takes to earn tickets no chocolate bar is worth 400 and no teddy bear is worth 6000.
The kids love it. Very affordable and the credits never expire.
Went for Frosh, had a great time with the laser tag, the roller coaster (super cool!), bumper cars, and all the games. I was lucky that this was all included as I did a LOT and if I had paid normal price it would have been very expensive. Definitely a fun place!
First time in this place all I can say is YOU GOTTA GO!! One of the best spot in Ottawa with amazing people especially Kevin. The service we received was so amazing and all that because of Kevin. He made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back again!!!
Unjustifiably pricey. Expect to pay 3-4$ at most games (6-8$ for two kids to play together) which last 30 seconds to 2 minutes. For 50$ we played only a few games and only a few gave "tickets" that accumulates to two lollipops at the prize counter. Had we focused on prize games, I'm sure we could have got enough for a Halloween candy they priced at 100 tickets... For 50$ We won't be returning. No cost increase can justify loosing return customers at these prices. Poor management/ownership is to blame and the employees there openly agreed they expect the business to fail. As it should.
Its a really fun place to be ????, you can get a discount if you are a student, its a pretty nice place to have fun ????????.
A great place to let off some steam and enjoy some pure, unadulterated fun! I was NOT expecting that tiny rollercoaster to go so fast ???? It could be a 5 star establishment if it was bigger and had more a bit more variety in games. There was also one machine (the one where you controlled the dinosaur to pick up a prize) that didn't seem to work properly.
Brought my 6 year old boy to Fun Haven on Oct.2nd, I got him a birthday package. I under estimated Fun Haven. To my understanding I thought having a Birthday Package you would had a staff hosting. (explaining rules of the place, giving out cards etc) this was not at all what I expected. It was just very different from other places we've celebrated birthdays. At the end of the day my son had a great time with friends.
Amazing! Recommend to bring kids all ages!
For a family of four this place was a blast..unlimited everything for the whole day at a decent price.. The food is great. So much to do. Even when its busy its so big you dont feel crowded..cant wait to go back
Lots of fun here. Great space and they are adding new stuff so coming back every once and a while is always recommend. We've done team building events here as well which was quite fun. Great for kids when it is busy as there are more children to play with (laser tag, bumper cars etc.)
Best place in Ottawa for kids but little bit pricey .
Great place to bring the kids. Busy atmosphere to keep the tots distracted. The games are appealing not only to kids, but kids of all ages. The food at the cafeteria is better then I first thought. Although the pizza dough is not to my liking, the rest of the food is great! They even sell alcohol for adults. I am a little let down on the points payout. The payout is very low compared to dollar spent. This could be offset by having less expensive prizes. The ticket payout to price cost is not balanced well at all. But great for kids on a shorter visit.
1. Quality and cost of food (our group of 12 year olds did not like the pizza... that says a lot). 2. The service was non-existent. We booked weeks in advance to ensure everything was planned. The private pizza party we booked for a specific time was delayed by 30mins. 3. Most of your games weren't working and ate up all the credits we bought and trying to get help for this was next to impossible. 4. If you need more examples I am more than happy to provide as most families in our group had quite a bit more to say.
We have been to Funhaven many times but the last visit was not a great experience. Many of the arcade games were out of service. Laser Frenzy would not keep an accurate score. You could walk through the beams with no effect. Laser Tag was disappointing as my kids and my wife and I were the only ones in the game. Not much fun. The food court was absolutely awful. The fries were reheated. The pop was flat. There were no utensils and only a little bit of condiments. Don't think we will be going back, but I don't think they will be in business much longer anyway.
Good time for an arcade. Not all the games give you tickets, but as usual you have to spend a ton of money to get any prizes. Laser tag was pretty decent compared to other ones I've been to
Not bad but a little pricey. Seems like half of the stuff is always broken and in disrepair. I have taken my son there over the years and the games seem like the same ones that were there 3 years ago. New roller coaster is nice. A lot of potential but poor execution. That said my son does love it.
Very friendly staff, we had fun. They also gave my daughter a little gift when they learned that it was her birthday.
Nice close get away for the kids, was not over crowded and clean. We enjoyed our time.
Funhaven was pretty much exactly what I expected, but still managed to be less than I imagined. There's pretty much nothing wrong with the place. The staff were friendly, and aside from a small beer ownership issue, caused no problems. The selection of games was... fine. They had skee-ball machines, two older arcade emulator cabinets, way too many games of chance, and a couple air hockey tables. There was a notable lack of pinball machines: just one with a walking dead theme. One game, Pacman Battle Royale, was actually pretty fun... Except the joysticks were broken and turning was difficult. I guess the atmosphere was what was missing. Maybe that's just something you can't recapture?
Free admission for adults, fun for all ages! Roller coaster, lazer tag, arcade and jungle gym for little ones. A few of the arcade games need servicing but tickets accumulate digitally onto a swipe card, and the prizes are awesome! Didn't have any food but there's a nice size food court and leather recliners all around.
Funhaven was a fun place! I wished some of the games lasted longer and were a little cheaper for credits. Overall fun experience!
Unfortunately this place used to be a favourite for my son and I until COVID hit and like many places the prices sky rocketed We can’t afford to go to this place anymore. Everything has gone up and priorities set in.
Not so fun if you decide to go on Sunday night 1.5 hours before closing. We arrived at 7:30 pm and were told that the Roller coaster and bumper rides were closed for the evening and everything else was open and the laser tag last game is at 8:30 pm. We straightaway went for laser tag and were told it is closed. When we insisted that the front desk told it was open they had some internal conversations and opened it for us at 8 pm. We asked about the Dark Ride game right next to it and were told “We may close everything early if we don’t have enough people”. After laser tag we went for Dark Ride to find out it was Closed. Most of the games were “temporarily unavailable”. I would give service negative stars if there was an option If a business wants to close early please mention the correct time on the website so people can decide accordingly instead of a disappointing experience.
Fun place but many machines ate our credit without letting us play.
Years ago they had many issues with the large majority of games not working and terrible support. Over the past few years they've recently improved. Most of the games are new now and they've completely changed their system to be digital on cards. Much better setup and I've now switched to a 5-star. Such dramatic changes from before - we now love to go here and go at least once a month with our kids. Great time and lots of fun!!
Great staff, fun and friendly environment. Very quick to answer and questions. Held my sons 11 birthday party #Funhaven and highly recommend.
There's not much fun and playing options for toddlers. The car racing was the only fun place but because of people waiting for their turns, you can't sit twice. Would that, it was a bigger place with more fun for all.
Fine place to have a little arcade fun. Came here on a week day so not a lot of people here. Staffs are nice. Some of the utilities seems closed, maybe because not enough people to play, weekends are definitely gonna be busy. Anyway pretty nice place to have some fun.
Fun place! Staff is great, they don't have a very wide selection of arcade games compared to other arcade places but they have other unique rooms that other arcades don't have. Prize points are kind of unreasonable for some items but definitely a fun spot to go to!
Great place to bring a three yr old since the ball city jungle gym is free!
Good family fun, with an excellent variety of games and activities. You can easily blow an afternoon here (we were two adults with two younger ones ages 6 & 3) without breaking the bank. There's even a mini resto (check the photo below for the clever dish names). They could use a wider variety of prizes at the low end (claimed by "spending" the tickets you earn while playing games like many such arcades).
It's a fun spot spot to bring kids. We've gone several times but it seems like it's getting more expensive. Standard arcade game to win tickets is the equivalent of $1.80-$2 to play with others hitting $3. This doesn't translate well to tickets as you win about 10-20 which is only enough for a .05 cent candy. The most value is found in the larger, adventure areas; laser tag (15 min games), bumper cars etc. If you can enjoy the adventure areas and reign in your kids need to win tickets then its worth it but going there just for tickets/prizes is nuts. The food area is good, prices are reasonable for the amount you get, chicken fingers are real chunky peices and the gentleman who operates it is very friendly.
