To this day this firm gets a rating of 3.7 stars over 5 and this rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is really high, and it is founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may think that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are happy, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to give reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Bowling Alley is included in the category of Bowling alley.
The black light bowling is very cool. The staff was helpful and quick when the pin reset stuck a couple times. My only complaint was the washrooms need an update and better cleaning.
Come for cosmos night bowling Saturday night you won't regret it. Such an awesome family vibe here
New / Current staff are very friendly and helpful ... Relaxed atmosphere and decent selection of balls. Any issues with the pinsetter / ball return was dealt with quickly and we weren't left waiting for more than a minute or two. When I was having the game of my life, our time expired on the lane on the tenth frame ... one staff member, (who was not obligated by ANY means) took the time to record and calculate our final scores ... THAT is good service. Any negative reviews I see here and most likely those impatient folks who feel that any minor inconvenience is a travesty and post a review here out of spite. Go out for a few games there, there's nothing but a good time waiting ... and don't be a dink, the staff are good people and if you think you are special - maybe you should stay home and play with your Wii instead!
Love working here and mingling with our customers. Smiles make the world go around. Here's your first Strike. ????????????
It was a pretty good time, minus the balls not coming back to us about 5 or 6 times, kept getting stuck.. seemed to constantly have problems with the pins not setting back up correctly. Could use some updating or something ..
I always have fun when I come here. The price is always good. The service is great. The best part is when the bar is open. :P reasonably priced drinks. Fun for the whole family!!!
My mom and I took my niece there about a month ago and we enjoyed playing bowling... Only thing is that the alley is very hard to locate the building, even after asking multiple other businesses.
Best place to be when you need to bowl
Good place to bowl!
Very rude and didn’t tell us it was cash only on the phone.
Great place to go for fun! Take the kids, just a nice place to have a bit of fun or birthday party for the kids.
I love the fact that they havent renovated this place in years........It's what a bowling ally is meant to feel like. Please never change anything except the opening hours of the bar!
Need to clean wood floors way more.. No grit
Nice staff, clean place.
It's a bowling alley.
Decently priced and most of the pin-setting machines work consistently. Not lane 2 tho.
Really fun
Nice, clean facility and staff. Had to reset the lanes more often then not, though. If you go for Cosmo bowling later on a Saturday night, be prepared for the regular lights to come on and the music to go off 20 minutes before close, which was somewhat disappointing (maybe that's not a regular occurrence, though). Reasonably priced, would go back.
One staff member not so friendly ( older female). The young girl behind the counter very friendly & eager to help. We had constant issues with the ball return not working but the great attitude & quick response by the young lady made it less irritating.
Wait times are ok and the prices are good. The lanes seem a bit longer but it's fine.
Great Cheap Bowling if you can put up with the occasional technical hiccups
THE CLOVERLEAF SUCKS! IT'S A RIP OFF.???? Go to PROST.
Had a great time with friends, laughs, some beers and ordered out pizza. Perfect Friday - Saturday nite out.
Friendly staff.
Fun, would be cool if you could use a card there!
Had two lanes booked for six people 2 who showed up late but the other 4 were waiting. The person on the desk put the four on one lane and when the other two arrived even though we had not started she said she could not put it as three and three. My friend was able to put the third name on the lane but half way through out second game the lane turned off. When we asked what had happened she said because we added the extra person all the frames were taken up. We did not use the frames on the other lane and she didn't fix the issue. We were there for a birthday so half the people there sat and watched the other half finish. It's a shame it is the only place in town or we wouldn't be back. What can you really expect from a bowling alley on a weekend. We were going to ask for a refund on the frames left on the other lane but I truly believe the employees would be incapable of understanding that .
Busy on Tuesday and Thursday
Just got a pop
Very busy old school bowling lane
Four times in a row we were not allowed to bowl for various reasons. We would call ahead and they wouldn't answer and then get mad at us for not calling in ahead. Horrible service from everyone.
Regular bowling alley with one exception; all balls are equipped with child-sized finger holes.
Great place, staff at counter was very friendly and helpful. Had a great night out with my family.
