I had first tried Insomnia Cookies when I was in college at Michigan State University. I am now living back in Grand Rapids again and have ordered from the brand new Grand Rapids location on Ionia Ave twice in less than 24 hours. I have loved Insomnia cookies ever since I first tried them in 2016 and I now have a 1 year old that has baby approved their cookies!

If there was a one star option I would use it. I waited 15 minutes at the counter and nobody helped me, 2 employees were sitting maybe clocked out and they both went into the back but nobody bothered to mention I was waiting. I left without cookies because of lazy teenagers who couldn't care less about their job.

Emily was my server and she was friendly, professional and even recommended a Christmas type cookie, gingerbread!! I am so happy this place is in an easy to find location! They are known for late night cookie delivery!! Since it is Christmas time, I’m hoping they will have a frosted Christmas cookie available soon!!

Just a heads up if you plan on contacting this store directly.The phone number listed gets routed to an unhelpful call center. I was on hold waiting for near 30 minutes to speak with someone just to check the status of my ordered that stated it was delivered [it wasn't]. They attempted one call to the recipient and ended attempts after that. I thought I'd be nice and surprise someone with the valentine heart cookie but ended up spoiling the surprise by having to ask if they got a delivery.. I wouldn't reccomend, definitely NOT a delivery, pick it up if you can.

Wish I could give them zero stars, for their customer service, or lack thereof. We've ordered from them a couple time in the past. Their cookies are good. Not great, but good. Obviously, the main appeal is that they deliver, and do so late at night. Their delivery always takes WAY longer than it should (an hour or more), but has always come through in the end. However, I placed an order tonight. After waiting an hour and a half, I finally got a message saying my cookies were delivered. I checked outside my door, and there was nothing there. I called the local store and the girl I spoke with said "they should have been delivered to " I confirmed that the address was correct, but I hadn't received the cookies, so they must have been misdelivered. She said something about how they are using Postmates for delivery, so they couldn't just have the order re-delivered to me, but if it wasn't too far out of my way, I could come to the store and they'd give me a new box. Again, literally the entire point of their business is delivery, so that wasn't going to happen. I asked if I could just get a refund, and she said I'd have to call Insomnia's customer service. I asked how to reach them, and rather than having their number handy, she said I could just google it. Very helpful. I finally managed to track down a number for customer service, and spoke to a woman who was very friendly, but ultimately not very helpful. She said she could have them resend my order, but that since theh were using Postmates for delivery, she couldn't guarantee it would be expedited, so it might be another 90 minutes. At that point, I asked if SHE could just refund it, and she did. Hopefully. I just can't believe how difficult this entire process was. I don't even blame them for delivering to a wrong address after 90 minutes, but they should have had no problem sending a replacement out. The fact that I had to jump through hoops just to talk to customer service, and ultimately received nothing but a refund is ridiculous. I will absolutely never spend a dime with them again.

An incredible experience. Never before have I been so thoroughly not just with my cookies, but with the service through which they were delivered. The driver for my order, Logan, was faster than a flash of light, and when she got to my door, box of cookies in hand, she bowed and held them to me like Atlas. “I’m so sorry it took so long,” she said, “I hope I didn’t ruin your night.” I was lost for words. I had only just ordered the cookies. What was she talking about, I wondered. She was sweating profusely and looked on the edge of tears. I had no extra cash, but if I did, I would’ve tipped her generously, so I offered her a bottle of water and one of the cookies. She said no, that she had other orders tonight and couldn’t afford to get comfortable. She had a duty to serve, and she was going to deliver these cookies if it killed her.

So, last night, 2 people that I thought were my friends were plotting my downfall. The police didnt believe me and i thought "hey, why not eat some cookies for a last meal?" I order the cookies delivery. As I am paying for the cookies at the door I hear it. The shattering of glass. They're here. It's at this point that my delivery driver, Logan I believe her name was, reaches in to the box of cookies. As my two friends approach me, from the box she draws a katana, or a ninja sword for all of you non-anime watchers. She fended of my so called "FRIENDS" and saved my life. Overall it was a 5/5 experience. Would order again.