Laser tag and awesome Rollercoaster that actually goes quite fast. So much more.
The funhaven escape was pretty fun! I went with a group of 5 and we all managed to fit and there were enough clues for us to work individually and also as a team. The staff were super friendly and helpful with the hints which made the overall experience pretty fun. The room theme fitted the story well, despite some things being a little hard to decipher. Would definitely come again.
Our kids love this place, but as a parent, I grit my teeth and just do it since we're only in Ottawa once a year. The kids love the arcade and carnival games, laser frenzy, bumper cars and play gym. However, it's quite expensive for such a small arcade. The space is fairly small and when it's busy, it is crowded, hot and very loud. There is music blasting constantly from the bumper cars competing with the guitar hero game across the way. Anyhow, the kids looooove this place but two kids doing the most basic package ("Fun"), it came out to $70 plus another $20 for arcade credits. Update: we went back in May 2019 and their pricing set up has changed completely. They have new games and it wasn't as loud. Kids still had fun and as usual, the arcade was very busy on a Sunday afternoon.
Great place to bring the kids - unleash them in the ball pit area and either chase them around or relax while they tire themselves out. The three and under crowd are free to get in, but you'll probably still want to play some games with them (my two year old is hooked on the safari animal game). The new rollercoaster is a lot of fun but a bit expensive.
All safety measures were met during this pandemic. Staff was friendly.
We went with friends and 10 year old daughter. Place was great. However, it seems after 8 pm kids below 16 are not allowed as they start to serve alcohol which was a bummer as we reached only @ 7.30 pm. We still have to try this place but it seems fun. We will surely go visit with better timings.
Very fun environment and games, restaurant food is good. I recommend it for 10 to 18 years old.
We had to wait about an hour before the attractions opened, and the escape rooms, that my daughter was really looking forward to, never opened.
Went there for my nieces birthday party and as a kid myself. There is a lot of attractions. They even have a mini bumper car course, and a rock climbing wall. This facility will keep your kids entertained for the whole day! They even have tokens that you can use to redeem for prizes. Would definitely come back again for a party.
Why 3 stars. I see Funhaven as an "arcade" amusement centre and there just are not that many games to play there and it is pricey. One free holding gun shooter, 2 mounted gun games. One pinball machine (ball outs too easily?). 2 multi-game classic arcade game machines. A bunch of ticket games, some where the scoring is not clear. Two air hockey table. One DDR station. A few racing games. Escape room, laser tag, bumper cars, in-door roller coaster and jungle gym. For kids in Ottawa, I suppose a 4 or 5 * considering there is not much competition in this space. For adults, a 3*. Funhaven does have some promotions to attract adults but my view is that, there is not much games for adults. I would have expected some competitive fighting arcade games (e.g. Street Fighter), some side-scrolling or vertical shooters, more free holding gun shooters (e.g. Time Crisis, House of Dead). These games with the physical accessories, you cannot easily reproduce on home console. This is not a cheap place either. Standard rate is $0.25 a credit and a game typically costs 4 to 6 credits ($1 to $1.50) so the $$$ flies pretty quick. Rides are around $5 each. Better moderate your kids' play! Note that their pricing shows a price for unlimited play for a period of time (e.g. 1hr unlimited play). That is only for parties or group events and not available for individual visits. No outside food or drinks though water bottles are allowed and there is a water cooler at the wash rooms. No complaints with staff or cleanliness.
Had a blast with my daughter and my friend with her kids! Always a great time and place to be! Definitely going to continue coming for lots of fun!
Nice and fun place! I actually had more fun than the kids. Your inner child come out once you enter this place love it ????????????????
This is a fantastic way for some adults to go out for a cheap-ish fun time in Ottawa. Only gripe is as of late, a majority of the non-carnival games are put of order with no notice before you enter.
Great place to take the kids to keep them entertained. A few of the games where not working, of course they had to be the ones we wanted to play. Fun play structure and an indoor rollercoaster!
It's a nice place for some kids time, though it's over priced. Paid about 200$ for about 2 hours with my 2 kids. I hounstly prefer places where you pay entry fees and kids can play as much as they want like bubble sea.
Kids loved it. They ran themselves into exhaustion playing around. Games are fun, but a bit of a stretch for our young ones to enjoy. The play structure is getting a bit beat up, air compressor seems to be lacking it's youthful power to move the balls it must have once had. The restaurant was slow and understaffed but the food was alright.
Great experience with the kids
This center is huge! Lots of things for kids to do, you including things in which adults may also partake. I did an escape room with two kids and two other adults, and it was great - challenging enough to be interesting and exciting and not so difficult that you needed help to complete it. Great fun!
⚠️Terrible terrible just terrible.never go there ever!I reccomend a different place for the familie.lazer tag was highly boring my family's guns weren't working PROPERLY and only the vests working so everyone would shoot us but I couldn't shoot back so I wasted money.also the rollercoaster thing was broken so I wasted my money from that and the arcade games didnt even give your points to you! There food is soggy and disgusting and no one there is friendly or helpful in any way! DONT GO THERE
Kids had a blast! Can get costly depending on how long you want to stay. Will do again for sure. Entertainment for hours and loads of family fun
Escape room, laser tag: 5/5. As good if not better than the ones outside of here. Arcades: 4/5, there could be a little more games as I felt we were sometimes roaming around to try something new but there isn't that option. Prizes: would be nice to have some toys geared towards adults. This is what we ended up getting.
You gotta keep your eyes peeled for your children! But loads of fun
Friendly staff and much fun. Wish some of the games were working that weren't. Overall good experience.
My sisters birthday party and paid 380$ they were 40 minutes late and the table wasn’t cleaned, dirt plates, dirty cups. They took forever . I do not recommend having a birthday here having fun yes but birthday no
I love this place for arcade games . Friday and Saturday night after 8pm is pretty cool and more calm . My 3 stars is because of their escape rooms ! I’ve done 2 of them here and I feel like they need a better sound proof . Is very loud you can hear everything happening outside . We just did the jungle one and it was very hard to communicate we were almost yelling since the rollercoaster is right beside this escape room. I find them very good tho just the sound of kids yelling , rollercoaster and games sounds outside kills the whole experience .
We went to play the arcade games more than half of them were broken. Seems the emphasis is on the bumper cars and small rollercoaster instead of fixing arcade games. Given they can maintain those basic games not sure I would trust my kids on a ride there. Kids and wife still had fun.
Extremely expensive but the kids always have fun and that always makes it worth it. I do have concerns about security. They no longer stamp you and your child. It makes the fear of taking your eye off of them even for a second very real. Also they have adult events and serve alcohol in the evenings.
A fun place for adults and children. The price is not cheap. I would not recommend the bumper cars unless you enjoy spinning in circles repeatedly. We enjoyed the variety of arcade games and other attractions for kids. I saw an employee going around sanitizing the different games during our visit. One thumb down for the employee who was rude to me when I asked for help with one of the attractions.
It's good place for child's and also parent's in winter ???? weather just have fun
Kids loved spending the day ;) i think we will go again next time we visit Ottawa
Great fun to be had by all. Only problem with the place is with the food and the prices that come along with it. Had a poutine that was only half cooked and was not pleasurable. They also forgot to start making a pizza that our kids ended up waiting 40 mins for. So if you going to go there..simply just game and have fun. Totally worth it.
So, I want to start this with a caveat that the floor staff at Funhaven are great. Every interaction we had with staff was good. In fact, had it not been for the staff, I would be giving this one star. So what happened? We went to the Funhaven location to try their escape rooms. The first one we tried was Curse of the Forgotton, a mayan/Aztec themed room. Half of the puzzles had not been reset. The manager was appropriately embarrassed and gave us a discount on a second room, which was nice but not the only problems with the setup. None of the rooms are sound proofed, and they're RIGHT next to the roller coaster. Kinda hard to hear audio cues let alone get into the themes. And that really is the worst thing, because between screaming children and loud machinery, I'm wondering why the designers thought it was a good idea to place these rooms where they did. Sorry folks, but stay away from Funhaven's escape rooms.
