REVIEWS OF The Granite Room IN Iqaluit

Aseleni Wodo

This place is a popular spot for special occasions in town such as anniversary dinners, birthdays, etc. The menu sometimes changes, occasionally spotlighting local foods, but for the most part, the fare here is extremely overpriced and underwhelming for the quality. Myself and my partner have been more than a handful of times, and now only commit to going if a group of friends invite us. Service is subpar at the best of times, as you can feel "ushered" in and out as a guest.

Tried both their breakfast and dinner while in town. Good food and reasonable portions for the price.

(Translated) Sublime! It's expensive! But there is no price for a good restaurant! I will return some to every "run"! Congratulations to the Chef! (Original) Sublime! Ça coûte cher! Mais y a pas de prix pour un bon resto! J y retournerai certain à chaque "run"! Félicitations au Chef!????????????

(Translated) The food was ok, nothing fancy, and the prices were a bit expensive for what you got. In addition, I communicated with the waitress in French, but she answered me in English since my accent is not Quebecois (despite the fact that it is my mother tongue).

Didn’t know what to expect, but the experience exceeded my expectations. Celebrating a nephew’s wedding anniversary, we opted for the best rated place. The decor was tasteful, and with ambiance lighting. The staff were the 3 Fs. Fast, friendly and fficient. OK...maybe 2 Fs and an E. Yes it’s pricey, but expect to pay double for just about all restaurants. What you get is a gourmet meal, that will not only delight, but fill you up. We had two appetizers, the Tiger Shrimp and Fried Calamari. The shrimp were more of a cub size than a tiger, but delicious and the sauce was so good...we used it for the Calamari. I found the Calamari cooked just right, but felt the batter was a little thick for my taste. Our mains were all perfect. I had the New York cut, with a full medium sized backer potato and veggies. Presentation was perfect and it was delicious. My wife had the leg of lamb which came with a house salad. Arctic Char pasta and Chicken Parmesan was what our guests chose. We all loved it. Interesting that I even heard some Jean Leloup in the music mix. Great choice. You get what you pay for...and I left satisfied.

Service was excellent, food was delicious. As a person not from Iqaluit this was the best meal I had on my whole trip. Wish I would have take some photos of my dinner but it was too good to stop and snap a photo.

Some of the best food in Iqaluit. Steaks are on par with any top steak house in Canada. The prices are high by southern Canada comparison but worth it. Attention to detail and quality seem to be a signature. When visiting put this on your must go to list.

Good breakfast, decent prices for Iqaluit, great coffee. Consistent each time I go.

Beatrice Ikkidluak

A stunning menu which is served as close to perfection as possible! Yes, the prices are high (as with everything in Iqaluit), HOWEVER ... you are served an absolute treasure of a meal; Proteins cooked properly/as ordered, greens are crispy, veggies were never over-cooked. I was not able to find anything wrong with any of my meals, whether dining in, or ordered to for my room. OH! I could not order a drink for my room =(

Nice meal and definitely an improved customer service experience The steak was mainly fat will not recommend the rib eye steak

George Qulaut

The food is delicious and service is great

The name sounded like a sandy, rocky place when i first heard it. But now i think of it differently as a great and the best place to get the most spicy food ever. No rocks, no sand. just a great and the most wonderful food you could think of.

Food was good but service was lackluster. My party and I felt like an inconvenience. I was here 2 years ago and It was my favourite dining spot in the town. Maybe it was an off day? Check it out.