We were advised to get 2 lanes for 7 people, for one hour each. However the balls for the kids got stuck at the back of the lane and we had to wait for 5-10 mins in order for someone to fix it. This happened 4 times. We only got to round 8 and the machines turned off. When we asked to have our time extended due to the technical fault on their end we were told that they wouldn't do it and that this problem 'happens to everyone'... Overall unfriendly service and no accountability for technical errors which were not the customer's fault. Not overly busy - there were free lanes - so giving us an extra 2 rounds just to finish our game would not have come at any cost to them.
Had a great family experience.. definitely will go again..
I would leave a zero if possible. I went here a few years ago & it wasn't 'bad' considering. Recently went to inquire about reserving for a party. It was deplorable...disgusting, woman was rude as hell & to top it off, no reserving and they only take cash -(which is a new thing) so seems very sketchy! None of my family or friends will go back, there are other places
I have always had great experiences at Cloverleaf Lanes. Staff is helpful and friendly. Location is clean & equipment well maintained!
Good league lanes are dry ball returns are old and the place is hurting bad
Nice place and good prices(I paid 32$ for 4 people + 20 for second round) but the bad thing is it only accepts cash (there is an ATM) For this reason I gave 3 stars otherwise4. I cannot talk about food and others as I did not have it. The stuff are very nice .
Had a great time...
Getting old with very few improvement
Classic bowling alley ???? with options for 5 pin or 10 pin bowling. Staff make you feel like family, prices are reasonable and is my go-to for a Monday afternoon bowl sesh
Fun time but only takes cash.
Everything was ok, some staff were more welcoming than others, but my main concern is that a few members of their bowling league were actually wearing baseball caps with conferderate flags on them! I suppose this is not illegal, but I was bowling with some Black folks, and all I can say is that my heart sank when I saw people actually displaying their racism on their clothing. I'm wondering if the owners would take a stand against this kind of thing by putting up some signage showing their support of their Black customers. Perhaps some Black Lives Matter posters? Think about it :)
Equipment didn't work properly and understaffed. Wouldn't recommend.
Had a blast with the fam here
2 pool tables at the back, wicked people. Good times.
Average bowling alley. Nothing special, but clean and reasonable service.
Such a unique place here. Loved the old valley billiards tables. I also find it interesting that the 5pin lanes are in a seperate area.
I tried to book from 1 to 4. For a family birthday First off on the phone she told me it was a first come first serve so I said ok shld be no problem coming then. It was for today at 1 pm At 1.23 I get a phone call I missed it trying to get last min things before we went remember first come first serve we were willing to take the chance as we were running late opening presents I listen to the voice mail and it's you booked you didn't show don't ever book again So needless to say we aren't going now well go elsewhere.
Great alley.
Plenty of lanes of different types of bowling available at a reasonable price. Could certainly use an update, but it was quite busy. Be sure you make a reservation as it was packed on a Tuesday evening. Also they only take cash! There is an ATM onsite, but you're better off stopping at the bank.
Great place for all ages. Took the whole family!
They are bad a clearly explaining pricing. Ask lots of questions before paying. Hard to find a comfortable ball. Lanes are ok.
The spacing was good between lanes but they needed more spray bottles for disinfecting the balls
have not only played here for years when i was young, but also take the grandkids and they love it, highly recommend!
The staff are excellent snd the prices were right on for a family budget!
If you want to reminisce back to your 12th birthday party when you went bowling, this is the place to be. 2/2 would bowl again
Prices seem to ve different everytime I go! Sometimes more sometimes less?
It's a good spot to chill out with friends for a bowling game. The charges are a little too much though for one game. I'd go more regularly if they had better prices.
Pretty good place. Friendly staff and good food.
We had a blast! Great vintage bowling lanes and wonderful to have both 5 and 10 pin lanes.