Great place. Guitar hero and DDR with loud speakers. HTC VR game, and a really cool 3d glasses shooter.
It's a nice escape in extreme weather, the games are not relatable if your kis is under five. The way the space is designed is a bit messy Bathrooms are clean, the restaurant has few nice options but %100 junk food no salads or bowls just lots of carbs so I find it somehow limited and the menu should be geared towards the kids more (nuggetsn macncheese..etc) Otherwise fun friendly spot
The kids love going to FunHaven! The games are fun and easy and the rides are great for the kids!
A bit pricey but good for a rain dat
Great arcade place to take your kids. You will find a game for any age. Food was excellent and the prices are fair. Will come back again next time we in Ottawa.
I went for the arcade games - there was a fairly decent selection but I think they need to be maintained better. Guitar Hero's 1P side didn't work at all, and the 2P guitar had buttons that weren't working. The DDR cabinet was in relatively good shape, though. Credits are fairly expensive for what you get in their package deals when compared to other arcades like Dave and Busters, The Rec Room, etc.
First of all almost every attraction cost extra money, disgusting attitude towards clients, shortage of staff. My child wanted to ride the roller coaster, so that we bought tickets for her and her fried (5$ each). Tickets sold immediately and when happy children ran to ride on an attraction - It turned out that there is no employee who would run a roller coaster. kids waited there for about 15 minutes and then I went to find someone to help us. First I have spoke to the guy who sold me those tickets, he said that someone will come soon. After another 10 minutes I caught another guy in the Funheaven uniform and asked him to help as well, then, after another 5 minutes I was running after another employee praying him to HELP, because kids almost cried by then, and it supposed to be a birthday party... So, after 25-30 minutes and me talking to probably everyone in there came some guy unshaven, looking like some woodcutter. With a look on his face like he does us a great favor, he started the attraction. More precisely, he wanted to run a roller coaster without first checking the safety belts - so I had to tell him to do so, because even I saw that one of the kids didn't buckled belt. I'm not even talking about that the place was dirty and outdated. I'll never come there again!
Super fun place. I'm sure I had more fun then my best friends kids hahaha
Lots of fun in the arcade, bumper cars, Laser tag, mini roller coaster etc.
Good family place to go on a rainy or snowy day but many games are unavailable now.
Great activities and rides. Perfect for rainy and winter days when you can't get outside. The new escape rooms are great. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money.
It's fun but can be very expensive. It's nice they offer different packages at different rates. Games are half price Thursday's and you can get $20 fun bucks for $10. They have lots of games and activities if you don't mind the games that glitch out to rip you off. Edit review: they have better packages available! Games still rip you off, but you can get your tickets, don't you worry. Have fun!
We held a birthday party and everything was already set up for us. Amazing staff and very family friendly. I went on the rollercoaster and it's actually very fun for all ages!!!
Not just my angel loved this well equipped indoor luna park, I also need to be there another time????????????
Kids have fun, but I find the cleanliness of this place and the fact that their family/wheelchair accessible bathroom doors do not close properly to be a bit disturbing. It’s a nice cheap place to go to let the kids have fun but nothing spectacular.
Fun atmosphere for the whole family. Lots of games and different activities to enjoy. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The pizza is made in house and is delicious. Large group bookings for events are handled with excellent service and catering. Hosted a few work events here, all of which made everyone very happy.
Indoor roller coaster is amazing. Blew me away with how well put together this place was! Only down fall is that it's crazy busy. Not enough hand sanitizing stations in the place and there are no seats except stairs to sit on outside the restrooms. But who wants to sit down when you can have so much fun!
I've been taking my daughter here throughout the pandemic as it provided her with relief but now she cannot enter the premises due to funhaven's of covid protocols. Unfortunately this is another organization participating in illegal widespread discrimination and segregation.
For my first time going with my kids, it was a great experience. They enjoyed themselves. Food is good. Games etc are fun and for different age groups. Just wish they had better choices of prizes for kids to pick from when redeeming our tickets that we won while playing games.
Funhaven is a great place for indoor activities and games to do with the kids. It can get a bit pricy but I think it worth the quality time and the fun that I had with the kids.
Great time for my kids birthday here. Jungle gym and bumper cars and lazer tag were a hit with the kids. Pizza was good and host was great with the kids. Very busy on Saturday during March break. We will be back for sure.
A place with a nice variety of games, but the ones which are convinient for small kids are not a lot. Anyway, it's a nice place to enjoy yourself with friends or family.
Love going to funhaven I try to go at least once a year but since with covid and all I haven’t gone in a long time but I’m glad they’re open again & I can’t wait to go pay a visit soon! The staff is always so friendly & has amazing customer service! So many great things to do from arcade games to riding ottawa’s only coaster, it’s definitely a place to visit if you’re ever near by or looking for something to do.
The last time I came here was about a year ago with my Girl Guide group. I do remember that I enjoyed the arcade and I especially liked the lazer tag zone. It was an awesome experience! They were right to call it FUN haven!
Lots of things for kids to do and the staff member named Igor was exceptional and made the kids so happy. Only small issue was one of the staff was suppose to watch one of the kids because he was a bit shy but she somehow forgot him in the arcade area, misplaced him and she didnt even realize until the parent came for pick up after the party. So the child basically missed everything and gave myself and the parent the scare of a lifetime.I also gave a huge bag of extra stuff to add to the loot bags but they never added them. Other then that the kids had fun.... I would feel a lot more comfortable if they had a better system with the ins and outs of the facility.
Went on Saturday so bit busy place but Amazing place. Not only kids but adults can enjoy easily up to 3-4 hrs here. Arcade has many variety of games and bumping cars are mind blowing. Pizza was also great and customer service was superb too. Staffs were very fast in providing service. I will surely visit again with my 6 year old kid.
We bailed from school to avoid the crowd. For approx $22 we got two medium slushies, a half size fries (which was enough for an adult and 2 kids), and some cotton candy. Not bad for amusement concessions. Kids have had a blast so far!
Really enjoyed this place. It has good packages where the kids get to play on the bumper cars and rollercoaster unlimited for a specified period of time. I also like how clean and obviously well taken care of the facility is, all games are in working order and it makes the whole experience better. I finally really like how the card loaded tokens and tickets don’t expire so it makes it easy to keep coming back, which we definitely will.
It was fun for the first two hours but once you try everything once it lacks the appeal. Some of the machines were down for the whole day. Laser Zone was broken. The Escape rooms were completely booked out. What's good is the unlimited game pass but that's pricey too. Overall, go once and try it out. That's about it.
Decent place for kids to have some fun time. Maintenance of equipment needs to be better. The parking is a real pain..fills up fast over weekends. Ikea is close by...can leverage the parking there.
It was a great place to go to play games and unwind... the escape room experience is awesome definitely recommend doing one will be back to do more.
I went this week, and although the games were fun, I was very disappointed by their safety measures. There were signs saying masks were required, but sadly there were many people who I saw constantly removing their masks while playing games, to talk to the phone, etc. Many children (ages ~6 to 12) seemed to have no masks at all. The staff clearly saw, but didn’t do anything to enforce the mask policy. There were several hand sanitizer dispensers, but two that I tried were empty. There was no paper towel in the bathrooms either to dry your hands after washing. Overall I felt angry, because it’s businesses like this that are contributing to the spread of COVID and further lockdowns. I would not return, and would not recommend others to visit here during the pandemic. EDIT (based on owner’s response): I of course acknowledge there are individuals with medical exceptions; however, these are rare. Forgive me for having a hard time to believe that a dozen people from various households all had medical exemptions and happened to all be in Funhaven at the exact same time. In the hour I was there I saw many children running around playing without masks and parents wearing masks on their chin (below the mouth and nose). Not once did I see any staff member try to enforce the mask policy, even though mask-less kids were running around them.
