Great for kids but for adults they only have 5 Ten pin lanes and around 9 Five pin lanes so the ten pin lanes get booked up really fast so get there early for ten pin lanes. They offer a variety of kids size bowling shoes and have the ball ramp for 10 and 5 pin lanes for the kids to be able to bowl. They offer cosmic and regular bowling

I have called them for the reservations on Sunday evening. The lady on the call said you don’t need any reservations and can just come in. However, when we reached there after driving 20 kilometres the person in charge of the cash counter refused to let us in because I didn’t make reservations, which I tried to make earlier by calling them. It was the worst experience.

This bowling alley is at least 30 years old at the same location. This is very Kids friendly, especially they have more 5 pins lanes than more of the other bowling plave. All their Staffs I come into contact are friendly. They can get very busy during holiday and school holidays.

Great for big parties or even pairs. Not too busy during peak hours but suggest you will need to call in and book/reserve. Machines work very smooth rarely does error occur where staff is needed to assist.

Fun place, nice owners but the hourly rate is very expensive. The shoe rental isn't included. The pins are on strings (a little outdated) and tangle. When they tangle this time spent waiting for the pins to be fixed isn't added back to your expensive hour of bowling. Other than that it's very fun, clean and well maintained!

Pretty standard Bowling Alley. There's way less 10 pin lanes than the 5 pin lanes. It's good for children's parties as there is a lot of 5 pin lanes to host a large party or school trip. Just note if coming casually to check if they have space available. $40 per hour per lab max 6 people, plus $3.00 shoe rental. Pretty expensive.

The bigotry and racism experienced by my family at this location is beyond disgusting. The owners are extremely rude and disrespectful. They wouldn't give us a lane even though the entire place was empty. They don't know how to treat their customers...Definitely not going there again.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced, the Lady Manager (Owner) was very rude. I had to bring in my daughter's food & drinks cause of her allergies, she could have told me in nice way that outside drinks are not allowed but she literally yelled at me inspite of me saying that I would take it back to my car. On top of it she lies to the host that I was rude That women needs a course on customer service. Not a friendly environment.

Great place to bowl casually, and for families. Not really suited for adults since it's pretty cramped. Half of the bowling alleys there are clearly meant for children since the bowling balls and pins are so small.

The place is falling apart. But it's even worse that the staff, who appeared to be an owner of the place, blamed us for breaking the lanes. Once the first lane stopped working, they asked us to move to another one. In approx. 15 mins, another lane stucked. Then, the owner came to us asking what we've done that the lane broke down giving us bunch of attitude. After, we just left the place not even finishing the hour we paid for. We are not coming back ever even if it would be for free!

I had a free 2 game coupon so I decided to use it, and I have to say this place isn’t too bad. The lanes seem very old and doesn’t have a lot of oil on them compared to other places but the house balls they have are actually really good compared to other places. Usually house balls are all plastic but this place has a variety of balls, which some are actually worth money. Idk if people leave it here cause they don’t want their balls anymore or Markham bowl buys decently good balls.

Never recommend this place to anyone. Our bowls didn't return and took them half an hour to fix it. I just noticed from others reviews it's a common issue there. The owner made some racist comments sarcastically when we asked extra time. He need to learn the business ethics. He won't last in this business if he runs like this.

Fun place. Standard bowling alley. A funny smell for certain. It doesn't feel clean, but I'm not sure comparing it to competitors would show an overly clean enviroment with all the rentals. The clientele is on the young side and requires a certain amount of patience. Be aware when you attend if you're more focused on just bowling.

Not LGBTQ+ friendly. Tried to come here with my girlfriend, were both holding hands as we walk in. The person running the place (not wearing a mask, older white dude btw) looks us up and down for a good 3-5 seconds and giving us a disgusted look. He then says “fully booked guys, I’m done for the night” mind you it was only 5pm, this places closes at 10. And we can CLEARLY see there are multiple lanes open. We just said “ok” and left, didn’t want to support a place that is discriminatory. Just a warning to you guys.

We had a group of 12 that attended for a birthday. Three lanes were reserved a week in advance. When we arrived we were told there was no reservation and that they were full for the rest of the night. We had phone records to prove that we had spoken with someone at that location but we were ultimately turned away.

Be caution, you coupon doesn’t apply on weekends. They will not tell you on the coupons. We received a coupon and 5 of us came down here on a Saturday. After waiting approx 5 min in line the senior staff told us we couldn’t use the coupon on weekends, which on the coupon no where stated such thing. His attitude was very rude “ you can call tomorrow and tell my manager” and absolutely does not give a s** about customer service. The other younger staff yelled at us when asking what size of shoe we wanted. Will never come back to this place nor recommend to friends.