The cookies here are served warmed and chewy. So good! The employee was friendly and knowledgeable about the company. It's a great place to go if you are craving a cookie. Update 6/2/20 Wanted to stop in and grab a cookie real quick because I was passing through. The restrictions posted on the door are so extreme, I just turned around and left. Only one person is allowed in the store at a time, so my fiance and I wouldn't be allowed to enter together, you must have a mask, and you need to order it online ahead of time. So if you are going here, be prepared. We went to the site, but there are only a few flavor options and they are all huge packs(we just wanted two cookies) . The earliest pick up time was over 30 minutes away. I understand not wanting to spread/expose people to the virus, but if you're going to go to this extreme, you might as well stay closed. It'll be a miracle if this place doesn't go out of business.

I placed an order at around midnight to pick up an order for 12:30. When I arrived on time, the cookies I ordered hadn't even been made/prepped and the girl at the counter ran to the back to throw together the Bigwich that also hadn't been prepared for pick-up. It didn't seem like they were all that busy seeing as there were numerous employees just standing around in the lobby doing absolutely nothing, so I don't know why I have to wait around for an order that they had more than enough time to fill (just six cookies plus the Bigwich). Although the cookies are quite good, the customer service is complete garbage.

Dont bother placing a order ahead for your fav cookies, they have no take out register so you still have to wait in line for your order...i was about number 29 in line at 945pm to pick up my order....I had to call and cancelled my cookies since i wasn't going to wait an hour to get my cookies that i preordered!?... now I'm feeling very hangry...

The first time I went here the line was out the door and they were very disorganized and didn't even have a line so everyone kept going in front of us even though we had been waiting for over an hour. The second time I ordered cookies on the app and paid for them and an hour later we got a notification saying our delivery couldn't be completed. We called and they said that "delivery was unavailable" and that they would refund us. Not impressed.

Ordered some cookies at 11:15 pm. Waited for two hours. Get four phone calls from an unknown number who doesn’t leave a voicemail, so I ignore it thinking it’s my boyfriend’s roommate trying to prank me. Another hour passes, I check tracking, and it says it’s delivered. I go in at 2:00, the manager comes out with an attitude, saying the driver was calling me and didn’t get a response so they left. Now mind you, I was in the front room of a Campus West townhome. They have notoriously thin floors and walls, so if they had knocked or rung the doorbell, there is zero way I wouldn’t have heard it. Not to mention that I sat on the bed scrolling through Facebook for three hours in silence so I wouldn’t make miss the door bell or a knock, AND the window was open. I get that it’s new and a wait is expected, but a) try knocking on the door to deliver food? And b) leave a voicemail if they don’t pick up a strange phone number maybe? I went in person a few days ago and that was fine, which was why I gave them two, not one. But this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Edit: ordered again, 01-26-2020. Had an issue ordering, received double my order. Was double charged for my order, tried to call to tell them something was up with their website only for the only phone line given anywhere to be an unhelpful closed call center line that kept me on hold for 30 minutes. I won’t be buying from them anymore. I’ve adjusted my rating from two stars to one.

Interesting concept.. fresh cookies open until 3am. I had a traditional "cookiewich". It was tasty but was very sweet and I couldn't finish it. You can easily eat half or 2/3's of your daily caloric intake in one item.

My fiancé and I ordered 4 cookies and when looking at the screen I could see she rang us up for 6 so I let her know and she said no that’s the price for that type. So my fiancé put his card in the machine and I asked how many she gave us and she said 4 so I said we were charged for 6 and she was like oh I must have hit a button. (Understandable I get it) So she says “I throw in some free cookies, at least you’ll get some cookies out of it!” Which they were not free since we were just overcharged for them but whatever we left because I don’t like to argue. I get home and they didn’t even give me the snickerdoodles I ordered. They gave us 2 of the 3 kinds we ordered and the exact amount of cookies we paid for so basically they acted like they helped us out after overcharging us by giving us exactly what we paid for(except not really because not all the kinds). We were visiting friends and live 2.5 hours away so we don’t plan to go back but I would suggest checking your order before you leave.

Every once in a while you have this unique experience. Not setting grand enough to be life-changing but something that you look back upon fondly for a long time. Examples might include an earnest praise from a stranger or the warm embrace of a loved one. For me this memory comes from insomnia cookies. I originally ordered insomnia cookies on a whim. A late night craving in a stress fueled week if exams. Granted, I had my bar set pretty high, after all it's hard to mess up cookies, but my expectations were completly blown out of the water. For starters the driver, Logan Owen, was the most polite and friendliest person I have met in customer service. Additionally, the cookies were delectable and definitely satisfied and my hunger was satiated. Overall, I would definitely reccomend insomnia cookies. If you're a night owl with a notorious sweet tooth you would be doing yourself a disservice by not trying it at least once.