Perfect place for Kids Birthday party celebration. Big place with various attractions for kids (bumping cars/ hockey table/ small but nice rollercoaster/ many other machines to play). Optional to take a package with food and drinks for Birthday party (pizzas, fries and other options). Also they have a food & coffee area for waiting parents.
I had my daughter's birthday party there this weekend and I was very disappointed with how it went. I've actually done several birthday parties there in the past for my kids and they were relatively good. Not fantastic, but decent enough to go back because my kids live it. This year they've changed how they organise parties. You have to pay for a certain number of credits for each child. I asked about how many credits I should buy, and I ended up buying 120 credits per child. I asked if we could book laser quest so that we wouldn't have to wait since it is a party anyway. They said no, you can't book a time, but you just go and wait for the next time. There's no posted schedule for laser tag, only that it runs every 15 minutes. They had told us that everyone from the group had to be in line. When we lined up there were only 4 people in front of us, but they were all saving spots for others and they filled up the whole room so we weren't able to go. I know that's not Funhaven's fault specifically, but it could have been way better organized. Maybe they could have someone checking in on the line and getting names or number of people down (like waiting for a table at a restaurant. So I had a bunch of 7 year olds waste 15 minutes of play time waiting to play laser tag and not get a chance since the next time was when we had to go for pizza. If I had known, they could have been doing bumper cars or something else. They also had our pizza waiting at the wrong table, and that took 10-15 minutes for them to figure out where our pizza had gone. We decided to add juice and bought two pitchers and that took a long time. Another pizza took a while too, but that's to be expected because they actually have to cook it. They have also removed the dividers in the party area upstairs so you don't have any privacy during pizza and cake time. They mixed up someone else's present in with my daughter's presents. It's just another example of how disorganized they were. At the end we decided to try laser quest again for the guest that could stay later. We waited 15 minutes and you could see that nobody was playing the game. We kept asking staff and they kept saying that someone will be there for the next game within 15 minutes. One of the adults for frustrated and went inside to find that there was nobody playing the game and no staff there. We told other staff and they said someone should be there and then sent someone (5-10 min later). We finally got to do laser tag, which was fun. The kids wanted to go on the crazy 8 again, only to find nobody running it. We asked and they said that it closes at 8 pm (it was 7:40). After a family member explained that this is a kid's birthday party and it should be open until 8 they opened it and let the kids go on it. It was totally disorganized and extremely frustrating! I will not have any of my kids parties there anymore. I'm done with Funhaven. I would have given only one star, except the kids really do have fun with the activities. They need to bring back their bracelet system and organize the laser tag better and make sure their staff aren't so stoned that they forget to come back after their break, or mix up the pizzas or the presents.
Bad customer service, terrible games! Visited this location today for the first time and we had such a horrible experience with their customer service!!! We filled up our cards and the rep told us the games will become half price after 5pm; we got to one of the games (dark rider) and it charged us for the total value! We wouldn't try that game if we knew it was for the full credit. We literally wasted our credits only because we thought it charges half credit. We asked the front desk to redeem back the credits; the lady was willing to refund us, but her manager refused to compensate us, even though it was their wrong given info. Would not recommend this place at all!
Horrible customer service. We went there before 5 pm, wanting to do their "laser tag" and "Dark Rider" activities. The lady who worked there told us that we can go on the ride after 5 pm for half price. So we left and came back an hour later, since there were 6 of us and it made sense to save on the tickets. We then went on the dark rider ride. Realizing that we had been charged FULL price, we went back to the front desk, asking what had happened. The lady who worked there realized that she had been wrong, and that ride remained full price after 5 pm. She felt bad and wanted to credit us half of the price (about ~$33), her co-worker and potentially manager prevented her from doing so, whispering that we had to pay full price regardless. Although the lady was quite apologetic, and was repeating that it was her fault giving wrong information, the guy working there acted horribly indifferent and didn't let her compensate us.
Really good cost/benefit ratio there. Options for kids and adults for sure... The weekday promotions make it even more worthwhile. Get in earlier in the day for more space to move around.
Covid protocols were sorely lacking. The only hand sanitizer was at the front door and by the bathroom. The machines and games were not cleaned once, while we were there. Some games and machines were broken or not operational. Thankfully,I had my own hand sanitizer with us. Dangerous & gross!
It wasn't what I expected. However the best activity was the laser tag. The kids had so much fun.
Went in to visit them with two young kids, (ages 9 and 7). Paid once and used Jungle Gym all day. Kids loved New Laser tag. In between Jungle Gym and Laser tag.... I barely saw them. Got to relax and enjoy some me time. Shout out to Larisa for her outstanding help.
1: Pretty much almost half of the games are broken and only the kid's game is only working. 2: I bet if I were to go there now the games will still be broken and only the kid's games are only working. 3: I think they should shut down their business until all games are fixed then reopen their business but are too lazy to do that too or maybe their mechanics are the lazy ones and need to be fired. 4: There bathroom when I was there last was dirty the male bathroom I do not know about the female bathroom.
Only worth it when going on Mondays or Tuesdays for half price. The games there are of higher quality versus arcades at cineplex. They have some unique games there too like Dance Dance Revolution
This place is a big part of my childhood. I celebrated my 8th birthday here. And when I was 13. I would invite my friends. I don't go here anymore. Because this is meant for younger kids. I'm a bit too old for this place now. Thanks for my childhood experiences here. I would recommend this place to your children. Because they will remember like I do.
They were great even during power outage. My daughters birthday was scheduled on Friday, just before the kids could go in, there was power outage due to the tornado. They really apologized as party has to be cancelled and they let my 7 year old cut the cake with her friends. The staff was so nice to kids. They were were responsible and kept all kids entertained by talking to them and playing with them till their parents picked them up. As it was really bad weather outside. Kids said this was great party. They were out of power till Monday, so we did the birthday party in Kids kingdom on Saturday. But I realized staff of Kids kingdom was not at all fun . I love Funhaven.
Great for children, most of the times some games are out of order or not working. They haven’t updated or introduced any new games in a long time
Wow! I can't wait to go back this place is so much fun! Check their website for prices! Open late! Indoor small rollercoaster and Lazer tag arena!
It's a basic arcade place and good for children 8+. When I went there were 3 school busses full of kids from camp so naturally it was chaotic. So be prepared. Additionally, it is extremely overpriced as one escape room cost $100 credits per person (approx $25)
Very fun but was a little crowded.
Awesome and fun experience. It was great to play the laser tag! The teams was filled with energy and jumped right into the action. It was great to see the number of points you make whenever you tag someone. Green team won the challenge and it was awesome to be on the free team!
Fun clean place for kids to spend their time. Very expensive with next to no package variations. Hard to find staff. I paid for a 2 hour pass that allowed the children to ride the four main attractions they have there unlimited times for 2 hours. Everytime the kids wanted to go on the rock climbing wall we had to chase down and wait for staff. Theres a large jungle gym, which the kids love However there is little or no supervision by staff.
Not a fan. It's an ok place for kids to play and use the arcade, but it's super expensive and you can blow through money like its going out of style. The prizes you "win" are terrible so there is not even a point trading in your tickets. The ball jungle gym is cool though, great for kids 2-7 years old
Staff are friendly. Atmosphere is great. We took a 1 year membership which would have been more worth it if we could have played the games we wanted instead of only the ones that worked. Edit: This is a review from my experience a few years. Ago. Maybe "membership" isn't the right word, but it was a card that allowed us to access the bumper cars, jungle gyms, etc without having to pay everytime we went there. The reason I wrote this review is because I was cleaning out my wallet due to all this free time in the pandemic, found the expired card and threw it out. Now I'm considering taking off another star due to your clueless and condescending reply. Maybe take out the bit about the friendly staff.
It’s a great way to spend the day. It’s well worth the money. Place is always clean and my son loves the game selection. The laser tag and bumper cars are always fun, too! If you are looking for a way to spend your afternoon I would definitely recommend Fun Haven.