They need better pool tables that's for sure . Played on 2 out of 3 tables that they have and I gotta say is they would be better off buying a $100 kids pool table from Walmart! When hitting the balls it seemed like the table was made out of sand instead of the balls rolling they basically would die or they would roll towards the one side of the table it reminded.me of putting a golf ball! Plus there was literally 2 pool cues to use so it's a good thing other ppl didnt come play or we would hafta share cues. Then there was only 1 bridge cue but it was broken. Like WTF? As for the bowling lanes I cant say anything about them. It's awesome that they have 5 pin bowling that is always a good time
Outdated but hey its bowling whatever
So great for kids!!
Great place for kids bdays. Fun place to spend an afternoon
Fun time to hang out with friends. Low prices make it better
It was good but seeing how they clean there shoes was gross....
Overall seemed well run. Could use some renovations.
Great social distancing protocols and very friendly staff.
Fun night but place is looking tired.
Lanes are inconsistent and lacks a good snack area
Fun!! Bring cash! Unless you want to use a sketchy ATM that charges a ludicrous amount per withdrawal.
Great place for kids to have fun
We really enjoyed ourselves, my only drawback was finding bowling balls with large enough holes for my fingers. But overall was alot of fun and decently priced.
Good time
Went there for a date night and noticed a few things. One; staff is great to deal with. Two; equipment is great. Three; staff is great, and I know I said that before but it merited a second. Played a few games and asked for some tips and made some small talk. Got some pointers; as a normal person that doesn't bowl this was great! Drinks were a bit pricey for domestic but unlike Prost it wasn't a dive. All-in-all had a great time and as a novice definitely would go again for another trip. After 9 though wear some white and fun stuff because those blacklights are cool. 5 Stars; reccomended.
Friendly staff, good lanes
Our Service Experts Bowl-a-thon for Make-A-Wish went on without a hitch - Thanks to the staff at Cloverleaf Lanes (Sylvia & Jessica)
Not a bad place. Older bowling balls are a little worse for wear. Beer is pricey at over $5 per bottle for domestic.
The lanes are very greasy and not the cleanest environment I've seen but the staff are somewhat friendly
Run down, dirty etc...
At the Cloverleaf bowling alley , my friend group and I had encountered rude, sarcastic staff who refused to service us although the bowling alley was nearly empty. Very unprofessional , would not recommend.
Just a full size full 10 pin bowling alley. How many of those are left? Not many.
the bar was closed the one night I was in. dirty balls. but it's the better of the bowling alleys in kingston
Fun for the family. Food was closed, unfortunately
First time going to cloverleaf lanes , clean and inviting environment with friendly staff. Great place to go with friends/family , kid friendly Offers both 5 and 10 pin bowling , arcade games & pool table available aswell.
Incompetent staff malfunctioning equipment. Cash only which is totally stupid these days.
Great Jobs.
Gets the job done. Nice folks.
Never be treated like that in my life, holy damn services !!! How can a business work under that kind of services. Only thing I want to say " this place is full of races, employees are not only lazy, but also being pround of being assholes" What a shameful business, even it is the only one in downtown, I quit playing bowling rather than go there. The reason I wrote that much commons, because I really really hate that evil place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome lanes and service. However, when we went the bartender was awful!! Besides him everything was great. Very good family atmosphere and a good place to hang out with friends if you want a different thing to do for a night, very fun and inexpensive way to spend an evening
It's only enjoyable if you go with enjoyable people lol atmosphere is a little grundgy. Kids sleeping behind the bar or upstairs. Pool tables are closed the majority of the time. If you want to bowl drunk without hassles its the place to be. Everything in thst place needs to be steralized ???? but if your drinking you'll notice it less.
Busy, but no bar open, and only takes cash. Needs to move into the next century. Bowling is a blast though
Good fun, it's been a long time since I have bowled. Really need to confirm the prices as we were miss quoted over the phone that what was said in person.
Fun
As bowling alleys go, this is a good one. The cafe has really well made food.
Got drunk, lost someone elses shoes, strained my wrist, completely sucked at bowling, had a great time. 5 stars.
Fun place... Affordable price
Lots of fun and the staff is nice.