I hardly ever order delivery. Delivery had taken everything from me: my friends had all been swayed away from me by the sweet promise of having products and services delivered right to their door. "Let's go for a drive" I'd say; they'd replied that they were having food delivered. I used to hate delivery because it took away the relationships I had worked so hard to build over long drives on the quest for food. But this was before Insomnia delivered to my door. There was one driver who changed my perception. Her name was Logan. Logan delivered to me on time and promptly was able to get me my cookies with ease. Logan noticed that I had a distaste for delivery and did everything she could to remedy that; she taught me what it means to have friends who you can trust and love. She didn't just deliver me cookies: she delivered me my life back.

I’ve been let down by their delivery twice now. I’ve ordered cookies and have had cookies missing both times. The first time I called and they said they would deliver the missing ones. (2 deluxe cookies) but they never showed. Needless to say I was upset. I was willing to give it a try again but again I was missing a cookie. A regular one this time, but it was still missing. I probably won’t be ordering from here again for a while.

The cookies were delivered only about 5 minutes after we placed the order. The cookies were warm, soft on the inside, and a little crisp on the outside. Perfectly made. My deliverer (Krista) actually drove up to my building instead of the nearest parking lot, which no other delivery people do. Thank you Krista.

I ordered a 12 pack with a variety of cookies. Delivery was about 45 minutes late, but I wasn't expecting it to be fast due to other reviews, I wanted to give the cookies a shot. They are very good cookies. They only had one driver so the delivery is going to be slow right now, but worth the wait. I will wait at least a few weeks to give them another chance so they can get more employees as they just opened this semester. Could definitely be a 5 star if the delivery was fast.

Insomnia Cookies is out of this world good! What a great addition to the Allendale area! First time in over the weekend and I was impressed! Very high quality cookies and ice cream with a huge amount of variety to choose from. I got an ice cream cookie sandwich and it was absolutely delectable! Service was fast and friendly. Definitely will be back next time I need my sweet tooth fix!

I was walking back from the liquor store and passed Insomnia. I had this craving for insomnia for the rest of the day and decided to cave and ordered some. The delivery person, I think it was Logan, was very prompt and delivered my 4 delicious sugar cookies and 2 classic with M&Ms. I ate 4/6 of them and saved the rest for later. It was a great morning snack. It went well with my Bud Lite Orange tall boy I got from the liquor store. Overall, very satisfied with the service and quality of the cookies.

One of the worst experiences I've had with customer service would probably be here. Let me start with what happened. Two weeks ago I had ordered some cookies for my roommate for her birthday. I had charged it on my boyfriends card, because it would've been her gift. We weren't there, so it would be a surprise for her when they were delivered. I had called her and asked if she had received anything and she was confused. Checked the tracking and it hadn't updated. I proceeded to call the number on google, which kept me on hold for about 30 minutes with no response. Decided to call the next day about 5 different times of the day, no response. Called the next day and next day with still no response. I even tried to call different grand rapids locations with the same problem. Had I not lived in the area, I wouldn't have been able to go in store. I then proceeded to deal with my problem in store. The blonde girl was very nice and tried to help me with my issue. She called the team lead to help, yet being the team lead, did not help my issue, and frankly wasn't very helpful at all. He took my phone to see the order, came back, and said he found the order and was silent. Didn't offer the cookies and didn't offer a refund. I had to ask what the next step was. He replied the refund process was difficult and could result in me not even getting a refund. I was already very angry and just asked for my cookies. I ended up getting stale cookies that tasted like they had been sitting out then stuffed in a microwave to be "warm." Left with some stale cookies, no refund, and horrible customer service. Overall, I will not be ordering again from them. Their advertisement saying delivering until 3 am is a lie, they stop delivery at 11pm. Also, most of them continually kept taking their mask off and on again with no washing of hands or new sanitation rules. Horrible experience and will not be going back. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Do not get a delivery from here. Ordered at 8:30 on a Wednesday and am still waiting now at 11pm to receive the cookies I ordered. Had I known delivery would take over two hours I would have never wasted my money ordering these.
