This Bowling Alley is included in the category of Bowling alley.
I love this place.
Two and a half actually. Cool place for kids but don't have two debit machines sitting on the counter and tell me it's cash only.
Friendly staff, affordable, slick lanes and people of all ages!
Fun place but clientele are the worst. Always drunkenly hanging around on the sidewalk, screaming at the top of their lungs at all hours.
This place is a rare treasure.
Small but fun place. Owners made us feel welcome even offered to take our picture when we didn't even ask.
Nice place
Nice underground bowling alley with small bowling balls. Danced to the music and overall had a great time!
I took my son for his friends birthday party (5 years old) and it was great. The staff were experienced dealing with excited children and kept everything in control. They have ball launchers to help the kids out. I'd recommend it to parents for birthdays.
Wasn't even opened...
Balls kept getting stuck and had to wait for them to come and fix it which was frustrating and took away from the game time. Staff (lady) is friendly but overbearing and controlling with where u put your shoes etc, kinda like if you were to enter a weird micro managers house.
Basement bowling alley. Do you know what makes bowling better, drinking beers while you bowl! Great for a night out with a group!
A great place to have fun night of bowling.
Amazing staff, especially Wayne that took care of us. Very clean, lots of fun and not very expensive. Excellent venue for an event or get together.
Great times in a small bowling alley. Nice place for family or work parties.
Tiny bowling alley, lots of fun for small groups of parties. Licensed.
Friendly staff, clean & safe environment, reasonable price. Space between lanes is narrow at times of high occupancy. Difficult to take turns without bumping into one another or stepping foot on someone else's.
5 pin was more fun than I thought it would be. Bar is cash only, staff was great, food was middling, but fine.
Been going to this location for many years, never had an issue. Clean and fun. Defiantly check it out!
Drove 40 minutes in traffic, it was closed.........
Decent little spot for 5 pin bowling
Good fun. A little long for young kids
I loved this place. It's pretty small 6 lanes alley, so you can easily book the whole place for a group of 20+. It's not fancy, but everything you need. 5 pin bowling. Beer and wine.
Lots of fun for the kids. Fun please to bowl.
Had a great time at my nephew's birthday here!
Cute small space, great hosts. Take your shoes off at the door!
Love this little bowling alley inthe hood
Simple and easy birthday parties for your kids at this bowling alley stuck in a basement time warp.
Emailed about reservations no reply. Showed up days later and was told they had no lane. Not happy
This fall I had my 35th birthday at Danforth Bowl and my friends & I loved it so much we scheduled another friend's birthday there the next month. Sandy & Brenda were lovely, friendly and so much fun! The drinks are fresh, cold and varied and the facilities are nice and clean. Every part of the experience is a blast. The lane fees are a little more than we'd spend if we wanted to go on a weekly basis but for a fun night's event, it's the number one place we will recommend to all our friends. Oh, and the shoes are so comfortable! Great place!
Drove all the way here during open hours and the door was locked with a paper sign. Need to update their business hours on Google... I would look elsewhere until it's accurate so you dont waste driving a ton of km like us.
This is NOT a glammed out, glow-in-the-dark party place with arcade and mini putt. It's a bowling alley. You keep your own score. You meet some nice locals. It's fantastic.
Great place for an evening out with with friends and family. No food available though..
Their Google Business page said they were open and they certainly were not. They don't respond to phone messages either. Give this mom and pop poorly operated establishment a pass.
This is a great little place. It has a wonderful retro vibe that is fun and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful and do everything to make the experience fun. Grandparents, parents and kids all had a lovely time on a snowy afternoon. We laughed, danced and even bowled a bit.
Fun place
So much fun! Like going back in time to the good ol’ days. Canadian bowling style.
This place is a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be a great experience. I went for a kids birthday party and it was wonderful. There are only a handful of lanes, but that was fhe perfect size for the party. The staff also has this party thing down. Our party was one of three kids parties that day. They also rent out the space for adult parties in the evening. I am considering it for the next work event I organize.
Love this place! Great for parties.