Rainforest escape room was awesome. It was perfect for all ages. Everyone solved something. Looks easy but don't be fooled it is tricky. Our hostess, Alba was very kind and helpful. Overall a great experience! Can't wait to try the other two rooms.
Such a blast! Felt like a kid again! Enough things in there to keep kids entertained, and the adults too! Loved laser tag and the Dark Room.
It’s very pricey and we paid 100 dollars for only two games it was better then now
The new renovations are a lot better than what they were many years ago when I was a kid. I remember being bored there a lot. What they've done now, with lightning, darkening the floors and walls, and all the new activities is really good. More variety = more fun. Lazer tag & the Rollercoaster are my favourite.
Great place for kids, with games, fair variety of arcades, jungle gym, bumper cars, a small roller coaster, and a small climbing wall. The missed star goes to the ticket redemption arcades: they have extremely little time to play (some with less than 30 seconds).
All the games there were really fun, in all the arcades I've been in (which isn't a lot mind you) I've never been to an arcade with Mario Kart and DDR. Unfortunately quite a few machines were broken, case in point 3 ski ball machines, 3 basketball machines, and some of the laser tag vests. So overall it was fun but I probably won't return until they fix some of their stuff
Extremely fun place to go, and definitely will be going back! Ticket payouts are not that great which is the only reason I am rating 4 starts instead of 5. I payed for $50 worth of credits and was barely given any tickets. Now full disclosure, I guess that may have been my fault. Food is cheap, and alcohol is as well. Food is exactly what you would expect from an arcade, nothing great, but not bad.
my friend was choking on minute maid apple juice which was overpriced and the worker just went about her day while my friend was choking ????????????
Their new 4D is awesome! I wish it was longer though! The staff is lovely and helpful! Such a fun place!
Fun place for groups! Didn't like the security guy following me around the whole time. There was two actually. My fiance and I spent over $100 on games and food and we being followed around. Didn't do anything to attract that sort of attention either. Other than, good fun place!
We always come here. We never have a problem, spend alot of money here for my kids.. but the way LARISA treated us was very unprofessional! She was very rude and disrespectful! Also I don't recommend this place to anyone with young kids! It's boring, unprofessional staff! I miss midway!!!!
Took 3 of my 5 kids there to celebrate a birthday. We had a great time on a Wednesday evening. Only gave 4 stars because I wish there was more for children under 5 than just the jungle gym. We played laser tag which was great, indoor roller coaster and various games.
No respect for covid distance and not enough hand sanitizer for such a small place. The staff do not clean after customers use of equipments. The jungle was very ordinary and the exchange of points was a joke.
I have come here on a few occasions in the past few years and as recently as Easter Monday. Have also host a birthday party for my 10 year old last year. Overall experience has been positive. True that some of the arcade games does not seem working, or sometimes it is hard to get a staff member to assist. Reason I'm giving a 4-star is because staff tried their very best to satisfy their customers. An example: I just wanted my 2 kids ride the bumper once because we were leaving shortly. The $14/unlimited ride seems steep but I just wanted to pay for just a single ride. The staff made us a favour and let my kids ride for free. That might be against their policy but it's their thought that counted! BTW: I ended up spending $40 worth of arcade games for which my kids were happy!
So much fun, I would highly recommend going here - with or without children. Big variety of games to play, many of which remind me of the games at carnivals and fairs. Decent selection of prizes, did not try the food but have heard from others its not bad. Will definitely be going back!
Nice to be back doing something "normal" with the kids. The staff was great and everyone had a great time. ** Yes, we did do the new laser tag. The new guns are very cool. Certainly a great feature. Hopefully, the Coaster is fixed soon ;)
Been there done that. “Fun” haven but the staff seem particularly depressed. Employer could perhaps benefit from increasing employee mental health awareness. I would like to offer a 10 step plan to turn that frown upside down and restore the “fun” and light culture that makes fun-haven such a god damn good and sweet escape.
We were so excited to come into this place, but due to the covid-19 protocols, they limit the people which are good, and we had to wait. We were pretty hopeful, we waited and we are still not in; it's been 4 HOURS! We appreciate the efforts that the staff put in to include in the waitlist but unfortunately we weren't able to come in due to restriction that the city of ottawa implemented.
Friendly staff and great choice of games
It was an ok place. Super bummed the escape rooms were not open. The kids had fun doing the arcades. A bit pricey for ride/bumper cars. In the end, it's a good place to spend some time.
Our large group of kiddos had a fantastic afternoon at Fun Haven! The staff were very accommodating, the entire booking process was seamless, and we were thoroughly taken care of throughout our visit. The kids had tons of activities to choose from throughout the afternoon, and they all raved about the experience. Special thanks to Jayme who helped us out tremendously -- she organized and booked our trip, and she did a fantastic job! Would recommend Fun Haven in a heartbeat :)
(FUN) place to take the kids, great atmosphere, but, be careful...you could end up spending quite a bit of $$$. Some of the games aren't worth the 'credits' they charge...the food is overpriced of course. The staff are friendly and helpful..overall it is all about the kids so they get my ????
The staff were great however most of the games were out of order. The canteen was unattended and the only option in the drink machine was a few bottles of water, gatorade and 1 bottle of iced tea. I guess i expected a little more but we did have a little fun
We tried their escape room for the first time and it was super fun. Very challenging for our family of 4 but the hosts were super helpful with the hints. Admittedly we started with a medium level room by accident. We normally just go for their games which are fantastic but this was our first escape room at Funhaven. Recommended for sure.
It used to be somehow good.. But after the last visit (one week ago) a lot of games and rides were out of service and the place was understaffed and messy
The best indoor theme park fun in Ottawa. First time here with my kids today and it was enjoyable. Didn't get a chance to try the cafeteria food, so I can't really comment on the taste and price, but everything else was great. I have been to other indoor playgrounds in Ottawa and this one actually gives you your money's worth. Other indoor playgrounds in Ottawa, charge you more for less.
5 dollars for toddlers to use an indoor park is a rip. Other than that, the game center is packed with a plethera of arcade games, and the foods as good as a kids venue gets. I've tried the escape rooms and enjoyed them thoroughly!
Lots of staff and technical crew to assist with food, operate games, and customer service. We went with a group of 45 kids and had a very memorable experience. Equipment and floors were clean and new. Number cars (Spin Zone) were very secure and had low impact but high intensity fun. Highly recommend.
The kids had fun, and seems to be a good place for parties. It's small, and you can easily finish everything in an hour. The prices are steep, and the entire centre of the room is games that require tokens to get tickets for cheap prizes. Not worth the money.
Place is not safe. Covid protocols are not followed. None of the surfaces were wiped in the 90 mins there. Many people didn't have masks on. Short on staff. 50% of the machines out of order. (Counted myself and took pictures). Too many people and no social distancing possible. They need to control traffic and the amount of people in the place. This place is extremely dangerous with a 4th wave approaching. So scared for any folks coming here and not realizing the threat.
Not many options in Ottawa for places like Chuck E Cheese so this has to do. It's clean, spacious & well run. It's expensive if you do not pre purchase through Groupon. Their prizes require A LOT of tickets so kids end up disappointed. Would benefit if they got more ticket games as there is not too many. Roller coasters & play area is fun for younger kids while bumper cars, escape room and laser tag is fun for older kids. Place has a lot of potential but hopefully gets a refresh and rethink
Great place for kids, but noisy as hell especially near the Rollercoaster.
A great place for kids. It is very noisy though. We did the escape room which was great! It was hard to concentrate with all the noise though. Staff were accommodating and polite. A welcomed experience!
