Kids were having a lot of fun at this place. Lots of kids in the arcade having a great time. The bowling alley was all booked up. I would strongly suggest to make a reservation because you don't know how busy it will be when you arrive. There bowling alley has the most high tech gadgetry I've ever seen. They had lots of cool animations on the screen that you can choose. They don't play 80s/90s music. It was all newer stuff for the kids in one side, and on the other side we could hear the jets game live. Definitely a lot of fun, butt it was also pricey. It cost 60 bucks on a Friday night for 90 minutes. It's not something I can do that often.

Bowling here was so much fun! My family and I did NYE here but I also have gone with my cousins to bowl before 8:30pm (there's a good deal for bowling if you go before that time!) The arcade has lots of fun games and it's nice that our tickets don't expire so we can save up for a prize we really want. My cousins and I split a poutine and it was decent for the price! (Just under $7 and the gravy is tasty!) Lots of parking out front. I'm glad the owners of Academy built this great space!

Had our company holiday party tonight. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The bowling was well enjoyed but the laser tag was a huge hit in the group (and a workout!). The arcade is a must. Pizza and wings were super tasty and great portions, plus an order of nachos which was absolutely massive. Would recomend over and over again.

I've only been for food. The Tapa burger is always amazing! Plenty of Tapa meat, the rice patty gives a great crunch, tapa sauce is slightly sweet and the fried egg has a runny yolk perfect for dipping the two spring rolls in. All in all an amazing burger that I highly recommend. The pretzel bites were very underwhelming though and the cheese sauce was very runny. I threw them in the fridge for a few hours and it made a much better evening snack. The flavour and texture of the cheese dip was better after refrigerating. I still wish the pretzel pieces were a bit..... more. Flavourful? I did notice one or two pieces had topping, I wish the rest had too. As always though the customer service has been phenomenal. Employees are super friendly, attentive and accommodating!

My family had a blast at 5 pin bowling . The lady in the front was very friendly. She helped us with purchasing a groupon. I like the spacious parking and the washrooms are very clean. Overall, we will be coming back again to try the arcades.

I had my company Christmas party at Uptown Alley and we did the Kings Feast premium buffet for 65 people. The prime rib was delicious sooooo good and the rest of the food was very impressive. They did serve buns with no butter but maybe they forgot I guess we should of asked. You would think differently about food coming from a bowling alley but it was actually really good I was VERY impressed. They served 65 of us no problem and bowling was fun but the lanes were very slippery mayne needed a mop. The lanes and screens were very modern you take pictures of each player before your start and they put funny cartoonish little shots on the screens. I have never seen that betore and it was pretty hilarious. All in all it was a win I highly recommend this place for your company or personal functions. Good job UPTOWN!

Uptown alley was good and practicing covid protocol, workers consistently cleaning and sheilds were up separating alleys seating area from other bowlers. The arcade had good games and kids enjoyed it. The kids enjoyed the whole uptown alley and it was fun, even for parents. Definitely enjoyed it ????

I’ve been here a few times and have only had positive experiences! The last visit was on St Paddy’s day. When I’ve gone it’s never been crowded. The boots are spacious, there’s food and drinks at decent prices, and it’s fairly clean. The bathrooms are very tidy. They have 10 and 5 pin. The website is a little confusing and the place isn’t anything extraordinary which is why I only rated 4 stars.

A bit expensive ($43 for 1 hour for 3 ppl including shoe rental= 2 rushed games in total). Try to attend during discount hours i.e. Fri/Sat bet. 11pm-1am since it's half price. Good deals on food, some discounts on drinks during specific hours of the week, but that's it. Nothing special. They've installed partitions between the lanes to minimize Covid spread but honestly there's no other measures in place besides sanitizing your hands upon entering and exiting the facility. I would like to see an all price charge for all 3 activities (like Uputz has) i.e Laser tag, bowling, & arcade credits. Instead it's priced separately which makes it more expensive. ????????????

Lots of lanes to choose from. We ordered the two team platters and the food came out quickly and tasted ezcellent. I would recommend that you book a reservation in advance because it was quite full a d e en though we wanted to bowl another hour there were several reservations they had to go through. Overall great quality and an affordable price. Will go again and check out the laser tag and arcade for sure!!