Lots of fun in a group
An institution in the neighborhood
Will not return Strangely uncomfortable experience with owners hovering over your every move, taking your things and controlling every move you make. I attended my niece's birthday party at Danforth Bowl, and was shocked by how much the owners hovered over everyone, repeatedly telling them what rules they were apparently breaking. I have 2 children and have had numerous birthday parties, and have never experienced this before. The woman walks around calling everyone "honey bun" so much that you feel like you might lose your mind, all the while grabbing plates out from under you and throwing them in the garbage (plates, mind you, that were brought in by my sister, and that people were still using). My husband stepped out for a few minutes with my son who wasn't feeling well, and returned to be greeted by the man running over in a very unwelcoming way, as if he had never seen him before, and telling him to immediately take off his shoes. :/ It is VERY DARK in the bowling area. Please note: This is not glow in the dark bowling. It's just DARK. My sister started to cut up her daughter's cake on the table, and it was quickly taken away by the woman who owns the place, and she told my sister she wasn't to cut the cake on the table. It was an ice cream cake, and the woman said that if it were cut on the table it would melt and run all over her carpet and "I will not have that!". Um.... ice cream cake doesn't immediately melt when it's cut. Somehow it was ok for 9 children to eat the cake at the table, though, which left me feeling confused. Also, my sister looked everywhere for the caketopper that was on her daughter's cake only to find that this woman had TAKEN IT, washed it and put it in a backroom I bought my son a bottle of gingerale, and he was sitting at the table drinking it. We turned our backs for a moment, and it disappeared. I found it on the counter at "the bar", and picked it up and gave it back to my son. Strange. He continued drinking it, and the woman said to him "It's okay, honey bun. You can keep the bottle." I replied "Yes, of course he can, I paid you for it." and she repeated "Yes, and it's okay. He's allowed to keep the bottle." I guess once you have completed drinking your beverage that you paid for, the bottle belongs to them? My niece was opening her gifts, and we were rushing through them as it was a few minutes past our allotted time. There was no one else in the place, and no one waiting to come in... completely empty. The owners told us to get out, and then cranked up the music so loud that it actually hurt our ears, and stood there behind the bar staring at us with their arms crossed. It is very expensive to hold a birthday party in this place, especially considering that there is no food or drink included. More expensive than a bowling party I held for each of my children, and pizza and drinks were included (not to mention having some privacy during our parties and not having 2 people hovering over us telling us what to do, how to do it and what we were doing wrong) I will never return to this place, for a party or for myself. I DO NOT recommend this place. In fact, I recommend you STAY AWAY... unless, that is, you find this sort of behaviour comical and are looking for some wierd entertainment.
Please remember that this place is solely for the 5-pin version of bowling. It is within a Stone’s throw of the Coxwell Subway Station. small, cozy and inviting with 6 lanes. Full of 1970s retro ambience with Disco lights and even the background music. This is a mom and pop establishment and scores are kept by hand. The people running it are super friendly and nice too. Their bathroom is super clean! Full of toilet paper and soap! A Little local gem that has been around since the 1960s. Ensure you call ahead if you are planning on coming for a bowl as they are popular with parties and corporate events. Food is mostly alcohol and accompaniments.
Adorable old school 5 pin alley. A little expensive but a wholesome good time for all.
6 lanes of awesome retro 5 pin bowling. A throwback to the 70's, cozy spot on the Danforth, no frills needed, great atmosphere, lots of fun, will definitely head back for another night out.
Wish I could give them a negative score. I called them multiple times a day for 5 days straight trying to make a booking, and it has been 4 months and no one has called me back yet.
We went for a birthday party for a seven year old. The kids had a blast. They bowled, then had pizza and apple juice, then birthday cake and a dance party. This place is a gem.
Cute vintage bowling alley in a Danforth basement. Owners are really nice.
I headed to Danforth bowl with a group of friends for a Friday night date. The place has an old school classic charm. Great experience playing 5 pin bowling and the staff and atmosphere were great! I recommend Danforth Bowl for those looking for a nostalgic bowling experience.
Not the place to go if your group actually wants to bowl. Other groups are permitted to roam the lanes, frequently spilling onto your own, take selfies and use lanes they aren't paying for. Be prepared to put up with consistent interruptions from management to take group photo ops (social media exposure is clearly ranked higher than paying customer satisfaction). Despite all chaos and interruptions by customers and management alike, your lane will be shut down 2 -5 minutes prior to the end of your reservation with no warning.