Opposite to what they claim, Their jungle gym is not 2years friendly because of those large steps that must be climbed on to reach a hole in the ceiling in order to enter the jungle gym. Minor inconvenience but i chalked it up to simple mistake on their part. However the rudeness of one of their staff is not acceptable. While i was purchasing the bracelet, my little one ran into the jungle gym "shoes removed" out of excitement causing my wife to run after her "with her shoes" so she could be given her bracelet. One of the staff who happened to be walking by saw this and started to rudely point and yell at my wife for having her shoes on. My wife never climbed inside the structure and was inside the ground park just long enough to grab the kid and walk out. Yet the staff rudely yelled and repeated her comments multiple times, even approached my wife once she was out so that she could make her point of not wearing shoes inside the jungle gym.. She could not be reasoned with and refused to have a civil conversation... It should be noted that this staff also refused to properly wear her facemask. Not covering her nose.
Funhaven The place that won’t Refund me my deposit for my daughter’s birthday as you clearly state that this is a pandemic and with young children Who are susceptible to the virus I cannot bring them to a place that hundreds of children are there. As a big corporation you should take in the consideration that some people are less fortunate and have been saving for this. And in this case should refund deposits.
I've been going there for a month recently and a few of their same games are still out of order. Does it take that long to fix a game? If I'm paying to enjoy games then they should all be running properly.
Brought our son (with Autism) here for his 14th Birthday. We weren't sure how it would be for him. It's nice to walk through to see the games and rides before you pay. Staff today were very friendly and understanding of our son's condition. Sydney (Manager) was very helpful, checked in with patrons to ensure everyone is having fun. It made our first time here FUN! There are lots of children going here and there. It does get loud but it didn't bother our son since he had so much to do. Laser tag was his favourite. Thank you to the staff
Really fun for the family. They just put a deal on Groupon where it gave really good value, especially for a family of 5! Lots of variety in games, laser tag, roller coaster, bumper cars and even an escape room! The best all-around entertainment venue in Ottawa in my opinion.
Every time we go to this place my kids have a blast. They're aged 9 and 2 and there are games and activities that both kids excitedly run towards! The cantina is a little pricey but we always have a 5 star experience. There are games and activities for adults as well.
Had a Groupon deal for half price tokens. Had lots of fun and this place has DDR!! The poutine portion is huge and very tasty.
Very nice staffs, lots of fun for all ages. They lost a star because the sanitizer dispensers were all empty.
I'm waiting in a 30 minute line so I can buy mandatory socks for the play house. Feels like they could think this through better to make this expensive experience a little more enjoyable for the patrons, step it up funhaven. People can't give you money fast enough? Fix this! This review now has 10,000 views, fyi...
Kids enjoyed their visit here. lot of variety of things to do, the wait was bit long but they did not mind after being able to get on the bumper cars. Arcade games were also very fun.
I had fun here in the past. Last time I went on a Saturday night with some friends and over half of the machines were not working. We were all quite disappointed. The number cars were not working either. If you are thinking of having a fun night out you should call them first to make sure the machines are actually working so it's worth your the drive and time.
I used to love taking my daughter her but after going yesterday and seeing how much they hiked the price on games I have to say I'll never go again. Example bumper cars used to be $5 a ride and now it's $8.75....most arcade games prior to covid were 4 tokens and now 11. Also I noticed that they reduced the amount of tickets you get. I'm surprised they are still open especially given the amount of contact everything has from people and no cleaning involved in between each play.
Our kids are 4 and 7 and they had a blast. I can't remark on value as our visit was paid for by vouchers they recieved for their birthday but they had a blast.
Typically enjoy this place but was very disappointed as we were trying to have cake for a birthday tonight at 730pm and there was a guy clearly doing carpentry right behind on the wall. Sooo annoyingly loud we could barely talk to each other. Very embarrassed I even brought the cake out and did a birthday there.
Fun Haven is kind of small... very much Arcade-oriented. They have a small jungle gym and a little bumper car area and a small rock wall. Their laser tag is pretty cool but costs extra to whatever admission fee you pay. They have those escape stories now which I find it suitable for young children. They get SUPER busy on holidays (they were PACKED during March break), so watch out for that
Came here for a kid’s birthday party. It’s an instant hit for kids because of the wide availability of games, and reminded me of places like Dave & Buster’s and Rec Room. The host seemed friendly and engaging with the kids. However, let’s just say that their professionalism left a LOT to be desired. The floors were visibly dirty and sticky and needed to be re-cleaned (despite assurances from the staff that they were cleaned after the last birthday ended 30 mins before). The staff also forgot - shockingly - to bring up the kid’s cake and balloons!!! Like, aren’t those the two most important parts of a birthday? The manager, who looked 19, was unapologetic about the whole fiasco. It’s an OK place but it has a lot of room for improvement, and from what I’ve read in other reviews, is expensive. There are probably better places in Ottawa for kids’ birthdays.
Amazing deal. Purchased the $100midnight deal and got 800 credits. Monday madness all deals apply. Tuesday has half priced games to get the best bang for your buck (1600 credits) Thursday to Saturday open late until midnight. Show your student ID to get 10% off Sunday to Wednesday, and 20% off Thursday to Saturday.
Worst arcade game store. Its super expensive And secondly quality of games were so bad that there was no fun Like for example in the basketball game there was no air fill up in basketballs and in guitar hero the guitar buttons were so hard to press
We were 2 adults that had an incredibly fun time at the Rainforest escape room (super duper recommend, just book in advance) and enjoyed the crazy8 rollercoaster and bumper cars after. Didn't know this place was a good spot for us older folks to have fun at and super glad I gave it a try.
Great staff. I think games and rides are over priced. For example approximately 2 to 3 minutes ride on roller coaster and bumper cars will cost you around 35 credits per person per ride which is around 10 dollars and there are some games …
Funhaven Ok so they've reduced the number of people allowed in the same time. Good! But they say they do a disinfection every 30 minutes but they don't. I was there for 2hours taking a good look around and NO ONE was disinfecting!!! Sadly. So, I took it upon myself to protect my kids. Masks and gloves!
What once was a great place to bring the kids on a rainy afternoon is now a terrible experience and waste of money. All but a few of the attractions are showing significant wear and due to a seeming lack of staff the whole place is understaffed. Sadly the staff that are present are apathetic at best and seem inconvenienced by your presence. The washrooms are more akin to outhouses both on cleanliness and odor. A waste of both time and money. Avoid. There are better options closer to the main residential areas of town.
Staff is great but number if credits to play games increased but the payout of tickets is very low making it hard to even get any of the toys also alot of machines were out of order. And wish the escape rooms were available with short notice
Kids absolutely love this place. Can be quite expensive. Especially the snack bar. What upsets me (and this has nothing to do with funhaven directly) are adults letting young children in and out of the locked young kid play area. How do you know the parent is not on the inside searching for their kid in the jungle gym while you just unleashed them into the rest of the place? Maybe an employee could monitor this??. Anyway, the kids look forward to going back; not so much our wallets.
So Fun Haven is a shell of what it use to be. Half the games weren't working, no hand sanitizer to be found in the place and many people walking around without masking on, despite the signs saying anyone 2 and older needed a mask. The games they do have are tired and old, many of the working games have cracked or broken screens so you can't see your ticket or token balance. The main reason we were there was to use a Groupon for an escape room. Now before I talk about the escape room I have to mention the frustration of trying to book a time slot. Firstly, they almost never answer their phone. We called for several weeks before someone answered the phone, and we know they were open as we would see people in there when we drove past on the highway. Secondly, when they did answer their phone no one knew how to make a reservation, they constantly said call back. It took us almost 5 weeks, that's right, no misprint here, 5 weeks to book the escape room...good thing we got a good deal via Groupon. Once we booked and we're able to get in, the escape room was enjoyable. It's not as good as an actual escape room establishment, but we weren't expecting that. But it was good enough. So why a 4 star review with all of the issues: kids had fun in the escape room, price was great as we got a Groupon deal.
Decided to go with my one year old, it was okay but not much to do for a child that age. Wish they had something more kid friendly for younger kids like a ball pit or something. They definitely need more of a variety in the food court and possibly add some healthy options. Was disappointed that the rides closed earlier then the arcade..