Had our daughters birthday here. $400 plus tip for 2 games, pizza, pop and a $5 arcade card for each of 12 children. They allocate an employee to assist with our party, who were okay. Basically only popped by once in a while to see if we needed anything. My wife and I ended up clearing the kids’ plates after pizza ourselves as the assistant was busy chatting with the other staff. Although not sure if that was part of the package or not... Overall fun party, but seemed expensive for what we got. The kids enjoyed the interactive lane monitors as well.

FUN! The bowling is typical, except you get to use your own picture to show yourself on screen in funny animations. The arcade is a blast!! And the staff is cool, fun and helpful. The whole experience was lovely. Also they have a fully stocked bar so... that helps.

Biggest complaint is that I felt bad for the workers, they all dress in rather drab "Chucky Cheese" esque outfits. The place is pretty nice and presentable. Have your people looking good as well.

Cool space lots to do, but a little pricy for 1 hour of glow bowling. We barely finished our round when the next group showed up to remove us from where we where playing. No option to continue for an extra half hour and the lane beside us was empty. Food prices are typical for this kind of venue lots of options for beers.

Very impressive place. First time visiting new location. 5 pin and 10 pin. Have to say best setup bowling location in Manitoba. Family bowled at a good rate. Lots of food and drinks to chose from. Arcade and ticket system for prizes. VLTS which surprised me. Looking at prices of everything never thought I would see the vlts cheaper than arcade games and food in my life time. You may actually get more value in playing vlts in 2019 than playing video games. Tons of free parking key for this market. Central location great for corporate and family events. Black lights and comfortable seats. Maybe over kill on number of tv screens when you show the same stuff. Lane 10 needs servicing. Strange for new equipment to need work. Screen for scoreboard are fun and interactive, bowling continues to adapt. Good place for kids. Needs to continue to grow and build character.

Went to this place for a friends birthday. Not the cleanest place, tables were sticky, chairs had some sort of liquid on them, not enough napkins at the tables, staff are a little slow and hard to track down in such an open space which was annoying. Bathrooms are at an odd location based on where your sitting, cleanliness of the washroom was ok but no soap just empty containers but you dont have to touch any door handles.Good price on food and large portions, nachos are awesome, allot of fries, wings were ok cooked fine ,but had a frozen taste to them as well. Beers on special were a good price. 5 pin glow bowling was fun, but a bit of a cluster situation when paying and getting shoes. And during which appeared to be their peak hours good luck getting a lane to bowl, allot of people at this time.Arcade was fun but a little high usage of points to play games. Having a kids/family side to bowl and an adults side is a good idea. This place could really use handsanitizer pumps in it for sure. Overall a decent time had with friends, you will need patients to be successful here.

The place is full of wide variety of arcade games and bowling, however the currently available bowling place is the one for kids. The grownups or adults’ bowling is closed for some reason. However everything works in a decent way and we had so much fun. The bowling center has this thing that makes funny videos for the contestants and it was hilarious. The staff members we so friendly and they helped us a lot, they we so patient with all of our questions.

I used a Groupon for bowling and had a great time with my family! I was really impressed with all of the entertainment options and games they have - this is a much better place than other bowling alleys I've been to and would go back for sure! My only complaints were with the bathroom as 2/4 stalls were out of order including the larger handicap stall which a family member needed and also, the taps in the bathroom are the sensor-run kind where only cold water comes out and the soap tends to continue dispensing while you run your hands under the water! Dumb system!

Very nice, new facility. Good location. Arrived at 8, wanted to bowl. They were booked until 11pm. Fair, this is somewhat of a hot spot in the city at the moment. Make a reservation if you want to go on a weekend. We grabbed a drink and checked out the arcade. You load a card with money to play arcades, win virtual tickets that load to the card. Not sure how the points to ticket conversion calculates, but we ended up with 210 points which got us a ring pop (for $10 of play). Games we played cost between 2 to 8 points for 1 game. I really wanted to play lazer tag and the next game had space in 20 mins. Lazer tag was fun, one level course with lots of different shapes walls and black lights. Very fun. Went out, played the rest of our card and were done here. It was ok overall, staff were quite young, the lazer tag guy kinda seemed like he hated his job, leaning on the wall, on his phone the whole time we played (not watching for safety like the instructional video told us). The young people at the arcade were friendly but very new to customer service. Guys at front desk had obviously told a million people the same answers over and over so they sounded like robots, but not rude. There are also 3 VLT'S in a tiny lounge. Many washrooms that were never full. It was empty but young children were hanging out in it. If I had played bowling, may have a different rating, but meh... I may go back but I am not in any rush.