Great venue.
Small interesting location. Service could be better..
I love this place! for several years I have sent children in the school-aged camp I managed to Danforth Bowl for fieldtrips -- They always had a blast and it was a favourite fieldtrip for many! I have recently joined the Wednesday Night League -- I was a tad hesitant to join a league at first as I am a beginner bowler and wasn't sure how the "serious" bowlers would take to a newbie ; however, Sandy encouraged me to give it a try and Brenda immediately made me feel comfortable. I never felt out of place as everyone is so welcoming! I am now a regular Wednesday night bowler - my average isn't the best but I have FUN!! I look forward to bowling each week as it is a fun way to keep active and socialize! The league is welcoming to all! It's an affordable activity for all! The alley is cozy and has a retro vibe and a licensed bar only adds to it's appeal!
Incredibly friendly staff. We went for a children's birthday party, and they have the organization of the activities down pat. Kids had an awesome time. Place is clean and well lit (even when the black lights on). We'll be back again, either for parties or just a fun time bowling.
Great service great lanes a must go!
It was a cozy small bowling arena and great spot to hold birthday parties at
Nice old-school place. Great white Russians!
Fun small 5-pin bowling alley with a retro atmosphere and friendly staff. Reservations recommended, especially on weekends.
A great gem in the city! My boyfriend and I love the atmosphere and friendly service!
Girls b-day party. Awesome location!!!
Super cute! Old school 5 pin
Staff was super friendly. Had a great time with the work fam.
Nice place for five pin bowling. Especially nice for kids. Staff is friendly, and the place is well maintained.
We had our 8 years old's party here! It was a blast.
Great staff, very friendly. We organized a nice event here for someone’s birthday and they made it very easy to set up and accommodating for us as well. They have snacks so it helps to set things up for you wether you are a group or 2 people. It’s very homey and cozy. They took the time to explain their system well so it made it easy to set up your group as well. I definitely give them two thumbs up. Because of the stairs and the fact that they are in the basement, they aren’t wheelchair friendly but that would be the only thing for them to improve on in the future.
Fun place, great night. Wish it stayed open later! :)
Very funny for kids
Birthday party for a 5 yr old
Small (maybe 5 lanes?), great for kids or anyone who does not do well with crowds. The glow bowl was a hit at my nieces birthday party. Friendly staff, as well.
I've been here on a double date, and had an amazing time! The owners were so kind and gave us great service. The facility was clean, lively with good music, and everyone there seemed to be having a great time. I've never been 5 pin bowling or manually scored a game, but I got to learn and will definitely be coming back. :)
Cute and cozy family run 5-pin bowling alley. They work hard. Great for parties. Limited food offering.
Nostalgia, and charm. This place is amazing. Truly authentic and fun, great priced beers and drinks. Would give 5 stars but getting in touch with them can be very difficult
Great time. Went for a little work outing. Like others have said it's the 70's (or maybe even 60's) all over again. Clean place and VERY friendly people.
Fun little place that plays music and has a small town feel.
My friends and I have fun here. Nice place.
Great service good fun
A whole lot of awesome packed into 6 lanes of fun on the Danforth just west of Coxwell. It's definitely not on most people's radar and you can easily walk by the place but down a short flight of stairs and your in. We were quickly asked to remove our shoes at the bottom and you just do as your told! Great 5 pin bowling ???? for any occasion and definitely harder to do than I remember as a kid! Can't wait to go back.
Friendly staff
5 pin good enough right. Diminishing everywhere
Booked two lanes here on a Saturday for my birthday and had a blast! The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful and they even put my name on the big standing bowling pin (without having to be asked) for some group shots. You have to keep score manually, but they tell you a very simple way to do it. Worked well and it was easy enough to keep track. There's alcohol available as well if that's what you're after. It seems pretty popular though, so I would reserve a lane or two (6 people per lane max) if you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night.
Great spot for a classic bowling experience. Rented out the place for a birthday event, and everything went perfectly as planned. Can't thank the staff enough for being so helpful and accommodating.
The manager is delightful. It's small and cosy and one of few 5-pin places in Toronto! Decent beer selection.
Great place for 5 pin.