It is an amazing place...I was there on November 13... all employees were soo friendly... I received excellent customer service by employee her name was Julie... she helped a lot and makes sure the kids left there happy. Thanks Julie and fun heaven
Besides alot of games being out of order we had a great time. I think the staff here are exceptional !!! They are alot of fun for the kids and always helpful . It's been a year since we last came and we had a birthday boy who was excited to come as we told them great things about it. We were worried with the virus going around. But the staff were on top of cleaning and sanitizing everything as soon as people were off or stopped playing games. And hand sanitizer every step of the way .good job staff .you made a birthday boy happy.
Spent today here at Funhaven and I have zero complaints, the only line ups that got a little tedious were when we first lined up at the entrance. All staff has been very polite and courteous. One game was broken they were quick to reimburse and a tech went straight to the game to fix. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Lots of fun! My 12 and 8 year old had a blast! Will definitely return. Recommend the funnest package!
Staff are friendly and always available to help. the food could use an improvement but they notify you when its ready which is great! I enjoy that they sell booze after I believe 8pm it is expensive but you pay for the convenience of drinking in an arcade. I enjoyed lazer tag as they have a 2 story arena with lots of places to hide and tag players. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to have a good time with a group of friends. overall a good place to blow off some steam.
We purchased a card and loaded with 50 CAD. You can use all the amount or can save it for later coz card is yours. Everytime you play games and it collects points so can can purchase something at the end with the points collected. The best part I liked about Funhaven was laser game that we played with all our family inside. It was super fun. There is a roller coaster that my sone enjoyed. But adult teens might not get attract since it's not that fast and thrilled. All other games can be played by adults and children both.
This place has been closed because of the corona virus. The place, when open was great entertainment for all kinds of games, arcade, virtual, bowling, served food, slides. All ages could have fun.
Fun to be....my kids were so happy .I would like to visit again when I am in Ottawa.
incredible and unforgettable! The children are delighted! thank you Natalia and Larisa!!! I want to visit you again! you are the best!
When u order food with a can of sprite, u MUST give a can of sprite and not a fountain drink. She originally handed me the can of sprite but told her I’ll take it with my meal. When u order poutine, they put more sauce and cheese crumbs (not enough cheese, like 3 cheese piece crumbled). The gravy taste good but still, don’t take advantage of people. The bumper car is 30 credits equivalent 5-8$ and only 3 mins. I still enjoyed my day with family. We spent $113.00 plus gas money, at least we know it will be our last time. Considering this was our experience. *** NO she didn’t see her pour my drink in the cup in front of me. And I didn’t even leave the eating area. I also saw other people with a can of sprite. So it’s just excuses. I even told the worker that I don’t need ice because it’s in a can already.
Fun haven is a good place to go, if u play first action I would go to to Lazar tag.
Went at 3pm on a Monday and practically had the place to ourselves. My 3 year old loved every second of the games and the jungle gym. Only downside to a quiet Funhaven is having nobody to bump into with the bumper cars.????
Fun spot for kids, good beer on draft for mom and dad
Give Chris a raise, he was awesome! ????
Vast majority of games were non-functional. They were willing to give a refund though for the credits purchased.
We went as big group and decided to do the escape room and we split into 2 groups costing 320.00. We were told one room was only meant for 16 and over as it’s eeerie and scary so one group did that one as they wanted to be scared. It was a cabin with zero scary in it and could of had a 3 year old in it. I have no clue who rated it 16 and over but it was a huge waste of money and very disappointing. I would recommend taking your kids to play there but go do a real escape room somewhere else
Took my 9 year old grandson and a friend there. They had a blast. Be aware that not all the games provide tickets that can be exchanged for prizes. The food was good. Half sizes are still quite large. Had poutine, chicken strips, fries and onion rings We were there for 5 hours. Make sure you take advantage of the 2 hour unlimited ride time. Wait times were not bad and there were lots of kids. Will be going again!
Make sure you call ahead of time to 100% confirm they are open and not accommodating a “private event”. Went with some friends visiting from out of town and got there around 8 and closing was at 10 we checked the website and the voice message on the phone which all said they were open until 10 and no such mention of a private event. We got there and someone was mopping at 8 we were like okay weird? But it was open so we went in. They told us they were closing early for a private event? Said the company had paid 2000 an hour to rent out the funhaven so we couldn’t come in.. very likely!! We ended up sticking around the area and parked our car outside the building when we came back the building was completely closed not a single soul and definitely no sight of a private event.. if you’re gonna lie so you can go home early at least make it believable lol
Had a very bad experience as the cafeteria employee rudely asked us to stop drinking our coffee because outside food is not allowed, I will never come back again to this place
The prizes that you can get with tickets are just junk, the food is not great, the icecream is not good! We use to have birthday parties here, but we found that Xtreme trampoline is better and cheaper for parties!
Honestly always thought fun haven was for kids but was I ever wrong. Been going there for the past month every Monday. Half price games, credits for drinks and food and even credits for your Uber to encourage you not to drink and drive can’t ask for a better place. Staff is friendly and always accommodating and very approachable. Will definitely be back
Great place to take the kids for some indoor climbing adventure and the best part is that is completely free. All the arcade games and the other events cost quite a bit and rather expensive. But on a rainy day your kids can go in there climb the play structure and slide down all the slides and have lots of fun. We have held a birthday party here for our kid and it was okay but not overly fantastic as it was rather unorganized in the room we had for our party meal is directly beside the roller coaster so super hard to hear anything inside
All workers are so rude just merry she is so nice and talking in a very behaved way and the nice lady when you enter But the rest are so rude and their way is so bad Won’t come back again
It was pretty fun, had fun playing games, but we had enough in about 1.5 hours. If there were more people we could have enjoyed some more laser tag, but with only 4 people it was a bit dull. So all in all, it was a nice experience, I probably will go back from time to time.
Not a fan of the open concept birthday party on the second floor. Would prefer private rooms. Not ideal for young kids.
Loved the Customer Service, they truly go above and beyond. Great selection of games and attractions
My husband and I are escape room fanatics and we couldn't believe the quality of these rooms. Normally we avoid places that seem like afterthought additions to other businesses, but these were something else. The designer(s) clearly put A LOT of thought and effort into their creations, and despite some ambient noise from the outside activities, the rooms were quite immersive and the puzzles were excellent. We couldn't stop at just one, and had to do all of them! Definitely worth it! On the subject of the rest of the facility, the games are fun and varied. However, we've been coming to funhaven for several years each time we visit Ottawa, and unfortunately we've noticed that the prizes have taken a turn for the worse. You used to be able to redeem your tickets for things like cotton candy makers and game consoles. Now, the biggest ticket items are simply large stuffies that no doubt will eventually be donated to charity by the redeemers. Other than that though, we always have a good time. And in the meantime, we'll keep saving our tickets in the hope that one day they'll start offering really good items to win again.
Went there last weekend .. I was shocked it was too crowded .. shouldn't be limits due to covid ? also i fount that not all games were disinfected after each play .. it was really horrible ????????♀️
After going to Dave & Busters in the Toronto area, I was really excited to go to Funhaven to play their arcade games. Unfortunately, it does not compare in the slightest. There aren’t many games to choose from if you are looking to just play arcade games. Definitely oriented more towards children than adults.
Lots to do! Kids had a ball! Uh no pun intended. Kind and helpful Staff. Due to Covid the number of people allowed in is limited. We respected the 2 hour time frame.
I used to rate this a 5, but I was there the other day and it was beyond packed with people. Which means, not only were we worried about protocalls for covid, but I paid $25 for a 4 year old. We went, just her and I, to celebrate her bday. We found out that the roller coaster was closed and she would not likely be interested in the bumper cars. I asked ' if we are here for just the playroom in this case, what is the cost and are there any games she can play?' I couldn't take her away at this point so had to do what I could. I was told that there were plenty on games on top of the play area for her age. Well......we had to wait 15 minutes for the play area (fine, but could have been given a heads up when paying) unsure why as jo one was in there cleaning. Also, almost 90% of the games were not working. And all of the ones my bday girl who that day turned 4 actually was able to play were out of service. So we sat patiently and waited until the play room opened. She was not happy and wanted to play, but because I just paid AND had talked about funhaven as her big bday surprise had to deal with the cards handed.