Did a tour . Place very clean. The young man I dealth with (Luke) was very nice and professional. I wanted to join a league. Inquired three times by phone, one time in person and sent a request through their web . Each time I was told my message was handed on to a female with the exception of the web contact. Today I phoned again and a man told me it was the middle of the season and that was why I was not called and maybe that they were thinking next year. BUT I made myself clear I wanted immediately. I was told two separate times they have league openings. I guess their business is doing very well and they do not need new people. My loss!

It's a bit pricey to do anything here but it's a good time. We played in the arcade for 2 hours and spent 90$, but it was pretty busy and we my could have spent our money much faster. In the end we got 2100 tickets , which gets you pretty much nothing. For 1000 tickets you can get a ball that's sold at the dollar store for 3$ or less. Kids had a good time, but I cant see us going often with the prices.

They do not enforce shoes taken off at door, so the bowling shoes get full of sand and dirt which makes bowling slippery. Pros: There are quite a few games new to Winnipeg. And unlike St. Vital not all out of order, which is a pro. They are true to their advertisement, they do have some pretty good prizes at their redemption centre.

our family loves going to the arcade and bowling pre-covid. we kept saying we should try the food. tonight we did. OMG. my club sandwich is a piece of art. then the burger with mac and cheese. MIND BLOWING. the apple slaw with the mac to the bacon and chicken patty. who thinks of that. thank god they did. last but not least. the kids burger for my son. i took a bite and it was so moist it didn’t even need cheese. most kids burgers are cooked to shreds. this was handled with care. on top of that all we got a $5 arcade card with the kids meal, 2 free laser tag vouchers and the most wholesome note thanking us for our order. There are neat computers keeping track of the score, and they take selfies of you before you start bowling. This was a hit among kids and adults! Adults were kept happy with local beers on tap. +1 for skeeball! Would be nice if they were able to get some pinball machines too.

Will definitely be returning soon! I came here to celebrate New Years Eve and had a great time. The bowling screens had a ton of fun themes to choose from, the sitting area by the lanes are spacious and comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. One of the staff (owner perhaps?) came out and distributed hats and noise makers for the count down, which was really nice of him! Good was great, a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. Following a few bowling games we played some laser tag and had a blast as well. My only complaint with that though, was it seemed a little unorganized when it came to waiting for our turn to play laser tag. There isn't really a designated waiting area, and there is no way to tell how many other groups were ahead of us. Other than that, great experience here and will definitely be coming again. Cheers!

Very clean, including bathrooms, and the food was decent.only knocks against it were slow service to unjam our lane, which needed to be done 5x, and there was only 1 waitress to handle the whole bar area. I first wrote this review and gave it 3 *** but have to diwn grade to * ejile there yesterday i saw the manager put her hand in the popcorn dispenser and grab popcorn with her hands to eat. Be cautious id your eating there. We thought we would check things out. Very inviting atmosphere. Found the games to be to quick and not worth the money even games you typically enjoy like skee ball lasted all of 30 seconds and done. Food was too expensive and lack of healthier options such as just carrots and cellery or other low cal options would be good. Overall fun but not ideal for a low key low expense family evening.