All i did was walk past the place i think it stinks and need a good cleaning
Great family or group place
I could leave a worse rating that one star, I would.. They discriminate against people with disabilities. If you have children living with autism, or any other medical condition which prevents you from wearing a mask, you will be harassed. I prefer when business make others feel welcome, and don't treat you like a leper. I used to love going to cloverleaf, now its a completely different place.
This is the second time we went here as a group. The first time the staff wasn’t particularly friendly however what we experienced the second time was completely unacceptable. Our point system wasn’t working properly and after explaining this and kindly asking for a solution (e.g. restart of the game & new lane) my friend got yelled at, the staff raised her hand at my friend and a restart was refused. This was an extremely upsetting experience and we wish for them to reconsider how they approach customer service.
Fun place to get together
Go here if you want your money stolen, and not to be allowed to bowl!! Tried to go bowling with some friends for my birthday. Staff was rude and didn't listen to our requests. I had friends who had not yet arrived, told the cashier I wanted to pay for everyone so my friends could join when they arrived. I paid $62 and when my friend arrived, she was told she still needed to pay. I asked the cashier what I had paid for, she continued to be rude and then shut off our computer so we couldn't bowl the games we had paid, then refused a refund. Called the 'manager' who told me he would look into it and call me back. Still have not received any resolution, nor refund.
Great bowling alley for family and friend fun! Prices are decent and not too expensive ! The staff are absolutely wonderful and the alley itself is clean. Can get busy on weekends can always call ahead to see how many lanes are open! Snack and bar are available which is also decently priced! Pool and arcade are also available at this location! Great place for some competive fun!
Only complaint is that there is no debit but has an atm...
Since moving my league to Kingston's Cloverleaf Lanes several years ago, I have been very impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff is! They are always willing to help, and do their best to keep up with any issues that the lanes may have. Changes in both management and staff over the last year have been very positive for the lanes, and they are improving things on a regular basis. In response to mr Qian's review. I run a league at Cloverleaf, and was present at the desk during the confrontation that brought on his posting. On nights where there are leagues bowling, you must leave two empty lanes between league and public bowlers. Mr. Qian was unable to use the lane he wanted and he threw a fit, calling the staff racist for not allowing him to do so. He also seemed inebriated. I stepped in and tried to explain the situation to him as well, and he became irate with all of us. The staff was very friendly and tried to explain the situation to him as best they could. He would not listen.
Horrible Experience. Extremely unprofessional staff (one lady in particular). Very rude and actually yelled at customers for no reason. Would not recommend. The manager should be embarrassed.
Friendly staff and very fun atmosphere. Many laughs were had :)
No beeakdowns
Ok
This place is a joke! There are 3 of us here, one being a child aged 7. It was over $50 for us to play 3 games... and that $50 could have been better spent somewhere else. The computer for the lanes does not work, making us have to change lanes multiple times. When we complained to the lady at the front desk, she laughed and said there was nothing she could do, that it was their computers. This is unacceptable customer service. $50 is a lot to some people, so to come and have this happen, will make us never come here again. Maybe since they charge so much to play, they should take some of that money and invest in fixing the place.... and getting new shoes since the shoes they gave me are half falling apart! So to anyone reading this... save your money and go somewhere else that appreciates the business and isnt a waste of your hard earned money!
Went bowling, when we showed up the staff was on smoke break and we had to wait ~10 minutes for them to come to the cash. We learned that they only accept cash and there is no refunds under any circumstances, big red flag but we proceeded on. The balls and the lanes are in poor condition but the most significant problem is the malfunctioning machines, some examples of these malfunctions are; Lanes shutting down before the game is complete Lanes and computers becoming out of sync causing score issues and turn losses Pin re-setters constantly placing the wrong amount of pins down on the lane Ball return not returning balls Pin re-setters dropping pins into the lane after pins reset Pin re-setters completely malfunctioning and stopping play These problems are apparent in other lanes as we witnessed one group request a refund after a mere 20 minutes of playing. Finally after we struggled through our games and having to request assistance from the maintenance man several times we were instructed by an employee to put our balls on the racks for them. All said and done I had pretty good time as we were able to keep a light mood and just roll with the catastrophe that is cloverleaf lanes.