We had a blast at Funhaven! All the staff were great! Our highlight was how helpful and kind Autumn was! She answered all of our questions, was super patient with us and overall provided great customer service! Thank you Autumn for all your help!
Love the fact that when you play most of the games you earn points and the kids are able to use it to buy something they like at the end.....makes it more fun and the kids are fulfilled????????
Decent party rooms, they have private, semi-private and non-private tables. Prices are fair. Service is decent. Only thing is the majority of the toys are not working and they haven’t updated the games so they’re also a bit old. Had a great time in laser tag, which was the highlight of our day.
We had so much fun here. Got the credit from groupon vouchers and my 3 kids enjoyed to their fullest. Neat & clean space. Not crowded on Friday. Staff was extremely polite & helpful, fully taking care of sanitization. Thumbs up
Fantastic Birthday - 10 year old We had our son's birthday here with three of his friends. There is a great deal on Friday nights, the 4-pack. We chose the 'Funnest" pack, which was $20 cheaper (using that term lightly!). I know it can be expensive, but at 10, the boys just wanted to play, they are growing up too fast! So, for $180 ($200 on nights other than Friday), all four boys had unlimited everything! Laser Tag (yes, as many times as they want, our boys went in 6 times), Bumper cars, roller coaster, and they even get an unlimited game card! (yes, play as many of the games (b-ball shoot, video games, etc.)but, they don't collect tickets on that card. But, they all get a $10 card, which does collect tickets. We took them to the sundae bar (to pump them full of sugar and then hand them back to their parents!). So overall for $200 (I know, still expensive, but it was his 10th), four boys had three hours of fun (see the pics). Overall, the staff were great, took care of us quickly, each kid received an unlimited card (registered to their name). Hint: bring/ask for a magic marker, and print the boys names on the cards. You will be hanging on to them while they go into laser tag, several times! Bring some bottles of water, cut down on costs, they didn't mind at all. Running shoes (if going in the winter, make sure to tell the parents to bring shoes for the kids). Great time, our son was happy (which made it all worthwhile), and a great night out. Cheers, Jay
Today I went to fun haven with my family and I was very disappointed in the facility. It is declining in quality and customer service. The majority of the games were broken or malfunctioning, the bumper cars had 4-5 cars that were broken and laser tag has a few broken vests. Management needs to look into this as this will be a factor in rather or not we return. Our children had a great time regardless of these issues. Another thing I would like to note is the ticket redemention prizes. They really need to come up with a better system on how to redeem tickets. Everyone was gathered around the counter and this made it difficult to see what we wanted to choose. There was also a shortage of staff. There should always be a minimum of two people at this counter. I would also like it if they included more prizes in the 10-15 ticket range. It doesn’t cost much to have little candies for the kids to choose from in this range. I really hope management takes the time to read peoples’ reviews and make improvements as this place use to be a great place to spend the day but now I would consider going elsewhere. Their package prices aren’t worth it at this time.
Good variety of games, had DDR, fairly crowded on a Sunday evening
Came here from Gatineau for a fun saturday night with friends , they advertise 16+ clientele passed 8 PM .. there was plenty of kids there up until closing hour. Half the arcade games were not working , and the escape rooms were not available. Spent 100$ for 550 credits before knowing any of this. Very disapointed ...
This place was magical. That guy named Kevin is a wonderful host. He hooked us up with delicious food even though we just ate. 10/10 would recommend.
Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, fun for all ages. The Dark ride is worth it.
Very crowded in covid days... and things are expensive and mostly video games fun for kids not for adults... only laser tag game was good for adults
Good. Because of pandemia not many things for the kids and the waiting is a little too long.. ???? but other than that my kid had fun
I took my kids yesterday to Funhaven and of course kids had fun. But at the end of the day as we were leaving I saw a disgusting hand sanitizers stand which filled with bugs I took video picture as a proof. Despite, pandemic Covid-19 people should have taken extra care in terms of cleanliness and sanitation of the place. Health and safety comes first and for that reason I will never come back to this place. I recommend you to never take your children to this place. I will report this.
Awful! Waste of money. Half the games were broken. One ride operational. Addressed my concern to manager who could care less. Very unprofessional. Never again will I attend and strongly urge others to spend their money elsewhere.
HelloYou guys didn't haveLots ofLots of stuffYou guys
10/10 would recommend! The staff is great, they are super welcoming and love to joke with you. The escape room is incredibly fun. It's is a great place to hang out! Can't wait to come back!
Play structure was amazing with my 2 year old. Everything is big enough for an adult to escort a young child throughout. Arcade area, climbing wall, roller coaster, bumper cars also on site. There are height requirements and minimum ages for some attractions.
Super expensive. Go prepared to spend at least $50 per kid. Kids will blow through $20 in the arcade in about 15 minutes then ask for more... Wish there was an unlimited pass you could buy or that the individual games were much cheaper. The Wifi there isn't very good either.
We have a good time, roller coaster is small but fun. Lot of games to play. The only down side was the double racing games, only one of the two were working so we couldn't race each other. They had three sets of them and all three only had one car racing. That part was disappointing.
Booking for a party was easy but staff avoid letting people know about if u cancel then you will not be getting your deposit back but only return in credit. Brushing it off as you should be reading your email instead. Asked the staff to let the team know to mention this to client before they pay the deposit but doesn't look like she cared and still replied with you should read your email. Edit: I went and read the email. Guess what! I am cancelling 1 week before the event date and also qualify for full refund! The rep doesn't even know their own policy. Edit: the problem is that the rep does even know that policy for the refund and hell bend on giving store credit only. When asking to do a formal complain to the manager, she just smile and say "you have been refunded. Have a good day." and just brush me off. This is our 5th time booking a party here. We never had the situation where we had to cancel the event before. The service I received today was unacceptable.
Had my son's birthday party here. It was a blast! Everyone had a great time. The hostess assigned to us was great. Considering how busy the place was, we didn't suffer a single glitch. The food was typical party fair...pizzas, etc. , but everyone went back for seconds. The loot bags for the kids was a great touch.
Used to love this place, but they obviously stopped caring. Can't book escape room online ( keep getting error messages). I tried calling about 8 times and was never able to get anyone to answer the phone. Emailed them twice and never got responses. Also reached out on Twitter to notify them no one was monitoring phone or email - no response there either. And their website provides ZERO information about their COVID protocols. If you provide no information online about COVID practices and can't be bothered to answer phone or respond to emails - I can only assume you're not taking this pandemic seriously. Found much safer places to take my nieces this week and we had lots of fun there instead (Camp Fortune, Altitude Gym, Flying Squirrel, Room Escape Ottawa) - all of them had much more transparent COVID policies and answered the phone (at least within 2 attempts) to answer my questions. Edits: Thanks for your response Funhaven, but that isn't helpful. I wasn't expecting 'immediate' responses - it's been 5 days and still haven't gotten responses to my emails, and never got through on the phone after 8 attempts. I don't have other social media beyond twitter. So I can't see how one can book escape rooms or get answers to questions about COVID policies when there's nothing on your website and no one answers phone or email - from my perspective it is virtually impossible to get a hold of you, unless I pay $50 round trip for Ubers (I don't drive) to go down there in person to ask my questions. And generally in my experience yes, a company that cares deeply about the pandemic will find some way to communicate to guests what their pandemic policies are. Every other kids' place website that I looked at had this information. Why would I take the risk of going to a place that doesn't?
This place was really fun and they have great games, I enjoyed laser tag the most so I’m going back and maybe do just that for the whole day????