Great place!!!
fun place
Really fun, relaxed, quaint bowling alley
I don't want you to go here because it's so awesome and it's already hard to get in. haha. I kid. It's a fun, lighthearted way to step back in time for a few hours. The two who run the place are straight up fantastic people. One of Toronto's finest places — where "the disco ball sparkles and winks." Chirp me anytime, @yovalks
So much fun for the kids!
Good Prices
Good Prices
Super fun local spot! Try out 5 pin bowling which was invented in Toronto!
Had my adult bday here and we had s blast. Plus the staff were amazing!!!
(Translated) Classic 5 pin toronto AND (Original) Classic 5 pin toronto OG
A hidden gem.
Small bowling alley but full of charm and very comfortable spot. They only have 5 pin bowling a and no computer system or anything so you keep score yourself on paper and pencil. Pretty fun to hit the reset button yourself! And this also means it's very flexible so you can practice or switch up the order/approach to the game with your friends. All the balls were very light. There are beers, cocktails, chips, fries and chocolate bars. Maybe a few more foods. The only thing I didn't like was we felt rushed to leave, with staff coming over a few minutes before our window was up and demanding their bowling shoes back.
I am a small town girl that just lives in a big city. This place place feels just like home!! Its cozy, the Christmas lights are a special touch but, its the kind and welcoming staff that make me want to come back again and again! Yeah!
Make reservations!
I have hosted birthday parties & staff parties here. The owner is always accommodating, you can bring your own music (ipod) & they will stock the bar with any special requests you have. Just make sure you stretch first!
I had such an amazing time at Danforth Bowl. It was recommended to me by a friend and a group of us went together. I have been a few times now and it is such a fun night. The music reminds me of when I was young and all you want to do is dance while you are at the bowling lane. There are beers too at a really good price. The honey garlic chicken is so tasty and the staff even provide complimentary chips and pretzels. It really is a great way to spend a night and I am even hoping to have my birthday here in March. Thank you Danforth Bowl for a great time, see you soon.
A bit tight and crowded, and the turnover times should be staggered to avoid the giant lines and loss of time at the lanes. Still it is a fun place and a good price.
A lot of good wholesome fun
A hidden gem in Toronto. Brenda was a terrific host for our groups belated staff Christmas party.
Super cute mom and pop bowling place. Reminds me of grade school birthday parties.
My son always comes home from their parties, happy as can be. I thought he would have outgrown it, but he hasn't.
Such a great place to have a birthday party! The staff are wonderful, the kids had fun and it was a lovely experience.
Did not like the experience, very over crowded and not organized
Courteous and friendly service.
This is your classic bowling alley with the friendliest staff! They serve beer!
Feels like home.
Vintage, small 5-pin. A fun night out, always.
Stopped in today without a reservation. They were fully booked but were able to squeeze four of us in for a half hour. Friendly staff like Brenda and Wayne made my experience a great one. i had a pretty crappy game and plan on returning to redeem myself.
Place may as well be considered a hidden gem! Came for a friend's birthday and they had booked the whole place. Besides 5-pin being an evil game compared to 10-pin, the staff was very helpful explaining the scoring and making sure we were having a good time. Great idea for medium (20-40ppl) birthday party.
I came in on a whim with a party of 6 and had a great time. The owner was really friendly, everything worked great, and I'm really glad I went.
Been here for a Christmas party for work and I must say it was awesome! Never played 5 pin bowling and I loved it. The venue is small with only 4 lanes but it was fantastic. The staff was friendly and they also served drinks and food and very accommodating and allowed us to bring outside food. Would come again.
Smelled pretty wierd at first; a mix of moth balls and urine but it was really clean and those working there were very nice. Great place to have a kids party.
Great service and really nice staff.
Nice place. Great service and really nice staff. Thumbs up
Small place for Canadian bowling, very famous and always busy. Friendly staff
Great place, clean and fun for the kids!
5 pin bowling, 90s music, pizza and beer- if you were born in the 80s this place will fill up you nostalgia cup.
Great bowling.
The place was great
Great little boutique with an old school feel. Very small, book a couple weeks in advance. Reasonable alcohol drinks too! Good times! Feels like someone's huge basement from the 70s.
Fun atmosphere. Good 5 pin setup.
Great for kids! Small, playful kid area.