Had a wonderful evening of bowling with a large group of friends. The staff were friendly and accommodating to our needs. Look forward to doing it again! A big thankyou to Sylvia and the staff for making our evening a huge success.
Fun and friendly
Not the newest alleys but the staff made our tournament seamless and straightforward and it was a wonderful experience, again !
Expected bowling and got bowling! 5*
Terrible service at the front desk. Refused to do more than one transaction for group of eight. The place is dated, hasn't been updated for decades. The balls were greasy, old and left a gross feeling on your hands. Skip this place.
I need to go bowling more often. ????
The women was rude. No debit
Poor and rude service and the pin collectors kept malfunctioning.
If your into overpriced bowling in dirty outdated venues, this may be the place for you! We were willing to overlook this, but ended up leaving after the staff ignored lone enough we decided to go elsewhere.
Over priced, Horrible service, horrible food ( was burnt and nasty and waited 30 mins for a pogo and fries.. ) . Given a broken lane and was refused to be moved to another one
It has a great vibe for friends and family
Lane 1 kept in breaking down. No beer sold
Run down, negative staff. But was still fun
Its becoming run down and sad looking.
Friendly staff, facility is getting tired. Needs some infrastructure updates.
Love to howl
Fun bowling experience for the whole family. Well lit, reasonable prices and just right busy to let us enjoy our experience. I would highly recommend this location.
One of two bowling establishments in Kingston, they are your go to place for both 5 pin and 10 pin bowling. Throughout the year they have different types of league bowling. Very reasonable prices, restaurant, meeting facility. Great place to bring your family. Open bowling available too.
Great place for bowling. I took my girlfriend on a date here and the staff was very friendly. Large selection of bowling balls for everyone. It’s an older place but overall it was a great experience. Bring cash because they do not take credit cards or debit.
Go to visit friends
Worst customer service experience of my entire life at this place on Sunday evening. One of the staff members was outrageously rude after we spent over $100. As a long time City of Kingston resident, I will never step foot in their doors again. I recommend others to do the same.
Only bowling alley in Kingston. Lots of lanes
Good music, fun atmosphere. Does not take debit or credit as payment.
Fun place, bright lanes
Fun. Crazy night time lights. The blonde I met was hot
Tired decor but fun. Bathrooms were clean. Food was very limited. Glow in the dark is only available too late at night for younger children. Did a birthday party ages 5 to 7 and the kids tired very quickly of waiting there turn. We were allowed to bring in craft supplies and our own cake as they do not offer this and we were able to use our party room to fill in the rest of the time as the kids only got through one of the two games of bowling that are included with the package. I'm glad it wasn't very busy because we would have had trouble keeping track of the kids who were tired of waiting for their turns to bowl.
Cash only
Busy bowling alley. Make sure to check if leagues are running and if lanes are available
Plagued by hardware and customer service issues. Do NOT suggest. Lane broke down multiple (read: many) times and were declined to switch lanes for our second game from 5-pin to 10-pin. Go ANYWHERE else in Kingston, ON. Save your money.
Good place to bowl. Have had a couple problems with reservations on Saturday evenings, but I still go back :)
This place seems to be an older establishment. I did enjoy playing on the lanes, the balls were all different weights, I had a hard time settling on one. I'm not a avid bowler and am unfamiliar with what would suit me best. The pool tables were fun, I wish the upper level was open later, or that we had known sooner that they would close at 5pm. Also fyi this place is cash only. The bar serves alcohol but not soft drinks etc one must go to the vending machines for alternative drink choices.
They have created a safe place for people to have fun and enjoy themselves.
I love it on Sunday nights but today was way too busy! They didnt have any open ten pin lanes and the five pin was terrible.
Needs a major shake up ! Maintenance would be a start open the restaurant up oil on the lanes would be good. Lanes are always breaking down . The owner needs to step up and do something .