I went bowling and played laser tag here with a few of my friends. There is lots to do with a modern arcade to keep you busy in downtimes. We had to wait for a booking to open up for a bowling lane, so we hopped into a few games of laser tag. The map is reasonably sized for the ~20 people in it at a time. Good obstacles, choke points, lighting is just enough so that you don't run kids over or get run over. The map contains 2 "bases" that we all forgot existed but aren't exactly obvious since the targets are ceiling mounted. so it was a major full scale Team Deathmatch both times we played. The lighting in the vests is good. Hit detection is nice and easy to get used to(provided you have good aim). When you get shot, all your lights go off and you flash white(which is quite helpful so you don't get picked off right when you respawn) so neither team knows which side you're on when you're out for the 7 seconds or so it takes to respawn. It allows for some deception early game when the teams aren't used to their teammates yet and you can play some short term covert ops. Guns are super easy to use and require 2 hands on the gun in order to shoot. There is a touch sensor on the front of the barrel so its really easy to manage. No buttons to depress or anything. Just hold your hand like they show in the demo video and you're golden. The bowling lanes are good as well. Very nice seating, 2 USB charge ports mounted in the back of the couches is a nice touch to stay in touch with the kids these days. Your team takes pictures of yourselves with the info screen and it plays cheesy routines and animations on the overhead monitor as you play. Easy to see scoring and positioning. Hard to tell who is up currently since whoever is selected in the overhead screen, their name over their (grayscale) picture goes away, so at a glance it's hard to tell who's up now. All in all great experience and staff were good to deal with. They give free water at the bar, but it left a weird aftertaste.

Went to bowl with a group of friends the other night and was surprised that no one asked that we (or anyone else for that matter) take our salty, sandy, wet outdoor shoes off before entering either bowling area. The lanes and the floor of the sitting area were so dirty that a few people fell while bowling. On the plus side, the staff are happy and friendly. The bowling systems are brand new and give you more options than just your standard 5 pin game. We paid for 2 hours of lane time and got just a little over 3 games in. The place was packed on a Sunday night, so they must be doing something right!

The facility itself was fine seemed clean but needs of touch ups that make it look dingy and beat. The service at the front counter was five star but after that a complete zero. When I paid for the lanes I was told the was service at the lanes. After almost 20 minutes no one came to take an order or anything. It's over $40/hr to be in a lane, and you have to leave it to order. The person looking after that side did not leave the counter unless it was to bring an order out. However, as soon as we started changing out shoes she immediately started punching things in to the computer, and promptly brought out our bill. Will only go here again if it's half price day. Otherwise extremely overpriced given the service. Lanes seem super slow as well as the computers.

Fun place to be! Only complaint is the restaurant area, we sat down to eat and I had to find a menu myself as no server approached us for a while. My niece ordered a milkshake and never received it, turns out they sent it to the wrong table. Other than that, the food was good, the atmosphere was good. Lasertag was alright, not a lot of places to hide to avoid being shot over and over again by little kids lol. I'd definitely go back tho. Not bad prices either.

Uptown Alley is a fantastic place to hold a large gathering of people, its clean, well lit, organized, and the staff are eager to help. We had a work family day there, with bowling, drinks, popcorn, pizza (and they can handle gluten free!!) arcades and lazer tag. The kids had a blast. The parents were able to relax a little, and the afternoon rolled by with no delays. We watched the lanes not too far from us enjoy birthday parties, and families could drop in and still be able to join in the fun in a totally different end of the building so that the groups were not divided. The area to sit while waiting your turn to bowl were spacious and easy to get around when it was your turn to bowl. And again, so very clean! For a building full of kids, bowling, cake, pizza, and different sweets, the arcade was so clean, the bathrooms were clean, and not a sticky spot on the floor! Larger groups, birthdays, and just a quick drop in, this place can handle it and they got you covered!!! Thanks Uptown Alley for having us!

We have gone a few times, we have a child about 9. The front desk people seem to be hit and miss whether they are friendly or not. The bowling was fun, but about 10 minutes after we got settled into our lane in the back area, the next lane became occupied by a family of 4, sharing the little semi circle seating area and only table with us. It irritated me as there were maybe a dozen lanes and only 4 were occupied but they were placed right next to us. I didn't find their behaviour or language appropriate for my child either. We ordered food, but we had to go to the bar to ask for menus. We then had to go back to the bar to order our food which took a while to came & was alright for the type of establishment. Definitely overpriced though. There were 3 people behind that bar at any given time and none of them came out from behind the bar to clear or clean tables or engage with patrons. Other staff kept coming to the bar and mingling occupying most of the bar staffs attention. Like any arcade, you pay big money and win little prizes, but the games are fun. We have returned several times for the arcade aspect and this last time they had a few new games (basketball connect 4, a different ring toss, mario karts, etc. Some good, some not so much). My kid wants to have his party there this fall so we will see how that goes.