I had a child birthday party at this place. I brought my own chips and bottled water. The person said no outside food and drink are allowed because of allergies. Allergies? How can water or chips cause any sort of allergic reaction? They sell the exact same product at their snack bar. Basically they want you to buy things from them which I completely understand but I just felt very upset that they have to be disingenuous and use that whole allergy angle. the place itself is okay it's a little bit musty and the lanes aren't maintained that well. For a kid's birthday party it's okay but anyone who wants to take bowling the next level I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere

Great for kids and families! Last time I went there it seemed a little dingy, but it's a nice and cozy and the staff are helpful and friendly. We also hosted a huge birthday there 2 years ago and both our child and her friends (including their parents) had an unforgettable time! They played my child's favourite movie in the party room, accommodated last-minute guests with extra food and whatever that we needed. Very experienced and efficient staff with parties. We were minding our own business and didn't pay attention to what type of clientele they mostly had. Evetutgibg seemed fine and the event went without a hitch! Thank you Markham Bowl!

Im not even sure they deserve a 1 star rating. I brought my nephews son and neices for March break and received the worst service. Understanding it being March break it wasn't even busy. They had 2 young kids working and were quick to take the money but not to set up the monitor with their names. We paid fir an hour and got 45min. Kids were so upset. Spoje with manager who was extremely rude and condescending. Mentioned timer starts as soon as monitors on. Seemed t9 dismiss the fact that his employees did not enter the kids names until 15min later. Ive never seen such Terrible service over 15min. Visited today and we were very impressed with their measures to keep customers safe. Sanitizing between groups and keeping people far apart. Sanitizer at every lane too. Manager was extremely nice and friendly. He seemed to care a lot about our overall experience. I'd definitely visit again. He food was also very good.

Nice place to bowl. Two of the rudest people there Corning for customer service. I assume they’re the owners, but they are the most miserable and rudest people there. Booked the lane for an hour, once our hour was up, we wanted to renew our lane for the next hour. When I went to ask, I was told that “I wasn’t the only person in the place” and he turned away. I understand if they were busy but the two lanes next to us were both empty (they weren’t broken). The song choices there are pretty bad, as it seems like they’re stuck in 2006. My friend and I got the rudest glares walking down to the alley, as if we were bothering them by being there. The woman there proceeded to give my friends and I a bunch of attitude as she told us to get out because we had drinks with us. You’d think these people would have better customer service being the owners, but they’re clearly lacking. Please, DO NOT GO HERE! If you have the option to go elsewhere, GO ELSEWHERE!

Went to have a good time bowling with friends but was completely disappointed and annoyed with the rude people using the other lanes. One such person James .D was crying and complaining about a sore pinky and losing which was causing a major commotion for everyone else. One of the most disrespectful owners I have ever met. Shocked at how they talk to their paying customers when there is a disagreement. Went with the whole family there and the owners gave us a reservation for 3 hours from the time we got there. When asked why we can't get an earlier slot as we could see on the chart there were earlier availabilities. Was told to our face they don't have time for this right now and asked us not to create a scene when I thought we were just having a conversation. I asked for their names and they gave me a business card saying if I can read then their names are on there. I walked out with my entire family. Def not spending my money there.

Very poor customer service. We were late due to traffic and the manager/owner, Jeff was very rude. Especially when you are coming with kids and the kids are eager to play, you expect "owners" to be a bit understanding, but he wasn't at all and told us we would have to pay for a full hour and only play for 12m. Clearly he didn't want to help at all. Avoid this place. There is a ton of local places worth your money with better facilities/service.

Seems like your typical run of the mill bowling joint. Went there with guys from work to play some 10 pin over the lunch hour. Not a modern place and has that classic feel. Lady at the counter was pleasant and approachable. I would have no good reason not to go back aside from the fact that I rarely bowl.

Unfriendly environment went there for the first time and had a very bad experience we called them and made sure that the lanes were available and when we went there they said 10 pins lane are booked for group of people for a party we requested them but they said its booked for 60-70 people and they gave us 5 pins lanes. We were there for an hour but dint saw a single person belonging to the party has arrived. Very bad service and its costly too for such a small untidy place. I will never go again

Came here on a Friday night to bowl with some friends. Service was not very friendly, particularly consisting of a manager and some high school kids. We were directed to a lane, and I then realized nobody around us was wearing masks. The manager had also taken off his mask and was talking on the phone with someone, and staff were walking around with masks beneath their chins. Masks are not enforced once you're inside. This is awful, considering you're sharing bowling balls with the people in the lane next to you and you're tightly packed. This place looks run-down, like the son inherited the bowling alley from his parents and never changed anything about it. He doesn't even care about the health of his customers. Save yourself the money and go somewhere nicer.