Great bowling alley, friendly staff. Cash only but they have an ATM inside. Convenient location
I made a reservation online for 7 p.m for a large group of people on Saturday, but when we got there we were told that our reservation was not inputted into the system. We had also called the bowling alley 4 times throughout the day to confirm but there was never any answer. The lady at the desk did not try to compensate our wasted time and told us to come back at 9. I never go out of my way to write reviews but I'm very disappointed. What was supposed to be a fun night out with friends was ruined by the company's mismanagement and disorganization.
Horrible customer service. Lady was rude and used profanity in front of children . Total waste of my time and money .
As far as bowling lanes go...it's what you are look g for
Great bowling alley. The kids had a blast.
Lots of fun, helpful staff!
The service is quite bad—most workers are unfriendly and unhelpful, and don’t rely on the bar being open/available.
Good place to have fun. Fair price for a good time.
This place only accepts cash !!! Nice big bowling alley , lots of lanes , including a few pool tables. But the whole place could use some renovation , its a little outdated. Also the seats are not very comfortable. The game kept stalling because balls and pins would get stuck in the system. But overall we had a really good time and had lots of fun (i won ;D)
Darlene is an angel!! We had a few hiccups during our game and she was always quick with a solution! She definitely made our night and left a great impression, we'll be back for sure :) Pricing is also very reasonable and they had a good concession selection.
Is this a joke? This place don’t accept any credit card! Cash only!
Fun. Little dated. Definetly need a debit machine.
Aging equipment lead to multiple stoppages in play. Plus the computer screwed up scoring multiple times. But staff was friendly and the facility was clean and otherwise looked after. Just needs a freshen up to get more stars.
I enjoy going there. The people are very friendly there. I'm glad I joined the summer league. Will definitely return
We go here a lot however the last few times it has not been fun. Price is to high for a place where you need to reset the lane every few throws. Told the person who works there and she told us "To just play who cares whose turn it is. I found that rude we paid a lot of money to play the game the right way. The stuff sucks and are not as good as they use to be. To top it all off we even had to fight to get our discount when we have the club card that we also paid for. Thinking about just giving up on the game just because of this place.
I took my kids here twice over March break. The staff were very friendly and helped us with any questions we had. The entire 5 pin area was filled with families with children having a great time.
Nice bowling alley but the girl at the cash was really rude.. We booked ahead but when we we went to pay they said we had to be fast as another group was booked to close to us.. They did not apologize and in fact gave us attitude. She also tried charging us for shoes twice and when we pointed it out she was even ruder.. Not impressed
Older building but it is kept clean. Facilities are good, lanes are good as well. I would give a higher rating but the customer service there is lacking. That is the one weak area. I do recommend the place though. Alot of fun
The bowling lanes malfunction frequently and the staff are unwilling to help. If you cannot complete the game they will not add on even a single frame. I do not think I have experienced worse customer service. Also despite advertising food being available their kitchen was closed. You should seek another bowling venue if at all possible.
Awesome place to bowl
Great night of bowling
For labelling themselves a "family establishment", one would expect better service than that of which we received. The staff was extremely ignorant, openly rude to members of our bowling group, and the manager was next to impossible to reach when we went to voice our complaints. Having bowled previously at their sister lane, MacArthur Lanes, in Ottawa, we went in with high hopes, and were extremely disappointed by the treatment we received. I wouldn't recommend spending your money here, and it is disappointing because it's the only lanes close to downtown, where students and young professionals live and work in Kingston.
Great place! They only take cash but have an ATM.
Affordable and a lot of lanes. Also has 5 pin and some arcade stuff and pool tables. Serves alcohol is a plus!
Friendly, quick service, clean. Balls are gouged from age, but still plenty of fun to be had! 5 or 10 pin bowling, arcade games. Snack counter wasn't open on Sunday, but didn't look to be functioning for a while, so, call ahead if you want food/beverages that don't come from vending machines.
Best bowling in town - 5 and 10 pin offered. Pool and air hockey also available!
I have had a really bad experience here with my friends. They did not provide us proper lanes suitable for our group before we started, thus, our game was interrupted in the middle of our game, they did not proceed to solve the situation and we had to leave earlier, played less than we paid for.