Uptown alley is the bowling alley that used to be located on academy lanes (as far an I know). Having a parking lot instead of street parking is great. Inside, the staff is really friendly and the food is pretty good. The pizza is really floppy sometimes but still yummy! There is laser tag and an arcade that both seem really fun but I usually go for bowling. The actual lanes look nice and have comfortable seating while you are waiting for your turn to bowl. Overall, a very good place to have fun with a group of friends!

We had such a fun time here! We came at at Christmas time and had an hour of bowling booked. the kitchen was not yet 100% running, but we ordered basic foods and the food was alright. The arcade games were great to have for after the hour of bowling. Laser tag was fun for the boys and dads. I hope the owner chooses a different food supplier. A higher quality of food would have made it that much better. (Especially for the amount we paid)

Extremely over priced, I paid for the highest package they have and it was supposed to include decorations and all I received was a decorative table cloth. My "party host" was not very helpful and didnt seem to know what she was doing. I am very disappointed with the service I received considering I paid $400 and did not get everything promised to me. Would not recommend for a party. The bowling and laser tag was fun, however the service was very neglectful.

I just think this place was oversold to me before I went. I'll try it again and see if my review is different at some point. My friend said the arcade would be better than Gameworks but it's not. The bowling is pretty standard. For a place that opened in 2018 I think you'd think there would be some really cool innovation rather than just uploading a picture.

The second we went was quite interesting, we had a bit of time till our bowling time so we got drinks at the bar and played arcade games. I noticed the first bartender served me vodka out of an actual bottle for my cocktail. After that I noticed they were serving it out of a sprayer tap. I am telling you right now I had 6 or 7 vodka drinks and was not even slightly buzzed. When I complained the bartender got super sassy with me "you want to see an ounce? I'll show you an ounce" continued to pour it out of the tap. Sorry but its either watered down or wasn't even vodka. I gave my boyfriend a sip and neither of us could taste alcohol. So I just returned the drink and we left. I would still go back but I will just get a beer next time lol.

Watched a family who came in a bit before us get there food within about 20 minutes, except for 2 people from the table who, and i am not exaggerating, there food came AN HOUR LATER. I felt so bad for them. There were only 5 other tables busy.... and we are still waiting for our food. Very disappointed, and really dont care hiw good the food supposedly is.

This place is very awesome. The most surprising part, the food! Especially the burger they had for Le Burger Week. The Asian Style Beef Tapa Burger! Three (Paid for extra patties) 4 oz Uptown Alley hand formed burger patties, 4 oz of awesome Tapa, a crispy sushi rice patty and a fried egg, topped with grilled sweet onion, pimento cheese, Asian style coleslaw, Havarti cheese and a drizzle of Tapa sauce - served on a toasted brioche bun. It was my number one favorite burger this year! Bravo!

Went to uptown Alley wanting to bowl. I've been excited to visit this Family Fun Place. Much to my surprise I was not impressed with the bar atmosphere. I understand people enjoy a drink while bowling but I was hoping that it would be more discreet like other bowling alleys. I felt like I walked into a night club not a family fun place. Why don't you have an adult only side, with the full bar and one side without the full bar. The facility is beautiful but the bar atmosphere really frustrated me. I see this as a problem for teens. How are you going to control under aged drinking? If a group of teens come in and 1 is 18 and buys for the group's how will you know? I didn't see anyone walking around the bowling lanes monitoring this. I'm sad because I really have come to enjoy bowling. We go to other bowling alleys and it's not focused on a bar atmosphere, yes alcohol is served but not like this. I was also not greeted when I walked through by any of the staff. This is not my experience at any other bowling alley in Winnipeg. This was also a disappointment to me, customer service is something I look for in businesses. I wish you luck with your business but can't say I'll be returning.