Was on my way into Markham bowl when I witnessed a couple being escorted out by an officer. Turns out they were mistreated by the staff, the young couple were given an unfair time since another group was prioritized even though they came much later. The officer couldn't help even though he knew who was in the wrong all he could do was escort the couple out. The manager said and I quote "since the young girl was on her phone she was seated later" which makes no sense to me she was just waiting. Also she was there first and should be served first. Just because the young girl was wearing a head scarf she was treated differently. Can't believe this is still happening in 2020 racism isn't a joke. Hearing this just ruined my night I can't go and enjoy my night at a place where other people are being treated differently just because of there culture.

I witnessed at least 2 of your children run down the lanes trying to kick the pins down with their feet!! I was the one who approched the counter with my concerns for your children's safety... I also watched you and the other fathers who were there go for "smokes" every 5 minutes while your children were unattended..... Your comments are untrue and you should apologize for what you wrote.... And yes... we were the family with 19 bowlers there..... The sign says it’s closed at 1am on a Friday night, but the doors were locked when we came to the location at 12am. We knocked the doors to no available representative. Also called the location several times to no answer nor option to leave a voice message. Disappointing! Do not recommend at all! If I could give zero stars, I would.

This place was okay. We got there and it was kind of small but thats whatever. But they said it was $40/hour on sat which was more expensive than any other place ive been to. And then they were out of lanes with normal sized balls. So we had to use the junior size ball lanes. It looked like there was maybe 6 lanes woth regular sized balls. Also no discount in price for that issue. Then the lane they gave us, the screen for the score didnt work. But we made the best of it and still had a good time

Not friendly and unhelpful stuff, decro was out dated and more than half of the bowling alleys were 5 pin bowling (Who bowls 5 pin). When I was here, a league booked all the 10 pin bowling alley and don't allow non-league people to play 10 pin. Oh, and the super out dated 5-pin green screen computer wasn't much help neither. Avoid and get to a better bowling alley.

DO NOT GO HERE! Chances are, you won't get a lane. Two of my friends and I went at 8:30 to get one lane after checking the website for events. When arriving, there was a sign on the door saying that they closed at 10 for a private. We went to speak to the owner and he was dissmissivley rude. We asked for just one lane for an hour due to the event taking place and we were rejected. The owner was very rude saying how he was making 4 thousand dollars for three hours and made us feel that he didn't need my patronage. He is definitely not in the business to allow people to have fun, he just cares about making profit. Point is, I will not be returing here and I will be passing this story on to everyone.

I was there yesterday when this all happened.... I was behind the gentleman who stood there for 15 minutes making a scene because one of the owners would not admit that his wife or sister was wearing something on her head. My question is.... If he wouldn't admit she was wearing something on her head.... Then clearly he didn't notice it..... Which kind of means he wouldn't have any reason to be called what you are accusing him of being..... Also.... To whoever wrote that the family was being escorted upstairs by the police.... That is 100% False..... The police arrived about 30 min after this all occurred... Although our day started out as a little awkward at the centre, my family and I would like to thank Markham Bowl for a very enjoyable Family Day.... And we will be back!!

Honestly a pleasant surprise. Well kept, glow in the dark, kiddie lanes, clean, owner was super friendly and nice. We went in a large group and he was very helpful. Shoes are in good condition and cleaned well. I didn't get to try anything on the menu but looked yummy! The outside of the building kind of throws you off but once you get down it's way cooler than expected.

It is exactly how I remember it from when I was a kid. The guy at the counter was super nice and cracking jokes while we paid and got our shoes. The counter for food and drinks is a little expensive but it’s a bowling alley. They let us stay a right until the end as well even though they had a party coming at 9, they didn’t cut us off until 5 min before which was an extra 15 than we were supposed to have.

Came here with my family and the experience was worth it. We had so much fun. The service was friendly and courteous - employees were attentive. The facility and washroom were clean and you can order food (a plus). Overall, tge place was very well maintained. I'd recommend this place to anyone I know.

Awful! It was my first time here and it was my early birthday, and the female manager blamed me that i needed to have better ''manners'' even though i didnt say anything! I really did not like this. This was a horrible experience and i think the staffs are more nicer then the managers. I highly dont recommend this place EVER. Never coming back. I suggest the owner fire this manager because she is so rude and she talks too loud which tells me shes trying to yell.

Absolutely awful place. The place looks poor and disgusting and so overpriced. Go to World Bowl instead, much cleaner and friendlier establishment. The food quality tasted like garbage too. Such a waste of money.

Markham Bowl is a great little bowling ally in the heart of Markham, they offer both 5 pin and 10 pin bowling at a very reasonable price, the staff are very friendly and i have never had anything short of an excellent experience at Markham bowl.