It's so cozy and the employees are great!!!
Pizza was great. The place is decent for kids. Plus the glow in the dark is nice. Just could be a bit more big, and door was open so it was a little chilly. But very kool place. I will be back. ????
This place has been here since i was a child and the same owners, Staff is super friendly, amazing customer service and the music is great!!! My 3 yr old bowls there and LOVES it. Try to reserve before you go as its always a busy HOT SPOT!! Totally recommend it!!
This is the best 5-pin bowling alley in the city, hands down! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the music is fun and they always decorate for the holidays. The place has a fun, retro, kitchy feel. I live in the west end and it's always worth the schlep across the city!
Nice little place. Only has about 10 lanes... Maybe less. You can rent the whole alley for parties and events for cheap. The staff is great. It's licensed as well.
False advertisement. NO PARTY ROOM! the website said 1 hour in party room.. when I went to check it out in person.. not a party room in sight. Smelled like cigarettes and beer!
Seemed nice and friendly when we dropped in to take a look, but we've been trying to get a hold of them for a few weeks to book a birthday party and it's proved impossible (calls, emails, messages, etc.). We're going to try one more time after Xmas then give up.
Lots of fun for all ages in the East end. Have been to two parties hosted here and from what I gather every patron had a great time. :)
This place is an absolute gem. Bowling fan or not, you're guaranteed a great night here. The old school alleys and decor make for a scene from the Big Lebowski. The music will make you want to dance in the lanes (think CCR). Beers available and go nicely with the complimentary potato chips. Most of all, the staff make you feel right at home and couldn't be more friendly and accommodating (especially Brenda & Wayne). I've had countless amazing nights here with groups of friends and we keep going back!
47 out of 10, best bowling for 5 pin anywhere, ❤️❤️❤️
Left voicemails on numerous occasions to try and reserve a lane and have never received a call back.
Had our sons 7th birthday there and it was an awsome experience. The staff was amazing and extremely nice. They also helped us with facilitating the party. Highly recommend Danforth Bowl!
Business does not pick up the phone or respond to voicemails.
Amazing Experience, such a great night and very warm and friendly hosts who were more than willing to do anything to help us, including free snacks to go with our beer. Will be back very soon!!
Great family outing.
I've been here before years ago, and was always happy with the service. I wanted to plan a birthday party and rent some lanes and I have been trying to get a hold of the business for two weeks now - I've called five or six times, left 2 voicemails, an email and even filled out their inquiry form on their website, but still have not received a phone call or an email back. If you don't live in walking distance I wouldn't recommend this establishment because they are very hard to get a hold of!
So great. The staff is amaz8ng
Booking a birthday party there. Owner very helpful
Total disrespect towards clients: I've been trying to find out if the place is available for my son's birthday party for several days in a row, sending an inquiry, leaving a number of messages on the phone - all in vain. There was total ignorance in response. It appears that the owner could not care less (even if the place is fully booked, it would be nice to demonstrate some basic courtesy by simply returning a call) - it is so unprofessional and disrespectful! Huge disappointment!
Yummy food and I had loads of fun.
First time there, definitely not the last. It was an amazing experience and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
$20 for 30min of bowling per person? What a joke!
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff, and it does get quite busy later into the evening, so you may want to call ahead and make a reservation. Will definitely go there again.
Very bad service!
Staff was sweet and friendly, decent prices, good music. We had a lot of fun :)
Great little classic bowling alley!
Great family run business. Friendly and accommodating. Wonderful place to hangout and knock some balls down. Love it!
Great staff and had a great time!
Hidden gem. Exactly what you think it is, just more retro
Nice little bowling alley, five pin only. Photo of front counter.
What a delight! An unexpected treat/surprise....spotless, fun staff, welcoming, well maintained, reasonably priced!
Very fun.
Great place will be back soon
They don't pick up the phone and they don't call you back to reserve lanes. The most unprofessional bowling alley in Toronto, bet it's a dump.
We had the whole alley booked up and it was a blast. Great service and really fun atmosphere. There's alcohol available for purchase. We saw a lot of people (not part of our group) try to come in to be disappointed because they had to be turned away. It's 5 pin bowling and old school where you track your own scores and you have to press a button each time to reset the lane.