So much fun! It's a huge venue with not only bowling, but laser tag and lots of arcade games. I believe the games are a good value. We purchased a $30 card and was able to play for 45 minutes and get a decent amount of points for prizes. The food is surprisingly good for a bowling alley and it's nice that they have a fully stocked bar. You could go here for any age!

Took my brother here, on several occasions, and the staff were super accommodating and friendly towards him. He has autism (level 3) and can be aggressive and loud sometimes when he gets excited. We have taken him to many establishments similar to UA but we have found that this was the kindest and most understanding towards him and his needs. Highly recommend.

Uptown Alleys is fun for the kids. No doubt about that. However, our experience was mediocre for the price we paid. We went with the Ultimate party package which included bowling, video games and lazer tag. Our time was at 1:20 for bowling. There was a group in our assigned lanes and they were not moving. Had to get the staff involved to have party removed. They left with no issues however cut into our time. Our group had children ranging from 4 to 12. No staff assisted in helping have the kids photos taken for the lanes. Cool idea however this cut 20more mins into our time. The lanes broke down and we had to find help to get the lane working. Our time ended and the kids were only on frame 8 and 6. Not 1 game completed. Then we had a table for our pizza which was cold and hard. Again I had to approach assigned staff to figure out the timing of the games and lazer tag. It felt like I was running after her for assistance the whole time. Be prepared to add more cash to the $5 arcade card that's included, depending on the game you may only get 2.

Underwhelming experience. It could be a really fun and cool place but I wasn’t impressed. $57 for an hour of glow bowling. When we got there our lane had empty glasses and napkins on the table, so I moved them. The whole hour we were there nobody moved the dirty dishes from behind us. Food was ok but the chicken strips tasted like fish. The arcade looked fun but I don’t think I would go out of my way to go back there. Disappointing as it could be a super fun place for Winnipeg to have and I was really excited about it! Oh well

Bowling was fantastic. Beer on tap was slightly flat which wasn't a big deal. But the food we had ordered took an hour was cold and the server lied to us about the cook missing the food when clearly it sat under the lamp for way too long. Will not be ordering food from there again seeing that Canad Inns and many other restaurants are close by. I had high hopes seeing as this is a local establishment but they need to work on quality of service and product to really try and make it.

Overall the place is really nice, upscale and modern and have a variety of activities. The bar and table area is nice and the arcade is fun. The downfall is the way the bowling seating area is set up, 2 lanes have 2 couches set up in a semi circle and both lanes share one table. Great idea if you have a big family or group and you need two lanes however we were placed beside a family with 5 kids. Not only was it extremely uncomfortable as we had to watch our drinks as the children were close to spilling them constantly but we just felt uncomfortably close to the other family. It made our overall bowling experience a let down.

There is a ton to do at Uptown Alley, and it's all a blast. There are many bowling lanes that are comfy to sit in and spacious enough for a large group. Weekends tend to be very busy, so it is a good idea to call ahead to reserve a lane. That said, when we recently visited hoping to bowl, and found out that they were booked solid, we stuck around to play the arcade games and had an amazing time. There are all sorts of fun games that are good for all skill levels, and not just for kids. Laser tag is also a lot of fun, and you can play in teams or play free-for-all, depending on how many people are there.

This place has a lot of potential. We loved the original venue from years ago, so we made a reservation for 8, didn't get a lane until 8:30, and the timer started at 50 mins, not the 60 mins we paid for. The old arcade games are fun, but no sanitary wipes or cleaning happening. We still made the best of it.

I love going to the arcade to play the games and saving up for the larger prizes but their bigger prizes do go quick. I like the fact I can either go their for date night and have a drink while playing the coin pusher or any other arcade games. Staff is very friendly and understanding!! My bf got a drone but it did not work and cost alot of points but the manager said come back bring it in and you can get a new one or get your points back. My kids had fun bowling but it did get boring for my kids. We have yet to try lasertag but I see large groups come out smiling. All staff are amazing. It's kind of the best of both worlds here ???? they have a bar, lasertag, a nice arcade to play new games I do wish they got more newer games and fixed some of the ones they do have. You can rack up your tickets if you like playing the arcade and know which games to get jackpots easily. We already have a nintendo switch and much more other big prizes.