Were told to come at 10, we were approximately 10 minutes late since we were coming from north of newmarket (this was our fault understandably). When arriving we were very apologetic, and said we will wait if others have taken our spot. We were told we would not be allowed to bowl as they shut down their payment system and are unable to bill us from 10:10 to 11. (keep in mind there were many lanes available). We told the manager as we were 10 minutes late we were willing to pay for the hour until 11. We were told no. It almost felt as though they did not want us there. It was quite disappointing and confusing since we came from so far away.

We got an hour of bowling for 40 bucks on Saturday and shoes were like 2 dollars per person to rent. Seems too expensive for just an hour IMO.

Went there today and it is the worst customer service ever. They are very rude and unprofessional. They do not know how to deal with people. I couldn't believe when Jeff canham threw the shoes on the counter. I am shocked that he would behave like that at a kids party even if we were over our limit. Just charge us for extra..... so unprofessional. I would never go back there.

I think this place is Awesome and have never had a problem great for friends meet up on a Friday night. I have also seen the great work by staff when the Dream community which cares for our disabled come in .I was also disturbed to see that someone had mentioned racism because I have never experienced it there and to look at someone without knowing their genetic history is wrong .At the end of the day it is all about helping each other out and teaching our children the Golden Rule which is to treat others just like you want to.be treated .Here's to another Bowling catch up with friends and a place where you feel like Family great job !

Came by on a weekday around 5. Had an ok time, the decor is and the systems are dated but it's all right. Why this warranted a one (or zero!) star review is the staff. We were greeted by a gentleman to get our game set up and everything was good. When we left, we decided to give the ancient pinball machine a whirl and play $1. The machine ate the coin and we reported it to front desk. Everyone essentially said the machine isn't theirs and dropped the conversation. An older lady (owner?) said they will call the machine vendor "tomorrow" and that's it. There was no apology, no recourse no nothing at all -- and she even had the gall to say they're not going to lose a dollar (reimbursing us) because it's not their machine. One dollar. Even on the basic principles of good business you would apologize, especially since the customer already spent $50 (drinks and an hour game) at your establishment. For one dollar, this review now sits as a terrible black mark on their record. Avoid.

Not happy with the service. Chose this place because it stated on its website that CAA members receive 15% discount. Great deal! However, upon our visit, they told us that they are not able to take discount yet?! So we paid full price and enjoyed our stay. FYI, BEWARE of the misleading advertisement on their Markham Bowl website.

we went there with 4 kids today. I had the worse experience. There was 2 staffs tonight. One of the staff a scruffy indian/south asian guy was extremely rude to us. Erroneouly the kids took on 4 seperate lanes, and they approached the kids to tell them that they shouldnt' be playing on all 4 lanes, instead of telling me. And then the scruffy indian staff approaches me and says exactly this "if you kids dont' stop playing on the other lanes we are gona kick you out" I almost dropped dead at this moment. I found this air head's comment to be extremely rude, offensive and unprofessional. I would never go back there for bowling and I will also be writting about my experience on facebook and other social media that I am involved in, so that my family and friends are also warned and avoids this place. Very unhappy with the service, and offended. I can't believe they would have unprofessional staffs such as these, how would they expect to make a profit........... Date: Oct 6th, 2020 I just noticed your response to my ratings and comments today. There are several things you mentioned inaccurately. 1. Our staff did seek an adult member that came with the children, however there were no adults in sight-----> This is incorrect as there was always 1-2 adult designated to look after the kids while the others went for a smoke. It’s possible that you did not know whom to approach because of the large group we had. 2. The staff did not take the time to explain to us that we would have to pay for separate lanes separately, which is why from the beginning we used 2-3 lanes at a time---->Staff only approached us 20 min after the kids were already used to playing in 2-3 lanes to let us know that they are only allowed to play on the one lane. This was not set as an expectation from the beginning. Again poor communications from the staff. Had we known we would have prepared our kids. Once kids are used to playing in a certain way, it is much harder to change it later. This is something you need to consider for your next customer and be sure to be kind and courteous. Finally I want to reiterate on the behavior from your staff, which was always the focal point. Was it courteous to tell a group of 4 adults with 4 kids that “If your kids don’t’ stop playing on the other lanes, we will kick you out” Nope. Was it justifiable to use those words under any circumstances Kick us out? what are we animals?.What kind of training are you providing them with? Did you apologize to me for your staff’s behaviour? Nope. What you did is try to defend your staff’s misbehavior and rudeness with some additional misinformation about our group. You need to review your policy and come up with better practices, tell your staff not to behave the way he did, because it was utterly rude and we felt bullied by his behavior. Nobody should have to hear such words at a place where they are suppose to feel like a guest. I wish you best of luck with your practice and I hope you find ways to improve what’s lacking.