One of the last places in the city to play 5 pin bowling! Helpful staff and cheap beer make it a great night out!
No hours posted???? How am I supposed to know if you're open??
Neat place we need more of these in Toronto great time
Fantastic family run business. Friendly and accommodating. Wonderful place to hang out and whack some balls down. Love it!
A place to enjoy a day of bowling. The owner is wonderful.
A great find snuggled on the Dan 4th period a 5 pin bowling alley that has been here for many years. You still keep score with paper which is fun. They sell snacks and have a liquor license. They host groups and leagues. There are only about 5 lanes so best to call ahead to reserve.
A step back in time. Small, intimate, great for kids parties. I love the neon lights. The owners have been here forever, and know how to get the kids organized.
These guys are great!! Very friendly and the place is always a barrel of monkeys!!
Great old school spot for 5 pin bowling.
New Years Eve was spent with 12 friends bowling under the disco lights and the over- sized illuminated bowling pin that said Happy New Year 2015. It was a fabulous photo opportunity and indeed a joyous and fun filled evening not soon to be forgotten. In fact we had so much fun I have booked 2 lanes for a triple birthday - anniversary - valentines extravaganza. It is the perfect place for a party or get together it is intimate and cosy and you feel right at home. A gem of a place in our hood.
This place is worth giving a shot....
My friends and family always have a riot there! The staff is Great, Thanks Wayne!
Lots of fun and really friendly owners. If you haven't tried it, give it a go!
Safe environment and friendly staff. They made our birthday experience very enjoyable.
Grayson's birthday party was fabulous!
This place is a hidden gem! I highly recommend this place. I've been to bowling alleys all across Canada and this place is so special! The staff were so nice and kind, real honest genuine people. The atmosphere was perfect and the price was so fair! You have to go here!
Great retro place, small so call in first. Booked our entire extended family to go there for family day and had a great time.
Had so much fun bowling here with my friends that I decided to join a league! I'm so glad I did. It's always a great time, whether it's league night or a night out with friends. Also a great place for families. Excellent service and really nice lanes.
A hidden gem of the neighborhood, Brenda and the team are lovely and a delight to deal with. For those finding it tricky to book via phone/email, I recommend dropping in (if local) when they're open and they'll find you an opening.
It was a lot of fun and the staff were really friendly and added to our enjoyment. Great place for those who bowl (and like us, those who don't).
Does this place exist? We've wanted to book a lane at this place on three separate occasions...and got nothing. Made numerous calls, left messages, sent an email or two...nada. No responses or anything whatsoever. Walked by it and it was closed in the middle of the day. What gives here?
Every time I go, it's a great time.
Tiny bowling in a tiny bowling alley! Cute, comfortable, and fun! Wonderful location for a holiday party! Highly recommend!
Totally fun, but not cheap.
Had an amazing time, great staff and owners. Mid way though our bowling game everyone they got all the kids together to dance to cha cha slide and gangnam style lol. I honestly couldn't recommend this place more : ) thank you for being awesome danforth bowl !!!
I celebrated my daughter's birthday there and it was the best experience. They toke care of everything and made the children have a amazing time. .. there is music everywhere and dancing ... it's a happy place to celebrate. I highly recommend this place if you want to make a celebration stress free
This place is so much fun and where I'll probably come for my birthday. The guy who runs it is also super nice :)
So much old school fun, and fantastic service from the staff!
Friendly staff and fair pricing for bowling and beverages. A great venue for all ages. Cosmo bowling in the evenings. Reservations are welcomed.
I went their with my friends ( Workers ) And unfortunately they had private beer And we where allowed to have them free ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I recently held a portion of my birthday party at Danforth Bowl and we had a fantastic time! The folks that run the place were great to deal with and I would absolutely go back. It is definitely retro and kind of kitschy, but that is the charm of the place. Great music too!
this was my second time at danforth bowl, both times we recieved awsome costomer service ! the owners are super sweet and the pizza was delish! deffinitly goomg back soon:)
Good place for kids, parking is problem.
Great bowling alley close to Coxwell subway station! Had so much fun on our first visit we came back a few days later and had a great time again. Friendly and helpful staff, very nice lanes and a fun atmosphere that's perfect for any occasion. I'll definitely be back soon!
